P RUNDLE ACADEMY ALUMNI FEATURES - Chris Huband ‘11 and Sarah Lamoureux ‘11 Chris and Sarah share their successes and accomplishments upon reaching 5 years since their graduation

“I think it is important as an alumni

to give back in any way you can.”

After graduating from Rundle Academy,

Chris Huband ‘11 enrolled in

Business at Mount Royal University and has since earned a business degree

in supply chain management. Chris currently works for ConocoPhillips in Calgary.

After his Rundle days, Chris continued to play football and swapped out his

Cobra jersey for a Calgary Colts jersey; he played with the Colts for two years. Chris has been part of the Cobras program for over 10 years as both a player and volunteering as an assistant coach.

It’s not surprising that Chris still remains connected to Rundle. During his days at the Academy, Chris was involved in many extracurricular activities in the school and was a decorated athlete being awarded the Male Athlete of the Year in 2008. Chris also holds The Alberta Bowl Football Record for the most points, most yards, and longest run.

When we asked Chris what he misses most about Rundle, he immediately said, “I miss the small classes at Rundle and the individualized attention

I received from the teachers. Rundle Academy is a family community that looks out for one another.”

We are proud to have Chris in our school community and are grateful for his contributions as a proud Rundle alumnus.

Alumna Sarah Lamoureux ‘11 is currently studying Information Design at Mount Royal University which allows her to use all of the subjects that she enjoyed such as math, science, art and design. The work varies from creating the design of a museum exhibition, to way-finding systems for hospitals, web design, video, book and magazine production, usability testing for mobile applications, and of course graphic design.

After Sarah graduates from the program, she hopes to complete a masters in either exhibition design or museum studies. Her dream job is to one day work at the EMP (Experience Music Project) in Seattle in some sort of an exhibition design aspect.

In 2014, Sarah had the opportunity to participate in an exchange semester in Graz, Austria at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences. Knowing that she doesn’t always ‘put herself out there’, this turned out to be one of the greatest experiences of her life that included new adventures, travelling abroad and making friends from all over the world.

Currently, Sarah works at Crave Cupcakes in their head office as their Brand Communication Designer creating their instructional design, social media, and other design work. She loves the company, her large desk by a bay window and the perks of baked goods!
