Incredibly, 2025 will mark 37 years since my father founded Running Imp in January 1988, little did he imagine that it would have grown into the market leader in our field that it has today.
We are very proud to be supplying the finisher’s medals to some of the world’s greatest mass participation events including the TCS London Marathon and the AJ Bell Great North Run and can now offer 100% recycled medals and ribbons.
We’ve also invested heavily to help the environment by becoming more ecofriendly at work, and in April last year installed 220 solar panels on our Jubilee House headquarters in Lincoln, see below.
But whether it’s a large city event or a village fun run, no event is too large, but more importantly too small. We’re here to help you, and work with you, and give you the kind of service that we have always prided ourselves upon; Service, Advice, Choice and Value, to help make your event a success and memorable for your entrants.
It has been great to see the resurgence continue of fun runs, road races and mass participation events, along with swim meets, triathlons, school sports days and charity fundraisers making a much-welcomed comeback to their prepandemic days.

The New Balance Big Relay is held on the same spectacular 13.1-mile course as The Big Half, which weaves from Tower Bridge in central London to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, and is split into four legs of around 5K each. This means participants can soak up the atmosphere of the half marathon event without having to go the full distance! The finishers’ medals were designed so that when all 4 relay segments were connected, the reverse of the medals displayed the events slogan “We Run As One”, see below.

Are you considering hosting an event but don’t have the time or resources to manage its requirements?
We’re More Than Just Medals...
We simply sort your supplied data and then mail out your virtual medals (and/or race numbers) directly to your participants. Each medal is packaged into a padded envelope and posted either on their own or with a personalised insert to thank your supporters and sponsors or to promote your chosen charitable cause.
Whether it be a few hundred or tens of thousands we sort all of the data and postage in line with current GDPR regulations so you can rest assured your participants’ information is handled with care. Here, the Panathlon Challenge replaced the existing St. James’s Place ribbon on several of their medals with a Bolton Wanderers FC In the Community ribbon for an event that they were holding in the north
Well, why not take advantage of our Ribbon Re-Assembly Service?
For 2025 we are offering a cost effective way to update your medals in the event of cancellations, postponement or rebranding to save wastage and money. All of our ribbon re-assembly is done inhouse and we can offer both sewn on full colour double sided heat transfer printed ribbons, and clip-on options depending on your budget and style of medal. Medals are our passion and we hate to see them go to waste!
Simply send back any medals you may have, order new ribbons and we’ll look after the rest.
Production Schedule
Please allow 3-4 weeks to produce and to sew onto your medals (subject to quantity).
Assembly Charge
Please add to the cost of your ribbon: 10p per medal to attach clip-on ribbons. 35p per medal to cut and sew on ribbons.

Orders will be sent via courier. Carriage charges are calculated by weight. NI, remote Scotland and UK offshore islands including the Channel Islands and Isle of Man will all incur a surcharge - see website for details.
Overdue Accounts
We reserve the right to charge interest at 8% over the Bank of England base rate on all late payments and recover any expenses incurred in the recovery of any debt.
Claims must be received in writing within 24 hours of receipt of goods Always check the contents of your parcel(s) before signing the delivery note or sign Unchecked. We cannot accept responsibility for goods signed ‘in good condition’ if they are later found to be damaged.
