FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS …
WELCOME HOME
I’m delighted to personally welcome you to our resort on the heels of our 40th anniversary. Having been part of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa family for more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of watching this resort grow and evolve while maintaining the traditions that make it such a special destination. I started a new chapter of my life when I came here to work in food and beverage in 2003. This resort has become a haven to me. Today, I’m proud to lead an exceptional team dedicated to delivering memorable experiences to every guest—every day.
At Hilton Sandestin Beach, we are intentional in cultivating a caring culture among our staff, which translates directly into a family-friendly guest experience. Many of our team members have been here for years, and we welcome guests who have been visiting us for generations—some who came as children, now returning as grandparents. We’re proud to have earned your loyalty. The way I see it—we are all a part of the Hilton Sandestin Beach family.
We’ve made some exciting updates, including beautifully renovated guest rooms and meeting spaces, an enhanced indoor pool experience, plus new dining options which include our brick-oven Pizza Bar. Our acclaimed fourdiamond restaurant, Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood, and the luxurious Serenity by the sea Spa are just a few of the highlights awaiting you.
Whether this is your first visit or a return trip, we look forward to making your stay memorable and welcoming you back—for years to come.
Thank you for choosing Hilton Sandestin Beach. We hope you fully enjoy all the fun and relaxation we have to offer. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, we are at your service.

It all started with a vision—a vision to reinvent what it means to vacation at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the largest full-service beachfront resort on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast. After a $35 million investment, that vision is now a stunning reality, bringing guests 35 million reasons to smile. From redesigned rooms to refreshed dining spaces, new family-friendly amenities, an updated spa, and more, this property-wide renovation has turned a beloved beachside getaway into a luxurious, next-level destination. The first phase of the transformation focused on the heart of the resort: the 590 guest rooms and suites spread across the Emerald and Spa towers. Gone are the days of simple beachside decor. Today, each room exudes a chic, coastal-inspired design that creates a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. It’s not just about the design—it’s about invoking a feeling that makes you feel right at home while still reminding you that you’re on
vacation. Families will especially love the new bunk bed enclaves, motionsensor lighting, upgraded charging stations, and deluxe vanities; thoughtful touches that make every stay just a little bit easier.
Hilton Sandestin Beach’s meeting spaces, which host everything from corporate gatherings to weddings, also received a significant facelift. These enhanced spaces are better equipped to host events in style, with more modern amenities and polished, sophisticated looks.
The resort’s dining options and leisure spaces received just as much attention as the renovation continued. The second and third renovation
phases brought new energy to Hilton Sandestin Beach’s six on-site dining outlets, three pools, beachfront deck areas, and Serenity by the sea Spa. Each restaurant now serves locally inspired flavors with a contemporary twist, making every meal a special occasion. The pools and deck spaces have been reimagined, with expanded lounging areas and improved accessibility for all guests. For those looking to unwind, the spa has introduced cuttingedge features like touchless wellness treatments, offering a personalized experience that blends technology and relaxation seamlessly. With an enviable location on one of the most pristine stretches of beach
in the world, Hilton Sandestin Beach offers guests unparalleled access to the natural beauty of the Gulf Coast. Whether lounging by the pools, watching a breathtaking sunset from your private balcony, or enjoying a delicious beachfront meal, every moment is designed to create lasting memories. And with $35 million invested in making this resort the ultimate escape, every corner now radiates luxury, comfort, and a coastal charm that guests can only find here. So, what are you waiting for? Hilton Sandestin Beach is calling—complete with countless reasons for you to smile, relax, and discover the new standard in beachfront luxury.
THE BEACH IS JUST THE BEGINNING … Where to Start?
Nestled along the sugarwhite sands of Florida’s Emerald Coast, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa offers more than just a stunning beachfront escape—it’s a gateway to limitless experiences. This stunning, award-winning, full-service waterfront resort provides guests with unmatched accommodations, breathtaking Gulf views, and luxurious amenities, making it the ultimate destination for any occasion.
In 2025, the resort celebrates another year of blending relaxation with adventure, proving that the beach is just the beginning. From unwinding at Serenity by the sea Spa, to hitting the links at championship golf courses, or savoring Gulf-to-table dining at Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood, guests will find every moment full of opportunities.
But the magic goes beyond the shoreline. Hilton Sandestin Beach elevates every stay with experiences that immerse guests in the local culture and natural beauty. Whether it’s beachfront yoga, paddleboarding at sunrise, or gathering around a bonfire under the stars, there’s always something waiting to be explored.
With exceptional service, a prime location, and endless ways to experience the Emerald Coast, Hilton Sandestin Beach proves that while the beach may draw you in, it’s just the beginning of your adventure.

