The Beatles celebrate their latest film, Magical Mystery Tour, sign for their youngest costar

5001. Beatles Signed Magical Mystery Tour EPObtained at the Film’s Launch Party at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel (December 21, 1967). Exceptionally rare Parlophone Records Magical Mystery Tour double EP record by the Beatles, signed and inscribed on the inside front cover and opening booklet page in pencil, “To Nichole, love, John Lennon, x,” “Love, Ringo Starr,” “Paul McCartney,” and “Love from, George Harrison.”

The consignor notes that the signatures were obtained by Nicola Hale, who starred opposite the Beatles in the Magical Mystery Tour film and is credited in the offered booklet as ‘The Little Girl.’ Hale obtained the signatures at the film’s launch party held at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on December 21, 1967, and, as such, the booklet is also signed by six other

attendees from the party, including cast members George Claydon, Shirley Evans, Victor Spinetti, and Derek Royle, filmmaker Peter Theobald, and pop singer Lulu, who famously scolded John Lennon for his drunken flirtations towards Pattie Harrison at the party; Lennon’s inebriated state may also explain for his misspelling of the recipient’s name.

The complete signed EP is attractively matted with a large color image of the band, a second Magical Mystery Tour EP (with removed pages to show front cover and inner vinyl sleeve, the latter with a reference to ‘Little Nicola’), and a typed caption indicating that the booklet was previously sold at Christie’s in 1998. First pressing of the Beatles’ debut single, signed the day after its release

5003. Beatles Signed ‘Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You’ 45 RPM Single Record - Parlophone UK First Pressing. Exceptionally rare and desirable Parlophone UK first pressing of the band’s debut single, ‘Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You,’ signed on the label in black ballpoint by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. This first pressing has the ‘Type 1’ label with “Made in Gt. Britain” below the Parlophone logo and has a “ZT” tax code and matrix number of “7XCE 17145-1N.” Handsomely mounted, suede-matted, and framed under Tru Vue Museum Glass with an early portrait of the Beatles to an overall size of 15.25 x 22. In fine condition, with silvering to dark areas of the photo, which could easily be replaced. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, noting that “the autographs were obtained at a record signing session at Dawson’s Music Shop, Widnes, England, on 6th October 1962 just one day after the record’s release.” Also includes the original multicolored ‘Type 1’ Parlophone record sleeve.

Perhaps most interesting about this single is the rarity of the music itself-only the first UK pressings used the ‘Love Me Do’ track recorded in studio with Ringo Starr as the drummer. Dissatisfied with Ringo’s work, producer George Martin hired Andy White as a session drummer and had them record a second version. All future British pressings of the single, the American release, and their Please Please Me debut album used the track featuring White on the drums; the version of the song on this 45 has only been sporadically re-released on compilation albums of rare or unusual Beatles recordings. 5004. Beatles Signatures on a Swedish Press Pass (Obtained at the Eskilstuna Sporthall on October 29, 1963). Vintage ballpoint signatures, “Beatles, Ringo Starr,” “George Harrison,” “John Lennon,” and “Paul McCartney,” on the reverse of an off-white 4.5 x 3 press pass for the newspaper Tidningen Folket, issued to a journalist for a reserved seat at the Beatles concert that took place at the Sporthallen in Eskilstuna, Sweden, on October 29, 1963. In fine condition, with small areas of surface loss. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: “Autograph obtained at the Beatles concert in Eskilstuna Sweden 1963. I was there with 2 friends 13 years old. My father worked at the concert and he took us backstage to meet them and get the autographs.” Starting Bid $1000

The Fab Four play BBC’s Saturday Club for the last time

5005. Beatles Signatures (Obtained at London’s Aeolian Hall on November 25, 1964 - The Band’s Final BBC Radio Saturday Club Performance). Attractive vintage ballpoint signatures of the Beatles—“John Lennon,” “Paul McCartney, xx,” “Ringo Starr,” and “George Harrison,” who adds the inscription “To Anne Love from”— on an off-white 8 x 6.5 sheet. The consignor notes that the signatures were obtained at Aeolian Hall in London, England, on November 25, 1964, when the Beatles appeared on the BBC Light program Saturday Club for the 10th and last time. The recording for the show took place between 7:00 pm and 10:30 pm, including rehearsal time, and the program was broadcast on BBC radio on December 26, 1964. In very good to fine condition, with two tape stains, light creasing, and intersecting folds. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a signed letter of provenance from the original recipient, who was married to the show’s producer. Starting Bid $1000

The Beatles play Blackburn to close their 1963 UK Tour with Roy Orbison

Page removed from a program for the Beatles’ 1963 UK tour with Roy Orbison, 8 x 10.25, signed next to their images in black ballpoint, “Paul McCartney,” “John Lennon,” “George Harrison,” and “Ringo Starr.” The consignor notes that her mother obtained these signatures after the Beatles played at King George’s Hall in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, on June 9, 1963, dating to the last show of their UK tour with Roy Orbison; incidentally, the lyric ‘4000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire’ was also part of the 1967 Beatles song ‘A Day in the Life,’ which appeared on the group’s 1967 album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. In very good condition, with overall creasing, intersecting folds, a couple of short edge tears, and some surface and paper loss to the corners. Although Orbison was originally scheduled to be the headline act, the public’s reaction to the Beatles tour resulted in them being co-headliners, with the Fab Four closing the set in the traditional headlining spot. In very good condition, with staining and soiling, corner creases, and old tape from a clipping on the photo side touching Lennon’s sentiment. Vintage dinner menu from the Hotel St. George in Wellington, New Zealand, dated to June 22, 1964, one page, 5 x 8.25, signed in black ballpoint by John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The menu is also signed by John Lennon’s aunt Mimi Smith. In very good to fine condition, with some light creasing and scattered light foxing.

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, a modern photo of Lennon with his aunt, and a letter of provenance, which reads: “The Beatles arrived in Wellington on 21st June 1964 for what was their only tour of New Zealand. They played in Wellington on 22nd and 23rd June 1964. This menu was from the Beatles meal at St Georges Hotel in Wellington where they dined with a New Zealand family member. It is an original signed by John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and John’s Aunt Mimi, who traveled to NZ with the Beatles and stayed with family relations. 5011. Beatles 45 RPM ‘Demonstration Record’ Single for ‘Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You,’ with ‘McArtney’ Misspelling. Extremely rare Parlophone ‘A-label’ 45 RPM demonstration single of ‘Love Me Do’ / ‘P.S. I Love You’ by the Beatles, with “McArtney” misspelling and catalogue number “45–R 4949.” This unique demo was the first official pressing featuring John, Paul, George, and Ringo on the same single, (pressed in September 1962), and only 250 copies of the disc were produced and sent to radio stations for promotion. Record label matrix numbers on side A (7XCE 17144 1N) and B (7XCE 17145 1N), with stamped tax codes of “ZT” and “JR.” Includes the original ‘Top Pop’ sleeve. In very good to fine condition, with creasing, and a small tear, to the sleeve. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. Starting Bid $1000

Extremely rare ‘first state’ mono version

of

the Beatles’ infamous butcher cover

5012. Beatles ‘First State’ Mono Butcher Album (AMG 5) Extremely Rare. The Beatles Yesterday and Today mono ‘first state’ butcher cover (Capitol, T2553, 1966). This ‘first state’ version features the notorious ‘butcher’ cover in which the Beatles are seen in butcher smocks draped with meat and plastic doll parts; ‘first state’ signifies that this is an original example that never had the ‘trunk cover’ paste-over applied. The record is included. Encapsulated and graded by AMG with a grade of 5 (Good (G), Open, Packaging: 5, Media: 7). Accompanied by an AMG statement of archival.

Within days of releasing this miscellany of previous hits, Capitol recalled all copies in response to retailers’ negative reactions to the original macabre cover image. The recalled copies were ‘retrofitted’ with a paste-over pictorial flat: an innocuous image of the boys posing around a steamer trunk; these new flats were frequently peeled away by collectors to reveal the infamous butcher image below. First-state versions are among the most desirable and elusive of all Beatles collectibles. Starting Bid $500

First pressing of the Beatles’ second studio album, signed by Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison

5013. Beatles Signed Album (Lennon, McCartney, Harrison)With the Beatles. Very desirable 1963 Parlophone mono first pressing of the With the Beatles album, signed and inscribed on the reverse in blue ballpoint, “To Jennifer, love from George Harrison, xxx,” “Paul McCartney,” and “John Lennon, xxx.” In very good to fine condition, with moderate soiling, some light creasing, and a stray red ink mark touching Lennon’s first name. The record is included, with misspelled “You Really Gotta Hold On Me” and “Jobete” publishing credit on side two, identifying it as a first pressing.

Elusive signed ‘Bank of Tokyo’ check from John Lennon, payable to Jo Jo Johns, the personal assistant of the Beatles

5015. John Lennon Rare Signed ‘Bank of Tokyo’ Check - Made Payable to the Beatles Personal Assistant. Exceptionally rare Bank of Tokyo, Ltd. check, 6.25 x 3, filled out in another hand and signed nicely in black ink by John Lennon, payable to ‘Jo Johns – John Lennon Account’ for £789.50, March 8, 1976. In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.

The recipient, Jo Jo Johns, was a personal assistant to the Beatles who worked at the group’s offices at 3 Savile Row in central London from 1968 to 1975. Johns was also a friend of Lennon who helped the latter clear his house when he and Yoko Ono moved to New York in August 1971. Also of interesting association, Yoko Ono’s great-grandfather was Zenjiro Yasuda, the founder of the Bank of Tokyo. The family name of Yasuda had long been connected with the powerful zaibatsu, financial, commercial, and industrial worlds that fueled Japan’s business empire. To date, this is the only Lennon-signed Bank of Tokyo check to have been offered at auction. Starting Bid $1000

Lennon signs during a ‘69 visit to Scotland

5016. Beatles: John Lennon Signature. Vintage red ballpoint signature, “John Lennon,” on the reverse of an off-white 3.75 x 2.5 business card from The Scotch House in Edinburgh, a tartan and highland dress clothier. The reverse is annotated: “Thursday, 26 June 1969, John Lennon’s autograph on his visit to Scotch House.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.

During a break from the Abbey Road sessions in June 1969, John Lennon took his family to Scotland to visit his aunt in Durness, where he had spent joyful summer days as a child. On July 1st, he crashed his car on the narrow village roads, resulting in a period of hospitalization for himself and his family: Lennon was treated with 14 facial stitches, his wife Yoko received 14 stitches, and their daughter Kyoko received four. Lennon remained in hospital for five days. He later told reporters, ‘If you’re going to have a car crash, try to arrange for it to happen in the Highlands. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a letter of provenance from a previous owner, who states that the signature was obtained when the Beatles played a concert at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee, on August

19, 1966. Published in London in 1964, Lennon’s first literary effort is a thin volume comprised of nonsensical, disjointed short stories and line drawings. The first solo effort of any of the Beatles, In His Own Write remains a great showcase of Lennon’s creative talent.

The eighth date of the Beatles’ final tour took place at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee, where they performed two concerts. The tour, however, was mired in controversy arising from republished comments made by Lennon in a March 4th interview in the London Evening Standard newspaper, in which he stated that the Beatles were ‘more popular than Jesus.’ Starting Bid $500

Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in blue felt tip, “To Richard, Peace & love, Yoko Ono Lennon, Bel Air, Calif., August ‘70” and “John Lennon.” In very good to fine condition, with chipping and wear to the dust jacket, and one small stain to the signed page. A fantastic presentation copy of this uncommon Fluxus volume, famous as an early example of conceptual art. Starting Bid $300

The Phantom V hits the road— John Lennon’s tax disc for his legendary 1965 Rolls-Royce limousine

5021. John Lennon’s Vehicle Tax Disc for His 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Limousine. John Lennon’s original vehicle tax disc for his famous 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V limousine, affixed inside its original metal Rolls-Royce disc holder, which measures 3.5˝ in diameter. The 12-month license, numbered “5 0254307,” with May 1966 expiration, is annotated in ballpoint, “FJB 111C, Private, Rolls Royce.” The lower portion bears a paid price of £17.10 and is postmarked in Berkshire on June 3, 1965. In fine condition. The consignor notes that the tax disc was acquired by her aunt, who attended multiple Beatles concerts and fan-based events during her lifetime, including the 1982 Beatlefest in New York City, where this item was ostensibly obtained.

