Are you ready to receive some valuable feedback?
Working in partnership with The Playwright’s Laboratory, we are seeking new plays for a monthly series of table read sessions in our Lab studio theatre space. Your play will be worked on for a day with professional actors and a director before a live table read in the evening. As well as taking place in front of a live audience, the table read will be live streamed and also captured as a 360 VR film, which will later be shared on The Playwright’s Laboratory’s industry platform and available to be viewed by industry professionals globally.
What We Are Looking For…
We are looking for plays between 45 and 75 minutes long. There are no restrictions on theme however we will prioritise plays that we feel will resonate with our local audiences. Plays will be read by a diverse panel from The Core and The Playwright’s Laboratory and those that are likely to benefit most from the process will be selected. The Core is a fully accessible venue and we welcome scripts from D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodiverse artists and those from the global majority.
There will be one reading each month until June 2023. Upcoming deadlines for submissions are Sat 1 April and Mon 1 May.
We are only accepting submissions of new plays that have not received a reading or been performed previously. Full submission criteria can be found on our website. For more information, or to submit your play, please contact scripts@thecorecorby.com www.playwrightslab.com
