Academy
At Rundle Academy...
Headmaster's Appeal Rundle Academy has a spirit of innovation, acceptance, and success. It is my hope that in the coming years, we will come together as a community and redesign the Academy's spaces so they further embody our this spirit. Innovation: We are excited to be partnered with the world's leading experts in design, IDEO. They are pushing our thinking and engaging all members of our community in this exciting design process. Acceptance: We remain focused on an inclusive environment that leverages the principles of Universal Design for Learning. In each iteration of the design process we honour our student's need for flexibility in their physical spaces. Success: We believe that through our Academy programming we will allow each student to reach their potential, and ultimately as result, they will achieve success. Thank you for joining us on this journey to further honour the spirit of Rundle Academy and to allow our facilities grow with our students and our program. My best, Jason B. Rogers
We Move Mountains
We Move Students to Learn
Our History In 2003, Rundle Academy relocated to the Altadore Campus. At that time, the enrollment of the school was approximately 115 students in grades 4 through 12. The junior/senior high school was originally established as a Baptist training centre and since being acquired by Rundle College, has gradually been renovated to include 20 classrooms, a learning commons, science laboratory, junior and senior high lunchroom, and a fully functional gymnasium.) Over the course of the last 15 years the Academy has seen its enrolment increase by 90% to 235 students. The increase in enrolment has been a result of the successful academic program and a high quality educational experience that has drawn greater interest and applications for admission.
Academ
While the growth of the program can be attributed to the quality of educational programming available, the Academy is currently challenged by the limitations of the facilities in serving a population of its current size. It is imperative that the future outlook of Rundle College Society be inclusive of plans to redevelop the physical spaces of Rundle Academy with a focus on preserving the culture and exceptional educational programming.
Academy "Moving Walls" Campaign Phase I Goal: $400,000 We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to show your support of Rundle Academy. With your help, we will be able to complete Phase I of the Academy redesign project and advance the learning offered at Rundle Academy. We would like to invite you to our fundraiser on May 2 to exhibit more of our vision. (Please see enclosed invitation for more details.)
Phase I IDEO’s Educational Design team will visit Rundle Academy to conduct a series of workshops with staff, students, parents, faculty and board to answer the question: “What is the future of the Academy?” • Make design recommendations for implementation • Summer 2018 - Redesign the current Jr/Sr Lunchroom and Assembly Hall spaces for measurement of future design plans