After registering the car on June 3, 1965, Lennon began modifications for the Phantom V, which included converting the rear seat into a double bed and installing a television, telephone, custom sound system, and refrigerator. Lennon then commissioned J. P. Fallon Limited to have the car’s classic black matte-finish elaborately painted over in the style of a psychedelic gypsy wagon. The Beatles rode in the Phantom extensively during their heyday between 1965 and 1969, including traveling to Buckingham Palace where they received their Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire medals from Queen Elizabeth II.

When Lennon and Ono left England on August 31, 1971, the Phantom V was shipped to their new home in New York, where it was used as a rental car to various stars in the city such as the Moody Blues, Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan. In late 1977, difficulties with the IRS forced Lennon to donate the vehicle, which was then in storage, to the Cooper–Hewitt Museum at the Smithsonian Institute to cover tax debt amounting to $225,000. Vintage ballpoint signatures of John Lennon and Ringo Starr on an off-white 8.25 x 3.75 sheet of music paper that also bears mock autographs of Paul McCartney and George Harrison, which were impressively accomplished by Beatles road manager Neil Aspinall. The signatures were obtained on February 9, 1964, after the Beatles’ historic debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the group’s first-ever appearance on American television. In

fine condition, with fading to both signatures, and a small chip to the bottom edge. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, the original transmittal envelope, and a letter of provenance from a relative of the original recipient: ‘‘I came into the possession of this piece as part of an inheritance from my late mother, Kathleen Chertok. My mother received it from her aunt, Pearl Chertok, who was the harpist on the Ed Sullivan Show. She was able to get the autograph after their performance on the aforementioned show.” Starting Bid $300

McCartney signs for himself and Lennon during the Beatles’ only tour of Oceania

Vintage circa 1964 TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways Limited) airline menu, two pages, 4.5 x 6.5, signed on the front in blue ballpoint by Paul McCartney on behalf of himself and his celebrated songwriting partner (“Paul McCartney, John Lennon”) and in faded fountain pen by Beatles bandmates, “George Harrison” and “Ringo Starr.” Also signed on the reverse in black ballpoint by their road manager, Neil Aspinall. The menu’s cover features an illustration of a smiling aboriginal boy with a Beatles ‘mop-top’ hairstyle, symbolizing the band’s universal appeal as ‘Beatlemania’ took hold worldwide. Below, the menu is imprinted “Your Beatle Menu,” with the “TEAL” acronym intersecting it diagonally. In very

good to fine condition, with the Harrison and Starr signatures uniformly faded but legible, and tiny pinholes to the corners.

Accompanied by letters of authenticity from noted Beatles experts Perry Cox and Frank Caiazzo, the latter writing: “Paul has autographed beautifully in blue ballpoint pen and has also signed on behalf of John Lennon, who evidently wasn’t available for an autograph at the time. Additionally, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have signed as well—but their signatures have faded significantly and are very light, yet visible…This menu was signed in June of 1964, when The Beatles were performing live in concert in Australia and New Zealand.” Starting Bid $300

Apple Corps, Inc. business check, 7.25 x 3.25, filled out in another hand and signed by Harrison, “George Harrison,” payable to Uni-Horse Tractors for £2.0.0, January 15, 1971. Handsomely double-matted and framed with a psychedelic portrait to an overall size of 13.5 x 20.5. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, in part: “The purpose of this letter is to serve as authentication for the signature of George Harrison… George Harrison has signed beautifully in blue ballpoint pen. This is the nicest he could have signed on that particular day.” Just days later, on January 23, 1971, George Harrison became the first solo Beatle to have a No. 1 hit when ‘My Sweet Lord’ went to the top of the UK single charts. Steeped in myth and legend— an exceedingly rare original abstract painting from Bob Dylan’s Woodstock years

5062. Bob Dylan Exceedingly Rare Original Abstract Painting (c. 1968). An unseen treasure from Bob Dylan’s Woodstock years—an incredibly rare circa 1968 original painting by Dylan, 24.5 x 30, with a colorful and energetic abstract composition featuring the large central outline of a bull. The canvas is filled in with captivating abstract shapes and patterns combined with recognizable imagery, including music notes, bow ties, animals, and segmented features. At the top is the red outline of a man in a brimmed hat—mirroring his own style during his Woodstock days (consider the ‘Nashville Skyline’ album cover)—which, as writer Anne Margaret Daniel has noted, functions as something of a self-portrait.

Dylan’s painting techniques range from thin background layers to thick impasto, with bright yellows, corals, and oranges juxtaposed against more earthly base layers of greens and browns. The painting is signed faintly on the reverse, “Bob Dylan,” with musical notes sketched below. Stretched over a wooden strainer with fixed joints, the work is unvarnished and exhibits some undulation, minor paint losses, and flaking; a complete condition report is available at RRAuction.com.

This remarkable artwork was presented by Dylan to a Woodstock-area resident, Sandy LePanto, in exchange for making an astrology chart. Writes Daniel: “Sandy was not only one of the most beautiful women in Woodstock at a time when there were many; she was a mystic, a channeler, a reader of stars, and maker of astrology charts for her friends. Mythologies fascinated her, and she read broadly and deeply in the legends of many cultures....Dylan gave Sandy a painting in exchange for the charts and readings she’d done for him. The old arts community of Woodstock worked on the barter system then, and to a degree still does today; people trading their expertise and creative output, rather than exchanging money.” The painting has remained in the family since that time, and was recently rediscovered as part of Sandy’s ex-husband’s estate.

Very few of Dylan’s early works are known, and even fewer have been offered at auction. The most famous of his paintings from this time period is the cover art for The Band’s 1968 album Music from Big Pink, featuring wide swaths of solid colors in the guitars, faceless figures, and, as Daniel observed, an elephant with tusks that quite resemble the bull’s horns in the present work. His self-portrait for Self Portrait (1970), executed using a similar impasto technique, is stylistically similar—flat in the Fauvist mode, with visible brushstrokes—although less complex. Recently, an unsigned abstract female nude done by Dylan in the 1960s, executed in a similar palette and owned by his manager Albert Grossman, was sold at auction for $100,000. Two other paintings of his are seen in the background of Jill Krementz’s November 1968 portrait of Dylan and George Harrison: one, a nude, today resides at the the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the other, accomplished in a similarly abstract manner, boasts the ‘man in a hat’ motif.

Bob Dylan’s visual art reflects a similar depth and complexity as his song lyrics, revealing the boundless nature of his creative spirit. In recent years, Dylan has continued to work as a visual artist, and is particularly well-known for his ‘Drawn Blank’ series—a visual autobiography capturing his life on the road—his ‘Mondo Scripto’ illustrated lyrics, and the critically acclaimed ‘Deep Focus’ paintings, completed during the pandemic. The rediscovery of this early painting—one of Bob Dylan’s earliest known canvases—represents a signal event in the story of his visual art, and the auction of the work offers the rare opportunity to connect with Dylan at the height of his avant-garde creative powers as the 1960s came to a close. The program has been folded open to the Hendrix-signed page, archivally corner-mounted, matted, and framed under Tru Vue Museum Glass to an overall size of 16 x 18. The inside of the program has also been signed by Cat Stevens, Engelbert Humperdinck, and John, Gary, and Scott Walker. Buried behind the chart-topping Walker Brothers, Cat Stevens, and Engelbert Humperdinck, the Jimi Hendrix Experience received modest billing at the start of the tour. Recording with Little Richard (Boston, 1965). Incredibly rare original recording of Little Richard’s show at the Back Bay Theatre [formerly the Donnelly Theatre] in Boston in 1965, backed by then-unknown Jimi Hendrix as a guitarist in his band; the date of the show is believed to be May 12, 1965, as reported in the book Becoming Jimi Hendrix by Steven Roby and Brad Schreiber.

That date corresponds with music writer Peter Guralnick’s recollection of the show. In his May 2020 Rolling Stone obituary of the legendary artist, ‘Remembering Little Richard’s Kind Heart

and One-of-a-Kind Soul,’ Guralnick remembers: ‘I don’t know anyone who could work a song better in live performance. I’ll never forget his headlining a soul show at the Donnelly Theatre in Boston in 1965, bringing the crowd to a riveting climax as he left the mic and crossed over to the lip of the stage, with an unknown Jimi Hendrix playing guitar behind him. For close to 10 minutes, Richard continued to sing, expound, and expand upon the classic 1950s ‘inspirational’ number ‘Shake a Hand,’ all without benefit of vocal amplification, as he and the audience entered into the kind of trance-like state that only James Brown and Solomon Burke (both of whom revered him) could equally inspire.’

The recording was made by Boston radio personality Little Walter DeVenne on a Scotch 190 reel at 7.5 ips, and originates from his personal archives. The show opens with a 10-minute section of Hendrix playing with Don and Dewey, including the classic ‘Shotgun.’ Then, the emcee enthusiastically introduces Little Richard and his band: “I’d like for you to get together and welcome a young man who is delicate. Prettier than Cassius Clay. Swings harder than Roger Maris. He has more hits than Willie Mays. I want you to put your hands together now and make him feel good. You make him feel good now! Some of you girls can make him feel good later. Let’s hear it now, a big hand for Little Richard!”

Screaming fans give way to dramatic horn overture that breaks into Little Richard on the mic: “As pretty as I am…I want to say to you all that I am not conceited, I’m convinced [laughter and applause]. Thank you. And the next time you see Cassius Clay, you can tell him Little Richard is here.” He fervently crescendos into an introduction of their first song, a cover of the Beatles’ hit ‘I Saw Her Standing Here.’ Guitars start chugging to keep the time, the audience claps along, Richard belts out the enduring Lennon-McCartney number, and Hendrix closes the tune with a bluesy lick—a moment for him to shine behind Little Richard’s rapturous flamboyance.

Richard then sits down at the piano for their rendition of ‘Lucille,’ the band providing the uptempo backing for his piercing plea: ‘Oh Lucille, please, come back where you belong.’ They slow things down for a rendition of ‘Send Me Some Lovin’,’ featuring a great saxophone solo, then pep right back up for a medley of Little Richard classics: ‘Rip It Up,’ ‘Tutti Frutti,’ and ‘Jenny, Jenny.’ Changing the pace again, Richard sings and screams the ballad ‘Shake a Hand’ over his able band, the clean guitar part setting the mood for the audience’s sing-along; Hendrix excels in his restrained role, careful not to upstage the bandleader while allowing himself some room for creativity as the song approaches the ten-minute mark. They close with a show-stopping cover of ‘Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.’

The young Jimi Hendrix had toured with the Isley Brothers in 1964, but, growing tired of playing the same set every night, left the band in late October. He soon joined Little Richard’s touring band, The Upsetters, and recorded his one-and-only single with Little Richard, ‘I Don’t Know What You Got (But It’s Got Me)’ in February 1955. In July, he appeared as part of Little Richard’s ensemble on Nashville’s Channel 5 Night Train—the earliest known film footage of the soon-to-be superstar—performing ‘Shotgun’ with Buddy & Stacey, in a rendition nearly identical to the version on this tape. The present audio tape is the only known live-in-concert recording of Jimi Hendrix with Little Richard.

Later in the summer of 1965, Hendrix would be fired from Little Richard’s group as they clashed over tardiness, wardrobe choices, and Hendrix’s antics that had a tendency to upstage the frontman. Reflecting on their on-stage relationship, R&B artist Dewey Terry said: ‘Jimi would let the guitar feed back and that would piss Richard off because it would cover up his vocals.’ Graham Nash also recalls witnessing an instance of Little Richard’s coarse reaction to Hendrix’s electrifying showmanship, the bandleader shouting: ‘Don’t you ever play your f*cking guitar behind your head again, don’t you upstage me, I’m f*cking Little Richard.’ Still, Little Richard’s boldness and unapologetic self-expression empowered Hendrix to embrace his own uniqueness and creativity as an artist. With much borrowed from his one-time mentor—the wild energy, stage theatrics, and exotic wardrobe—Hendrix would become an icon of the 1960s. In very good to fine condition, with slight fading to the pickguard signatures and noticeable wear to the guitar, including several chips and dings to the body’s edges, missing pickup switch cap, and a missing string. Original Eric Easton Ltd. performance contract, one page, both sides, February 3, 1965, containing an emergency contract in which “Rolling Stones Ltd.” and “The Original Checkmates” agree to “appear at 28 Evening performances” for 14 days starting on March 5, 1965. Signed at the conclusion by a representative on behalf of the Original Checkmates, who supported the Rolling Stones on their 1965 UK tour, and reverse features a printed schedule of the performances, which begins on March 5th at the Regal in Edmonton and ends on March 18th at the A.B.C. in Romford. 5094. Keith Moon Signed Smallpox Revaccination Card, Issued Before His 1973 Trip to Australia. DS, four pages, 4 x 6, stamp-dated March 16, 1973. A double-sided certificate of revaccination against smallpox, which has been signed on the front in blue ballpoint by Keith Moon, whose birth date has also been added in the same ink, “23 AUG 46.” The inside has been signed and stamped by vaccination professionals based in Chertsey. In fine condition, with minor loss to a lower corner tip. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. Moon would have received the vaccination for his upcoming trip to Australia where on March 31, 1973, he played the role of Uncle Ernie in the orchestral version of Tommy at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. 5100. Jim Morrison Typed Letter Signed to Tony Glover. TLS signed “J. Morrison,” one page, 8.5 x 11, The Doors letterhead, June 17, 1969. Letter to Tony Glover in Minneapolis, in full: “Enjoyed talking with you again. Keep in touch and hope to see you again…Enc: 2 books of private edition.” In very good condition, with scattered creasing, a tape-repaired tear to the top edge, and the letterhead uniformly faded. Originally enclosed with this letter were Morrison’s privately printed books, The Lords: Notes on Vision (see lot #5061) and The New Creatures (see lot #5062), both printed in limited runs of 100 earlier in 1969.

