Erasmus Consultancy Project Formerly International Business Study (IBS)
The Erasmus Consultancy Project (ECP) provides students with the opportunity to gain consultancy experience by conducting customized research in an emerging country. ECP offers (Dutch) companies and nonprofit organizations tailor-made contract research. In the past, ECP has conducted research in countries such as Mexico, Vietnam, Brazil and South-Korea.

The committee starts by selecting the country. Subsequently, around 20 consultants and two professors are recruited in September. Until January, preliminary research is conducted on the country and industries to gather knowledge that will serve as groundwork for further research. From January through April, acquisition takes place, meaning that companies must be found for which to conduct the actual research. After this, students will perform desk research for the contracted companies. In July, the chosen country will be visited for about three weeks in order to execute field research. After the field research you have the opportunity to travel around. In September, reports will be written and presented to

ECP provides a unique atmosphere to improve your skills on leadership, research, consultancy, selling, to expand your network and to go abroad. You will work with an enthusiastic group of students who are triggered by both academic and social aspects of the project.

As chairman of the Erasmus Consultancy Project you will be the leader, motivator, supporter and coordinator of the committee and the consultants. You will represent ECP towards different parties, develop a clear vision on where ECP has to be, search for strategic opportunities and enable others to fulfill their role. The function of chairman challenges you in keeping the group together, in being the social and functional leader of the team but at the same time being involved in the research.
As treasurer of the Erasmus Consultancy Project you will safeguard the financial health of the project. Your main responsibilities are safeguarding the budget and managing all contracts. You will work closely with different committee members during the several phases of the project. The function of treasurer requires a disciplined and organized way of working, you have to be able to keep the financial overview and do not get carried away by over the top enthusiasm of the team you are working with.

Research
Commercial relations
As Commissioner of Research of the Erasmus Consultancy Project you will guarantee the quality of the research conducted. You will be responsible for the sector research, concept proposals, final proposals and the final reports. You will guide the consultants and fellow committee members in conducting research. The function of research is one that asks for criticism, curiosity and the ability to help others. Academic, analytical and organizational skills are required to structure the work of consultants and to deliver professional research reports.
As Commissioner of Commercial Relations of the Erasmus Consultancy Project you will be the designated person to coordinate the ECP team in generating sufficient revenues during the acquisition phase to conduct research abroad. You will create an acquisition plan, set up a network of valuable contacts, keep track of the progress and coach your team towards success. The function of commercial is for those who know how to sell the project, requiring a pro-active mindset and strong communication skills.

Marketing
Travel coordinator
As Commissioner of Marketing of the Erasmus Consultancy Project you will be the communicator and guardian of every expression of the ECP brand. You are responsible for recruiting consultants, designing the ECP website and the brochure for companies, writing publications and to capture this great project in a yearbook. The function of marketing is of critical importance and requires a creative mind, the ability to express the value of the project and pursuing innovative ways of communicating.
As Travel Coordinator of the Erasmus Consultancy Project you will arrange the entire trip to the chosen country for almost thirty people. During the entire year you organize social activities for the group but the focus in this function is in the second half of the year. Tickets, hotels, visas, vaccinations and transportation all fit into your path. The Travel Coordinator can make the ECP experience even more successful for the team. Will you make this happen?

Practical Information Fulltime compensation The committee starts in August from 2,5 days a week. From January until April ECP is full time. In the period of May until October it will be again 2,5 days a week, excluding the trip itself. Because part of the year the committee is fulltime, STAR is providing financial compensation for your study delay.
Bachelor internship
The ECP Committee is granted 15 ECTS by both BA and IBA program Management. You can drop your current minor and use ECP as your Minor.

Selection process
After application closes, you will be invited for your first interview. This first interview will serve to get to know each other, talk about the project in general, and to manage expectations. If you are then invited for the second interview, we ask of you to prepare a function specific case which will be discussed during the interview.
