Travel Tips for Autumn

> Assign roles: A single leader is the goto person who ensures everyone knows what they need to do, and what is happening. Alternatively, if appointing a group leader does not work, then assign specific roles to people such as a “foodie” who can be in charge of finding all the best spots to eat; the “finance guru” who can be in charge of doing cost calculations for trip. Whatever you choose, keep lines of communication open so everyone feels included.

> Group transfer: It’s a good idea to plan this in advance to kickstart the trip in a relaxed manner as opposed to waiting around trying to figure out how many taxi’s and other transport will be needed and costs.

> Lookout for group discounts: This could be for accommodation, activities, and more.

> Pack light: You have responsibility for your own luggage, so it is not a good idea to have loads of bags when travelling from place to place.

• Pack in an extra bank card: Sometimes life happens where you misplace your card, or it might be stolen. It’s a good idea to have a spare debit card as a backup so you are not left with no money.

• Have extra copies of your passport and ID: If you misplace your documents, have a backup in one of your other bags. It’s also a good idea to email yourself these documents so you always have a copy if the original is lost.

Booking flights

The rule of thumb remains to book in advance. Flights tend to be a bit cheaper if you fly during the week (excluding Monday and Friday). If you have a credit card or some sort of rewards or loyalty card, be sure to check if you qualify for a discount.