tips to make the most out of your trip
BY ZANDRA WOLFGRAM
Robin Bailer, Director of Rooms at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, has seen it all since joining the hotel a day before its grand opening in 1984. Starting as a dishwasher, he worked his way through several roles—including busser, bellman, and concierge—before rising to his current position.
“I’ve worked in so many roles here, and I even met my wife at Hilton Sandestin Beach,” Bailer recalls. His journey is a testament to his dedication, with his career spanning four decades. Bailer oversees all facets of guest services from housekeeping to front desk operations, concierge services, and more. His focus is clear: “I have succeeded if a guest enjoys themselves, has no complaints, and feels like it’s all magic—though it’s not. There’s a lot of pre-planning and work behind the scenes.”
Despite the years, this guest service leader’s motivation remains tied to the
team he cultivates. “It really starts with the team. Our main goal is to ensure our guests have a great experience, and we work toward that every day,” Bailer says.
Lead Concierge Suzy Hogle shares Bailer’s passion for guest service. Having vacationed in the area since the 1980s, she now calls it home.
“I love to help people,” Hogle says. “I know the area inside and out.”
As concierge, her role is to ensure guests have the information they need to make their stay memorable. “We listen and gather details about what they’re looking for. It can be anything from a golf tee time to a fine dining experience for an anniversary,” she says.
The quirkiest question she’s received? “It’s funny to be asked, ‘Where’s the beach?’ when it’s right behind me,” Hogle says, grinning. Whether it’s a simple inquiry or a special request, both Bailer and Hogle are driven by their commitment to ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless, unforgettable stay at Hilton Sandestin Beach.
TIPS FROM THE CONCIERGE
◆ Restrooms are available on the main lobby level near the indoor swimming pool and pool deck access area.
◆ Guests can access complimentary Wi-Fi in the lobby, and computer access and an ATM are available at the Connectivity Kiosk near the Gift Shop.
◆ Each guest room is equipped with its own mini refrigerator, microwave, handheld steamer, and coffee maker.
◆ Recent renovations offer conveniences like extra towel hooks and headboard reading lights.
◆ Take the complimentary tram to The Village of Baytowne Wharf. The tram picks up in front of the Spa Tower and runs seven days a week, picking up every 25-35 minutes.
◆ A hotel shuttle will take guests to the popular Silver Sands Premium Outlets. Picking up right outside the lobby doors daily at noon and 2 p.m. with the final shuttle dropping off at 4 p.m.
TAKE A TIP FROM SUZY
◆ Fall is the best time to visit for a chill stay. “October and November are phenomenal—the crowds are thinner, temperatures lower, and our emerald water is crystal clear,” Hogle says. For those seeking excitement, summer is ideal. The Fourth of July, in particular, is the resort’s “Super Bowl.” Fireworks fill the air and festivities abound.
◆ Planning ahead is crucial for a smooth vacation. “Pre-planning ensures you get your special requests in early,” she advises. Whether it’s arranging beach wheelchairs, transportation, or getting reservations on the books, the concierge team follows up with detailed emails to help guests prepare.
◆ For fun beyond the beach, try a trip to Eden Gardens State Park. “It’s a hidden gem just 20 minutes away with beautiful grounds and guided tours,” she adds. Pair it with a drive along Scenic Highway 30A for a perfect half-day adventure.

For Alexis, the most rewarding part of her job is the personal connections she forms with guests. “There’s a couple that returns every year as Snowbirds, and we’ve built such an amazing relationship,” she says. “It feels like my family is coming into town.”
Her attention to detail extends to sending personalized cards and amenities to VIP guests, ensuring they feel special from the moment they arrive. “It’s all about making them feel at home,” Ward adds.
ALEX PATE, 14+ YEARS
Keeping Things Running Smoothly
A Florida native, Alex Pate was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach and now lives in Crestview. He has been a vital part of the Hilton Sandestin Beach team for more than 14 years, starting his journey in the stewarding department as a DISHWASHER.
Inspired by his upbringing, Pate attributes his passion for hospitality to the values instilled by his parents. “My parents inspired me to pursue a career in hospitality, and they always taught me to be kind to others,” he shares.
For this kind-hearted hospitality hotelier, the best part of his job is working at Sandcastles and interacting with guests. “I love working at Sandcastles because I enjoy seeing lots of people and greeting them,” he says. “I look forward to starting each day with a cheerful moment saying, ‘Good morning, may I help you?’ ”
Out of all that this hotel offers, what is his favorite amenity? Simple. “I love Barefoot’s. Who doesn’t like being around beautiful pools and beaches?” he explains.
TYLER KING, 3 YEARS
Building a Thriving Team
As the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES, Tyler King, originally from Montclair, California, found her passion for helping others through her work in hospitality. Since joining Hilton Sandestin Beach in 2021, King has embraced her role in fostering a positive work environment.
“I love building connections with team members and contributing to their success,” King says. Her favorite part of working at Hilton Sandestin Beach is the strong sense of community shared between staff and guests. “We have so many repeat visitors who return year after year, making it even more memorable,” she adds.
If not in hospitality, King would pursue starting her own nonprofit, reflecting her passion for making a lasting impact. “It’s about being part of something greater than yourself,” she says.