The recipient of this letter was none other than Minneapolis’s resident ‘Rock and Roll Renaissance Man,’ Tony ‘Little Sun’ Glover (1939–2019) who honed his talents as a musician, writer, and critic in the Twin Cities. A renowned harmonica player, he formed one third of Koerner, Ray & Glover, an influential blues trio during the early 1960s folk/blues revival that included ‘Spider’ John Koerner and Dave ‘Snaker’ Ray.

Glover befriended Bob Dylan in the Minneapolis coffeehouse scene where they would on occasion share the same stage. He was one of the few hometown friends that Dylan stayed in

touch with after going to NYC, and Dylan dedicated his prosepoem contribution to the 1963 Newport Folk Festival program to Glover, calling him a ‘best friend in the highest form.’

At the Minneapolis Concert Hall on November 10, 1968, Glover shared the stage with Jim Morrison and The Doors, playing harmonica on ‘Back Door Man,’ ‘Little Red Rooster,’ ‘Wild Child,’ ‘Money,’ and ‘Love Me Two Times.’ The show received positive reviews, and Glover’s interview with the group—including manager Bill Siddons, was published in Circus magazine in four parts from March–July 1969. Interestingly, a local newspaper’s coverage of the concert noted: ‘Tony Glover would appreciate if anyone who happened to have taped the Doors concert—quite accidentally, of course—would get in touch with him through Melvin McCosh of McCosh’s Bookstore.’

In addition to his work as a musician, Tony Glover was an experienced music journalist and critic who contributed to the ‘Little Sandy Review’ folk zine; crafted reviews and conducted interviews for Rolling Stone, Circus, Creem, and other media outlets; co-authored the only biography of the great blues musician Little Walter; and created several influential blues harp songbooks. Impressive handwritten poem by Morrison, unsigned, one page both sides, 7.25 x 11.5, no date, removed from a composition notebook found in the famous ‘127 Fascination’ box left to his girlfriend Pam Courson. Magnificent handwritten poem, the first side labeled page number “35,” reading, in full (spelling and grammar retained): “Onyx breath / dysentary / you should have seen / Denver St. Louis / & Chicago / I Know / swollen red-faced / babie’s skull / We like to climb.” The reverse, page number “36,” in full: “Hey what I got was / that he was too fast / O No! / an old cunt just / imposed double head / I can go either way / a nickle for a sermon / this place / but this place / it was all/ a double sermon / My Cane.” In fine condition. The ‘127 Fascination’ box contained hundreds of pages of drafts and manuscripts of Morrison’s unpublished writing, this page of poetry among them. The Doors frontman’s true passion was poetry, famously regarding himself as a writer and poet as much as a singer; one motivation for his departure from the band was to focus on his writing. This is a wonderful representation of Morrison’s poetry, embodying the cryptic irreverence seen throughout his work. Any handwritten material from Morrison is quite scarce, with this being an ideal example as an unpublished poetic piece. Starting Bid $1000

This iconic portrait was captured circa 1969 at Venice Pier by noted rock photographer Henry Diltz. The Doors came to be one of the most popular and successful American rock bands of all time, and Morrison one of rock’s most legendary frontmen. Morrison remains highly elusive across all signed formats, with this striking example representing one of few autographed photos we have ever offered. Original mimeographed script for “The Hitchiker: A film idea by Jim Morrison,” 11 pages, 8.5 x 11, which would become ‘HWY: An American Pastoral,’ a 50-minute experimental film by Jim Morrison, Frank Lisciandro, Paul Ferrara, and Babe Hill, shot in the spring and summer of 1969, starring Morrison as a mysterious hitchhiker. This is Paul Ferrara’s copy of the script and features his annotations throughout, with budget notes, film editing notes, corrections on the script that Paul and Jim discussed when making HWY. In fine condition, with general overall wear from use.

Accompanied by a handwritten letter of provenance signed by Ferrara, in part: “This script was written by Jim Morrison, intended to be a screen test. He had offers from Hollywood for acting possibilities and was shy being in front of camera. I suggested we shoot a screen test. Jim wrote this script entitled ‘the Hitchiker.’ It was bigger than I intended so we decided to shoot the hitch-hiking sequence. I scouted locations in and around Palm Springs and we proceeded to shoot. What we shot turned into a film that Jim edited with Lisciandro that he called ‘HWY.’” One of Morrison’s best friends, Ferrara took many famous photographs of the Doors icon, co-directed HWY: An American Pastoral, and directed the behind-the-scenes Doors documentary Feast of Friends. Marvelous original mixed media artwork accomplished by Miles Davis on high-quality white 12.75 x 1.5 Fabriano artist’s paper, signed in the lower left, “Miles!” The vivid, vibrant drawing shows dancers during a concert, with silhouetted figures in the foreground. Handsomely mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 25 x 31. In fine condition. In Lynne Clifford’s tribute to Davis, she writes: ‘Energy, kinetic and frenetic, flowed not only from his horn, but from his pen and brush. After the high of a live performance, in the intervals between gigs, on a bus or a plane, Miles filled every free moment he had creating a different form of movement, his drawings. Never without a sketch pad, Miles would put pen to paper and capture the essence of a subject with a simplicity of line and a sharpness of focus that left no doubt as to what the subject matter was. In many, many cases it was the female form, in all its glory. Miles had an uncanny knack of steeping his women in an aura of sexuality, lithe, catlike movement and grace. Elvis Presley’s personally-owned gray Samsonite locking briefcase, measuring approximately 17˝ x 13˝ x 3˝, with a vintage red name label affixed on the top: “Elvis.” Inside is a black double-pocket folder and functioning key for the clasp locking mechanisms. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Elvis Presley’s bodyguard, Dave Hebler, in part: “For a number of years I was Elvis Presley’s personal bodyguard. Elvis gave me a number of personal items both while on tour and when I was with him at Graceland and his Beverly Hills home on Monovale Dr. This gray Samsonite briefcase stamped Elvis in red was given to me after one of his concert tours. Somebody had given him a new one and he asked me if I wanted it for my own purposes. I worked for Elvis from 1972 until 1976.”

5129. Elvis Presley: Blue Police Dome Strobe Light Gifted to Dr. George C. Nichopoulos. Police-style blue dome strobe light given by Elvis Presley to his personal physician, Dr. George C. Nichopoulos (known as ‘Dr. Nick’), so that he could get to Graceland in a hurry. The security light, a Smith & Wesson “Model L-11 Halogen Volunteer,” measures approximately 7˝ in diameter and 4˝ tall, and features a magnetic base and 12-volt cigarette lighter power cord. In fine condition.

Archive of material from Elvis Presley’s final tour in 1977, originating from the collection of Bruce Jackson (19492011), Elvis Presley’s concert sound engineer from 1971 until his death in 1977. The archive includes:

- Bruce Jackson’s “Elvis / On Tour / Show Member” backstage pass

- a mimeographed list of flight times for Presley’s final tour scheduled between June 16–27, 1977, plus a Delta Airlines passenger ticket and luggage tag marked “Jackson”

- a mimeographed one-page itinerary for “1977 Tour #5

(Under the Direction of Colonel Parker & Tom Hulett),” listing venues and hotels for Elvis’s last tour from June 17–26, 1977, culminating in his last show at Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana

In overall very good to fine condition, with some warping to the plastic of the tour badge. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold, certifying that he obtained the collection from Bruce Jackson’s widow.

Bruce Jackson worked closely with Presley during hundreds of shows, controlling the audio from his mixing desk at the side of the stage. Jackson noted: ‘Elvis wanted me to be right there next to him…He wanted me to watch him all the time and would look for approval when he had done unusually well.’ While uncredited, Jackson mixed the live sound captured on Presley’s albums ‘As Recorded at Madison Square Garden’ and ‘As Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis.’ At least 65 Presley concert soundboard tapes recorded by Jackson have been officially released. In August 1977, Jackson was in Portland, Maine setting up at the next Presley engagement when he heard that ‘The King’ had died.

Following Presley’s death, Jackson toured extensively with Springsteen and Streisand, as well as founding the digital audio company Apogee Electronics. In 2018, the coffee table book Bruce Jackson: On The Road With Elvis was published, with a foreword by Bruce Springsteen. Starting Bid $200

5135. Hank Williams and the Grand Ole Opry Signed Autograph Book - Signed at Williams’s 1949 Opry Debut. Fantastic vintage wooden autograph album from Nashville, Tennessee, 5.5 x 3.5, signed throughout by more than 80 performers at the Grand Ole Opry, dated from 1948 to 1950. The highlight is a ballpoint signature, “Best Wishes, Hank Williams,” with a collector’s date notation of June 11, 1949—the day that marked his Grand Ole Opry debut. Among the other notable signers in the album are Cowboy Copas, String Bean, Minnie Pearl, Ernest Tubb, Roy Acuff, Bill Monroe, Tex Ritter, and WSM radio host Grant Turner. In fine condition, with the end of Williams’ first name a bit light due to reduced ink flow. Accompanied by two Grand Ole Opry buttons (a backstage pass and a souvenir), plus five Grand Ole Opry ticket stubs from the era, and one WSM-Nashville Cedar-Crest Show ticket stub.

On June 11, 1949, 25-year-old Hank Williams made his historic debut at the Grand Ole Opry. With his distinctive voice, heartfelt lyrics, and unparalleled stage presence, Williams captivated the audience from the moment he stepped onto the stage at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. His performance that night, featuring songs like ‘Lovesick Blues’ and ‘Mind Your Own Business,’ showcased his raw talent and undeniable charisma, earning him thunderous applause—the crowd called him out for six encores and wanted more, but he had to stop to allow other musicians to play. This image was captured by photographer Don Hunstein during Joplin’s performance at the CBS/Columbia Records National Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico in July 1968. Joplin, along with Big Brother and the Holding Company, performed at the convention in celebration of their recent signing with the label. Indeed, Joplin’s breakthrough album, Cheap Thrills, would be released within weeks of this performance. Led by the raucous ‘Piece of My Heart,’ the record would spend eight nonconsecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard charts.

Manager Albert Grossman signed Big Brother and the Holding Company on the strength of Joplin’s performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in the summer of 1967. Even then, however, it was clear that Joplin was on another level from the rest of the band, and she would announce her intent to leave Big Brother shortly after her performance in Puerto Rico. Tragically, Joplin would be found dead of a heroin overdose at Hollywood’s Landmark Hotel on October 4, 1970. Rare 1978 Tuff Gong (Jamaica) pressing of Bob Marley’s legendary live album Babylon By Bus, signed on the back cover in blue ballpoint, “One Love, Bob Marley.” In fine condition, with a few light, unobtrusive surface creases. Both inner sleeves (allowing interchangeable cover imagery) and both records are included. The consignor notes that the records remain unplayed, and that the autograph was acquired by a customs officer at Heathrow Airport who met Marley a few times while clearing private planes in the late 1970s; Marley personally signed the album and gave it to him when leaving London for Germany.

