very bride wants a special wedding—one that is different from any other. She wants a wedding that inspires and moves guests while creating lasting memories for both her and the groom. We have created another stunning bridal issue filled with creative ideas, stories, photos and advice for these discerning brides and grooms. It’s hard to believe this is our 6th bridal issue! Over the past several years, we have come to know many of the talented florists, event planners, jewelers, caterers and photographers who not only help to make beautiful successful weddings but also contribute to our bridal issue, and we are thrilled to present their work to you. We think this is the best issue yet. We added a few new features that we hope you love as much as we do. While bridal issues are often about the bride, we had some pretty “fly” guys who helped us showcase some of the trends in men’s formalwear. Venue 411 is a great resource for choosing your ceremony and reception location, and it’s safe to say there is a plethora of gorgeous options when choosing your perfect space. We also want to thank all the brides and photographers who sent in adorable pictures of the fur babies included in their wedding festivities. We wish we could have used them all. If you have feedback or ideas for future bridal issues, don’t keep them to yourself. Share them at editor@rsvp-montgomery.com. After all, most of our great ideas come from our readers! Congratulations! And happy planning.

rom Project Runway contestant to the star of her own TLC show “Bride By Design,” Alabamanative Heidi Elnora, designer and entrepreneur behind the brand by the same name, has been making brides’ dreams come true since 2006. If you visit the heidi elnora Atelier in Birmingham, you’ll be met with a plethora of stunningly simple, elegantlydesigned gowns, each hand sewn and stitched with great attention to detail. Heidi’s Southern heritage appeals to a variety of brides through her three collections: Build-A-Bride, Hello Darling and heidi elnora. Here, we feature a few of our favorites. If you see something that inspires you, check out the full collections at heidielnora. com or visit the flagship store at 2024 Morris Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama.
Perfect for the Southern bride, the Liz Jane features a sweetheart bodice covered in alencon lace and is detailed with off-the shoulder, lace straps. The ruched waistline accentuates the waist while the lace at the hem gives the wedding dress a sweeping look.

There’s so much to love about the Olivia Jane. A pant suit is a unique choice for your wedding day and was seen all over the bridal runways this season. This style features an illusion long sleeve bodice with a pin-tuck pant. The back of the pant has functioning covered buttons allowing the bride to reveal as little or as much skin as she wants. It comes in three color options, and we love the blush/ silver featured here.
The Aster Mae features a v-neck, mermaid style with a dropped waist and chapel length train. The two layers of ruffled horsehair at the skirt and a chenille trim at the hem add a touch of luxury. Keep it luxuriously simple or add a belt for a touch of glam.
(left) It’s all in the details! The Lacey Williams wedding gown is perfect for the classic bride. The pearl bodice is completely hand beaded in Paris and the skirt is created in Italy with layers upon layers of gathered tulle. This is the perfect wedding dress to dance the night away.
(above) Hand-appliqued Italian alencon lace, a low V-back and a natural waist are just a few of the reasons the Sheva Martine is a timeless stunner. BRIDAL RSVP 19

Bride’s Guy! By Peyton Flowers • Photos by Aubrie Moates
Groomswear is not talked about as often as the female counterparts, but that doesn’t mean it’s not as equally as important. What the groom and his guys are wearing helps set the tone for the wedding, and there’s no reason the groom’s personality and style shouldn’t shine through with his outfit selections. Here are a few of our favorite dapper looks from local shops to inspire you and look your best on the big day. After all, the guests may be looking at your girl – but she’s looking at you.

