Hi Dennis, I would like to thank you and Diamond Creek Rotary for all your hard work in running the town fair, it was great to be part of this amazing event. Thank you so much for providing the site, tent and riding tickets to include the Diamond Valley Riding Program in the fair. Unfortunately the heat kept many of our students at home but those that did visit really enjoyed the pony rides with the handymount activities, dancing to the music and climbing the rope structure. Many Thanks Again Robyn Griffiths and the Diamond Valley Riding team Suzie Vincent Thank you, thank you, thank you to All the hard working loyal members of Diamond Creek Rotary... Another excellent town fair... The team of men & ladies(& lets be honest, their not young) all put in a massive effort... Once again, well done Rotary!!!!! 3 cheers... November 24 at 11:02pm · Jay English Thanks for the free ride tickets(once we got it sorted), and the look on my kids faces during the fireworks show, it was worth every dollar we spent while there. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make it happen. November 24 at 11:51pm · Travis Drake I was pretty impressed, an improvement on last year, weather and attraction wise. November 25 at 9:31am via mobile · Cath Fisher Just got home with sore feet and a very tuckered out little dog. I love the new layout. Even though I searched and searched I couldn't find the lady who sells the lemon butter. But I still vote it the *best* Town Fair in many years. November 24 at 5:04pm

THE PRESIDENTIAL CROSS CHAT XRAY STEVE

A

s we head toward the serious part of the festive season we soon

realise how limited our time is as we start to try and squeeze in all of the various social, family and work related functions that seem to crop up at this time of the year, and if you are like me, cause you to step back and wonder if it is all worth the effort. Well – most of it is as we join up with family and friends that we may not have seen all year, or start to prepare for that “one day in December” where we bring great pleasure to our families, children and grandchildren (any great grandchildren out there????) and can sit back in convivial pleasure and let the festivities roll around you. something

background, and the day allows us to relax a bit and enjoy the festive season. All I ask is that we don’t overindulge on the day, or the days following, and that we remember those less fortunate than us who may not have family or the wherewithal to celebrate the festive season. If you can help those people in any way please do so, and do it with the blessings of the festive season. Our Rotary club is also heading to the “end of year” break up but that doesn’t mean that we will be slowing down as we wind up for the year. Just to prompt your memories: Tuesday (4th) – dinner meeting - Foundation Night bring along your 5cent containers. This Sunday (9th) – children’s Christmas party – come one come all. Next Monday – (10th) Rotary Town Fair wrap up meeting. Tuesday (11th) – dinner meeting at Nandos – we need numbers to confirm the booking – also – it’s a partners night. Tuesday (18th) – final meeting – partners night. Please make the effort to attend these meetings and finish the year off on a high note.

Life Education Victoria launched their new Van for this area at Yarrambat Primary School on Friday 30th November. There was a strong Rotary presence at the launch with the Rotary Clubs of Diamond Creek (Alan J and Pat), Greensborough and Preston attending. Two students from Yarrambat Primary School spoke about the benefits of Harold and his friends and values that Life Education teaches. Very impressive new DVD presentations were also shown. Joe Di Natale, former member of the Rotary Club of Diamond Creek, has been the link between the club and Life Education Victoria. In the past we have donated to them and also hosted Harold and the Life Education Van at the Town Fair. They are keen to come back and be part of the 2013 Fair. Life Education is a really valuable project for the club to be involved with and hopefully it is something that we can take up again. Alan Jones
