About Run for God Run for God was started by Mitchell Hollis of Dalton, Georgia when he realized, with the help of a dear friend, that running had become too important to him. It had become an obstructive idol in his life. It all began with a t-shirt that he would wear to use as a witnessing tool for the Lord. But, as He often does, God had much bigger plans for that t-shirt, and it has turned into a nationwide phenomenon having been taught in over 2500 churches to date.
Our Mission Run for God exists to bring the gospel to the world and, more specifically, the running community. To that end, we have placed ads in Runner’s World magazine, with a circulation of 2.8 million runners, designed to share the name of Jesus with the running community at large. We ask the question in Jesus’ own words. Decisions are being made to renew faith or accept Christ on a regular basis because of the WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? campaign.
What does a Run for God crowd look like? Run for God runners are more than two-thirds women and run a broad spectrum of ages. Most, as you would expect, are church-goers. Incomes tend to be a little higher than average in runners and many are type A personalities, ready to make purchasing decisions and/or support those who support causes they like. In short, the perfect market for your business!
How can we help each other? Since Run for God is a non-profit organization being able to cover the cost of
our race services with sponsorship dollars means the participants’ entry fee is tax-deductible as a charitable donation. The cost of holding the races we have planned this year is about $30,000. In addition, anything above that amount goes to support the WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? campaign and to help keep the doors open at Run for God.
We want to continue to receive letters, e-mails and texts from people whose lives have been transformed. Your involvement will help to ensure that we do just that.
