different parts of the world he has seen. Although most would like to leave a legacy behind, Billy realises that he’s fairly new to the position, and for that reason he has chosen to grow into the role, learn from the people around him and use that knowledge to offer visitors the best experience imaginable. “I know that through teamwork, we will not only continue to offer our visitors a thrilling range of exciting entertainment, we will also continue to provide a platform for one another to grow within our respective positions. This will also strengthen the family dynamic that currently exists within the organisation,” he quips. Billy intends on adding value to the group as he focuses on extending Peermont’s entertainment footprint with an amazing gaming team. When asked about the industry and what he enjoys most about it, Billy said – “I really enjoy

the fact that tomorrow is not going to be the same as today, and that today is not the same as yesterday, and the people you interact with every day are always different.” Billy, who holds a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from the University of South Africa, joined Peermont in 1998. Prior to that he worked in the gaming industry, where he also initiated the financial internal audit department and assisted in establishing a computerised gaming system in the Bahamas (Atlantis for the Kerzner Group). He then joined the Mpumalanga Gambling Board, where he was responsible for the establishment of the Investigations and Compliance Department and the design of the RFP process, licensee applications, selection process and the investigations into the applicants.