THE BRIDESMAID
Volume 6 DIARIES
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride By Mallory Anderson • Photo by Jonathon Kohn Photography Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. If I had a dollar for every time I have heard this dreadful phrase come out of a friend’s grandmother’s mouth, I would have enough money to pay for the 20 bridesmaid dresses hanging in my closet. The slogan was first used in an ad for Listerine mouthwash in the mid-20s when a girl’s biggest fears were, you know, things like being single and having halitosis. Talk about first world problems. As a single female in 2017, when I’m not worried about finding a husband or my breath smelling like the onions from last night’s dinner, there are a few questions and concerns that arise when taking on the role of a bridesmaid.
Should I bring a date to the wedding? My answer would be no unless you have a long term boyfriend. After asking several guys their opinion on this matter, all had the same response. It can be awkward if you don’t know many people attending
the wedding and even more awkward if you don’t know anyone at all. Don’t make your date sit with your parents or alone during the wedding ceremony simply to say that you brought a date. Worst case scenario: There’s a cute groomsman that could have been your dance partner for the night, but you had too much pride to go stag. You are now stuck admiring his Justin Timberlake dance moves from afar. Taking a new love interest to a wedding is like going to dinner and a movie on a first date. You don’t talk with your mouth full, and you don’t talk during a movie. Be confident and just do you!
because you were too stubborn to order the size up. This coming from the girl who has been there, done that, got the t-shirt. We all know weddings can be expensive, so why add pricey alterations on top of that? When ordering a dress online, make sure to look at the size chart. They put it on the website for a reason. Also, don’t wait until the week of the wedding to try your dress on. It will only add unnecessary stress to what is supposed to be a fun-filled week. If the number on the tag bothers you that bad, cut it out!
Should I order my bridesmaid dress a size up?
Do I need to write a speech for the rehearsal dinner or a toast?
Yes. Ask any girl who has been a bridesmaid in a fair share of weddings this question, and she will say yes. It is a much better feeling to leave your alterations appointment having to get your dress taken in than having to have the entire dress rebuilt
Always come prepared. If you are the maid/matron of honor or even a bridesmaid, take time to write down a funny (but appropriate) story followed by what her friendship means to you. Public speaking can be a nerve-racking thing for most. If you
get nervous talking in front of others, write it down on a notecard and make sure to practice a few times before the night of the rehearsal dinner. If there is a large bridal party, grab a handful of bridesmaids and write a poem or cute song and make a group toast. It’s fun, memorable and will help keep the rehearsal dinner from lasting all night.
Do I bring a gift to every shower? No. If you bring a gift to one shower, there is no need to buy a gift for the wedding. I recently asked some bridesto-be this question, and they told me they actually feel bad when friends or family bring a gift to every shower. Your presence is their present. As a member of the bride’s squad, she is inviting you because she loves you and wants to show you off! She needs a close friend to look at and smile when she opens the handme-down lettuce shaped salad plates that were not on her registry.
Am I required to host a shower or party? I would say this is recommended but not required. Don’t be afraid to ask the bride for her thoughts on this. Some prefer to only have one shower, and there’s a possibility that her mother’s friends have already requested to host. She will be able to give you direction on the type of shower she envisions and what would be a comfortable setting for her. However, as a bridesmaid, it is your responsibility to plan a fun lingerie shower. Make it a part of the bachelorette party or plan it for the night before the wedding.
Petal Perfect Attention brides-to-be… your bridal bouquet is a once in a lifetime accessory! When else do you get to carry a beautiful bunch of flowers designed especially for you, all day long? However, there are so many options out there that it can be a little overwhelming. To the amateur eye, it can be hard to know what flowers go best together. If you’re like me and can’t decipher a carnation from a chrysanthemum and think that craspedia is a rude word, then this article just might be your bridal bouquet bible.

PETS as GUESTS
Special days are meant to be shared with all of our loved ones, including our fur babies who love us without judgment and give us complete loyalty. So, on such a glorious occasion as your wedding day, it’s only natural to want to include your best friend in the festivities. Whether it’s a creative token of your affection or their actual role at the ceremony, we love these ideas for including pets as guests!
Engagements A picture says a thousand words, including how much we love our fur babies. Whether we are announcing to the world that we are tying the knot with our soul mate, or just wanting to include them in the most important day of our lives, a picture is a great way to pay tribute to our best friend.
Stationery Led & Sadie Owners: Gus & Nicole Katechis Photo by: Alan Evans
Customizing your wedding stationery with an illustration, monogram or logo is a unique way to include your pet. For Stefanie Glass and Josh Moon, they chose a fun illustration with the couple and their four fur babies, Oscar, Blue, Lili and Louie, to announce their big news.(Illustration created by Fancifulink Design)
Whitney Griswold & William Califf hired Kara Anne Paper to create a classic wedding logo of their dog Trigg. This way, they could be whimsical and fun on the envelope and still have the beautiful, more elegant card for guests to keep and that represented their wedding style.
Reception Cocktails Some venues may not allow pets, but that doesn’t mean you have to exclude them. Morgan Nall & KD Edenfield hired Karli Strohschein to design an adorable logo for their stationery, and they also created specialty cocktails named after their fur babies. Their dogs, Louie and Brink, were characterized in two delicious concoctions- Louie Lemonade and Brinktini.
Rachel and Tim’s gentle giant, Hurley, went off script and jumped in the fountain! Rachel’s dad had to come to the rescue but it’s in your best interest to have a designated pet sitter who can handle getting the pet dressed, dealing with ‘bathroom breaks’ and monitoring behavior!
The Ceremony When we asked our readers to send in their photos of their pets in their wedding festivities, we were flooded with precious images. Some couples included them as a sign-holder, a ring bearer, flower girl, an escort, and if they were really well behaved, some actually stood at the altar giving approval as vows were exchanged.

