What’s to come Hands-on Training The Competition starts with a one-day in-person training session at the Shell headquarters in Thailand on Tuesday, 1 August 2017. You will get to learn more about scenarios, how they are built and then develop your very own for the competition. At least five members from each team are to attend this session.

Collaboration Space Teams can sign in to the collaboration space www.yammer.com/imaginethefuture20172018 to pose questions, respond to other students and review past experts calls.

Training – Expert Calls One-hour calls will be scheduled between August and October 2017, with experts from within Shell as well as externally.

Training – Advisors Calls Each team will get a training session with Mr. Doug McKay (Shell VP GR Asia-Pacific), Khunying Thongtip Ratanarat (President of PTIT) and Mr. Tansorn Pornpanyapat (Assistant Director of UddC).

Competition Milestones

2018 JULY

3 July 2017 – 31 August 2017 no later than 1200hrs Competition registration opens and Eligible Students can register to participate in the Competition in accordance with Clause 7(a) by 21 July 2017.

21 July 2017 Teams selected to proceed to Stage 2 are informed. At least three members of each selected Team are to attend the handson training organised by the Promoter on 1 August 2017 (Tuesday).

Deadline for the submission of digital/soft copy and any physical models and/or printed display materials they intend to exhibit (the “Display Exhibits”), if applicable. The submitted materials will be used for the final presentation of their scenarios in the format as required and as set out in Clause 7(b) below together with a written description

Regional Finals – Panel of judges shall select the winner of the Regional Competition.

The Display Exhibits shall be delivered to: Khun Hataitip Othakanon 10 Soonthornkosa Road, Klongtoey, Bangkok, Thailand 10110. Kindly factor in the time required for a visitor registration process. Teams are each given a budget of THB2,500 for the display exhibits for the national competition. These are to be claimed from the national organisers with valid documentation from the university/facility.

20 January 2018 Finals – Presentation at Make the Future event in Bangkok. Judges will decide on the Presentation score and finalise the total score. The Winner will be announced.

6 March 2018 Regional Finals Teams go on a one-day experience in Singapore as part of their national win.

7 March 2018 Regional Competition Winners rehearse for their Powering Progress Together presentation.

8 March 2018 Regional Finals Teams and representatives from the Singapore Competition attend the Powering Progress Together forum and Make the Future 2018.

FAQs 1. Is there any set length or format for the submission? No there isn’t. Consider what will help to bring across your scenarios clearly. More is not always better. 2. Is there any set format for the presentation? Similarly, there isn’t. You’re given 15 mins to present. Know that the judges will have gone through your written submission. Focus on the best way to help the judges understand and experience your scenarios.