For guests seeking relaxation, Mora recommends the Serenity by the sea Spa’s full range of services, which she believes is the resort’s hidden gem. “Who wouldn’t want a relaxing massage on their vacation?” she quizzes with a smile.
JOHNNY ALVARADO, 6 YEARS
Adding a Personal Touch to Guest Stays
Johnny Alvarado, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HOUSEKEEPING at Hilton Sandestin Beach, brings six years of dedicated service to the resort. Originally from Aibonito, Puerto Rico, and now residing in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Alvarado excels at going the extra mile to create special moments for guests.
One memorable experience stands out in his career. “I once pretended to be the Tooth Fairy for a young guest who lost a tooth,” he recalls. “The mother was so touched and gave me a hug, telling me it made her son’s day.” For this hospitality pro, it’s the small gestures that leave the biggest impact.
When recommending activities, Alvarado loves directing families to The Village of Baytowne Wharf, a favorite local hot spot offering outdoor movies, evening shows, and fireworks. “It’s the perfect place for families to create great memories,” he says.
CRYSTAL PIRC, 21 YEARS A
Career Rooted in Hospitality
For Crystal Pirc, hospitality is in her blood. Born in Sumpter, South Carolina, and now living in Valparaiso, Florida, Pirc has spent 21 years as a COST ANALYST at Hilton Sandestin Beach. Her hospitality journey began at 17 when she worked as a waitress at Waffle House and discovered her love for serving others.
“I love that we change things up every year, especially the menus,” Pirc shares. “It gives returning guests something new to look forward to.” She enjoys being part of a team that always strives to enhance the guest experience.
When recommending activities, this “bean counter’s” favorite is parasailing. “You get a bird’s-eye view of everything in the water on a clear day. It’s peaceful up in the sky,” she says. If not working in hospitality, Pirc would have pursued a career in accounting, reflecting her love for numbers and their “black-and-white simplicity.”
JILL CORRELL KRUSZKA, 15+ YEARS Setting the Tone for a Perfect Stay
With more than 15 years of service at Hilton Sandestin Beach, Jill Correll Kruszka takes pride in being the first point of contact for guests as a RESERVATIONIST. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and now residing in Destin, Florida, Kruszka enjoys the area’s dynamic environment.
“The Emerald Coast is a beautiful place to both vacation and live,” Kruszka says. “Being immersed in the atmosphere of an oceanfront resort while at work is paradise.” For Kruszka, the Hilton motto “For the Stay” begins with her role in setting the tone for each guest’s experience, ensuring their stay is filled with excitement and anticipation.
When it comes to recommending activities, this Reservationist does not hesitate to send guests to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, where they can enjoy picnics, hikes, or even bike rentals for a relaxing afternoon. “It’s a hidden gem,” she adds, knowing firsthand it offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the beach.
ANGELA KRAMER, 8 YEARS
Crafting Unforgettable Moments at Hilton Sandestin Beach
As the WEDDING AND SPECIAL EVENTS SALES MANAGER at Hilton Sandestin Beach, Angela Kramer has spent the last eight years ensuring that every celebration is picture-perfect. Originally from Ramstein, Germany, Kramer found her way into hospitality after college, starting with serving and bartending. “It was through catering events at restaurants that I realized how much joy I get from creating memorable experiences for people,” she explains. Her passion for making dream weddings a reality is what keeps her thriving in the role today.
This event expert attributes her success to two key skills: attention to detail and patience. “In event management, every detail matters,” she says. From table settings to meal presentation, Kramer ensures everything runs smoothly. Her steady demeanor is crucial when dealing with unexpected changes on event day. “You have to stay calm and problem-solve, especially for the guests. It’s all about creating a memorable time.”
When she’s not managing weddings, Kramer dreams of owning a farm or “dog hotel,” where she could combine her love for animals with her knack for hospitality.
KIMBERLY MINOR, 3 YEARS
Making Every Stay Special
For Kimberly Minor, hospitality runs in the family. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, and now residing in Crestview, Florida, Kimberly credits her mother for inspiring her career. “My mom started working at the Hilton in Greenville when I was in high school, and I loved hearing her stories about the guests,” Minor recalls. That inspiration led her to work in hospitality, starting in Greenville before transitioning to her dual COORDINATOR ROLE IN REVENUE AND GROUP RESERVATIONS at Hilton Sandestin Beach.
“My favorite part of working here is the stunning Gulf views—I get to see our emerald waters every day,” she says. Minor also values the camaraderie among her coworkers, noting, “We’re like a family, and that makes coming to work so much easier.”
Minor goes above and beyond to personalize guests’ experiences, from special occasion upgrades to handwritten notes. “I try to make each stay memorable,” she says. Minor’s strong memory helps her recall specific guest preferences, allowing her to tailor each visit with personal touches.

Fowler especially loves meeting guests from his hometown, which adds a personal connection to his daily interactions.
After nearly five years at Hilton Sandestin Beach, this recreation pro still finds joy in every conversation he has with visitors. His top recommendation for guests? “Definitely check out the Destin Harbor and Crab Island,” he advises. “It’s the perfect way to escape the noise and enjoy some time on the water.”
While hospitality is his passion, Fowler also has a family connection to a different trade. “If I weren’t working at Hilton, I’d be an electrician like my grandfather,” he shares.

