Crafting Culture
FACULTY OF ART AND DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
We embrace our role as thinkers, inventors, and leaders. We cultivate a quality of life through sustainability, technology, and interdisciplinary exchange. We question rules, assumptions, and limits. We value tradition, craft, and context. We are team players that think and make across boundaries, have a moral and sense of communal effort and see design as a beautiful catalyst for positive change.
Craft is integrated into the learning and teaching process. Students learn to connect their heads to their hands; they learn how to work sustainably with communities; how to develop traditional knowledge into contemporary design practice; to respect nature as part of the design process.
