Welcome
A very warm welcome to our fun-filled, familyfriendly, fabulously-festive new season of shows here at The Core. You came in record numbers last year and so we wanted to make sure that we continued to give you the best possible chance to enjoy great nights out with your friends, families and loved ones right here in the heart of Corby’s thriving leisure quarter. As well as musicals, plays and bands in The Theatre, we’ve also given our Lab space a jolt of energy by putting on more live music, more charming family stories, and brand new comedy nights featuring the best up and coming comics on the circuit.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT! Why not visit one of our bars prior to your next visit? We open an hour before each show. Relax with us and enjoy a range of soft, alcoholic and hot drinks – perhaps a glass of wine from £3.60 or a bottle for only £13.50? You can take your drinks into all three of our spaces, and on certain events, we will create a pop up bar even closer to your seats. You can just relax and soak up the entertainment.
With our Get Involved programme going from strength to strength, our young people have lots of new performance opportunities from street dance to drama, and from creative writing to playing in a ukulele orchestra. And since it’s never too early to think about Christmas, we’re delighted to be producing the most warming and traditional Dickensian tale, A Christmas Carol, which couldn’t be more ‘mince-pie-and-mulled-wine’ if it tried. This season, of all seasons, it felt like The Core should be a joyous place to escape to, and we can’t wait to welcome you. Nick Walker Director
Ice cream, popcorn and sweets are also available. Treats start at as little as 80p.
NEW THIS SEASON! We are thrilled to announce that Screaming Blue Murder will be hosting a new Friday Night Comedy Club - see page 6 for details

Jason Byrne Is ‘Propped Up’
Tue 22 & Wed 23 November
Fri 25 November
Sat 26 November
From a cameo appearance at T In The Park in 2004 to opening the main stage in 2014, the past twelve years have seen The Red Hot Chilli Pipers become the most famous bagpipe band on the planet.
Jason Byrne Is ‘Propped Up’ is a brand new show from the very funny, very highly acclaimed, very absolutely trouser wetting, very ‘can’t watch much more as I think I’m going to die’ comedian.
Bagpipes with attitude, drums with a Scottish accent and a show that carries its own health warning, the bands achievements have reached incredible heights with their groundbreaking fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock and pop anthems which they proudly call ‘Bagrock’.
On his recent tour he re-introduced his prop comedy mixed with stand up and audience participation and audiences loved it. They wanted more silly props, giant ducks, rubber hands, owls, big wooden pegs and amazing magic stunts.

Rhyme Time
These fun and friendly sessions for children and their grown-ups include song, rhyme and stories, and are a great way to help language development.
Alongside our main programme, our Creative Projects work invites people from across Corby and beyond to Get Involved at The Core. We offer a variety of ways to connect with us, providing creative sessions for all ages that include a dance, drama, digital and performance focus, amongst others. Throughout this work we want people to have fun, learn new skills and perhaps to develop ambitions for themselves within the arts community. We have bursaries available for most activity - see page 31 for details. Visit our website for more information on how you can Get Involved.