AT SERENITY BY THE SEA
Indulge in touchless wellness treatments in a newly renovated, beach-inspired haven
BY ZANDRA WOLFGRAM
In today’s fast-paced world, self-care is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity. At Serenity by the sea Spa at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, they’ve elevated relaxation to an art form. The spa has been recently renovated and boasts an expanded menu of services, including cutting-edge touchless wellness treatments. Whether you’re craving a quick revitalizing facial or an indulgent full-day retreat, Serenity offers a wellness experience like no other—because, let’s be honest, you’ve earned it.
“We’re always looking for ways to enhance our guests’ experience,” says Shanelle Lucas, Director of Spa Services. “With our newly renovated space, we’ve created an environment that not only relaxes the body but also refreshes the spirit. It’s a full sensory experience.” The upgraded spa boasts enhanced relaxation areas, fresh décor inspired by the natural beauty of the beach, and state-of-the-art treatment rooms designed for ultimate comfort.
Touchless Wellness and Ultimate Facials
Adding to its extensive selection of facials, body treatments, massages, salon services, and overall rejuvenating experiences, Serenity by the sea Spa has launched innovative touchless wellness features that use cutting-edge technology to offer an individualized experience. Spa-goers can immerse themselves in the Wellsystem Wave Table, a hydrojet massage which uses gentle power water jets for a head-to-toe experience without direct contact.
“The Wave Table allows guests to enjoy a deeply relaxing treatment while fully clothed, making it both convenient and soothing,” explains Lucas.
Another standout is the Prism Light Pad therapy, bathing users in a soothing red light that promotes full-body recovery. “Our Prism Light Pad accelerates healing and reduces inflammation, leaving guests feeling refreshed and revitalized,” says Jerralyn Karakorn, Assistant Director of Spa Services. “These one-of-a-kind services ensure the comfort and wellbeing of our visitors.”
But the innovations don’t stop there. Serenity continues to elevate traditional offerings with treatments like the Mindful Dreams Stone Massage—a deeply relaxing, sleep-inducing ritual that uses
aromatherapy oils and hot stones to release tension and facilitate peaceful rest.
“The Mindful Dreams Stone Massage is a guest favorite because it helps people truly unwind and let go,” says Karakorn.
Serenity has also taken facials to new heights with rejuvenating, anti-aging skin care treatments. “Our facials are designed not only to improve your skin’s appearance but also to address long-term skin health,” says Lucas. A must-try is the Signature HydraFacial, an invigorating treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and antioxidant protection all in one. For those seeking something extra, the Platinum HydraFacial includes LED light therapy and a customized booster to target specific concerns like fine lines or pigmentation.
“We’ve seen a big surge in demand for facials recently,” adds Lucas. “Guests want treatments that are results-driven but that also feel luxurious. Our facials are perfect for achieving glowing skin while giving you that much-needed pampering.”
A Wellness Retreat for All
At Serenity by the sea Spa, wellness isn’t just for adults. With an array of services tailored for kids and teens aged 16 and up, the whole family can join in the relaxation. From fun, colorful pedicures for the little ones to skin care treatments for teens, Serenity is committed to making wellness a family affair. Men are also finding their groove at the spa. “Our male guests love our beard treatments and skin care options, especially the Organic Male line,” says Karakorn.
For the ultimate spa day, Serenity encourages guests to arrive early and enjoy all the amenities—from the whirlpool and steam room to the private relaxation lounges.
“Our goal is to make sure every guest leaves feeling refreshed and renewed, both mentally and physically,” says Lucas.
Spa Tips for the Ultimate Experience