Babylon By Bus was a sprawling live double album, recorded primarily during a three-night run of shows in June 1978 at the 10,000 capacity Pavillon de Paris in France. Additional recordings were captured in Copenhagen, London, and Amsterdam. The album showcases an extraordinary selection of Marley classics including: ‘Positive Vibration,’ ‘Jamming,’ ‘Exodus,’ ‘War / No More Trouble,’ ‘Stir It Up,’ and ‘Is This Love.’ By this point, Marley had been diagnosed with malignant cancer

of the toe. Regardless, his energy on stage was palpable. Amazing color 24 x 38.75 Island Records poster for the ‘Survival’ album by Bob Marley & The Wailers, featuring a huge portrait of the reggae icon surrounded by flags of Black nations, prominently signed and inscribed in thick green felt tip, “To David, Rasta Live, Bob Marley.” Affixed to a same-size mount and in fine condition, with edgewear and a few surface creases.

Accompanied by a detailed provenance statement from the original recipient, in part: “I was traveling through Atlanta in my 78 ford van on my way to Florida to spend the winter. I believe it was 1979 so I was 22. I was listening to the radio and the announcement came ‘Attention Reggae fans, Bob Marley will be at Turtles records on Jonesboro road at 4:30 today.’ I looked up and saw the next exit was Jonesboro road.

It was about 3:30 so I exited and found Turtles. I went in and asked the guy in there if Bob was really going to be there and he said yes. Since it was just an hour, I decided to go take a nap in my van. When I woke up it was after 4:30 but there was no crowd of fans. I went in and said to the guy, ‘I thought you said Bob Marley was going to be here.’

He replied ‘he’s right over there.’ Then I saw the top of his dreadlocks stuffed in a yellow wool stocking cap bouncing just above the row of records. He was very short. I met him at the end of the aisle. And we shook hands. There were only two older women and the guy working there. The women had already met him and were just hanging out in the corner. It was just me and Bob talking. I remember saying that ‘it scared me when I heard you got shot’ and he said ‘It scared I too mon.’ I had the Turtles guy take some pictures of me and Bob together. When I got the film developed, the pictures were all over exposed. Then Bob took me over to a table where he had a large stack of posters. I think he was a little disappointed that the only kid there was me, a tall skinny white kid. But he asked me if I would like for him to sign a poster for me. He remembered my name. I hung out a little while after that and no one else showed up…Then I said goodbye with another hand shake…I was fortunate enough to have seen him play two consecutive nights at the Roxy in Hollywood and at the Santa Monica Civic auditorium during the Rastaman Vibration tour. Tour” all-access laminate, a “Bruce Springsteen + E Street Band, Summer ‘85” laminated meal ticket, a Thrill Hill Productions laminated luggage tag, and spiral-bound itineraries—containing schedules and hotel, travel, and venue information—for several consecutive legs of the Born in the U.S.A. Tour, including: September ‘84, October–November ‘84 (2), December ‘84, January ‘85 (2), March–April ‘85, and August–October ‘85, plus a separate booklet for their time in Sweden in early June 1985. Additionally includes an official, oversized full-color tour program. In overall fine condition, with various wear and annotations to the tour itineraries from use. Bruce Jackson worked closely with Springsteen on the Darkness, The River, Born in the USA, Tunnel of Love Express and Bruce Springsteen 19921993 tours, as well as mixing sound for Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, and many other major artists (such as Johnny Cash, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, the Jackson Five, and Michael Jackson).

Springsteen wrote the foreword for ‘On The Road With Elvis,’ a book about Jackson’s work with Elvis Presley. In it he described spending countless hours with Jackson in an effort to ensure his audiences got ‘the best sound possible.’ Springsteen’s essay concludes: ‘But at the end of the day he was just a good friend. Dee Dee explores his own bipolar personality with eight original works of art

Suite of eight original pieces of artwork by Dee Dee Ramone, each accomplished in acrylic paint on canvas stretched over a 16 x 16 wooden frame, with Dee Dee dividing each work into halves of black and white and overlapping each with handwritten messages of red, black, or white paint. Each message relates to Dee Dee’s recognition of his bipolar personality, a disorder that he struggled with throughout his life and musical career; two of the works feature self-portrait sketches of his ‘good’ and ‘creep’ identities. Rudimentary in their presentation, the works are stark reminders of Dee Dee’s inner battles and appear to serve as therapeutic outlets. The messages, spelling retained, are as follows:

The paintings were done as a set and were painted in the loft of my uncle Arturo’s New York City apartment. Dee Dee has signed or incorporated his name into seven of the eight paintings. 5248. Prince’s Stage-Used Yamaha C5 Grand Piano from the ‘Piano & a Microphone Tour’. Prince’s stage-used black Yamaha C5 grand piano from the Australia/New Zealand leg of the ‘Piano & a Microphone Tour,’ played during his shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland from February 16–24, 2016. The piano is serial no. X6376754, and originates from the collection of Prince’s tour promoter. Renowned for their delicate attack, rich harmonics, and beautiful resonance, Yamaha’s C-series pianos are the most widely recorded pianos in the music industry: the C5 grand piano features a large 6’ 7” cabinet that offers increased volume and boldness, and was Prince’s personal choice for the Piano & a Microphone Tour—concert series that focused exclusively on his voice and his instrument. In addition to his two shows at the Sydney Opera House, Prince played this piano at the State Theatre in Melbourne, the State Theatre in Sydney, and the ASB Theatre in Auckland.

The piano currently resides in France, from where it will be crated and shipped; the buyer is responsible for all associated costs.

In a December 2015 interview in anticipation of the tour, Prince said: ‘I’m doing it to challenge myself, I won’t know what songs I’m going to do when I go on stage. I won’t have to, because I won’t have a band.’ Among the classics he played during his Australian shows were ‘Let’s Go Crazy,’ ‘Little Red Corvette,’ ‘Raspberry Beret,’ ‘Kiss,’ ‘Nothing Compares 2 U,’ ‘Diamonds and Pearls,’ and ‘Purple Rain.’ Each was an act of remixing and reinvention, with Prince forgoing his usual electric guitar for the Yamaha C5.

Exceptionally rare handwritten rehearsal notes by Prince from his 1988 Lovesexy Tour, which were almost certainly used by Prince for his performance at the Palatrussardi in Milan, Italy, on July 16, 1988. The notes, unsigned and penned in blue ballpoint on an off-white 6 x 8.25 sheet of Hilton International Milano guest stationery, provide detailed stage production and musical arrangements for the songs ‘Alphabet Street,’ ‘Positivity,’ and ‘Let’s Go Crazy,’ three songs from two of Prince’s most popular albums of the 1980s: Lovesexy and Purple Rain. A historically significant Prince offering that dates to his emergence as a nationally recognized star. Prince’s debut album, For You, was released by Warner Bros. Records on April 7, 1978, with the album’s first two singles, ‘Soft and Wet’ and ‘Just as Long as We’re Together,’ marking Prince’s first entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and the US Billboard Hot Soul Singles. Prince’s excited “Warner Bros!!!!” annotation is equally important given the artist’s eventual long and burdensome partnership with the record label. Exceedingly rare advance promotional cassette for the Prince single ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World,’ which was produced in minimal quantities (approximately 10) by ZYX Records UK when the company had been informed that they had acquired exclusive licensing to the song; the announcement had been premature, and the song was ultimately acquired and released via Prince’s NPG Records and by Bellmark Records. The black cassette tape, with “Prince / Symbol” label, includes its original cassette box with J-card printed by the Chop ‘Em Out facility in London, England. The J-card reads: “Symbol / Prince, ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World,’ ZYX Records.” In fine condition.

Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance from a former employee of ZYX Records UK: “While working for ZYX Records…during 1992/93, we were informed by our German

colleagues that we had secured the license to release the single ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World’ by Prince/Symbol. We then, as ZYX Records UK, proceeded to have some promotional cassettes made which were to be sent to the head buyers at the major music retailers (HMV, Virgin, etc.)…

We were then informed by our German colleagues that negotiations to secure the license had collapsed, and it had been premature to advise the UK branch that it had been secured. The single was subsequently released by a different record company, and promptly reached No. 1 in the charts.

Although ZYX Records UK has approximately 10 of these cassettes made, the included cassette is one of only two that I know to exist. It is probably the only time a Prince/Symbol single has appeared as a promotional copy on a record label, which did not in the end release the single.” Starting Bid $200

The custom-made jacket and pants are crafted from a sheer black-and-gray devoré fabric decorated with a vine pattern, backed by solid white. Prince’s personally-owned and –worn cream-colored plush wool coat, designed by Stacia Lang, lead designer of Prince’s wardrobe, as an ‘evolution’ of the long white coat which he had purchased from Claude Bonucci in Nice, France, while filming Under the Cherry Moon. This exquisite coat measures approximately 42˝ in length, and features five wool-covered buttons, two collar clasps, two front pockets, and a brilliant patterned satin lining with hidden pocket to left chest. Aside from its notable softness, the coat is accented by a myriad of golden embroideries on the cuffs, the front pockets, and on both sleeves, with each bearing the New Power Generation symbol (left sleeve is readable, right can be read via mirror). The back likewise features golden flourishes around a prominent central mandala. In fine condition, with a trace of foundation makeup inside the collar, which also bears toning from a wooden coat hanger.

During the Love Symbol era and his romance with Mayte, Prince became more and more interested in exploring ancient cultures with her and requested his wardrobe to integrate these elaborate ancient runes and symbols within the design of a handsome coat. Custom-made by Prince’s personal wardrobe

Prince’s pair of personally-worn black leather gloves from his wedding to Mayte Garcia on Valentine’s Day, 1996, featuring Zodiacal symbols appliquéd on the top of each hand: Prince’s Gemini symbol on the right hand, and Mayte’s Scorpio symbol on the left hand. The scarf segment measures approximately 25˝ long by 7˝ wide, and was tossed into the adoring crowd at the end of the show—where it was ripped to shreds by screaming fans, fighting over a relic worn by their idol. There were a lot of screams and tears everywhere! My friend and I were standing on the floor, close to the middle of the stage. Toward the end of the concert, Prince grabbed his long, black silk scarf from his neck, and threw it off the front of the stage, into a swarm of fans. I, along with several other fans, grabbed and held on! It began tearing into pieces. I held onto my piece, as others held onto theirs. I ended up with a 2 foot piece of his scarf. Accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Matthew Quast, who worked as a production film sound mixer and playback operator on the Prince films Purple Rain, Sign o’ the Times, and Graffiti Bridge. He writes: “This Paisley print tambourine was used by Prince and other members of his band, during rehearsals for the concert film Sign O’ the Times, which we shot entirely on the Paisley Park sound stage. One of Prince’s ‘signature’ tambourines that goes back to his Purple Rain period—an appealing dark purple double-row tambourine with a 10˝ open head used by Prince and the New Power Generation during rehearsals for the 1990 Nude Tour. Originates from the collection of Prince publicist/manager Jill Willis, who notes that the tambourine was “used and left onstage—I was doing some work at Paisley (visiting from New York) when Prince and the NPG were rehearsing for the Nude Tour in 1990. After the rehearsals had ended, I was talking to one of the employees in the soundstage and spotted the tambourine lying on the edge of the stage. Over 250 dyed fabric outfit samples for Prince’s extravagant Lovesexy Tour of 1988-1989

5252. Prince Collection of (250+) Dyed Fabric Samples for the Lovesexy Tour (1988-1989). Extensive PRN wardrobe department collection of over 250 pieces of dyed fabric swatches used to create the various iconic tour outfits worn by Prince and his bandmates during the Lovesexy period — every one of these dye fabric samples was presented to Prince and the wardrobe department for outfit approval.

The collection is highlighted by a three-ring binder that contains 68 sleeves and a total of 52 invoices that date from January 5, 1988, to December 4, 1988, with all documents issued by master fabric dyer Marliss Jensen at the Iris Color Studio (ICS) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. All of the invoices, which are annotated with sample descriptions and prices, are issued for “PRN,” with the majority presented with their original affixed fabric dye samples and embroideries. Also included with many of the invoices are the original dye sample request sheets that the PRN wardrobe department sent to ICS. These handwritten request sheets, which feature notes relative to the required fabric and dye, retain their finished request dye samples. Supplementing the binder is a large array of loose fabric swatches and buttons of varying shapes and sizes, design materials that proved essential to the ever-growing touring wardrobe of Prince and his band during this exciting time frame. Gauntlet Prototype Archive. Archive of material pertaining to the development of a metal ‘robot hand’ gauntlet for Prince, made by designer Liz [Wynne] Bucheit, highlighted by a paper pattern, inspiration imagery, correspondence with Paisley Park, and Polaroid photographs of the completed piece.