Petrey-Duncan Engagement Zackery Duncan and Haley Petrey met after the Duncans moved to Montgomery from Lubbock, Texas, for his dad’s job with WSFA. Haley began working for Zackery’s mother, Ginny, as a public relations assistant for her company, Ginerocity. The two hit it off during the interview, and by the end, Ginny was already planning introductions for the couple. Haley and Zackery had their first date at El Rey in Old Cloverdale two weeks later, where they sat and talked until well after the restaurant had closed. On December 14, 2016, Zackery proposed under the Zilker Park Trail of Lights light tree in Austin, Texas, where the couple now resides.
Sulhoff-Parker Engagement Katy Sulhoff of Gainesville, Georgia, and Bryan Parker of Greenville, Alabama, plan to wed May 6, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Montgomery. They first met through mutual friends in the summer of 2013. Bryan had recently moved back to Montgomery after working for Congressman Jo Bonner in his Baldwin County office. Katy was working for Lt. Governor Kay Ivey at the time. Through work and social functions, they stayed in touch and went on dates, but it wasn’t until Labor Day 2014 that the two started dating. Bryan proposed in the old wooden church on his family’s land in Butler County on December 2, 2016. Afterwards, the couple celebrated with their family and friends in Montgomery at a dinner Bryan secretly arranged. Katy is currently the executive director of the Alabama Association of Conservation Districts and Bryan is an economic development representative at PowerSouth Energy. Katy is the daughter of Roger and Nancy Sulhoff of Gainesville, Georgia. Bryan is the son of Jim and Shelia Cassidy of Greenville, Alabama, and Randall and Anneke Parker of Luverne, Alabama. 72

Glass-Moon Engagement Stefanie Glass and Josh Moon met in 2012 when they were both first-time attendees at a workout class in Millbrook, Alabama. Bonding over inadequate gym techniques and sarcastic comments of other gym-goers, Josh and Stefanie formed a simple friendship that neither imagined would rekindle later down the road. Stefanie took a job back in her home state of Tennessee while Josh continued his journalism work in Montgomery. Fast forward to 2015 when Josh reached out to Stefanie and they began communicating as long distance friends. With both of them no longer in a relationship, Josh and Stefanie quickly realized they were interested in each other as more than friends and decided to try a long-distance relationship. After eight months of everyother-weekend drives and halfway vacations, Josh convinced Stefanie to move back to Montgomery. In December of 2016, Josh asked Stefanie to marry him. The soon-to-be Moons will be married on June the 3rd at a private family ceremony on St. Simons Island. The two will reside in Cloverdale with their four dogs. Stefanie is the daughter of Steve and Lea Glass of Decaturville, Tennessee, and Josh is the son of Pat and Paul Moon of Decatur, Alabama.

Wimberley-Skelton Engagement Falling in love with your best friend is a true blessing. Such is the case with Ashley Nicole Wimberley and Patrick Dean Skelton. Old friends, that were reunited after many years, these two fell in love while doing the things they love the most: music, traveling and a love for cuisine are the ties that formed the bond of their relationship. The two were engaged, while visiting New Orleans, during the 2016 Jazz Fest. Patrick arranged a romantic gondola tour for the couple, while the sounds of some of their favorite musicians echoed through the air. While enjoying the sights of famous New Orleans landmarks and the sounds of the best music the city can offer, the gondolier asked Patrick to retrieve an empty wine bottle from the water. Unbeknownst to Ashley, Patrick had previously written her a love letter and asked the gondolier to strategically place it in the bottle. Patrick handed Ashley the bottle, and asked her to see what was inside. By the time she was done with the letter, Patrick was already down on his knee. Ashley works as a territory account coordinator for Colonial Life, and Patrick is an accomplished restaurateur. On April 30, 2017, the couple will wed at the Seaside Chapel in Seaside, Florida. They plan to honeymoon in San Francisco, and of course, New Orleans. Patrick and Ashley will continue to live in Montgomery, Alabama.