Enjoy access to state-of-the-art tennis courts and four championship courses
The perfect climate and Gulf Coast locale make this area a haven for golfers and tennis players alike. Our guests have access, through Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, to four championship golf courses among some of the most beautiful settings that the Emerald Coast has to offer. So it’s no wonder that Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is one of the Top 20 Florida Golf Resorts, according to Condé Nast Traveler. If you swing better with a racquet than a club, the resort has you covered with access to 15 tennis
courts—12 of them being HydroGrid clay. The tennis center at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, set amid beautiful landscaping, includes private tennis courts, a renowned Pro Shop, a shingled clubhouse with decks, private lessons with certified staff, group clinics, children’s tennis activities, and six pickleball courts.
A complimentary shuttle runs between the tennis center and the resort. To reserve a court, rent equipment or check on the latest tennis happenings, call (850) 267-7060 or speak with our on-site concierge team.
Hilton Sandestin Beach guests can enjoy convenient access to Sandestin’s golf and tennis amenities.
THE LINKS GOLF CLUB
The Links, the resort’s original course, has been welcoming and challenging golfers for more than five decades. Designed by renowned architect Tom Jackson, The Links treats golfers to breathtaking views of Choctawhatchee Bay and Baytowne Marina. Not only do the coastal breezes help tame the Florida sun, but they also offer a good challenge on this true links-style course that has five waterfront holes. The Links course has four sets of tees to choose from and challenges golfers of any skill level. Take a swing on a course that’s been named one of the “Top 100 Courses in Florida” by Florida Golf
BURNT PINE GOLF CLUB
Burnt Pine, designed by Rees Jones, brother of designer Robert Trent Jones Jr., offers golfers a one-of-a-kind experience throughout its expansive 7,000 yards, which include rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The front nine at Burnt Pine takes players through pine forests and wetlands, while the back nine spotlights charming views of Choctawhatchee Bay. Golf Magazine has called Burnt Pine the “Crown Jewel of Florida Golf.” Seasonal and limited tee times are available.
RAVEN GOLF CLUB
It’s not every day you get to play on a course where the pros sank birdies. The Raven Golf Club, twice a stop on the PGA Champions Tour, affords you that luxury. Some of the country’s best amateur golfers played Raven as part of the Division III National Championship in 2013. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., brother of Rees Jones, this course is just what the doctor ordered if you want to work every club in your bag. It meanders through wetlands, marshes, and pine trees throughout Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Golfweek named Raven one of the “Best Courses You Can Play” on four occasions.
BAYTOWNE GOLF CLUB
Accolades galore have been written about the course at Baytowne Golf Club, and they are well-deserved. This unique course has earned a 4.5-star rating from Golf Digest and features a variety of elevation changes, which is uncommon for courses in this region. Designed by Tom Jackson, this is the only golf course along Florida’s Gulf Coast that stretches from the Gulf of Mexico to Choctawhatchee Bay. Baytowne Golf was home to the women’s 2013 NCAA Division III National Championship. The course’s five tee locations offer a challenge no matter the skill level or handicap.
DUNES PUTTING COURSE
Enjoy the beachside Dunes Putting Course, day or night, for fun with the family or to brush up on your putting skills.
Contact our concierge desk at (850) 267-9500, ext. 3741 for more information on choosing the course that’s best for you.
LET’S PLAY
Generations of families return to play, guided by the resort’s “directors of fun”
BY ZANDRA WOLFGRAM
At Hilton Sandestin Beach, fun runs in the family. Tiffany Howell, Director of Recreation, and Assistant Director Caidan Cryar, are affectionately known as the “directors of fun.” Together, they have a combined 35 years of experience creating memorable experiences for guests, many of whom have been coming to the resort for generations.
Year-round fun in the sun for all ages is the focus of the friendly Hilton Sandestin Beach recreation team.
“I’ve been here for over two decades, and I started as a pool hut attendant,” Howell says. “Now, I get to mentor younger staff members, many of whom are getting their start here with their first job just like I did. We’re a family at Hilton Sandestin, and we want our guests to feel that same sense of belonging.”
Howell isn’t the only one who got her start at the pool hut. Cryar joined the team at 16 and is now going into her 12th year with the resort. “It’s amazing to see kids who were our guests growing up and are now returning as adults to make new memories,” Cryar shares. “We’re here to make sure every generation has fun, just like the last.”
Activities for Every Age
The recreation team has something for everyone, from water sports to sandcastle-building lessons. Beach volleyball remains a guest favorite, with players of all ages checking out volleyballs from the beach hut for some friendly competition. “It’s something fun for everyone to do, and it brings people together,” Cryar says.
Beach Flag Breakdown
Low Hazard
Calm conditions, caution is still advised.
Medium Hazard
Moderate surf and/or currents.
High Hazard
High surf and strong currents.
Water Closed to Public
Water activity is prohibited.
Stinging Marine Life Present
Purple flags will be seen in conjunction with another flag color. While a purple flag typically indicates the presence of jellyfish, visitors can spot dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, and other marine life on any given day.
kayaking, paddleboarding, and beach volleyball are just
Water lovers can also enjoy kayaking and paddleboarding, with rentals available by the hour. “We always recommend heading out in the morning when the water is calm,” advises Howell. “That way, you can make the most of your experience before the afternoon chop sets in.”
Looking for something more spontaneous? Keep an eye out for the resort’s recreation team. “We’ll randomly invite guests to play volleyball or pickleball against our rec team,” says Cryar. “It’s all in good fun, but we don’t plan on losing! It’s a great way to engage guests and create spontaneous moments of joy.”
For those looking to relax, the recreation team can even arrange sandcastle-building lessons with local expert Dan in the Sand. “It’s a huge hit with families,” Howell says. “We’ve had sandcastle lessons for weddings, holiday
events, and even corporate retreats. Guests love it!”
But the beach is just the beginning of fun here. The updated indoor pool area features a sleek, modern look with comfortable new furniture and non-slip, low-impact flooring for safety. The two-level pool area has been leveled out, bringing the whirlpool down to the same height as the main pool, making the space more accessible. Plus, floor-to-ceiling windows now offer stunning views, and new water features with LED lighting create a magical atmosphere for evening swims.
“Families love the updates,” says Howell. “It’s a beautiful, bright space now, and the LED lights make night swimming feel special.”
Memories That Last a Lifetime
What sets this hotel apart isn’t just the activities—it’s the relationships that form during memorable visits. “We’ve seen families grow up here,” says Howell. “Some of the kids I watched grow up are now bringing their own children. It’s incredible to be a part of their lives and their family traditions.”
So, whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, corporate team building, or just some family bonding time, Hilton Sandestin Beach offers an experience that will keep you coming back for more. As Howell puts it, “We’re here to make sure everyone has the time of their lives.”

