RSM STAR Code of Conduct
We aim to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive place of work so our members have the opportunity to learn, grow and excel, and contribute to STAR’s mission to enrich the life of all RSM students. We define the overriding principles as follows: • Diversity: The quality of being different or unique as an individual or group, including but not limited to age, race, religion, ethnicity, colour, physical features, sex, sexual preference/orientation, gender identity/expression, language differences, nationality or national origin, socioeconomic status, work and behavioural styles, political affiliation, etc. This may also refer to different ways of thinking and ways of working. • Inclusion: All people, regardless of their diversity characteristics, have the right to be respected and appreciated as valuable members of their communities.
Code of Conduct Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) aligns with our core competencies of career start support, academic & development support, social interaction, societal impact & sustainability, and Active Members and their personal and professional development. The objective of this D&I Code of Conduct is to articulate proper behaviour and accountabilities, and reinforcing respect for each other. We are committed to enforcing and evolving this code over time. The code will be reviewed annually.

This Code of Conduct applies to interactions in our shared STAR lives, including office encounters, shared online spaces (e.g. Google Drive, Slack), social media, conferences or other events where we represent STAR. If you experience that the Code of Conduct is not being adhered to, please report it to the HR Manager of the Board (Lieke Venema). Your report(s) will be treated confidentially.

of online communication, where misunderstandings occur more frequently; Behave in a way that does not offend, intimidate, degrade, insult or humiliate others. This includes jokes, banter, ridicule or taunts; Feedback is important within STAR. Good feedback is respectful, clear, and constructive; Understand and act upon the fact that what may be acceptable to you may not be to someone else; Ensure a safe environment at STAR’s social events, free of any (sexual) intimidation and harassment; Go out of your way and across cultures to include people in casual, conversational or work-related interactions. This includes talking English when international students are present. Avoid slang or idioms that might be offensive to other people; Challenge poor practice in others, reporting to the HR Manager or another board member in case of a www.rsmstar.nl
