Off-Site Construction Our facilities build in the same manner as site built construction except that we build in a controlled environment, without exposure to water, adverse weather, or labor diversions. Because of this, our process is faster and more reliable than site built construction and produces less waste. Sections or “modules” are produced off-site and only the final assembly occurs on site. Our process is not to be confused with manufactured homes or mobile homes which are considered temporary structures. Instead, we produce permanent structures, build on engineered foundations just like site built construction and feature the same high quality materials and name brand products found in site built construction. We also build to a higher standard and perform additional testing and quality controls throughout the process. In the end our structures look and feel exactly like site built construction - both inside and out, except our structures have increased strength, performance, and energy efficiency due to the rigors of our process.

Our homes are also energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Every home built by Evolution Building Systems meets or exceeds government guidelines and codes for energy efficiency by using thermal pane windows, elevated levels of insulation and energy saving appliances. Additional testing procedures optimize the performance of our homes.
Off-site construction is inherently more sustainable than site build construction for a number of reasons. We produce less waste and are able to recycle more materials due to our controlled environment. Unlike site built construction where materials are subject to moisture, swelling and often mold/mildew, our materials are not exposed to weather in the construction process providing straighter construction, reliability, and improved indoor air quality. There is less disturbance to the site because instead of a prolonged construction process which can impact trees and erosion, only the final assembly occurs on site. We also build to a higher standard which increases strength, performance, and energy efficiency of our homes. Safe access to all areas of the structure during construction, through movable catwalks and other measures allows more precise, tighter construction. Quality controls and additional testing throughout the process ensure consistency and performance. We can also produce under rating systems such as ENERGY STAR AND USGBC LEED Certification.
Speed & Quality Our facilities provide a streamline process to deliver pre-designed and pre-engineered homes with quality and speed. Our turn around time can be as little as several weeks rather than several months required for site built construction. Additionally our climate controlled facilities are not subject to weather delays and can operate with additional secondary shifts as needed. Our experienced workforce and quality control process assures that our homes meets all code requirements and are built to the highest standards. Our homes are built to the same building codes as site built homes and are erected on a permanent engineered foundation system, just like a site built home. And, the framing for our homes is the same as a traditional homes except we use additional lumber to guarantee a safe delivery to the site plus the handling by a crane once there. In essence, our modular homes are stronger, sturdier, and over engineered in order to withstand the transportation and installation process. In fact, FEMA has recognized that off-site modular construction is stronger than site built construction with the release of findings in its 1992 report of Building Performance after Hurricane Andrew in Florida.

Typical Workforce Problems Companies in rural areas have invested greatly in their workforce however housing is often an issue. Problems typically associated with “man camps,� trailer parks and other portable housing, is that they are often cramped and noisy. Staying in hotel or motels forces workers to relocate each week to a new room and constantly travel with all their belongings. Most workers living in these temporary shelters find it difficult to remain on the job for very long, so valuable training and skills are lost to the employer, who must continually find and train new workers to replace them. The Solution Evolution Building Systems high quality solution creates a true home away from home experience. Unlike manufactured or mobile homes we build to the IRC, International Residential Code, the same code as site built custom homes. Our engineered foundation is considered permanent although homes are adaptable and can be relocated based on industry needs. Depending on geographic availability, we also offer the first pre-cast moveable concrete foundation system by GroundFORCE technology. This system has been used for oilfield workforce housing in shifting soils of Texas and other regions.
