ith Christmas approaching, we thought it would be a good time to help our customers chose that perfect gift. Inside the following pages, we hope to show you some of the latest watches from the Swiss brands that have caught the attention of watch collectors and wearers this year. Most of the new references were launched back in Geneva or Basel in the first quarter of 2016, where our buying team was out in full force. It seems only yesterday that we trudged through the snow to see what had been conjured up by the magicians of Geneva, La Chaux-deFonds and Schaffhausen. As always in any DMR showroom, you’ll find any number of helpful experts ready to assist you in your choice. Trained on all aspects of horology, they are there to ensure your watch enjoys the very best of attention at all times. With our new Rolex approved watchmakers’ studio about to open in St Ann’s Square in Manchester, we are pleased to announce that Rolex service times are now down to approximately three working weeks. D’AMOUR also brings you an update on the jewellery set to be receiving some very admiring glances this Christmas. Trend-wise, Rose gold remains popular and yellow’s re-emergence is gathering strength. There is unquestionably more demand now from our clients for distinctive suites of jewellery, as well as the classic pieces which can be worn daily. Jewellery in general remains the most versatile and wearable of purchases and our goldsmiths have been busy with numerous remodels, bringing new life to older pieces - and why not! We hope you enjoy this edition and we look forward to welcoming you in store soon.

Modern magic
Christmas is fast approaching, and many of us are about to be faced with that age-old problem: what do you get the person who has everything?
iving experiences is all very well, but there’s something to be said for having a physical present to unwrap. Thankfully Montblanc might just have the answer to all of your gifting worries, in the form of its sought-after Augmented Paper set. This is more than just your average ballpoint and paper set. The writing instrument is a stunning StarWalker ballpoint, complete with a floating Montblanc emblem in a transparent cap-top. This is a writing instrument you’d definitely be proud to have peeking out of your top pocket. But it’s the paper that’s the really magical part. Housed in a discreet yet luxurious leather envelope, the Montblanc Augmented Paper appears on the surface to be a lined paper notebook – however, if you look closer, you’ll see that this is actually a very clever piece of kit. Bringing the art of note-taking into the 21st century, if
you write in the notebook with the specially developed StarWalker ballpoint, you can then use the digitiser securely enclosed in the leather envelope to transmit your notes to your mobile device via Bluetooth. It’s never been easier to add on-the-spot annotations to important presentations. And the best part? You can edit, store and organise your notes on your smartphone or tablet, share them via email and store them on your cloud service – or you can use the Montblanc Hub app to convert them into digital text and edit them with ease. Montblanc dubs the process: “Individual expression augmented by the advantages of digital tools”, proving that the brand is keeping firmly up to date with the advent of interactive digital interactions; understanding the needs of its customers in providing a service which allows them to switch easily between the traditional and the modern ●

lobally celebrated architect and designer Dame Zaha Hadid DBE, collaborated with 112-year-old Danish designer brand, Georg Jensen, on what turned out to be one of Hadid’s last completed projects. The design collaboration triumphantly produced the Lamellae collection; eight distinctive pieces of jewellery inspired by architecture and innovation. Household name and renowned for her pioneering work, Iraqi-born designer Hadid was not only the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004, which is considered the most respected architecture award, she was also the first woman to be awarded the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Gold Medal. Her masterpieces often boast fluid forms, multiple perspective points and ground-breaking design. She once said: “I have always appreciated those who dare to experiment with materials and proportions,” and when it came to the collection with Georg Jensen, that’s exactly what she did. Although the collaboration wasn’t her first, having worked with the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Donna Karen and Pharell Williams, Hadid and Jensen developed a spectacular collection that successfully combined Jensen’s timeless aesthetic design and fine craftsmanship, with Hadid’s love of all things avant-garde. The Lamellae collection consists of five stunning rings and three dazzling cuff bangles, fashioned with sterling silver and incorporating black rhodium and black diamond details. “We often look at the coherence and logic of natural systems when we work to create environments,” Hadid explained. “Our challenge was to translate that into something that can be worn; to reinterpret the rich history and tradition of Georg Jensen’s approach into something new,” she added. The pieces were inspired by the sculptural forms and curves of Hadid’s Wangjing Soho towers in Beijing, which blend three curvilinear asymmetric buildings that appear to circle one another. The buildings change appearance with the light of the day and the angle they are viewed, similarly to the graphic pieces in the collection, which give off both a polished and matte-effect. The Lamellae Twisted Cuff is said to be the signature piece in the collection. ●

