Saturday 10 September 2022 1.15pm, 2.30pm & 3.45pm Join Wembley Park and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (also known as the RPO) for the second edition of Wemba’s Dream – a free performance of music, dance, poetry and carnival arts that celebrates the people who journeyed to Brent and made it their home. Many centuries ago, a traveller called Wemba finished their journey here in Wembley – the first of generations of people who built their lives in Brent. Local artists have collaborated with the RPO to create a unique performance, specially designed to be performed in Green Parking at Wembley Park. It will feature an orchestra of over 50 players, a procession led by Mahogany Carnival Arts, music by composer Dani Howard, a steel pan band, spoken word poets, an electric harp, and Indian Kathak dancing.

What is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra?
The RPO is a group of over 70 musicians who collaborate on stage, playing more than 30 different instruments. We play in lots of different places across the world and record film and video game music, but our biggest audience has to be for our recording of the UEFA Champions League Anthem: 380 million people worldwide heard that during the 2021 Champions League Final! We are passionate about including people of all ages and backgrounds in our musicmaking, especially through our awardwinning RPO Resound programme. Over the last 15 years, we have worked with more than 9,000 young people in Brent, including making an anthem for the UEFA Women’s EURO this year. The RPO will soon be making its home in Brent. We really want to meet and get to know you, our new neighbours, so please come and say hello.
