Incredibly, 2025 will mark 37 years since my father founded Running Imp in January 1988, little did he imagine that it would have grown into the market leader in our field that it has today.

We are very proud to be supplying the finisher’s medals to some of the world’s greatest mass participation events including the TCS London Marathon and the AJ Bell Great North Run and can now offer 100% recycled medals and ribbons.

We’ve also invested heavily to help the environment by becoming more ecofriendly at work, and in April last year installed 220 solar panels on our Jubilee House headquarters in Lincoln, see below.

The New Balance Big Relay is held on the same spectacular 13.1-mile course as The Big Half, which weaves from Tower Bridge in central London to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, and is split into four legs of around 5K each. This means participants can soak up the atmosphere of the half marathon event without having to go the full distance! The finishers’ medals were designed so that when all 4 relay segments were connected, the reverse of the medals displayed the events slogan “We Run As One”, see below.

Plastic-Free Packaging

Our standard packaging for bespoke medals and pin badges is plastic free, wrapped in tissue paper with our aim to reduce overall plastic use with our medals master bagged in tissue paper as standard.

We reuse packaging from our supply chain, including shredding cardboard to use as packaging in our warehouse and our packaging is sourced, manufactured, and recycled using renewable energy.

Sustainability

At Running Imp we care passionately about the environment and sustainability, and last year installed 220 solar panels on our Jubilee House headquarters in Lincoln. We are also addressing how we run our operations, supply chain, packaging materials, water, and energy use.

Fully Recycled Medals, Ribbons & Pin Badges

All our medals are made from environmentally friendly metals and we can now offer 100% recycled medals with RPET Ribbons and 100% recycled pin badges.

Our ribbons are made with environmentally friendly non-toxic inks and we offer Recyclable Heat Transfer and Recyclable RPET Yarn Ribbons.

We also offer a recycling scheme for leftover metal medals after your event. They can be returned to us to be recycled with a metal recycling firm, European Metal Recycling Ltd, who we have a strong partnership with. We also offer wooden medals that are made from FSC 100% sustainable wood and samples can be sent upon request.

We’re also conscious of plastics, and are working on removing it from our products and offering alternatives that are made from recyclable material - such as our flag branding material and supplying wooden stakes as well as plastic stakes.

Then send us a rough sketch of your medal design with your guidelines and any logos (if any) that you want incorporating. Alternatively, talk through your design idea with a member of our staff who will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Once you have accepted our quotation, we will then provide you with medal artwork for approval within 3 to 4 working days.

Once you have approved your medal artwork, we will commence production and deliver within your requested timescale.

Delivery Charges

Orders will be sent via courier. Carriage charges are calculated by weight. NI, remote Scotland and UK offshore islands including the Channel Islands and Isle of Man will all incur a surcharge - see website for details.

Overdue Accounts

We reserve the right to charge interest at 8% over the Bank of England base rate on all late payments and recover any expenses incurred in the recovery of any debt.

Breakages and Claims

Claims must be received in writing within 24 hours of receipt of goods Always check the contents of your parcel(s) before signing the delivery note or sign Unchecked. We cannot accept responsibility for goods signed ‘in good condition’ if they are later found to be damaged.

To produce your order, sea freight to the UK, clear customs, transport to our distribution headquarters and then deliver to your door, please allow 12-16 weeks - the most economical service.

We will then submit a Quotation for your approval based upon your speci c requirements.

How Many Colour Stations Should I Have?

For a 5K Colour Run we would suggest a Colour Station at the Start, then at 1K, 2K, 3K, 4K and at the Finish. This though very much depends on your course as it might consist of multiple laps and the Start and Finish may be combined.

What if it gets in my eyes? Is the colour powder edible? Is the colour powder safe?

Our product is Non-Toxic and Non-Irritant to skin and conforms to EN71-3 Standards for a safe and fun event.

Just rinse with water and everything will be ok as our powder is non-toxic but for added eye protection we recommend wearing a pair of our sunglasses.

Yes it is. It is 100% safe to ingest but we advise you to wear it, not eat it!

Personal clean up operation

To get the colour powder out of hair and off skin it is best to do it whilst it is still dry. Shake it off first then just wash as normal and maybe repeat.

Event clean up operation

Rain should wash away the colour powder from either the grass, pavements or roads or you can use a hose or leaf blower.

Each gantry comes with a freestanding blower which will inflate it within seconds. Both petrol and electric blowers are now available; the advantage of a petrol blower is that the gantry can be inflated anywhere, and not restricted to a nearby power point.
