TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS NATIONAL HONOURS AND AWARDS REGULATIONS 2014 (Legal Notice 56 of 2014) MADE by the Acting Premier under section 9 of the National Honours and Awards Ordinance.

Citation and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Honours and Awards Regulations 2014 and shall come into operation on December 15, 2014.

Forms of medals 2. (1) The Order of National Hero Medal, as shown in Figure 1 of the schedule, is a gold Cross pattée overlaying a Turks Head Cactus and King Conch shell wreath. The wreath emerged between each of the four arms in a symmetrical pattern. The gold Cross pattée is suspended from a gold decorative crown with ribbons attached at the bottom and a ring surmounted at the top. The centre, overlaying the cross, is a circle with a Coat of Arms, surrounded by the words “Turks and Caicos Islands” to the top and “Order of National Hero” to the bottom. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide. (2) The Order of Turks and Caicos Islands, as shown in Figure 2 of the Schedule, is an oval shaped emblem, surrounded by a green and red Cactus wreath. A crest in the form of a majestic crown is suspended at the top of the shield, with a decorative cross surmounted at the top of the crown. Inside the shield is an image of the Turks and Caicos pelican, bordered by a map of the Turks and Caicos Islands against crystal turquoise waters. Surrounding the pelican, are the words “Turks and Caicos Islands” at the top and “Order of Turks and Caicos Islands” to the bottom. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide. (3) The Patriotic Award— (a) in the case of the Cayos Medal, as shown in Figure 3(a) of the Schedule, is a gold Cross pattée overlaying a Turks Head Cactus and King Conch shell wreath. The wreath emerged between each of the four arms in a symmetrical pattern. The gold Cross pattée is suspended from a classic gold,

white and turquoise ribbon at the top. The centre, overlaying the cross, is a circle with a Coat of Arms, surrounded by the words “Turks and Caicos Islands” at the top and “Patriotic Award” to the bottom. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide; (b) in the case of the Mouchoir Bank Medal, as shown in Figure 3(b) of the Schedule, is a silver Cross pattée overlaying a Turks Head Cactus and Spiny lobster wreath. The wreath emerged between each of the four arms in a symmetrical pattern. The gold cross pattée is suspended from a gold, white and turquoise ribbon at the top. The centre, overlaying the cross, is a circle with a Coat of Arms, surrounded by the words “Turks and Caicos Islands” at the top and “Patriotic Award” to the bottom. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide. (4) The Meritorious Service Medal, as shown in Figure 4 of the Schedule, is a circular Medallion, surrounded by a silver replica of a sisal wreath. The wreath at the centre of the oval, is an image of the Turks and Caicos Coat of Arms against a white background, surrounded by the words “The Turks and Caicos Islands” at the top and “Meritorious Service Medal” to the bottom. This is surrounded by the different hues of the turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands, followed by a ring of dolphins. The medal is suspended at the top with a turquoise ribbon trimmed with gold. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide. (5) The Long Service Medal, as shown in Figure 5 of the Schedule, is a circular Medallion. At the centre of this Medallion, is a depiction of is the Turks and Caicos Islands Coat of Arms against a gold background. The Coat of Arms is surrounded by the words “Turks and Caicos Islands” at the top and “Long Service Medal” to the bottom. Suspended at the top is a decorative gold ring. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide. (6) The National Young Achiever’s Medal, as shown in Figure 6 of the Schedule, is an oval shaped Emblem, surrounded by a green and red Cactus wreath. A crest in the form of a majestic crown is suspended at the top of the shield, with a decorated cross surmounted at the top of the crown. Inside the oval is an illustration of the Turks and Caicos Spiny lobster, bordered by a map of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Surrounding the lobster are the words “Turks and Caicos Islands” at the top and “National Young Achiever’s Medal” to the bottom. This Medal is 1¾ inches wide. __________
