WELCOME TO THE 17TH ANNUAL SHARE YOUR HEART BALL to benefit Camp Rainbow Gold. I’m not sure if you can all remember what you were doing back in 2003 but dreaming about this night is definitely what I was doing. Shortly before this time, during my very first Camp Rainbow Gold board meeting, we were informed that the organization was facing a difficult lack of funding. We knew we had to do something fast and go into action to fortify and sustain what Dr. Dave McClusky had founded back in 1984. Hence, the Share Your Heart Ball to benefit Camp Rainbow Gold was born out of my living room and has continued to go BEYOND all hopes and expectations we could have ever imagined. Share Your Heart Ball has created a community so committed to the hundreds of children and families we serve that they book their calendars out a year in advance to be a part of this very special evening. They volunteer during their short summers to provide our campers a memorable and safe camp experience in the breathtaking Idaho landscape. They donate throughout the year to ensure that our critical programming, services, camps and college scholarships will always be available to our children and families. This rockstar community is YOU, our donors and our steadfast supporters. You have helped us go BEYOND one night, one week or one year. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to camp. Very gratefully,

Kris Nardecchia (Cronin) and the entire Share Your Heart Ball Committee Co-Founder/Chair, Share Your Heart Ball to benefit Camp Rainbow Gold

WELCOME TO THE 17TH ANNUAL SHARE YOUR HEART BALL We’re thrilled and grateful to welcome you to the 17th Annual Share Your Heart Ball. Tonight, it’s our honor to take you on a journey beyond. be·yond (bē änd) adverb; at or to the further side of. The word beyond evokes action. It’s a goal; a destination. The next destination. At Camp Rainbow Gold, we strive to go beyond every day. Like the word itself implies, we’re always looking and moving forward. At Camp Rainbow Gold, the magic brought to life year-round by our volunteers, donors, supporters and families transcends the painful reality of cancer. It is through that spirit— of going beyond—that Camp Rainbow Gold continues to thrive. Tonight, we welcome you to join us in our celebration of each camper, family, volunteer, donor, supporter and program going above and beyond for our mission, our community and each other. BEYOND cancer. A cancer diagnosis can be all encompassing for a family. At Camp Rainbow Gold, while cancer may be the thread that ties us together, it does not define us. Far beyond the hospital room, Camp Rainbow Gold serves as a place for children, siblings and parents alike to seek refuge and truly be themselves. Our programs allow each person to build connections and form unique, often life-long bonds with relative strangers. BEYOND camp. For our families and campers, Camp Rainbow Gold is more than a week; it’s a lifestyle. Having a camp experience builds self-esteem, confidence, hope and love. Our year-round programs go beyond the summer and beyond the silliness and fun to help develop generous, responsible citizens. Our campers are becoming scientists, teachers and even doctors serving a new generation. BEYOND expectations. As camp goes beyond a week, your generous support has an impact well beyond this night. Our donors and supporters continuously go above and beyond expectations. Your donations help us to serve more than 400 Idaho family members. You have helped us to award more than $850,000 to campers pursuing a post-secondary education. This year, we filled two additional cabins of teens at Teen Oncology Camp. We continue to be at capacity for Sibling and Family camps. In total, we welcomed 25 new campers to our program thanks to your dedicated support. BEYOND a location. Our incredible reality has produced results beyond our imagination and beyond our current capacity. Now, we’re looking forward to the future. Our next destination. We are currently pursuing a property for a permanent Camp Rainbow Gold home and are excited to share that journey with you. Camp Rainbow Gold is grateful for your generous and continued support. We are made strong by love and made sustainable by you, our donors. Amanda Watson, Board President

Elizabeth Lizberg, Executive Director

BEYOND cancer

THE IMPACT OF A CANCER DIAGNOSIS spreads far beyond just one child or one family. However, in those same moments, a community of support, love, hope and understanding returns in abundance. Jeremy Rosser is an Idaho native, born in Boise and raised in the Wood River Valley. He learned to ski on Dollar at five and now skis the same hill with his four sons. Jeremy and his wife Bekah have six children, Benaiah (11), Justus (10), Caleb (8), Gabriel (6), Genesis (3) and Naomi (2). In March 2012, after a routine doctor appointment, Jeremy, Bekah and Benaiah were directed to Boise for an urgent blood transfusion and a bone marrow biopsy. Benaiah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when he was 4. Benaiah was in the fight for his life, but they weren’t alone. Caring and competent doctors, nurses and hospital staff guided the family every step of the way. The Rossers engaged their community, leaning on family and friends for critical support. The staff at MSTI clinic in Boise introduced them to Camp Rainbow Gold. Jeremy recalls, “I never had the opportunity to be part of something so widespread, this thing has literally spread all over the world and that just confirms an amazing truth of life, this is so much bigger than me or even Benaiah.” Now, Benaiah is doing amazing! He finished treatment the week before his little sister was born in the spring of 2016 and they attended their first family camp. Genesis was 3 weeks old and is still the youngest “camper” to ever attend camp. Benaiah and Justus both attended camp in 2018 and had the time of their lives. Justus was able to meet kids who can relate to having a sibling with cancer. “There are not a lot of people in our valley who have been through childhood cancer and I don’t think Justus has ever spent any time, apart from family camp, with other kids in that boat,” Jeremy said. Benaiah had a blast at Youth Oncology Camp and loved the whole experience. “What CRG has done for our family is hard to put into words because it is something felt deep inside that is hard to articulate. Camp provides a place where families and kids can be free— free to live, free to play, free of cancer and its effects, if even for just one week.”

It inspires a cult-like following including famous chefs such as David Chang and the late Anthony Bourdain. According to Chef John Currence, "There's Pappy Van Winkle, then there's everything else." Bourbon aficionados show up in droves for the small chance of a lottery to purchase a bottle called, "The bourbon everyone wants, but no one can get!” INCLUDES • One 750 ml bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 15 Year Bourbon Whiskey COURTESY OF Jennifer and Shane Jones RESTRICTIONS Must be 21 years of age to enjoy this beverage. YOUR RAFT "OAR" MINE A world class O.A.R.S. rafting experience will have you and a guest reveling in one of Idaho's most beautiful landscapes. Idaho’s Lower Salmon River is home to some of America’s most peaceful inland river beaches, sandy and sprawling alongside clear, mellow pools which are perfect for stand-up paddle boarding and playing in inflatable kayaks. It meanders warm, wide and mellow, making it a great rafting getaway for families and first-time rafters. Soak up the sun. Ramble with the river. The Lower Salmon River exhibits a side of Idaho seldom seen by most visitors. Distinguished from the forests and mountains that make up much of Idaho’s wilderness, this river runs through the warmer, drier canyon country of the Seven Devils. Tonight’s artwork came to life as a representation of something deep inside, a melding of emotion to create something powerful, just like time spent at Camp Rainbow Gold.
