The cel is trimmed to 8 x 6.25 placed on a color copy background from the famous ‘Tony’s Restaurant’ scene. Image measures 6.5 x 4.75, with overall dimensions of 17 x 11. In fine condition. The cel is trimmed to image and placed on a hand-painted custom-prepared background. Image measures 1.5 x 3.5, with overall dimensions of 10 x 12. In fine condition. 476. Edgar Rice Burroughs Typed Letter Signed. TLS, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, personal letterhead, May 20, 1930. Burroughs writes a letter to Benjamin Weil, in part: “I have not as yet completed the Tarzan story that I am working on and do not as yet know its title or in what magazine it will be published, though probably in Blue Book. THE APACHE DEVIL, a sequel to THE WAR CHIEF, appeared in Argosy All-Story Weekly May 19th, 1928, to June 23, 1928 inclusive. I do not know when it will be published in book form.” In fine condition. 477. François-René de Chateaubriand Autograph Letter Signed. French writer, politician, diplomat and historian (1768–1848) who founded Romanticism in French literature. ALS in French, signed “Ch.,” one page, 5 x 7.75, April 6, 1834. Handwritten letter to the “Duc de Noailles,” in part (translated): “Really, Monsieur le Duc, I am sorry for your trouble. Mad. de Ch., far from being better, suffers more, and I am so tired that I dare not, on leaving the room, lock myself in a chapel.” Addressed on the integral leaf in Chateaubriand’s hand. In fine condition, with a split to the hinge and some paper loss to the integral address leaf. Starting Bid $200