Whether you’re commemorating a romantic milestone, hosting an elegant dinner, or impressing business clients, Seagar’s guarantees an unforgettable night.
The heart of this gastronomic wonder is Chef Fleetwood Covington, the 2024 Best Chef on the Emerald Coast. Covington’s rise from the sauté station to Executive Chef in 2022 is a testament to this 37-year-old’s relentless passion and talent. Inspired by Northwest Florida’s coastal bounty and his background as a classically trained concert pianist, Chef Covington masterfully blends local flavors with international techniques, crafting dishes that resonate like a perfectly composed symphony.
“I am a creative at heart,” he says. “Cooking gives me a medium to voice a lot of what I believe in.”
At Seagar’s, the menu is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, highlighted by prime cuts of beef and the freshest seafood. The journey begins with artisanal appetizers like delicate seared scallops or luxurious foie gras. Each bite is a testament to Chef Covington’s precision and creativity.
When it comes to the main course, the spotlight naturally falls on the steaks. Expertly cooked and meticulously sourced, these cuts represent the pinnacle of quality. Whether you prefer a tender filet mignon or a full-bodied ribeye, each steak is prepared to perfection.
The sides, from truffle fries to creamed corn, elevate the experience even further. “Food is meant to nourish,” Covington says. “It may sound sentimental, but it demands a certain level of vulnerability. You can’t hide bad food.”
Craving seafood? Seagar’s extensive selection will not disappoint. The freshest available ingredients shine in dishes like Chilean sea bass or succulent lobster tail, allowing natural flavors to take center stage with minimal adornment. The seafood offerings are prepared with the same level of care and expertise as the steak, ensuring a balanced and memorable dining experience.
Seagar’s is also known for its wine list, which spans the globe. With over 600 bottles from noted vineyards, guests can find the perfect pairing for
each dish. Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or simply looking for a great glass, Seagar’s expert sommelier is on hand to guide you through the selection process.
To complete the experience, indulge in one of Seagar’s signature desserts. The decadent chocolate soufflé, with its rich and velvety texture, is a must-try and provides the perfect finale to an extraordinary evening. As Covington reflects on orchestrating high-end dining events, he notes, “I turn everything off when I’m cooking. I’m not thinking; I’m feeling what’s happening.”
Whether you’re celebrating life’s biggest milestones or simply treating yourself to an evening of indulgence, Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood ensures every detail is exceptional— from the first bite to the last.

DIVING

Dive into one of the “World’s Greatest Places” and experience 47 creative sculptures in the first and only Underwater Museum of Art in the U.S.
Hilton Sandestin Beach’s Commitment to Art, Adventure,
and the Environment
BY ZANDRA WOLFGRAM AND HANNAH BURKE
For adventurous guests looking to dive deep into the Gulf of Mexico, Hilton Sandestin Beach has played a pivotal role in supporting an extraordinary eco-art attraction: The Underwater Museum of Art (UMA). As the first permanent underwater sculpture garden in the United States, this unique museum showcases the hotel’s commitment to both environmental sustainability and the arts.
EXPLORE
ARTIFICIAL REEFS
Located just under a mile from Grayton Beach State Park at a depth of 58 feet, the Underwater Museum of Art features a rotating selection of sculptures installed annually by artists from around the world. These sculptures not only offer a breathtaking underwater art experience but also transform into living reefs, supporting local marine life and ecosystems.
Hilton Sandestin Beach is proud to sponsor a new sculpture each year as part of its efforts to promote ecotourism and support local artists. Among these commissioned works is Wave! by Benjamin Mefford (2019), which captures the natural flow and rhythm of the ocean. Dawn Dancers by Shohini Ghosh (2020) evokes a sense of serenity with figures that appear to move gracefully with the underwater currents. In 2022, We All Live Here by Merisol Rendon reminded visitors of the interconnectedness of marine life, people, and the environment. Quantum Reef by Chris Chubb (2023) offered an abstract, futuristic vision of marine ecosystems. The latest sculpture, Poseidon’s Throne by Nathan Hoffman (2024), invites divers to sit among the marine life, offering a regal seat upon which to observe the underwater beauty.
Beyond their artistic allure, the sculptures are vital to marine conservation efforts. Each structure quickly becomes home to a diverse range of marine life, fostering habitats for fish and other sea creatures. These underwater sculptures provide valuable data for marine scientists, ecologists, and students studying the positive effects of artificial reefs on the Gulf’s ecosystem.
For art lovers, divers, and marine enthusiasts alike, the Underwater Museum of Art offers a chance to experience art in a completely immersive and unique environment, showcasing Hilton Sandestin Beach’s ongoing dedication to culture, conservation, and adventure. UMAFL.org
In 2015, ecotourists and locals alike went crazy for the new artificial reef that debuted in Grayton Beach. This man-made structure was coined Turtle Reef, as it is shaped like a sea turtle when viewed from above. Since then, the South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA) has installed reef structures at 16 evenly distributed sites along the Walton County coast. Snorkelers and divers can find reefs taking the form of various ocean life to include a dolphin, a seahorse, a cobia, and others. Like natural reefs, these habitats attracted the attention of sundry marine creatures that now live and flourish in the newfound shelters. At the SWARA snorkel reef sites, families are invited to snorkel and observe a colorful array of fish, marine plants, and rare sea turtles as they weave through the towers of the reef. Conduct an underwater photo safari to capture the brilliance of the environment, skin-dive, or stay at the surface and fish from a kayak. And diving to further depths can be explored at the SWARA fish and dive reef sites. SWARAreefs.org
BIOPHILIA CENTER
Though the emerald-green waters of our beaches may get the most attention, visitors should know that Walton County is a natural wonderland upland, too. Fascinate your family with a visit to the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center, nestled in an enchanting longleaf pine forest in Freeport, just a short drive from the resort. The center, named for the worldrenowned biologist, explores the region’s rich biodiversity by way of trails, expert staff, interactive exhibits, and displays. The Biophilia Center hosts events for the benefit of conservation efforts that are open to the public upon
registration. Check the center’s website for public hours, and get ready to embark on an enriching adventure. EOWilsonCenter.org
EDEN GARDENS
When you meander in Eden Gardens State Park, you travel back in time. The first thing you see is an alabaster mansion known as the Wesley House. Dating to 1897, this house is now inhabited by antiques and vintage furnishings that provide snapshots of a bygone age. Take a guided tour, or feel free to roam the grounds. Weeping willows and oaks overhang impressive, green acreage ideal for picturesque picnics on the grounds or under the pavilions and for outdoor recreation. At one end of the property is Tucker Bayou, where anglers can spend the day casting from the docks. The gardens present a vibrant collection of flowers and shrubbery year-round. Hiking trails lead visitors into the natural areas beyond the ornamental gardens.
Morrison Springs County Park in Ponce de Leon encompasses 161 acres of preserved woodland. Trekking along in the shade of cypress and oak trees, you wind up at one of the area’s most striking natural springs. Submerged in the crystal-blue waters of the spring, which is about 250 feet in diameter, are several underwater cave systems, cementing its status as one of Florida’s finest dive sites. If your family doesn’t want to take that deep plunge, shallower depths serve ideally for swimming and kayaking. Snorkelers have the opportunity to encounter various species of bass, sunfish, and carp, as well as underwater flora that thrive in this hidden paradise. Picnic areas, docks, trails, and observatories supply all the necessary amenities for a perfect day.

