The “Why”
All of the Details
The Traverse Post-Secondary Transition Program (The Traverse), developed by Rundle, serves as a dedicated support system for our graduating students during their transition to post-secondary education. While our Rundle graduates are well-prepared for rigorous academic challenges and have had opportunities to hone their strategic skills, the leap to post-secondary education presents distinct challenges in adapting and thriving within this new landscape.
Each student in The Traverse program will have a dedicated Traverse Coach assigned to them, ensuring a consistent and trustworthy partnership during their transition year. Traverse Coaches will engage with post-secondary students on a weekly basis through Zoom conference calls or in-person meetings.
While many post-secondary institutions offer student support services and short transition courses, these resources often lack the tailored, holistic approach necessary to address each student's unique needs. The Traverse coaching model (TCM) offers an exceptional opportunity to seamlessly bridge the gap between high school and post-secondary environments. By providing personalized learning experiences, it empowers students to optimize their pursuit of academic, personal, and wellness goals during this crucial transition phase.
Within the TCM, we offer a well-defined framework that guides students in the identification of their goals, the creation of plans, and the monitoring of their progress. This structured approach empowers our students to cultivate greater self-awareness, independence, and resilience in the face of academic, social, and personal challenges that may arise during their first year of studies.
The TCM also provides students with a competitive advantage over their peers and helps protect their educational investment of time and resources.
This program is distinctive in its approach, offering a highly personalized experience that caters to the unique needs of each student. It aligns with a structured curriculum designed to achieve specific objectives as outlined below.

Enroling our daughter in the Traverse program was a pivotal decision for us. It gave her the competitive edge she needed to excel in her post-secondary school. Thanks to The Traverse, we, as parents, could breathe easier, confident in the knowledge that her academic needs were well taken care of. This allowed us to engage in more authentic and meaningful conversations about her overall educational journey."

What students are saying...
What parents are saying...
The Traverse program had a great effect on my grades, time management, and well-being."
"The Traverse program is the greatest. It will help me with the rest of my university [experience].
I highly recommend The Traverse program as it is a natural extension of the Rundle philosophy and practices. It is a very efficient way to provide support without having to start from scratch and allowed us to hit the ground running." "The students that come through the Academy program are all very intelligent and they all have their own unique learning requirements. The Academy provides this support in a way that the student, their peers, parents, or post-secondary professors could never replicate. If [our son] was completely cut off from your support he would have had significantly different academic results and much lower confidence/self-esteem.