Praise music was provided by Hillary Marie Miles, which was part of a special communion and worship portion of the ceremony. The bride wore an ivory, A-line gown featuring an illusion, boatneck over sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves and a stunningly patterned appliqué by designer Temperly London. Her bouquet, designed by Carron Morrow, was a cascading earthy arrangement of Juliet and Ecuadorian roses, lisianthus, silver brunia, burgundy dahlias, succulents, pepper berries, and sweetheart roses. The bride’s sisters, Mary Grace Brown and Kimberly Ruth McGregor, served as maids of honor and other bridesmaids included Nikki Crochet, Danielle Daniel and Rebecca Wilson. Hanging from above the gazebo were hundreds of crystal strands, crystal medallions and roses. The cake was a five-tier buttery confection with varying flavors made by Ivy Davis of Liger’s Bakery. Guests enjoyed a 20-foot aquatic ice bar that was laden in thousands of large Atlantic shrimp, crab claws and Bloody Mary oyster shots. The three-thousand-pound ice sculpture was as clear as the South Seas and was full of colorful fish, turtles and kelp. Mouthwatering gourmet food items were prepared by chefs from Australia, New York, Atlanta and Highlands, North Carolina, under the direction of Chef Tim Lundy from Distinctive Design Events. Carron Morrow of Personal Touch Events was the event planner for the entire event as well as the floral designer for the many
gorgeous blooms. As a favor from the couple, guests each received a personal caricature drawing by Preston Lindsay of Atlanta. A surprise for the bride and groom and all the guests was the arrival of family friends of the McGregor’s, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harvey. The Harvey’s encouraged the newlyweds to love each other and maintain a family meant for “happily ever after.” Following the bouquet and garter toss, the couple left for their honeymoon in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, amongst many wellwishing guests waving sparklers and tossing rose petals. Griffin-Katechis Wedding October 9, 2016
O
n October 9, 2016, Greta Nicole Griffin tied the knot with Costas Theophilos Katechis at Chris’ Plantation. The bride, a Prattville native, is the daughter of David and Felicia Blackstock and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Griffin. The groom, a Montgomery native, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theophilos Katechis. Rev. Woods Lisenby performed a unique ceremony in the late afternoon in front of a pond on the plantation. The wedding party walked out to “Chapel of Love” by the Dixie Cups, and the bride walked out to Adam Powell’s acoustic guitar version of “Blackbird” by the Beatles. The newly married couple left the altar to the tune of “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, a song that has sentimental meaning to the couple. For the ceremony, Nicole wore a strapless, champagne lace gown with a dramatic train. The flowers were airy, whimsical arrangements in hues of peach and sage. They added a touch of femininity to the rustic, outdoor venue. A special touch was added to make the bouquets textural and personal with the addition of succulents, the bride’s favorite plant. Nicole’s matron of honor was her best friend since middle school, Cassie Pierce, who wore a sea-glass colored Anthropologie tulle skirt and an ivory lace top. Other bridesmaids included her friends, Kimberly Davis, Mila Johnson and Christina Wright. The bridesmaids each wore floor-length dresses alternating in Anthropologie and Allure styles. Their bouquets were shades of sage green and peach using a variety of Juliet David Austin roses and succulents. Costas’s best man was his father, and other groomsmen included his brothers, Chris Katechis, Chase Katechis, Randy Katechis and Theo Goodin. The groomsmen wore khaki suits with boutonnieres that were a combination of peach flowers and succulents. Brady Browder was the ring bearer, and Carolina Pierce and Trinity and Savannah Goodin were the flower girls. Julie Lindsey directed the wedding, and the floral arrangements were designed by Christy Calhoun. The reception also took place at Chris’ Plantation. he wedding ceremony of Taylor Lindsey Gunter of Montgomery, Alabama, and Taylor Alexander Pair of Albertville, Alabama, took place on March 5, 2016, at Frazer United Methodist Church in Montgomery, followed by a reception at The Warehouse at Alley Station. Pastor Lee Cadden of Cornerstone Church in Auburn, Alabama, performed the ceremony and premarital counseling for the couple. They wanted their wedding to glorify the Lord and honor all of their friends and family that helped make their journey with them. They also wanted their wedding to be personal to them and their journey together while involving the people they care so much about. The bride carried flowers with blush and cream tones and magnolia leaves by Paper and Petal of Huntsville, Alabama. Taylor’s ten bridesmaids wore long Nouvelle Amsale dresses in tan chiffon in three different styles from Bella Bridesmaids in Birmingham, Alabama. The thirteen groomsmen wore Jos. A. Bank navy suits with simple, but elegant, boutonnieres made of cream rose and surrounding greenery. The bride’s matron of honor was Lauren Wheeler, and the maid of honor was Rebecca Beers. David Pair was the best man.
Billie Taylor, the wedding director, helped the ceremony run smoothly, and Tammy Griffin of A Catered Affair was the reception caterer. Music for the ceremony was provided by Blake Yoder, Jake Carnley, Josh Carnley, Dustin Adams and Taylor Holt, and the Trace Pridgen Band performed at the reception. Nick Drollette, the photographer, and Trent Erwin, the videographer, helped capture their beautiful day. Natalie Brendle and Kellie Guthrie decorated the reception and had the Warehouse looking flawless for the big celebration. At the end of the night, the couple rode off in a 1959 Ford retractable Skyliner provided by John Doss and headed for their honeymoon in St. Lucia. They reside in Auburn, where the bride works as a special events coordinator for the Auburn Athletics Department, and the groom is a small business owner for Paired Design Co. and college minister for Cornerstone Church.