TOPSAIL HILL PRESERVE
A local favorite destination, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park has it all. Its 3.2 miles of beach, tall sand dunes, and rare coastal dune lakes furnish endless activities to suit your family’s taste. Take a guided hike or navigate yourself through beachside byways, wetlands, and pine forests that are optimal for spotting birds wading and on the wing. Select trails are sites for caches if you’re a family of geocachers, so come prepared for an exhilarating treasure hunt. If walking’s not your style, bike along paved paths to Campbell Lake or catch a ride on the tram to the beach. There, you can sunbathe, search for shells, swim, or rent kayaks to paddle for the day. CREATE
THE SHARD SHOP
There are plenty of souvenirs available for purchase, but why not create something of your own to take home? Create something beautiful to commemorate your trip at the Shard Shop, a one-of-a-
kind studio that supplies guests with all the supplies necessary to make gorgeous works of glass. Here’s how it works: Each member of your family is given a blank canvas upon arrival. Draw out your design, and then fill it using pieces from an enormous collection of glass, shells, and other objects that sparkle or shimmer. Experienced teachers guide each participant and provide a safe method of creating standout art. Whether you create a beach scene or outline your favorite quote, your finished piece will be durable and will shine in your home. This is made possible by professionals who reinforce your design with resin overnight, preparing your finished piece for departure by the next day—almost as great as if 2014 South Walton Artist of the Year Mary Hong helped you make it herself! The shop has locations in Grayton Beach and seasonally in The Village of Baytowne Wharf (March-December). ShardShop.com

Hemali and Kishan Patel’s dreamy three-day South Asian wedding
BY ZANDRA WOLFGRAM
When Hemali and Kishan Patel envisioned their fall wedding, they knew they wanted to celebrate in a place close to their hearts. Having spent many vacations in the Destin area, the couple decided there was no better place to say “I do” than the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. The result? A breathtaking three-day South Asian wedding extravaganza that brought their families and traditions together in a stunning beachfront location.
“Planning a three-day South Asian wedding with five events is no easy feat,” Hemali recalls, “but the on-site wedding team at Hilton Sandestin Beach worked so closely with our planner Nadira that every detail was perfectly executed.” For a couple that had been dating for nine years, the momentous celebration felt long overdue, and they made sure every detail reflected their love and commitment.
With multiple events over several days, including a welcome party, ceremonies, and receptions, the on-site Hilton team left no stone unturned. “Angela and her team ran a tight ship,” says Hemali, “from check-in to the event space details. We never

had to worry about anything.”
One of the couple’s favorite moments? The sunset during the welcome party. “The DJ kept the dance floor alive, the food was amazing, and there was a picture-perfect sunset over the Gulf,” Hemali recalls.
Perhaps the most special memory for Hemali came as she walked down the aisle with both her parents. “All I could see was Kishan waiting for me at the mandap,” she says. “The beach, the weather, everything was perfect.”
For couples seeking a venue that accommodates largescale weddings without losing personal touches, Hemali and Kishan couldn’t recommend this special Hilton more. “They thought of everything,” Hemali beams. “Every detail was handled seamlessly, and our families could just enjoy the moment.”
This celebration wasn’t just a wedding; it was a culmination of years of love that honored family and tradition. The onsite Hilton weddings team made it not only possible, but magical.

