Save SIL! We need your help to protect our service. Sheffield Information Link is currently under threat. If you have found this What’s On guide useful, or we’ve helped you find childcare, leisure activities or other services for your family, please make your voice heard by signing our petition. SIL is currently being assessed as part of Sheffield City Council’s Customer First Project. The project is considering whether family information services could be better delivered by a call centre. We believe that the answer is “NO!”, and the results of our recent customer survey show that you do too! We need as many signatures as possible to make a real difference. There are four ways to sign the petition: 1. Sign the form overleaf: You can find a copy of our petition on the back of this page – just complete it and send back to our Freepost address. 2. Online: Go to https://sheffield.moderngov.co.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?ID =63. You will have to log in to the Sheffield City Council website to sign the petition, but this is a very quick and easy process. 3. Copies to share: We’d be delighted to give you extra copies of the petition for your friends and family to sign. Contact us on info@sheffinfolink.org.uk or 0114 275 6699 to request copies. 4. In person: You can call in to our shop at 11 Leopold Street (Mon, Wed and Fri, 9.00-12.30), or speak to our Information Officers when you see them in your community – they will have a copy you can sign.
If you’re on Facebook, you can also help us by clicking ‘Like’ on our ‘Save SIL’ page. It’s at http://www.facebook.com/pages/SaveSIL/199751426718123?sk=wall. It won’t sign the petition but will help us raise awareness!
Thank you! 3
Sheffield Information Link Petition against the inclusion of Family Information Services in the Customer Transformation Programme and the removal of services from Sheffield Information Link.
Sheffield City Council is considering removing Family Information Services from Sheffield Information Link. This is part of a large Customer Transformation Programme being conducted by the local authority. It is unclear what level of service will be available via the Sheffield City Council call centre and/or other departments as this is also subject to the current spending reviews and budget cuts. We the undersigned strongly object to the potential removal of family information services from Sheffield Information Link who have successfully delivered these services to families in Sheffield for 23 years. We believe they are the best option for families. We don't want it all to go into a call centre. We want the Council to re-think the inclusion of this service in the Customer Transformation Programme. This is a specialist service which should be delivered by the experts.
