SNC VADM & Creative Twinning
Enterprise Project
South Nottingham College The School of Visual Arts and Digital Media at South Nottingham College is working collaboratively with their partners Creative Twinning to support and nurture creative individuals and their businesses at every level and stage of their development, both in Nottingham and with our European partners. We aim to celebrate, share and promote the artistic vibrancy and commercial viability of a creative Nottingham, by offering a structured programme to members and learners. Designers from Creative Twinning will be involved with many student groups commencing in September 2012, sharing their commercial expertise, application of sustainable practice and promoting industrial opportunities to our learners; including mentoring individual creativity and fostering cultural exchange of ideas through
links and future visits in Europe. VADM staff have recently visited Karlsruhe, Nottingham's twin City in Germany, to develop educational and commercial links for our current and prospective learners to establish themselves within a global economy, and prepare for learners to visit in 2012/13 and 2013/14. www.snc.ac.uk
Creative Twinning Was set up in 2011 to expand the creative and cultural exchange between the twin cities of Nottingham and Karlsruhe, in Germany. In 2011 three designers showcased their work at 'Eunique' an International Trade Fair for Applied Arts and Design and invited three Karlsruhe designers to Nottingham later that year. Creative Twinning has expanded in 2012 to include a further 7 other East Midlands designers and returned to Karlsruhe and
'Eunique' to exhibit their work. Creative Twinning is building links and promoting the creative, design and environmentally conscious community within Nottingham; marketing this exciting and creative hub with partner cities across Europe. www.creativetwinning.com
Design Factory Is a not-for-profit organisation that internationally supports and champions the thriving craft and design sector in the East Midlands and beyond.
