Traditional sports and Pongal-related village games like pallaanguzhi, uriyadi and kolam contest were conducted by RC Madurai Sangamam, RID 3000, for two days at the Government High School, Viraganoor, to celebrate the harvest festival.

On the final day, DGN Raja Gonvindasamy and AG Senthilnathan distributed prizes to the winners of the Pongal competitions. Headmistress Santhi presided over the valedictory sessions during which prizes and gifts were distributed.
“At the end of the two-day gala event, a grand lunch was provided to around 300 students. The food was sponsored by Rtn Nalan Senthi,” said TG Pravin Kumar, club secretary.
