Camp prices Each camp is priced individually so you can build a schedule that works best for your camper. See the camp descriptions and prices in the following pages.

child care Campers may be dropped off and picked up no later than 30 minutes before/after camp. For our KinderCrew camp we offer additional child care from 2:15 pm–3:30 pm at a cost of $35/week per camper.

COVID-19 Safety measures Rundle is well-prepared to offer a safe summer camp experience. Rundle staff will adhere to the same strict safety protocols as implemented at our campuses throughout the school year. Our facilities and cleaning staff will follow all safety guidelines. All guest instructors will be trained in our cleaning procedures and safety guidelines. Please note: In order to adhere to our safety guidelines, our curiosity camps are capped at 45 campers. All sport camp maximum numbers will depend on Alberta Government and AHS guidelines.

Camps will take place at the Rundle College 17th Avenue SW Campus [7615 17 Avenue SW]. Our camps are open to all kids entering kindergarten – grade 6 in the fall.

lunch options For our full-day campers, lunch and creative play will be from 11:30 am–12:30 pm each day. Half-day campers are welcome to stay for lunch at an additional child care charge of $35/week. Campers may supply their own snacks and lunch or order through our Healthy Hunger partner program. More information will be available after registration.

refund policy If your plans change, refunds/credits are offered up to June 1, 2021. All refunds or credits are subject to a $50 admin fee. Full refunds are offered if camps are cancelled as mandated by the Alberta Government or AHS. Please note: In order to run our curiosity camps, we require a minimum of 15 campers, except for Circus Camp, where we will require 22 campers.

Cycling Skills Camp $195 Level 1 Grades 1–3 | 12:30 pm–3:30 pm Level 2 Grades 4–6 | 8:30 am–11:30 am Bow Cycle and Rundle ASCENT Leaders will help kids improve their riding skills from beginning to intermediate. Our instructors will teach a variety of safety and riding skills to promote confidence and independence. Participants will need to bring their own bicycle and helmet with them to camp.

Grades 1–3 | 8:30 am–11:30 am Grades 4–6 | 12:30 pm–3:30 pm We are excited to partner with Bow Cycle to bring this Jr. Bike Mechanics course to summer camps! Run by Bow Cycle Service School staff and supported by Rundle ASCENT Leaders, this camp introduces campers to the basic functions of bicycles. Experienced Bow Cycle mechanics will teach your child how to adjust gears and brakes, repair flat tires, adjust bearings, true wheels, and other maintenance tips that are essential for every cyclist to know. Kids will have a chance to troubleshoot problems using their own bikes. Campers will take short rides around the campus to test out their repairs.

Jr. Bike Mechanics Camp $185

Level 1 & 2 riders will be led through obstacles and challenges on campus intended to build safety awareness and bike riding flow. Level 2 riders will also have the opportunity to go on short excursions close to campus to develop their basic street and trail riding skills. All campers should be able to ride a bike without training wheels upon camp start. Instructors will also adapt their program to the skill level and interests of the camp participants.

Through a variety of fun and engaging hands on experiences, each camper will explore the basics of comparison shopping and the way advertisements influence how people spend money. At the end of the week, campers will show off their wares in a pop up shop and have the opportunity to add wheels and skate on their own skateboard creations.

SK8trepreneur Camp helps kids develop their own business plan using skateboard culture, and incorporating financial literacy and design thinking. Each camper will receive their own skate deck to “trick out” and develop their brand. Campers will learn to use Tinkercad to design and produce products in addition to creating a logo and a personal website.

Our soccer camp offers a balance of recreational and competitive skill development and game play. This camp encourages participation and a love of the game.

Our Tech Wizard campers will use important educational technologies such as G-Suite (Google Slides, Google Docs), Typing Club, Coding with Scratch Junior, Green Screen, and Zoom to promote curiosity, independence and exploration. Campers will be taught how to access and use digital libraries.

Circus Camp $200

Campers will learn about digital citizenship and ways to conduct research safely online. They will benefit from exposure to important apps and programs that are frequently used in classrooms.

All campers will be provided with an iPad to use during their time at Tech Wizards Camp. We will be taking plenty of outdoor wellness breaks to enjoy the sun.

You may want to run away and join the circus after this camp after being taught by full-time performer and circus teacher Flyin’ Bob. Circus skills are a fun, non-competitive way to improve your balance, coordination, concentration, focus, explore creativity, feel good about yourself and have fun playing with new toys. Some skills are easy, some you will have to work hard at, but we guarantee you will not be bored. You will learn the basics of feather balancing, scarf and ball juggling, plate and poi spinning, tightwire and slackline walking, handheld stilts, flower sticks, diabolo, and rola bola balancing. What’s a rola bola? You’ll have to register to find out! Hint: It’s really fun!

Have you always wanted to go to a school of wizardry and magic? Now is your chance! What House will you be in? Want to learn about magical creatures? Find out by exploring the magical world of Harry Potter, while learning French in a unique, fun environment. All French levels are welcome and personalized for your own extraordinary adventure by our Rundle ASCENT leaders. Using games, art and activities, campers will celebrate summer “Harry Potter” style while brushing up on their French skills.