The archive begins with a letter on Paisley Park letterhead by wardrobe designer Heidi Presnall, dated February 1, 1991, discussing the project: “Enclosed you will find a sketch and a copy from a current fashion magazine showing the metal hand that we had previously talked about last week. This hand will need a mock up for both the left and the right hand as we yet do not know which hand Prince will choose to wear it on. The mock up should be made as inexpensively as possible. You will best know what materials to use. The hand size is a women’s 8 with slightly longer fingers. I cannot get a hand tracing for you, however, we can figure out the changes that will need to be made when we do the initial fitting.” Included are two pages removed from magazines, featuring a similar piece designed by Thierry Mugler used as inspiration, plus a photocopy of a concept sketch of the proposed design.

The designer’s preliminary quote for the piece—suggesting aluminum as the material, and proposing 17 hours of labor for a total cost of $450—is included, as is the paper pattern—individual pieces tied together with string—and three original Polaroid photographs of the metal mockup, one with some suggestions written on a note on the reverse. Additionally includes the metalsmith’s $250 invoice for the “’Robot Hands’ Prototype,” with PRN Productions paystub attached, as well as a later handwritten fax sent to Heidi Presnall. Voicemails from Prince—a unique 1987–88 answering machine audiotape

5286. Prince: Answering Machine Cassette Tape. RadioShack DuoFone 60-minute cassette tape from an answering machine containing three voice messages from Prince, annotated on one side, “7/22/87–9, 2 message from P,” and annotated on the other side, “9/9/87–2/3/88, 1 msg Prince.” The contents of the tape have been transferred to a digital audio disc. The first Prince message can be found on the first track at marker 2:10, in full: “Karen, this is, um, Prince. Call me.”

The second Prince message, found on track three at marker 4:18, in full: “Um, make sure you invite, um, if you get this message, Jerome and Bobby and Jimi Jam and those guys and any musicians in town. Bye.”

The third, on track seven, records the beginning of a conversation at 4:06 in the morning. Prince asks: “Hello. Can you turn your machine off, it’s Prince.”

The addition of ‘Manic Monday’ is of considerable interest and rarity. As this album indicates, Prince originally wrote the song to be included as a duet between Prince and Apollonia on Apollonia 6’s debut album. It was included as the third track on the February 29, 1984, and Spring 1984 configurations of the Apollonia 6 album, but was later withdrawn from the album before its release.

Two years later, he offered the single to the Bangles under the pseudonym ‘Christopher,’ a character he played in the 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon. Taken by the band’s 1984 debut album, All Over the Place, and the video for their ‘Hero Takes A Fall’ single, Prince offered the Bangles the song in May 1985, when the group was at Sunset Sound’s sister studio, The Sound Factory, recording their second album, Different Light. The song eventually became the Bangles’ first hit, reaching No. 2 in the United States—coincidentally, the song was kept from the top spot by Prince’s ‘Kiss.’ Starting Bid $200

Pair of Prince-inspired custom-made black-and-purple suede boots designed by Chris Francis, featuring Prince-played ‘symbol’ guitar picks on the front, with jeweled peace, love, and dove symbols on the front and sides. The high-heeled boots have golden heels and trim, with sparkling faux jewels throughout. Both are signed inside by Chris Francis, who designed boots for 3rdeyegirl and once upon a time made the heels for some of Prince’s boots. ANYONE EITHER REGISTERING TO BID OR PLACING A BID (“BIDDER”) ACCEPTS THESE CONDITIONS OF SALE AND ENTERS INTO A LEGALLY, BINDING, ENFORCEABLE AGREEMENT WITH R&R AUCTION COMPANY OF MASSACHUSETTS, LLC (“RR AUCTION”) TOGETHER WITH BIDDER, THE “PARTIES”).

This Agreement contains important provisions that control rights and liabilities, and specifically has provisions governing how disputes are handled as well as LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY that can be imposed upon RR Auction, WAIVER OF JURY and ARBITRATION PROVISIONS. This acknowledgement is a material term of these Conditions of Sale and of the consideration under which RR Auction agrees to these terms. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

The following terms and conditions (“Conditions of Sale”) constitute the sole terms and conditions under which RR Auction will offer for sale and sell the property on its website, and/or described in the catalog of items for auction (the “Catalog”). These Conditions of Sale constitute a binding agreement between the Parties with respect to the auction in which Bidder participates (the “Auction”). By bidding at the Auction, whether in person, through an agent or representative, by telephone, facsimile, online, absentee bid, or by any other form of bid or by any other means, Bidder acknowledges the thorough reading and understanding of all of these Conditions of Sale, all descriptions of items in the Catalog, and all matters incorporated herein by reference, and agrees to be fully bound thereby.

Section 1

The Parties1.1

RR Auction and Auction

This Auction is presented by RR Auction, a d/b/a/ of R&R Auction Company of Massachusetts, LLC, as identified with the applicable licensing information on the title page of the Catalog or on the www.RRauction.com Internet site. The Auction is conducted under these Conditions of Sale. Announcements and corrections from the podium at live auctions and those made through the Conditions of Sale appearing on the Internet at RRauction.com supersede those in the printed Catalog.

1.2 Bidder

Bidder shall mean the original Bidder on the property offered for sale by RR Auction and not any subsequent owner or other person who may acquire or have acquired an interest therein. If Bidder is an agent, the agency must be disclosed in writing to RR Auction prior to the time of sale, otherwise the benefits of the warranty shall be limited to the agent and not transferable to the undisclosed principal.

The rights granted to Bidder under these Conditions of Sale are personal and may not be assigned or transferred to any other person or entity, whether by operation of law or otherwise without the express written assent of RR Auction. Bidder may not transfer, assign, or otherwise convey these Conditions of Sale or any of the rights herein, and such purported transfer, assignment, or conveyance shall be null and void. No third party may rely on any benefit or right conferred on any Bidder by these Conditions of Sale, and no third party is intended as a beneficiary of these Conditions of Sale.

Bids will not be accepted from minor persons under eighteen (18) years of age without a parent or legal guardian’s written consent containing an acknowledgment of the Conditions of Sale herein and indicating their agreement to be bound thereby on behalf of the Bidder.

All Bidders must meet RR Auction’s qualifications to bid. Any Bidder who is not a client in good standing of RR Auction may be disqualified at RR Auction’s sole option and will not be awarded lots. Such determination may be made by RR Auction in its sole and unlimited discretion, at any time prior to, during, or even after the close of the Auction. RR Auction reserves the right to exclude any person from the Auction.

If an entity places a bid, then the person executing the bid on behalf of the entity agrees to personally guarantee payment for any successful bid and agrees to be bound by these Conditions of Sale in addition to company for whom the Bidder is acting

By accepting the Conditions of Sale, Bidder personally and unconditionally guarantees payment.

Section 2 Bidding Privileges

2.1 In order to place bids, Bidders who have not established an account with RR Auction must either furnish satisfactory credit information (including two collectibles-related business references) or supply additional information if requested, well in advance of the Auction. Bidders who are not members of RRAuction.com should pre-register before the close of the Auction to allow adequate time to contact references. Privileges will be granted at the sole discretion of RR Auction. Additionally, Bidders who have not previously established credit or who wish to bid in excess of their established credit history may be required to provide a cash deposit prior to RR Auction’s acceptance of a bid. Check writing privileges and immediate delivery of merchandise may also be determined by pre-approval of credit based on a combination of criteria: RRAuction.com history, related industry references, bank verification, a credit bureau report and/or a personal guarantee for a corporate or partnership entity in advance of the Auction venue.

2.2 Bidder providing any false or misleading information provided in connection with the registration shall be a material breach of the Conditions of Sale and in addition to any other remedies at law shall excuse RR Auction from performance under these Conditions of Sale, including the right to any refund.

2.2 Bidding privileges may be revoked without notice, for any reason, at the sole discretion of RR Auction .

Section 3 Buyer’s Premium

3.1 The Bidder acknowledges and agrees that a 25% buyer’s premium will be added to the hammer price on all individual lots sold in timed and live Auctions. . For payment other than by cash, delivery will not be made unless and until full payment has been received by RR Auction, i.e., check or wired funds have fully cleared. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, signed by RR Auction, payment in full is due within thirteen (13) calendar days of the Auction or within twelve (12) calendar days of the invoice date, whichever is earlier. Bidder’s failure to pay any payment in full when due required shall constitute a material breach, and in addition to other damages available under contract or law, at RR Auction’s election, RR Auction may cancel the sale and require full premium still be due along with interest at 1.5% per month from the date of breach, or at the maximum legally allowable rate.

Section 4 Bidding

4.1 Each Bidder’s determination of its bid should be based upon its own examination of the item(s) and independent investigation, rather than the any reliance as to what is represented in the Catalog, online or elsewhere. Bidder affirms that it regards any statements made by RR Auction concerning the item as solely opinion and that Bidder is making its own inspection and independent evaluation of the goods, and is not relying upon any description or statements by RR Auction (including as to quality, authenticity, provenance, ownership, liens existing, on goods legality, or value) in making its determination to bid on or purchase an item. In any purchase or sale, the value of the item(s) is determined by the price. THE BIDDER HEREBY ASSUMES ALL RISKS CONCERNING ANY AND ALL PURCHASES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

4.2 RR AUCTION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS IN BIDDING. A Bidder should make certain to bid on the correct lot and that the bid is the maximum (plus the Buyer’s Premium) that the Bidder is willing and able to pay. Since other Bidders (by mail, facsimile, online, and in person) will be present, and since a reoffering could damage the momentum of the sale, once the hammer has fallen and RR Auction has announced the winning Bidder, such Bidder is unconditionally bound to pay for the lot, even if the Bidder has made a mistake.

4.3 All prospective Bidders who examine lots in person prior to the sale shall personally assume all responsibility for any damage they cause in so doing. RR Auction shall have sole discretion in determining the value of the damage caused, which shall be promptly paid by the prospective Bidder.

4.4 Title to any lot remains with Consignor, any secured party of the Consignor, or assignee of Consignor, as the case may be, until the lot is paid for in full by Bidder and Bidder has fully satisfied any outstanding financial obligations to RR Auction (including as it concerns aby other lots). RR Auction reserves the right to require payment in full before delivering any lot to the successful Bidder.

4.5 It is the Bidder’s responsibility and obligation to have the lots fully insured while in their possession. Bidder assumes any and all risk of loss upon the earlier of shipment to Bidder or in Bidder’s possession.

4.6 Bidder grants to RR Auction or its assigns the right to offset any sums due, or found to be due by RR Auction, and to make such offset from any past, subsequent or future consignment, or items acquired by Bidder in possession or control of RR Auction or from any sums due to Bidder by RR Auction. Bidder fur-

ther grants RR Auction a lien consisting of a senior security interest (or purchase money security interest to the extent applicable) in such sums or items to the fullest extent applicable, authorizes RR Auction to file documents concerning the interest, and Bidder agrees to execute any further documents as may be reasonably necessary to grant RR Auction such security interest. Bidder agrees that RR Auction and its assigns shall be a secured party with respect to items bought by Bidder and in the possession of RR Auction, to the extent of the maximum indebtedness, plus all accrued fees and expenses, until the indebtedness is paid.

4.7 By bidding in this sale, Bidder personally and unconditionally guarantees payment. The authorized representative of any corporate Bidder who is present at the sale shall provide RR Auction or its agent, prior to the commencement of the bidding (or at the time of registration), with a statement signed by a principal, director or officer that they he or she personally and unconditionally guarantees any payment due RR Auction.

4.8 RR Auction may at its sole and absolute discretion, make loans or advances to Consignors and/or prospective Bidders.

Section 5

Bidding Options

5.1 Non-Internet bids (including but not limited to in-person, facsimile, phone and mail bids) are treated similarly to floor bids in that they must be on-increment. Any in-person, facsimile, phone, or mail bids that do not conform to a full increment will be rounded up or down to the nearest full increment and this revised amount will be considered Bidder’s high bid.

5.2 When identical bids are submitted, preference is given to the first received. To ensure the greatest accuracy, written bids should be entered on the standard printed bid sheet and be received at RR Auction’s place of business at least twenty-four (24) hours before the Auction start. RR Auction is not responsible for executing mail bids or facsimile bids received on or after the day the first lot is sold, nor Internet bids submitted after the published closing time; nor is RR Auction responsible for proper execution of bids submitted by telephone, mail, facsimile, e-mail, Internet, or in person once the Auction begins.

5.3 In all Auctions, bids on an item must raise the current high bid by at least 10%, or as specified on a per-Auction basis. Bids will be accepted in whole dollar amounts only. No “buy” or “unlimited” bids will be accepted. In a live sale, bids on an item can change at the discretion of RR Auction.

