John Handsaker, Charles Rattray, Terry Hubbard and Russell Hogg. The FourFathers live in and near Yea. They met many years ago through their interest in Rotary International, and today share their friendship, love of music, fun and life. The FourFathers were first asked to sing publicly at several Christmas functions during December, 2006. Since then they have performed regularly at community and aged folk concerts, community Christmas carols and church services and many other private functions. After receiving regular requests from their audiences for CD's, The FourFathers decided to produce their first CD "Cool Water" for Christmas, 2009. The FourFathers are all members of The Rotary Club of Yea Inc, They all have a strong commitment to community service both locally, nationally and internationally. All profits from the sale of their CD's and singing engagements are donated to various Rotary and other community service projects. The Fourfathers mainly sing three or four part a cappella harmony, and sometimes use a guitar as accompaniment. They have a wide variety of songs in their repertoire including old time, modern, sacred hymns, carols and various barbershop style items.

They performed at the opening ceremony of the Conference 2012.

Those blokes can sing EH ! Mr President

Blast from the past - the year 2010- 2011 We have effectively organised last year's town fair twice as due to the rain we had to postpone it and the committee rose to the occasion and rescheduled it to November and it was bigger and better than ever. The local community love their town fair and will support it whenever its run. The end polio now raffle drawn on the original morning of the town fair by District Governor Alan Anderson raised over $10,000.00 We were also active again with the carols by candlelight again last Christmas we also again supported Bowel scan a great project. We gave financial support to Ahmed Kelly, Royal District Nursing Service, Second Bite, EPIC, Prostate Cancer Council, ROMAC, ARH and the Diamond Valley Community Garden. Some of the rotary projects we have supported during the year include Aquabox, ShelterBox (we are the district ShelterBox representatives) the district Governors' partners charity was supported again by the club, we increased our sponsorship of the Tender Foot Self Help School in Kangemi, Kenya and now sponsor 4 children. We supported the youth programs again last year being RYLA, RYPEN.

from the president keeping up with the joneses!

Wherever a man turns he can find someone who needs him. “ ~Albert Schweitzer “

As Rotarians, we see so much around the world and in our local community where we are needed. But sometimes, that need is even closer to home with people within our own circle. Often someone within our Club will need a helping hand. This may be with a Rotary Project or it may be at a more personal level. That is what is so special about most Rotarians – they see a need and they simply step in. I saw just that on the weekend at the District Conference. There were times when some members needed back up or support and I would like to thank those members who volunteered to help. It is not just their physical help that aids the situation, but the mere fact that they see a need, offer their assistance and step in, is just so gratifying. But always step in for the right reason! Do it because you can assist. Our Rotary Club is much bigger than the individual – be genuine about what you do and don’t do it for your own gratification. Whenever you do step in, make sure that you keep the person responsible in the loop. Remember everyone does it at their own level but sometimes a small contribution can make all the difference. This is what makes Diamond Creek such a special club. We have a number of members who will go that extra mile. District Governor David Anderson stated on the weekend that although we are just a medium sized club, we still achieve a lot. It was also great to

chat to members from other clubs who complimented us on what we do! We don’t do it for recognition – we do it because our membership is made up of some people who will go the extra mile. A number of our members do more than just attend the club meetings. Not only do they take on numerous roles within our own club, some get involved at District level, some get involved at community level such as being the Rotary Representative on other organisations such as the Men’s Shed or L2P or many others. Sometimes our members get involved in activities that are outside our Rotary criteria but they see a need and step in. This is why we achieve so much and this is why some of our members could only be described as extraordinary. It is times like this when I reflect upon the things that they do, that I am indeed proud to be the President of the Rotary Club of Diamond Creek.