Tucker-Auman Wedding May 21, 2016
T
he marriage of Kindall Blair Tucker of Montgomery, Alabama, and Benjamin Lamar Auman of Union Grove, Alabama, took place on May 21, 2016, at Church of the Ascension in Montgomery. The Rev. Andrew Thayer conducted a formal Episcopal wedding ceremony. The bride wore an off-the-shoulder lace gown with a cathedral veil by designer Ines diSanto from White Dresses in Huntsville, Alabama. The bouquets were flowers of soft whites and pastel pinks, which included garden roses and hydrangeas with seeded eucalyptus. To support her on this special day, Kindall had a wedding party of eight, which included her graduate school roommate, Bonnie Fulks, who served as her maid of honor and her childhood friend, Mrs. Meredith Gammon, who served as her matron of honor. All bridesmaids wore a long Cinderella-blue gown by Ivy & Aster from Bella Bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid chose a unique neckline to fit her individual taste. Kindall’s flower girl, Tucker Pittman, wore a white smocked heirloom dress with a flower halo. Flowers complimented the bride’s bouquet in soft whites and pinks. Benjamin had a wedding party of nine, which
included his father, Lamar Auman, as his best man and his brothers, Lee and Jonathan Auman. Each groomsman looked striking in a black formal tuxedo by Vera Wang with white garden rose boutonnieres to match the bridesmaids. After a kiss to seal the deal, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the Alabama Activity Center where their floral designer, Graylillies, transformed the space with large floral arrangements of patience garden roses, porcelain tea roses, lisianthus, hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus. Guests enjoyed Montgomery Catering, which provided hors d’oeuvres, shrimp and grits, salads, and a carving station. Cake Designs provided the four- flavor bride’s cake. The band, Black Jacket, kept the dance floor full all night. Brooke Glassford of Colorbox Photographers took photos, and Two Hawks captured the videography. At the end of the night, the couple departed in a horse-drawn carriage. To begin their lives together, they flew to St. Lucia for a weeklong honeymoon at the Grande St. Lucian where they snorkeled, climbed the Gros Piton and explored St. Lucia. The couple resides in Huntsville, where they are both employed with Huntsville City Schools.