5.4 RR Auction reserves the right to accept or decline any bid. Bids must be for an entire lot and each lot constitutes a separate sale. All bids are per lot unless otherwise announced. Live auction lots will be sold in their numbered sequence unless RR Auction directs otherwise. It is unlawful and illegal for Bidders to collude, pool, or agree with another Bidder to pay less than the fair value for lot(s). For live auctions, RR Auction will have final discretion in the event that any dispute should arise between Bidders. RR Auction will determine the successful Bidder, cancel the sale, or re-offer and resell the lot or lots in dispute. RR Auction will have final discretion to resolve any disputes arising after the sale and in online auctions. If any dispute arises, RR Auction’s sale record is conclusive.

Section 6 Payment

6.1 Subject to fulfillment of all of the Conditions of Sale set forth herein, upon the sooner of (1) the passing of title to the offered lot pursuant to these Conditions of Sale, or (2) possession of the offered lot by the Bidder, Bidder thereupon (a) assumes full risk and responsibility (including without limitation, liability for or damage to frames or glass covering prints, paintings, photos, or other works), and (b) will immediately pay the full purchase price or such part as RR Auction may require. In addition to other remedies available to RR Auction by law, RR Auction reserves the right to impose from the date of sale a late charge of 1.5% per month of the total purchase price if payment is not made in accordance with the conditions set forth herein. All property must be removed from RR Auction’s premises by the Bidder at his/her expense not later than sixty (60) business days following its sale and, if it is not so removed, RR Auction may send the purchased property to a public warehouse for the account, at the risk and expense of the Bidder.

6.2 Payment is due upon closing of the Auction session, or upon presentment of an invoice. RR Auction reserves the right to void an invoice if payment in full is not received within thirteen (13) calendar days of the Auction or within twelve (12) calendar days of the invoice date. In cases of nonpayment, RR Auction’s election to void a sale does not relieve the Bidder from their obligation to pay RR Auction its fees (seller’s and Buyer’s Premium) on the lot and any other damages pertaining to the lot.

6.3 All sales for total invoices greater than $1,000 are strictly for cash in United States dollars (including U.S. currency, bank wire, cashier checks, eChecks, and bank money orders), and are subject to all reporting requirements.

6.4 All deliveries are subject to good funds; funds being received in RR Auction’s account before delivery of the Purchases; and all payments are subject to a clearing period. RR Auction reserves the right to determine if a check constitutes “good funds”: checks drawn on a U.S. bank are subject to a ten (10) calendar day hold, and ten (10) business days when drawn on an international bank. Clients with pre-arranged credit status may receive immediate credit for payments via e-Check, personal or corporate checks.

6.5 In the event that a Bidder’s payment is dishonored upon presentment(s), Bidder shall pay the maximum statutory processing fee set by applicable state law. If Bidder attempts to pay via check and the financial institution denies the transfer from Bidder’s bank account, or the payment cannot be completed using the selected funding source, Bidder agrees to complete payment.

6.7 If RR Auction refers any unpaid invoice to an attorney for collection, the Bidder agrees to pay and shall be liable for RR Auction’s attorney’s fees, court costs, and other collection costs incurred by RR Auction in addition to the invoice amount and interest the greater of 1.5% per month or at the maximum legally allowable rate from date of invoice to collection. If RR Auction assigns collection to its house counsel, such attorney’s time expended on the matter shall be compensated at a rate comparable to the hourly rate of independent attorneys.

6.8 RR Auction shall have a lien against the merchandise purchased by the Bidder (as well as to the extent it is a consignor any other monies owed or due to Bidder) to secure payment of the Auction invoice. RR Auction is further granted a lien and the right to retain possession of any other property of the Bidder then held by RR Auction or its affiliates to secure payment of any Auction invoice or any other amounts due RR Auction or affiliates from the Bidder. With respect to these lien rights, RR Auction shall have all the rights of a secured creditor, including but not limited to the right of sale. In addition, with respect to payment of the Auction invoice(s), the Bidder waives any and all rights of offset he might otherwise have against RR Auction and the consignor of the merchandise included on the invoice (the Consignor”). If a Bidder owes RR Auction or its affiliates on any account, RR Auction and its affiliates shall have the right to offset such unpaid account by any credit balance due Bidder, and it may secure by possessory lien any unpaid amount by any of the Bidder’s property in their possession.

6.9 All checks, cashiers checks, bank checks, or money orders are payable to R&R Auction Company of Massachusetts, LLC. RR Auction clients with an invoice totaling $1,000 or under will have the option to pay by VISA, Mastercard, Discover or Paypal. All Paypal payments must be sent to FinanceDepartment@ rrauction.com. Authorize.net, a third-party service provider contracted by RR Auction for processing on-line payments, charges a nonrefundable service fee of 3%, which will be added to your final invoice should you pay by credit/debit card.

Section 7 Sales Tax

RR Auction is a remote seller and we are now required to collect Sales/Use Tax from our bidders. The states that we have nexus in we will be required to collect and remit sales tax on your behalf. Each state has different requirements to meet nexus. When RR Auction has achieved a certain monetary and/or invoice threshold in each state we will apply sales tax to your total invoice. The states that are affected are: ARIZONA, ARKANSAS, CALIFORNIA, COLORADO, CONNECTICUT, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, KANSAS, KENTUCKY, MAINE, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEBRASKA, NEVADA, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, NORTH CAROLINA, OHIO, OKLAHOMA, PENNSYLVANIA,RHODE ISLAND, TENNESSEE, TEXAS, UTAH, VIRGINIA, WASHINGTON, WISCONSIN

If we have not achieved nexus in a particular state it is still your responsibility to pay sales tax on your purchases.

The sales tax rate is determined by the State, Country, and City where purchases are shipped to. If you decide to pick up your purchases at our New Hampshire location you will not be required to pay sales tax. The State of New Hampshire does not have a general sales and use tax. All purchases picked up at our Massachusetts location will be taxed at the current rate of 6.25%.

Section 8

Delivery; Shipping; and Handling Charges

Bidder is liable for shipping and handling and providing accurate information as to shipping or delivery locations and arranging for such. RR Auction is unable to combine purchases from other auctions or affiliates into one package for shipping purposes. Lots won will be shipped in a commercially reasonable time after payment in good funds for the merchandise and the shipping fees is received or credit extended, except when third-party shipment occurs. Bidder agrees that

service and handling charges related to shipping items which are not pre-paid may be charged to a credit card on file with RR Auction.

Successful international Bidders shall provide written shipping instructions, including specified Customs declarations, to RR Auction for any lots to be delivered outside of the United States. NOTE: Declaration value shall be the item’(s) hammer price and RR Auction shall use the correct harmonized code for the lot. Domestic Bidders on lots designated for third-party shipment must designate the common carrier, accept risk of loss, and prepay shipping costs.

Section 9

Title

Title shall not pass to the successful Bidder until all invoices of Bidder (including those pertaining to the item(s) at issue) and amounts owed to RR Auction are paid in full. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to provide adequate insurance coverage for the items once they have been delivered to a common carrier or third-party shipper.

Section 10

Rights Reserved

RR Auction reserves the right, at any time before, during or after an auction has ended to: withdraw any lot before or at the time of the Auction, cancel any bid, and/or to postpone the Auction of all or any lots or parts thereof, for any reason. RR Auction shall not be liable to any Bidder in the event of such withdrawal, cancellation, or postponement under any circumstances. RR Auction reserves the right to refuse to accept bids from anyone at any time.

Section 11

Conducting the Auction

11.1

RR Auction reserves the right to postpone the Auction or any session thereof for a reasonable period of time for any reason whatsoever, and no Bidder or prospective Bidder shall have any claim as a result thereof, including consequential damages.

11.2 RR Auction’s Discretion: RR Auction shall determine opening bids and bidding increments. RR Auction has the right in its absolute discretion to reject any bid in the event of dispute between Bidders or if RR Auction has doubt as to the validity of any bid, to advance the bidding at its absolute discretion and to determine the successful Bidder in the event of a dispute between Bidders, to continue the bidding or to reoffer and resell the lot in question. In the event of a dispute after the sale, RR Auctions record of final sale shall be conclusive. RR Auction also may reject any bid if RR Auction decides either that any bid is below the reserve of the lot or article or that an advance is insufficient. Unless otherwise announced by RR Auction at the time of sale, no lots may be divided for the purpose of sale.

11.3 Reserves

Lots may be subject to a reserve which is the confidential minimum price below which the lot will not be sold. Consignors may not bid on their own lots or property. RR Auction may, from time to time, bid on items that it does not own. RR Auction may execute bids consecutively or otherwise up to one bid increment below the reserve.

11.4 Off-Site Bidding

Bidding by telephone, facsimile, online, or absentee bidding (advance written bids submitted by mail) are offered solely as a convenience and permitted subject to advance arrangements, availability, and RR Auction’s approval which shall be exercised at RR Auction’s sole discretion. Neither RR Auction nor its agents or employees shall be held liable for the failure to execute bids or for errors relating to any transmission or execution thereof. In order to be considered for off-site bidding in any manner, Bidders must comply with all of these Conditions of Sale and the terms contained on the Registration Form.

11.5 Estimate Prices:

In addition to descriptive information, each item in the Catalog sometimes includes a price range which reflects opinion as to the price expected at auction (the “Estimate Prices”). In other instances, Estimate Prices can be obtained by calling RR Auction at (603) 732-4280. The Estimate Prices are based upon various factors including prices recently paid at auction for comparable property, condition, rarity, quality, history and provenance. Estimate Prices are prepared well in advance of the sale and subject to revision. Estimates do not include the Buyer’s Premium or sales tax (see under separate heading).

11.6 Owned or Guaranteed Property:

RR Auction generally offers property consigned by others for sale at public auction; in very limited occasion, lots are offered that are the property of RR Auction.

11.7 Before the Auction:

Bidder may attend pre-sale viewing for all of RR Auction’s auctions at no charge. All property to be auctioned is usually on view for several days prior to the sale. Bidder is encouraged to examine lots thoroughly. Bidder may also request condition reports (see below). RR Auction’s staff are available at viewings and by appointment.

11.8 Maximum Bids In All Auctions:

To maximize Bidder’s chance of winning, RR Auction strongly encourages the use of maximum bids. RR Auction will then bid for Bidder until the lot reaches Bidder’s specified maximum. Maximum bids are strictly confidential. Placing arbitrary, non-incremental bids on lots with prior maximum bids may result in these lots being sold for less than 10% above the under Bidder’s bid.

11.9 Successful Bids:

The fall of RR Auction’s hammer indicates the final bid. RR Auction will record the paddle number of the Bidder. If Bidder’s salesroom or absentee bid is successful, Bidder will be notified after the sale by mailed or emailed invoice.

11.10 Unsold Lots:

If a lot does not reach the reserve, it is bought-in. In other words, it remains unsold and is returned to the Consignor. RR Auction has the right to sell certain unsold items after the close of the Auction. Such lots shall be considered sold during the Auction and all these Terms and Conditions shall apply to such sales including but not limited to the Buyer’s Premium, return rights, and disclaimers.

11.11 Bidding in Timed Auction:

Bidder may open, monitor, and/or raise bids at any time before the close of a lot through www.rrauction.com. RR Auction offers a callback service the day of the Auction, but Bidder is responsible for supplying a correct telephone number(s) where Bidder can be reached until the Auction closes. Bidder must request this service in writing. RR Auction will make reasonable efforts to ensure that Bidders who request a callback are contacted if outbid; however, RR Auction does not guarantee this service and it is merely a courtesy and not an enforceable right. The auctioneer may also execute a bid on behalf of the consignor to protect the reserve, either by entering a bid in response to salesroom, telephone or absentee bids. Under no circumstances will the auctioneer place any bid on behalf of the consignor above the reserve. The auctioneer will not specifically identify bids placed on behalf of the consignor to protect the reserve.

To ensure proper registration, those Bidders intending to bid via the Internet must visit www.RRauction.com and register accordingly at least one full day prior to the actual auction. Winning bidders will be notified by RR Auction. RR Auction is not responsible or liable for any problems, delays, or any other issues or problems resulting out of use of the Internet generally or specifically, including but not limited to transmission, execution or processing of bids.

