A HOLIDAY MESSAGE FROM THE LENS OF DALE COVER, RSTI PRESIDENT For me, other than family, many of my thoughts this time of year are of the friends and associates I have been blessed to come to know over the years while at RSTI. It’s kind of funny, the people I got to know when I first started with RSTI are now in management and they hardly touch equipment anymore so I only get to see them at trade shows or I hear about how they are doing from their employees while they are here for class. With the New Year just around the corner we can’t ignore the planning that must be done. For us, we have been putting things in place for next year’s programs for months now.
While you are making your plans over the holidays, don’t forget to include some career enhancing classes for next year.

hat an incredible year it has been. Thank you all for helping us celebrate our 30th year of providing the best educational opportunities available. I am always mindful of how important your contributions are to our success.
Without you, we wouldn’t be here, that is... without you and the manufacturers who kept their contract prices high enough to motivate equipment owners to find other service outlets. Winter has set in; it’s dark on the way to work and dark on the way home and the white stuff flies around from time to time. If it weren’t for the holidays I’d hate this time of year. However, with the holidays upon us we seem to find ourselves turning to happier thoughts of family, friends and the planning of our festivities.

We have some exciting new course offerings to complement our tried-and true fundamentals courses. A couple courses of note are the Hologic Dimensions 2D/3D Mammography, the Philips Brilliance CT, Philips Allura FD family and soon the Toshiba Aquilion CT Family.
Check the enclosed schedule for available dates but be aware, they fill-up fast, so book as soon as you can. Even as RSTI training continues to grow and maintain its position as the best place to go for diagnostic imaging training, we have also been developing new opportunities for hospitals, service groups and inhouse imaging service professionals to be even more successful. From our used equipment sales group we have grown a pre-owned service parts offering. The best thing about these parts is that they are all fully tested and their quality is documented. The testing
procedures have been developed through coordination with the equipment experts in our training division, so you can expect the testing is thorough. To support service professionals when they purchase parts through RSTI Exchange, we offer an installation service where we send in an expert to assist you with effecting the repair and returning the system to full operation as soon as possible. Do you need the same RSTI support service we make available to our students? That’s just another benefit we offer along with your RSTI parts purchase. RSTI is pleased to announce the addition of the “Toshiba Aquilion CT Family” to our training schedule.
In addition we will be performing replacement and calibration labs for common failure items. They will include: // TUBE, HV CABLE REPLACEMENT AND CALIBRATION // SRU-H // HIGH VOLTAGE MULTIPLIER
The first class will run in April 2016 and will cover the Aquilion 4, 16, 32, and 64. The majority of the training will be hands-on to simulate actual problems you will come across in the field. Prior completion of our CT phase training or equivalent experience on another manufacturer is required for enrollment. The training will cover theory, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for the following:

DAVE’S RAVE DAVE CELEBRATES 10 YEARS WITH RSTI BY DAVE DOMANSKI RSTI Instructor
2015 is my ten year anniversary with RSTI and I must admit I am a little susceptible to nostalgia. Dave’s Rave first appeared in the RSTI newsletter in the summer of 2005; we had just installed a GE Proteus in the labs and I talked about CR and DR overtaking wet film in prominence and market penetration. I was also getting ready to teach a multi-vendor dry printer course covering the Kodak (remember them?) 8700 and AGFA Dry Star printers. It truly blows my mind to think about how much RSTI has grown and advanced in the past ten years and I have to say how proud I am to have been a part of it. Keeping pace with medical imaging technology and providing our students with the skills they need to further their careers is a way of life here at RSTI. In this time of giving, I would like to give thanks for all of you! In my time here at RSTI I have personally instructed more than 1,500 students from around the globe in a world class facility. I may not always remember names, but I will never forget how blessed I feel for having met you all.

FROM THE DESK OF TERRY SPETH BY TERRY SPETH VICE PRESIDENT, RSTI EXCHANGE Processes, procedures, QA forms, etc… etc… etc… the list goes on. You need a procedure to keep up with all of the procedures these days. However, the importance of all these steps is their bearing on a quality company. TESTED EQUIPMENT – RSTI completely tests all of the equipment that is sold. A system will be tested on site by a certified engineer before removal. Once the system is found to be in great working condition, and deemed saleable it is removed with care. If we cannot test the unit on-site, RSTI will remove the unit by our own RSTI de-installation crew and reinstall in our test bays. It is extremely important to know what type of product we are reselling because we stand behind our parts and equipment with warranties.
YES, QA forms. Do you want to save money on parts? RSTI repairs parts. We’ve got knowledge, and many years of experience… this saves you money. Yada, yada, yada… then they go through the quality testing process to ensure the repairs hold up.
Too often you have companies that are quick to resell a product that they don’t know if it works. RSTI would not be in the parts business long if this was our motto. Proper procedures and processes are needed to accomplish this.
Currently we are striving to become ISO Certified. ISO certification requires that we take a close look at how we do what we do and document it. This drives continuous improvement and helps make RSTI a better company. In the meantime, while we work on this process, RSTI is pleased to continue to provide the high quality parts and equipment we are known for.
TESTED PARTS – you got it, more QA forms and procedures. RSTI sells only tested parts. It takes a lot of effort and time to get a part into inventory and deem in good working order. It shouldn’t go unnoticed in the parts business when a company puts in time and effort to sell a quality part. There will be times when the tested part is more expensive… so just remember when buying parts from RSTI… they are tested!! REPAIRED PARTS – we have quality measures here too.

Processes, procedures, QA forms, etc… etc… etc… There are all beneficial. If you speak to an RSTI customer you’ll know they’ll be a customer for life. Process, procedures, QA Forms, etc… etc.. etc… Who knew they would pay off?
