ART AND DESIGN EDEXCEL : A LEVEL ART AND DESIGN INTRODUCTION This course encourages students to develop: Intellectual, imaginative, creative and intuitive powers Investigative, analytical, experimental, practical, technical and expressive skills, aesthetic understanding and judgement An understanding of the relationships between art and artists and an awareness of the contexts in which they operate Knowledge and understanding of art, craft and design in contemporary societies, and in other times and cultures. LOOKING FURTHER AHEAD Art can open the door to careers in Graphic Design and Communication, Advertising, Furniture Design, Jewellery Making, Photography, Architecture, Interior Design, Textile Design, Fashion Design, Surface Pattern Design, Web and Game Design and many more. Students have gone on to attend Loughborough University and UAL to study Industrial design and photography.