Any Bidder may bid on any lot prior to 6 pm EST/EDT. At that time, an extended bidding period goes into effect. If Bidder has not bid on a lot before 6 pm EST/ EDT, Bidder may not bid on that lot after 6 pm EST/EDT. Only those Bidders who have placed bids on a lot before 6 pm EST/EDT will be allowed to bid on that lot after 6 pm EST/EDT. If Bidder is the only Bidder on a lot at 6 pm EST/ EDT, that lot is awarded to Bidder. During the extended bidding period, a lot will remain open only to those who bid on that lot prior to 6 pm EST/EDT. All lots WITHOUT an opening bid at 6 pm EST/EDT will remain OPEN to ALL Bidders until 7 pm EST/EDT or until they receive their first bid. These lots will close immediately upon receipt of a bid or at 7 pm EST/EDT, whichever comes first. For all lots that are active after 7 pm EST/EDT, bidding will remain open until 30 minutes pass without a bid being placed on THAT lot (the “30 Minute Rule”). The 30 Minute Rule is applied on a PER LOT BASIS; each lot in the Auction closes individually based on bidding activity after 7 pm EST/EDT. On a PER LOT BASIS, the 30 minute timer will reset each time a bid is placed after 7 pm EST/EDT. If Bidder is the high Bidder, raising Bidder’s maximum bid will NOT reset the timer. RR Auction reserves the right to close the Auction at any time at its sole discretion.

11.12 Bidding - Internet Live Auction:

Bidder may open, monitor, and/or raise bids at any time before the close of a lot through www.rrauction.com. RR Auction offers a callback service the day of the Auction, but Bidder is responsible for supplying a correct telephone number(s) where Bidder can be reached until the Auction closes. During live internet or live auction, property is auctioned in consecutive numerical order, as it appears in the catalog. The auctioneer will accept bids from those present in the salesroom or absentee bidders participating by telephone,

internet or by written bid left with RR Auction in advance of the auction. The auctioneer may also execute a bid or bids (successively or otherwise) on behalf of the consignor to protect the reserve, either by entering a bid in response to salesroom, telephone or absentee bids. Under no circumstances will the auctioneer place any bid on behalf of the consignor above the reserve. The auctioneer will not specifically identify bids placed on behalf of the consignor to protect the reserve. All auctions for lots are with reserve unless specifically stated otherwise.

During live Auctions, internet bids can be placed in real time through one or more of the following Third Party services: www.liveauctioneers.com, www.invaluable. com and www.icollector.com. RR Auction is not responsible or liable for any problems, delays, or any other issues or problems resulting out of use of the Internet generally or specifically, including but not limited to transmission, execution or processing of bids. RR Auction treats any third-party site bids as floor or telephone bids. Floor bids and telephone bids are always considered first over third party sites bids, and floor bids are considered earlier than telephone bids. All RR Auction lots purchased through the third-party sites carry an additional Buyer’s Premium.

11.13 Miscellaneous:

Agreements between Bidders and Consignors to effectuate a non-sale of an item at Auction, inhibit bidding on a consigned item to enter into a private sale agreement for said item, or to utilize RR Auction’s Auction to obtain sales for non-selling consigned items subsequent to the Auction, are strictly prohibited. If a subsequent sale of a previously consigned item occurs in violation of this provision, RR Auction reserves the right to charge Bidder the applicable Buyer’s Premium and Consignor a Seller’s Commission as determined for each auction venue and by the terms of the seller’s agreement.

Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions qualifies Bidder as a client who has consented to be contacted by RR Auction in the future. In conformity with ”donot-call” regulations promulgated by the Federal or State regulatory agencies, participation by the Bidder is affirmative consent to being contacted at the phone number shown in his application and this consent shall remain in effect until it is revoked in writing. RR Auction may from time to time contact Bidder concerning sale, purchase, and auction opportunities available.

11.14 Rules of Construction: RR Auction presents properties in a number of collectible fields, and as such, specific venues have promulgated supplemental Terms and Conditions. Nothing herein shall be construed to waive the general Conditions of Sale by these additional rules and shall be construed to give force and effect to the rules in their entirety.

Section 12

RR Auction’s Remedies

Failure of the Bidder to comply with any of these Conditions of Sale or the terms of the Registration Form is an event of material breach or default. In such event, RR Auction may, in addition to any other available remedies specifically including the right to hold the defaulting Bidder liable for the Purchase Price or to charge and collect from the defaulting Bidder’s credit or debit accounts as provided for elsewhere herein: (a) cancel the sale, retaining any payment made by the Bidder as damages (the Bidder understands and acknowledges that RR Auction will be substantially damaged should such default occur, and that damages under subpart (a) are necessary to compensate RR Auction for such damages); (b) resell the property without reserve at public auction or privately; (c) charge the Bidder interest on the Purchase Price at the rate of one and one-half percent (1.5%) per month or the highest allowable interest rate; (d) take any other action that RR Auction, in its sole discretion, deems necessary or appropriate to preserve and protect RR Auction’s rights and remedies. Should RR Auction resell the property, the original defaulting Bidder shall be liable for the payment of any deficiency in the purchase price and all costs and expenses associated there with, including but not limited to warehousing, sales-related expenses, reasonable attorney fees and court costs, commissions, incidental damages and any other charges due hereunder which were not collected or collectable. In the event that such Bidder is the successful Bidder on more than one lot and pays less than the purchase price for the total lots purchased, RR Auction shall apply the payment received to such lot or lots that RR Auction, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate. If RR Auction does not exercise such discretion, the lots to which the payment shall be applied will be in descending order from the highest purchase price to the lowest. Any Bidder failing to comply with these Conditions of Sale shall be deemed to have granted RR Auction a security interest in, and RR Auction may retain as collateral such security for such Bidder’s obligations to RR Auction, any Bidder’s property in RR Auction’s possession or to which title has not yet passed to Bidder. RR Auction shall have the benefit of all rights of a secured party under the Uniform Commercial Code (U.C.C.) as adopted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Section 13

Warranties

13.1 RR Auction does not provide any warranties to Bidders, whether expressed or implied, beyond those expressly provided in these Conditions of Sale. All property and lots are sold ”as is” and “where is”. By way of illustration rather than limitation, neither RR Auction nor the Consignor makes any representation or warranty, expressed or implied, as to merchantability or fitness for intended use, condition of the property (including any condition report), correctness of description, origin, measurement, quality, rarity, importance, exhibition, relevance, attribution, source, provenance, date, authorship, condition, culture, genuineness, value, or period of the property. Additionally, neither RR Auction nor the Consignor makes any representation or warranty, expressed or implied, as to whether the Bidder acquires rights in copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property (including exhibition or reproduction rights) related to the item, or whether the property is subject to any limitations or other rights. RR Auction does not make any representation or warranty as to title.

13.2 All descriptions, photographs, illustrations, and terminology including but not limited to words describing condition (including any condition reports requested by Bidder, see also Terminology), authorship, period, culture, source, origin, measurement, quality, rarity, provenance, importance, exhibition, and relevance, used in the Catalog, bill of sale, invoice, or anywhere else, represent a good faith effort made by RR Auction to fairly represent the lots and property offered for sale as to origin, date, condition, and other information contained therein; they are statements of opinion only. They are not representations or warranties and Bidder agrees and acknowledges that he or she shall not rely on them in determining whether or not to bid or for what price. Price estimates (which are determined well in advance of the Auction and are therefore subject to revision) and condition reports are provided solely as a convenience to Bidders and are not intended nor shall they be relied on by Bidders as statements, representations or warranties of actual value or predictions of final bid prices.

13.3 Bidders are accorded the opportunity to inspect the lots and to otherwise satisfy themselves as to the nature and sufficiency of each lot prior to bidding, and RR Auction urges Bidders to avail themselves accordingly.

13.4 All lots sold by RR Auction are accompanied by an Auction Certificate (“AC”). On any lot presented with an AC issued by RR Auction, the certification is only as to its attribution to the person or entity described or to the lot’s usage and only as explicitly stated therein (the “AC”), to the exclusion of any other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to those pursuant to the Uniform Commercial Code. The AC inures only to the original Bidder (as shown in RR Auction’s records). Bidder may not transfer, assign, or otherwise convey the AC and such purported transfer, assignment, or conveyance shall be null and void.

Section 14

Firearms

RR Auction complies with all Federal and State rules and regulations relating to the purchasing, registration and shipping of firearms. A Bidder is required to provide appropriate documents and the payment of associated fees, if any. Bidder is responsible for providing a shipping address that is suitable for the receipt of a firearm.

Section 15

Unauthorized Statements

Under no circumstances is any employee, agent or representative of RR Auction authorized by RR Auction to modify, amend, waive or contradict any of these Conditions of Sale, any term or condition set forth on a registration form, any warranty or limitation or exclusion of warranty, any term or condition in either the Registration Form or these Terms and Conditions regarding payment requirements, including but not limited to due date, manner of payment, and what constitutes payment in full, or any other term or condition contained in any documents issued by RR Auction unless such modification, amendment, waiver or contradiction is contained in a writing signed by all parties. Any statements, oral or written, made by employees, agents or representatives of RR Auction to Bidder, including statements regarding specific lots, even if such employee, agent or representative represents that such statement is authorized, unless reduced to a writing signed Bidder and by an authorized officer of RR Auction by all parties, are statements of personal opinion only and are not binding on RR Auction, and under no circumstances shall be relied upon by Bidder as a statement, representation or warranty of RR Auction.

Section 16

Bidder’s Remedies

16.1 Except as stated expressly herein, Bidder’s sole and exclusive remedy related to or pertaining to items it bids upon, views, or purchases from RR Auction, and any claims by Bidder related to authenticity, ownership, condition, title or value, shall be against Consignor only.

16.2 This section sets forth the sole and exclusive remedies of Bidder as against

RR Auction (inclusive of its affiliates, officers, managers, employees or agents), or in any way arising out of, related to, or in connection with these Conditions of Sale, , and is expressly in lieu of any other rights or remedies which might be available to Bidder by law. Time is of the essence with respect to these procedures.

16.3 Title to Items

The Bidder hereby accepts the benefit of the Consignor’s warranty of title and any other representations and warranties made by the Consignor for the Bidder’s benefit. In the event that Bidder demonstrates in writing, satisfactory to the sole discretion of RR Auction, that there was a breach of the Consignor’s warranty of title concerning a lot purchased by Bidder, RR Auction may make demand upon the Consignor to pay to Bidder the Purchase Price (including any premiums, taxes, or other amounts paid or due to RR Auction). Should the Consignor not pay the Purchase Price to Bidder within thirty days after such demand (if any made), RR Auction may disclose the identity of the Consignor to Bidder and may assign to Bidder all or some of RR Auction’s rights against the Consignor with respect to such lot or property. Upon such disclosure and/or assignment, all responsibility and liability of RR Auction, if any, with respect to said lot or item shall automatically terminate related to or arising from these Conditions of Sale or such transaction operating as a complete waiver and general release by Bidder as to RR Auction and its agents, contractors, and affiliates, as to any and all claims concerning or related to the item, if any . RR Auction shall be entitled to retain the premiums and other amounts paid to RR Auction by Consignor only. The rights and remedies provided herein are for the original Bidder only and they may not be assigned or relied upon by any transferee or assignee under any circumstances.

16.4 Authenticity Challenge Process

(1) If Bidder wishes to dispute or challenge the Authenticity of the lot or item (including asserting that it is incorrect), Bidder must adhere to the following procedure: Within 30 days of the Auction Date, Bidder must present written evidence to RR Auction, that the lot is not authentic as determined by a known expert in the field (and one recognized by RR Auction within its discretion) and send the physical item or lot at issue to RR Auction along with all evidence relied upon by Bidder for contesting the Authenticity. (“Authenticity Challenge Process”) “Authenticity” shall mean a gross discrepancy in the between the description, genuiness, or attribution of the item as represented by RR Auction in the Catalog or at the auction, and the item. If RR Auction concurs that the lot is not Authentic as was represented (it is sole discretion), Bidder’s sole and exclusive remedy as against RR Auction (inclusive of its affiliates, agents, employees, and contractors) shall be a refund of the purchase price of the subject item paid by Bidder, with no other costs, liabilities or amounts recoverable by Bidder. If RR Auction does not agree with the assertion by Bidder, then the Parties shall follow the dispute resolution procedures of these Conditions of Sale. Strict adherence to the Authenticity Challenge Process is a condition of standing for Bidder to initiate suit or claim.

(2) So long as Bidder has complied with the Authenticity Challenge Process, any claim, suit or action, by Bidder concerning an AC or Certification of Authenticity, or related to the authenticity of the item must, without any exception, be brought within one (1) year of Auction Date and is subject to the other limitations and conditions stated in the Conditions of Sale.

