About Us Our Mission
Our Vision
Empower relationships through sports & activities for the purpose of mobilizing participants to collectively serve those in our community facing extreme challenges.
Any of us who have ever played a sport or been involved in a group activity know the power our involvement can play in developing close friendships. Sport naturally offers an environment that removes the barriers of race, religion and gender, and creates a path of consistency and accountability for relationship development and personal growth. It is our initiative to create opportunities for members of the RRC church and local community to participate in sport and active events in order to empower the development of strong relationships and healthy community.
“By yourself you're unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A threestranded rope isn't easily snapped.” Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40
2009 Sponsors
The overall mission behind the creation of this platform is to mobilize and empower the participants of our ministry to serve the greater needs of those in our community who struggle with difficult challenges. It is our belief that an individual’s willingness to serve these needs increases greatly when he/she: 1.
Is presented with a clear opportunity to serve.
2.
Has a familiar relationship with those who are also involved in the same service.
We have a passion to reach out and love those in need -- orphans, physically and mentally disabled, at-risk youth, homeless, battered women and children, and others. We have partnered with several local organizations serving the needs of these individuals and will work handin-hand to participate in their programs and develop customized sports programs of our own to integrate with their current structure. Our programs include: • • • •
Sports clinics/camps One-on-one coaching/mentoring Heath education/activities Preparing & delivering meals and clothing

2010 Sports Schedule RRC LEAGUES The leagues listed below are those that Red Rocks Church initiates and operates fully. Participants come from members of our congregation, their friends, and members of our community. We strive for excellence in every aspect of our leagues, with the goal to implement the accurate level of competition with the highest level of fun. It is also important to note that each league will include at least one service day. On this day, participants of the league will break from the sport and collectively serve a need of one of our partnered organizations.
Sand Volleyball RRC will be going into its 5th season of summer coed sand volleyball. This league has grown in numbers each year and we expect the same in 2010. Last year we had 80 participants play at Lakewood Park sand courts of Alameda and Kipling in Lakewood. This league starts in May and concludes in late July. Bowling RRC is going into its 2nd annual season of coed bowling. 2009 brought in 84 participants each Monday night from January through March and we expect that number to grow in 2010. We will host the RRC Bowling League at the Belmar Lucky Strike in Lakewood.
It is important to note that all RRC leagues, teams and activities are funded by the participants’ entry fees. Sponsorship funds will not be used to fund any portion of our adult leagues other than any costs associated with promoting our sponsors such as t-shirts and banners. Future usage may include scholarship opportunities for community members who cannot afford to participate in RRC events or activities.
Dodgeball RRC hosted a one-day dodgeball tournament in the summer of 2008 which included over 100 participants. We are eager to build from this momentum and begin a full 8-week dodgball league in the fall of 2010. We will host this league at Colorado Christian University near Wadsworth Blvd. and Alameda Blvd. in Lakewood. We anticipate 64 participants. Bocce RRC will introduce Bocce into the league lineup in the summer of 2010. We will host the bocce league at the outdoor courts in heart of downtown Belmar, Lakewood. We anticipate 10 two-person teams for a total of 20 participants. Fitness Challenge
Ultimate Frisbee RRC has sponsored several ultimate Frisbee teams competing in city leagues each of the past three years. Since the interest is so great, we will be offering the RRC Coed Ultimate Frisbee league starting in the summer of 2010. We anticipate approximately 60 participants.
RRC will be offering two 3-month fitness challenges throughout 2010. These Fit Body Bootcamps will be conducted each Saturday at RRC throughout the 3-month challenge. ------------------------------------------------------------------
RRC TEAMS Basketball RRC is gearing up for its first annual men’s basketball league. This league will be hosted at Mountainside Fitness off Ward Rd. & McIntire Rd. in Arvada. We are anticipating six teams with 7-8 players each for approximately 42-48 participants. We will start this league in late February and conclude in April.
RRC Sponsorship Proposal
