Class Catalog & Outreach Programs

Excite. Inspire. Create. Welcome to your Theatre. Learning is a process; it never ends. Such is the approach for Venice Theatre’s education programs. We offer a “no shortcuts,” high-quality theatre training program with top-notch, caring instructors. We also offer classes, camps, and workshops that are fun for all involved. Graduates of our program are currently working in the theatre field as professional actors and technicians. And they’re studying across the U.S. in prestigious theatre programs. Our graduates are teachers, medical students, and emerging writers. All of them will tell you that their theatre training─the problem-solving, the collaboration, the public presence─helped them grow in their careers. Each one will tell you that Venice Theatre classes and camps afforded them some of the most fun they’ve ever had. Whatever career young people pursue as adults, they will be more successful as a result of our arts education programs. They will be more creative, more disciplined, more conscientious…and more fun to be around. We also are proud of our adult students who keep pursuing new opportunities. They truly understand that learning never ends. So, whether you’re in kindergarten or a retiree looking to brush up on your theatre history or start a new stand-up career, Venice Theatre is ready to make a dramatic impact on your life! TTAP graduates are eligible to become professional stage technicians with journeymen status. TTAP is an opportunity for students to participate in a true hands-on apprenticeship experience. Apprenticeship is the oldest form of job training where students work one-onone with professionals in their area of expertise. Venice Theatre TTAP graduates are spread far and wide across the country and world. Several have returned to Venice Theatre to work as paid professionals with our design team. To learn more about TTAP, visit VeniceTheatre.org or call 941.486.8679.

Other summers have featured Broadway classics like Oklahoma!, Annie Get Your Gun, and West Side Story; biblically-themed musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Godspell; historically important masterpieces like Cabaret; and lighter fare like Footloose and Zombie Prom. Auditions for our 2020 SummerStock program are April 11, 2020 at 1 p.m. Performances (show to be determined) will be in August of 2020.