TOP TIER ENTERTAINMENT
By Angela Hardgrave • Photos by Josh Moates / Kim Box Photographers You’ve found the dress, booked the venue, ordered the flowers and chosen a cake. Now what? What creates the right mood and atmosphere for your perfect day? If you said music and lighting, you are absolutely correct! Music is the undercurrent of any special event, especially a wedding. It’s a great uniter of generations and sets the tone of the ceremony and reception. Lighting is equally as important, transforming your venue into the stunning space of your dreams. If you live in the River Region, there are two fantastic guys who can take care of both of those for you—Clint Darby and Josh Oswald of Top Tier Entertainment. Darby and Oswald, who have over 30 years of combined experience performing and producing music, launched Top Tier Entertainment in January 2015 at the Southern Bridal Faire. Oswald said, “We got our first booking at that event, and it’s been a roller coaster since then. In our first year, we serviced about 25 clients. In 2016, we really upped our game and serviced almost 75 clients, and this year is on track to eclipse 2016.” Darby said, “Collectively, we had already been doing weddings as a band. So, we already knew the ins and outs of the planning, timelines and traditions of weddings. Josh had been DJ’ing for some time, so the transition was very easy. We took our time launching the collective company Top Tier Entertainment. We started
small, really working hard to create our own unique brand in the industry. We pride ourselves on our professional equipment, a very polished appearance that is going to enhance the wedding space, the value of services we bring to our clients, and our willingness to go the extra mile for our brides and grooms.” Top Tier Entertainment offers a wide range of services for their clients, and the reviews and customer testimonials attest to their talent and professionalism. Customers have given them five stars and glowing reviews on WeddingWire. “We’re a full service music entertainment company. We offer DJ services for backyard weddings and sweet sixteens to huge parties and receptions. We also offer live music services ranging from solo acoustic to full band, audio and lighting rental services, sound systems, wireless microphones, stage lighting, and battery-operated environment up lighting,” said Oswald. Darby added, “We provide ceremony packages that include all the sound and audio music, a lapel mic for the officiant, and wireless handheld microphones for vocalists. We have three primary DJ packages for receptions that are each unique and provide our brides with various options and amenities, like our lighted DJ facades, professional grade sound systems, fun and exciting light shows for the dance floor, master of ceremony services, and uplighting.” New for 2017 are packages specifically for uplighting. They will be offering new battery-
powered and wirelessly wifi controlled uplights that will allow brides to totally transform both the wedding and reception spaces. Both Darby and Oswald enjoy the excitement of being involved in weddings and helping couples create something they love. Darby said, “Every wedding is different and every couple is unique, and one thing you have to be, especially on the big day, is flexible. Things can often get hectic as minor details shift, music selections change at the last minute, or maybe it rains on your outdoor wedding. As a DJ, we help organize the flow of the reception through the formalities, all the way to the dance floor. And that part is a blast! But, I think it’s always important to remember, it’s not about us, it’s about the bride and groom. We are there to serve them and work at making their big day as stress free, fun and special as possible.” Although, as Darby said, all the weddings and couples are unique, one in particular stood out to Oswald. He said, “It was an event we did in Auburn for a great family. The bride’s family was from India and the groom’s was from the U.S. We were booked for the entire weekend for live music for the rehearsal dinner, to DJ the American cocktail hour and to DJ a huge American/Indian jubilee. It was a blast, and the clients couldn’t have been better to work with. It was a full weekend of work, and we were exhausted when we rolled back into Montgomery on Sunday night, but it was a very fun and rewarding event.” Oswald concluded by saying, “We’re just normal guys, with normal lives, trying to run a company that offers extraordinary products and services. Our customers come first, and we always try to go the extra mile to make sure they are happy.” For more information, or to book their services, go to www. toptierentertainment.net or visit their Facebook page at www. facebook.com/choosetoptier.

Venue: Determine type of venue and begin calling to check availability (a lot of venues begin booking more than a year in advance, so be sure to schedule yourself tentatively if you are very interested) Discuss what is included with the venue, room capacity, available rentals, catering options and room regulations with venue coordinator Be sure to ask how long your rental is (a weekend, 4 hours, etc.)—you also need to find out when your vendors may begin decorating If serving alcohol, be sure to ask if you are allowed to bring your own and if ice is provided Purchase event insurance/liquor liability through your venue or insurance agent (most run around $150) Ask about clean up responsibilities and the return of a security deposit if one is in place
Caterer: Book caterer and schedule meeting with him/her to discuss menu options and the style of food you are wanting (having a headcount at this point in time is important) *Remember, if allowing guests to bring a date, a wedding of 100 quickly turns to 200—it is important to determine this early on because caterers normally place a dollar amount per head you expect Determine style of reception (buffet, formal dinner, etc.) Determine who is responsible for: -Bringing plates, forks, spoons, knives, cups, napkins, cake stands, etc. -Bringing trash cans and handling removal of trash at end of the night -Getting ice and coolers -Providing bartenders and/or servers *If serving alcohol, it is important to ask about who will handle serving it -Cleanup

Videographer: Book videographer Make sure you give him/her a list also if wanting specifics—it is also great to ask if he/she can get the guests involved by asking them to share a special time they had with the couple or even just a simple congrats!