PLANNING TIPS FROM THE PROS
Plan for the Weather
Take advantage of the beachfront location, but always have a backup plan for outdoor events. We offer beautiful indoor spaces in case of rain or inclement weather.
Work with Trusted Vendors Collaborate with experienced vendors familiar with the venue. We work with top local vendors and can recommend photographers, caterers, florists, and entertainment to ensure your vision comes to life seamlessly.
Consider a Welcome Event
Start your celebration with a welcome party to give guests a chance to settle in and enjoy the venue. A casual evening with cocktails, light bites, and a sunset view sets the tone for the festivities.
Customize Your Menu
Create a menu that reflects your culture and tastes. Our catering team can work with you to design a personalized menu that includes traditional or favorite dishes, accommodating dietary needs and preferences.
Use the Gulf as Your Backdrop
Make the most of the venue’s stunning Gulf of Mexico views for your ceremony and photos. Our outdoor deck and beach are perfect for capturing breathtaking moments with a beautiful natural backdrop.
Newly renovated board rooms, ballrooms, and the addition of innovative Palm Room (top right) offers even more beautiful and functional options for meeting and gathering.

When we turned onto the resort property and past the gate, we instantly felt a sense of luxury and relaxation wash over us. Our oceanfront room was beyond what we expected—the breathtaking views and comfortable surroundings were just what we needed.
A HEALING ESCAPE: Finding Rest and Renewal
Our first visit brought peace and rest, creating a tradition we’ve cherished ever since
BY ELIZABETH VAN RENTERGHEM
My husband, Brian, and I had our first son, Jack, in 2016. Shortly after, we found out we were expecting again. However, at 12 weeks, we learned our baby boy didn’t have a heartbeat. The grief was overwhelming, and we hadn’t taken time for ourselves since Jack was born. So, we decided to book a vacation at Hilton Sandestin Beach to reconnect and heal.
We spent our first day at the beach, enjoying simple pleasures like Chick-fil-A for dinner before watching planes from Eglin Air Force Base soar above us. By 8 p.m., we were exhausted—being new parents meant we hadn’t slept through the night in over a year. That night, we slept like never before.
The next morning, we woke up in disbelief. We had slept through the night! It felt like an out-of-body experience, a gift for two sleep-deprived parents. The room, the bed, and the ambiance had given us exactly what we needed—rest and rejuvenation.
Although it may seem like a small thing, that night of sleep was life-changing for us. It was the start of a much-needed reconnection after a tough year. Hilton Sandestin Beach holds a special place in our hearts for that very reason.
Since that first stay in 2017, we’ve added two beautiful daughters to our family: Maci, born in 2018, and Laci, born in 2021. We returned to the hotel in 2023, now with three kids in tow, and felt the same sense of comfort and peace wash over us when we arrived.
We’ve now been visiting Hilton Sandestin Beach for seven years, and each trip is as special as the first. We’re excited to return again to create more memories at what will always be our family’s favorite vacation destination.

A FAMILY TRADITION OF RELAXATION AT HILTON SANDESTIN BEACH
From business travel to college breaks, the Davidson family finds their oasis
BY JASON DAVIDSON
in Miramar Beach
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, I initially found Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa as a much-needed escape from the grind of international business travel. My first visit back in 2008 was the perfect combination of using Hilton Honors points and reminiscing about my own childhood trips to Destin. That trip ended up being the start of a yearly tradition for my family—my wife Autumn, our two sons, William and Travis, and me.
Back when the boys were just 2 and 4 years old, we were looking for a place where we could relax and truly unwind. Autumn made one thing clear—there would be no condos and absolutely no cooking on vacation. Hilton Sandestin Beach proved to be the perfect fit: The resort took care of everything. Over the years, it has become more than just a place to escape—it’s where we all come to recharge.
William has always loved the beach, and now that Travis is older, he tells me how much he looks forward to sitting and relaxing after a tough year at school. For me, though, one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is the resort’s commitment to constant improvement. Every year, I’m amazed by the upgrades and changes. Even when I think there’s nothing left to improve, they find a way to enhance the experience, which says a lot about their attention to detail.
Travis (above) and William Davidson began making family vacation memories at Hilton Sandestin Beach with their parents, Jason and Autumn, in 2008.
Over the years, we’ve built some great family traditions. Every morning starts with a walk on the beach after breakfast, and no trip is complete without a round of mini golf at the Dunes. It’s become our family’s little competition. And, of course, Autumn creates a Shutterfly photo book of every trip. We must have 16 of them by now!
Whether we’re renting kayaks, grabbing poolside burgers, or just soaking up the sun on the beach, Hilton Sandestin Beach has become more than just a getaway for us. It started as a way for me to decompress from work, but now it’s a special place where our family comes together, and I know we’ll keep coming back for years to come.