Inspired Art Camp $200

Grades 4–6 | 8:30 am–11:30 am Grades 1–3 | 12:30 pm–3:30 pm Our local artist in residence, Debi Baldwin, will teach multiple mediums such as clay, pastels, acrylics and watercolours. These techniques will be applied to art themes including animals, nature, and abstracts. Develop skills in drawing, painting and mixed media with step-by-step instructions to create art projects uniquely your own. This program will be supported by Rundle’s ASCENT Leaders and each camper will receive personalized support so that they are inspired to create a masterpiece!

Our kid-friendly writers camp will empower campers to increase their confidence with the Empowering Writers® program and Alberta curriculum. Using engaging literature and fun writing projects, campers will review narrative and informational writing and have an opportunity to publish and present their work. Campers will explore their favourite literature while working in the beauty of our outdoor writing studio. Each day, our resident author Simon Rose*, will lead the students through guided writing activities to help them turn their ideas into compelling stories. Mr. Rose will provide valuable feedback to our young authors through the composition process. All campers will receive a creative writing journal, fun summer writing activities to extend the learning to September and a progress report to help identify areas of success and growth for your child. * Simon Rose is an author of science fiction and fantasy

novels for children and young adults and has written several writing guides for aspiring authors. He has also written many non-fiction books about a variety of topics and has a passion for helping campers explore where ideas come from. Visit simon-rose.com.

Our Inspired Wellness Retreat is a camp where kids can connect with nature, friends, and their personal wellness.

This camp consists of a variety of sports and games, appropriate for all levels that aims to develop a love of sport and recreation. Multi-sport camp is a great opportunity for youth to develop a variety of athletic skills in a supportive and fun environment.

We will be teaching a wide variety of sports in each session, such as rookie rugby, touch/flag football, ultimate, kickball/t-ball/belly baseball, quidditch, badminton, lacrosse, cricket, handball, and more! Everyday will be a new experience!

Each day, campers will explore a growth mindset through literature, music and journaling activities that inspire them. Campers will make their own smoothie at the smoothie bar while learning about positive nutrition. Daily yoga, hikes and outdoor games will energize your children and give them a positive physical outlet. Creative arts, gardening and meditation will allow campers to focus on their senses and a connection to the natural environment. Through literature and art, we will explore Indigenous respect for the land and others. This camp is guaranteed to help your child reduce anxiety and improve their overall wellbeing.

Week 4 | July July 26–30 LEGO Camp $185 ®

Grades 4–6 | 8:30 am–11:30 am Grades 1–3 |12:30 pm–3:30 pm Rundle LEGO® camps encourage curiosity and creativity while reinforcing STEAM based learning. Kids will design, problem solve and grow their basic understanding of construction and robotics, and have fun working cooperatively with friends. Wellness breaks for outdoor play are built into the program plans.

Put on your safety gear and head over to the Construction Zone! Kids will imagine and build a variety of construction vehicles and tools to create innovative structures for the future. Campers will learn about the basics of simple machines and robust structures through a variety of fun guided builds. Daily free LEGO® play will promote our young designers to ask questions and solve problems with their creations.

Volleyball has traditionally been viewed as a difficult sport to introduce to young children, but it doesn’t have to be. This summer camp program provides campers with a fun and rewarding volleyball experience.

Combining fun hands-on builds with creative coding, kids will love putting their engineering skills to the test. LEGO® Construction Zone Robotics camp is designed to build confidence in STEAM learning. Campers will enjoy fun challenges like constructing a robotic arm or a programmable puppy. Ages 4-6 | 8:00 am–2:15 pm Child care available after camp until 3:30 pm for $35/week This program is intended to support our newest students transition to the Rundle College Kindergarten program. However, the camp is suitable for preparing all young children to attend kindergarten programs in the fall. We will provide campers with fun summer practice activities to extend the learning through to September. All campers will receive a KinderCrew t-shirt and a c.Lab progress report to help identify areas of success and growth for your child.

Getting Ready to Learn If your preschooler is getting ready to go to kindergarten, this camp will help them to sharpen their literacy, math, and writing skills in fun and developmentally appropriate ways. • Math Centre helps Centre children develop math skills with a variety of materials and fun strategies. • Letter and Sounds Centre promotes Centre basic phonics and a love of books. • Writing Centre encourages beginning letter formation through fun early writing activities.

Getting Ready for Friendships and Play To ready your preschooler for kindergarten, this camp will help them sharpen their cooperative problem solving and communication skills and encourage creativity in fun and developmentally appropriate ways. • Cooperation Station helps children work on their communication and courteous language skills. • Creation Station presents free-choice art experiences to develop creativity and personal expression. • STEAM Station provides these young students with opportunities to jump into cooperative STEAM projects to promote group problem solving and design thinking. • Construction Zone Play where children will enjoy building theme free play on our grounds. • Wellness Centre promotes daily quiet time through yoga and music.