16.5 Other Issues. Any dispute or claim by Bidder against RR Auction (or its affiliates, directors, employees, officers, agents, or contractors)) other than Authenticity, concerning any item or lot bid upon, or purchased, including value, title, condition, bidding process, or description must be asserted (if at all) in the following manner:

(1) If the description of any lot in the Catalog is materially or grossly incorrect (e.g., gross cataloging error), or there is any other gross material issue pertaining to the item or lot, the item or lot may be returned if returned within five (5) calendar days of receipt, and received by RR Auction no later than twenty-one (21) calendar days after the Auction Date with explanation in writing.. If there is any discrepancy between the description in the Catalog and a certificate of auction, then the description in the certificate of auction (“Lot Challenge Process”). This paragraph shall constitute Bidder’s sole right with respect to the return of items, and no refunds shall be given for any items not returned to and received by RR Auction within the period of time stated herein or not materially or grossly in deviation from the description. Such a refund is subject to RR Auction’s sole discretionary review, and any request for refund must be made concurrently with returning the physical item or lot to RR Auction. Any item not returned within said frame will constitute acceptance of the item and a waiver and release of any and all claims by Bidder pertaining to the item other than with respect to authenticity; and

(2) Provided that the Bidder has engaged in the Lot Challenge Process, any

claim concerning such must be brought no later than one (1) year of the Auction Date for the item or lot at issue and is subject to the other limitations and conditions stated in the Conditions of Sale.

NO RETURN OR REFUND OF ANY AUCTION LOT WILL BE CONSIDERED OR PROVIDED EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THESE CONDITIONS OF SALE AND BIDDERS OR AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY LAW. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH SUCH SHALL BE A COMPLETE DEFENSE TO ANY CLAIMS BY BIDDER RELATED TO THE CONDITIONS OF SALE, ANY AUCTION OR BID.

16.6 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. For any and all claims by Bidder arising out of or related to this Agreement, Bidder’s viewing, bid, or purchase of items, or any agreement between the Parties, or otherwise, Bidder agrees that to the fullest extent such can be limited under the law, Bidder shall have no right to recover and hereby waives any and all rights to recover from against RR Auction or its affiliates, directors, employees, officers, agents, or contractors, consequential or indirect damages, lost profits damages, punitive, exemplary, statutory (or multiplier damages), physical or emotional distress damages, general or special damages of any kind (beyond amounts actually paid by Bidder for item(s) at issue), and in the event of recovery of any damages whatsoever, such shall be limited by the amounts actually paid by Bidder to RR Auction for the item(s) at issue in such claim, or if no money was paid to RR Auction by Bidder for items at issue, or there items are at issue, the amount of $150.00.

Section 17

RR Auction’s Additional Services

For Bidders who do not remove purchased property from RR Auction’s premises, RR Auction, in its sole discretion and solely as a service and accommodation to Bidders, may arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured and forwarded at the sole request, expense, and risk of Bidder. RR Auction assumes no and disclaims all responsibility and liability for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by RR Auction or other packers and carriers, whether or not recommended by RR Auction. RR Auction assumes no and disclaims all responsibility and liability for damage to frames, glass or other breakable items. Where RR Auction arranges and bills for such services via invoice, RR Auction will include an administration charge.

Section 18

Headings

Headings are for convenience only and shall not be used to interpret the substantive sections to which they refer.

Section 19

Entire Agreement

Except to the extent Bidder is also a consignor (in which case the terms of the consignment agreement shall also govern), these Conditions of Sale constitute the entire agreement between the Parties together with the terms and conditions contained in the auction Registration Form. They may not be amended, modified or superseded except in a signed writing executed by all parties. No oral or written statement by anyone employed by RR Auction or acting as agent or representative of RR Auction may amend, modify, waive or supersede the terms herein unless such amendment, waiver or modification is contained in a writing signed by all parties.

If any section of these Conditions of Sale or any term or provision of any section is held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable by any court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction, the remaining parts of the agreement and remainder of the sections or terms and provisions of the section and all sections shall continue in full force and effect without being impaired or invalidated in any way.

Section 20

Governing Law and Enforcement

20.1 The Parties agree that all agreements between the Parties including but not limited to these Conditions of Sale are entered into in Boston, Massachusetts, no matter where Bidder is situated and no matter by what means or where Bidder was informed of the Auction and regardless of whether catalogs, materials, or other communications were received by Bidder in another location.

20.2 The Parties agree that these Conditions of Sale, any other related agreement(s), along with all claims between the Parties, including those arising out of or related to such are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard for its conflict of laws principles. The Parties agree that any dispute between the Parties, including but not limited to those related to or arising out of these Conditions of Sale, or related to or arising out of any other related agreement(s) shall be submitted to confidential binding arbitration (the ”Arbitration”) before a single Arbitrator of the American Arbitration Association

(the “AAA”) The Parties agree that the Arbitration shall be conducted pursuant to the commercial rules of the AAA in Boston, Massachusetts, unless the Consumer Arbitration Rules apply, in which case, such rules and venue will govern. In the event that the Parties cannot agree on the selection of the Arbitrator, then the Arbitrator shall be selected by the AAA. The prevailing Party in the Arbitration shall also recover all of its related fees and costs, whether before or after the formal institution of the Arbitration, including but not limited to its reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs, if RR Auction prevails, such recovery, in addition to all remedies available at agreement or law, shall include the Buyer’s Premium as defined in these Conditions of Sale. Federal arbitration law, including the Federal Arbitration Act apply to this agreement to arbitrate and its related provisions. The arbitration and all related proceedings shall be held strictly confidential and all documents and discovery shall be held confidential and not used, published or disclosed publically or to anyone outside the Parties or expert consultants or counsel who shall agree to hold such confidential.

20.3 The Parties consent to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as exclusive jurisdiction and venue for all claims between the Parties except as provided specifically herein and may seek confirmation of the decision in the Arbitration pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act in any Court of competent jurisdiction, including the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. To the extent such is necessary under the law, RR Auction may enforce the Arbitration award against Bidder and any related Party in any court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as RR Auction consenting to jurisdiction or venue in any location outside of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

THE PARTIES MAY NOT BRING CLAIMS AGAINST EACH OTHER AS A CLASS OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLAIMED CLASS, OR IN A REPRESENTATIVE ACTION UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED. UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED, THE CLAIMS AGAINST EACH OF THE OTHER CANNOT BE CONSOLIDATED OR JOINED WITH MORE THAN ONE ADDITIONAL PERSON OR ENTITIES’ CLAIMS. NO INJUNCTIVE OR DECLATORY RELIEF SOUGHT BY BIDDER IF ANY, CAN AFFECT OR BE ORDERED TO AFFECT ANY OTHER BIDDERS OR PERSONS.

20.4 Except as provided specifically in these Conditions of Sale in Bidder’s Remedies against RR Auction (along with its affiliates, directors, agents, officers, employees, and contractors) for any dispute, claim, cause of action related to or arising out of these Conditions of Sale or any other related agreement(s), brought by Bidder must be brought within the earlier of the Auction Date as it pertains to the item(s) at issue or no later than one (1) year of the acts, omissions or circumstances occurred giving rise to the alleged claim, without exception. This provision is intended as a full, complete and absolute bar to and release of any claims by Bidder initiated after one (1) year of such acts, omissions or circumstances. The Parties agree further that these waiver provisions are intended to be binding in the event of any dispute, specifically including but not limited to third party claims and cross-actions brought by Bidder. These provisions are consideration for the execution of these Conditions of Sale.

20.5 To the fullest extent under applicable law and except as specifically stated herein Bidder hereby holds harmless, releases and discharges RR Auction and its agents, officer’s directors, affiliates, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, obligations, promises, agreements, damages, causes of action, suits, demands, losses, debts, and expenses of any nature whatsoever, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected existing prior to these Conditions of Sale. Bidder agrees to the Conditions of Sale and upon each instance that Bidder participates in any auction, bids, or otherwise agrees to such terms and reaffirms this release as of the date of so participating or agreeing unless Bidder otherwise provides clear written notice to RR Auction prior to so bidding.

20.6 The Bidder hereby agrees that RR Auction shall be entitled to present these Conditions of Sale to a court in any jurisdiction other than set forth in this paragraph as conclusive evidence of the Parties agreement, and the Parties further agree that the court shall immediately dismiss any action filed in such jurisdiction.

20.7 Liquidated Damages for Specific Breaches

In the event that Bidder provides false information in connection with registering for bidding, fails to correct or update information or breaches the Conditions of Sale by failing to pay the purchase price when due after becoming the winning bidder, as liquidated damages associated with such breaches, R&R may obtain from Bidder the greater of (1) 150% the reserve of the item (if any); (2) the amount bidder bid; or (3), the full amount that bidder would have otherwise paid. Bidder will also be liable for an additional 20% of such amount to account for additional administrative costs, shipping, additional advertising, and other damages and liabilities fees that are difficult to calculate on an item-by-item basis.

20.8 Indemnity. Bidder agrees to defend, indemnify, hold harmless RR Auction

(along with its officers, directors, agents, contractors, and affiliates) from and against any and all claims, costs, fees, damages, and liabilities arising out of or related to these Conditions of Sale, view of items, or lots, bidding, or participation in any auction by RR Auction, and/or or in any way connected to any item you viewed, bid upon or purchased through RR Auction.

Section 21: State-by-State Law Issues

This Auction is being conducted in and the sale shall take place in the State of Massachusetts. Notwithstanding, the foregoing, should these terms and conditions violate the law of any State should that state’s law be found to govern, or any provision herein determined to be invalid, the clause itself and the remainder of the Agreement shall be valid to the fullest extent allowed. Also, to the extent other states law apply to any transaction arising out of the Agreement (without admitting such), RR Auction states:

For Residents of California:

SALE OF AUTOGRAPHED COLLECTIBLES: AS REQUIRED BY LAW, A DEALER WHO SELLS TO A CONSUMER ANY COLLECTIBLE DESCRIBED AS BEING AUTOGRAPHED MUST PROVIDE A WRITTEN EXPRESS WARRANTY AT THE TIME OF SALE. THIS DEALER MAY BE SURETY BONDED OR OTHERWISE INSURED TO ENSURE THE AUTHENTICITY OF ANY AUTOGRAPHED COLLECTIBLE SOLD BY THIS DEALER.

A written express warranty is provided with each autographed collectible, as required by law. This dealer may be surety bonded or otherwise insured to ensure the authenticity of any autographed collectible sold by this dealer.

Section 22

Glossary of Condition terms

Information provided to prospective Bidders with respect of any lot, including any pre-sale estimate, whether written or oral, and information in any catalogue, condition or other report, commentary or valuation, is not a representation of fact but rather a statement of opinion held by RR Auction.

Use of the following terms constitutes an opinion as follows:

VERY FINE describes an item believed to be in virtually flawless condition, and is used sparingly for items of exceptionally attractive appearance.

FINE is the most common statement of condition, and applies to most items that we offer. It describes items that we believe to show expected handling wear, generally acceptable random flaws (such as light creases, small bends, etc.), and an overall appearance that is pleasing to the majority of collectors.

VERY GOOD describes an item that we believe exhibits more moderate flaws (such as toning, light staining, professional reinforcements or repairs, etc.). Most collectors would be comfortable with items in very good condition, and this would be the expected condition for many formats (early presidential documents, for example).

GOOD describes an item which we believe to have obvious visible flaws, including heavy wear, missing portions, or repairs that affect appearance; generally items in this condition are offered only if an item is otherwise believed to be exceedingly rare or important.

Bidder may call and request further details and information about RR Auction’s opinions concerning any item via phone or email which shall provided in RR Auction’s discretion.

Certificate of Auction, Certificate of Authenticity and Goods Acquired:

Bidder warrants that Bidder (and its agents, assigns, successors, and affiliates) shall not purposely deface, destroy, dismember, cut-up into parts the item or Lot purchased at auction from RR Auction and in the event such shall occur whether purposefully or accidently, Bidder (and its agents, assigns, successors, and affiliates) shall refrain from advertising, promoting, or marketing the item as having been purchased from RR Auction and shall in no event display, expressly claim, or imply that the item was certified or auctioned in such state by RR Auction. As liquidated damages for such breach, Bidder agrees to be liable to RR Auction for the greater of the amount of three (3) times the hammer price of the item along with all other fees and costs as otherwise provided in this Terms of Sale.