Olympians Laura Trott and Jason Kenny celebrate their gold medal achievements with bespoke jewellery
ou might think celebrating a handful of Olympic gold medals and preparing for a top-secret wedding mere weeks later would keep you busy, but Britain’s favourite sporting couple Laura Trott and Jason Kenny had another golden surprise up their sleeves this summer. After winning five Olympic gold medals between them at this year’s Games in Rio de Janeiro, the cycling duo wanted to give a little something back to two women close to their hearts. The couple had more than just medals on their mind when they popped into David M Robinson over the summer to order bespoke matching gifts to thank and celebrate their supportive mothers. The brief was to design two lockets, one for each of their mums. One was to be white with a hint of yellow a nd the other yellow with a hint of white; a perfectly reversed matching pair. A number of different sketches were produced and then Laura chose the one that most suited her initial idea. The end result of two petite, heart-shaped lockets which bear the iconic five-ringed symbol of the Olympic Games, along with the word ‘mum’ subtly entwined in the design, fitted the bill perfectly. “The pieces, required within one month, pushed the team to the limit but the results were beautiful,” commented David M Robinson managing director John Robinson. “These types of projects are always on the go but seldom are our clients multi-Olympic gold medal winners!” ● “The pieces, required within one month, pushed the team to the limit but the results were beautiful,” commented David M Robinson managing director John Robinson. “These types of projects are always on the go but seldom are our clients multi-Olympic gold medal winners!”

tacking rings have proved incredibly popular over the past few years, but for this season there’s a new trend in town which offers the same statement feel – in one twinkling piece. DMR’s ribbon rings – so-called thanks to the ribbon effect of diamonds and interlacing gold strands – are proving incredibly popular, and rightly so. Available in either 18ct yellow or rose gold inset with sparkling diamonds, the ribbon rings are the perfect day-to-night piece. Either dress up your ring with your glad rags for a night on the town or dress it down in casual-wear for a chic and sophisticated look. The ribbon rings are available in two styles as well as colours (one with more diamonds, one with fewer) so you could even splash out on both types; one for day-to-day and one for special occasions. “The new ribbon rings are very on trend at the moment,” says John Robinson, managing director at DMR. “The rich hue of the yellow and rose gold used in the ring lends itself to the design perfectly. These ribbon-type rings can be worn day or night and are very easy to dress up or dress down.”●

he Meander Collection, first launched in 2015, had been several years in the making by the time it hit the shelves at DMR boutiques across the country. Designed by David M Robinson himself, the collection proved extremely popular in its first year and has been updated for 2016 with three new bangles. The new additions include diamond-set bangles in yellow, white and rose gold, to complement the original collection that featured bangles in the same gold options, but instead set with colourful rubies, sapphires and amethysts. “The soft, gentle lines of this collection flow down the bangle and, with diamonds or other precious stones interspersed along the meander, it makes for a stunning design,” explains David M Robinson managing director John Robinson. “The matching rings are proving popular, too.” We’re fast approaching the season of gift-giving, so whether you’re compiling your own wish list or considering how to treat special friends or family members, now’s the perfect time to browse the Meander collection online or in-store. If bangles aren’t your thing, there are also several ring options to add a little sparkle to your digits this winter. ●

l
ayering is the latest trend in the fashion world and involves draping several different pieces of jewellery around your neck in a waterfall effect. It’s an excellent excuse to wear all your favourite pieces at once; pile on the diamonds for a rich and decadent display for a smart event or a mix different shapes and colours for a quirky and pretty look to perk up any casual outfit. The trick is to choose necklaces of different lengths with designs that complement each other. Team up some of the bold yet simple shapes by David M Robinson – try contrasting the smooth curves of the Smile Necklace and Five Stone Drop Necklace with the straight Bar Necklace, gradually layering the sparkle factor for an impressive twinkling finish. Or perhaps you’d rather mix and match your geometry with the Circle Bar Necklace and the petite Triangle Necklace; keeping things simple with classic shapes enhanced with just the right amount of stones to catch the light in a beautifully subtle fashion. Done right, layering will give you a contemporary, modern look that wouldn’t be out of place on the Instagram accounts of the latest fashion trend-setters. Once you’ve mastered the art of layering, you’ll certainly never want to wear just one piece of jewellery again. ●

What advice would you offer someone wishing to propose at Christmas? Get in touch with a proposal planner like us. Finding a gorgeous venue to propose at during the Christmas period can be very stressful, not to mention negotiating the weather – will it snow and ruin the proposal? If you hire a proposal planner then we take all the stress out of your proposal. You don’t have to worry about whether the candles are lit, or if the ring is hidden safely inside the Christmas bauble – that’s our job. So all you have to worry about is saying those four words: will you marry me?
How popular are Christmas proposals? Christmas is certainly one of the most popular times to propose and we find most of our clients come to us with the desire to propose during the Christmas season. And according to new research, Christmas Eve is actually the most popular day of the year to propose.
What proposals have you planned at Christmas time? We have planned some beautiful proposals at Christmas. One involved hiring a secret chalet and decorating it with Christmas themed props such as old fashioned skis and snow boots. We also planned a very magical Christmas proposal, which included the words ‘will you marry me’ spelled out in candles.
What are some reasons for proposing at Christmas? As proposal planners, we don’t feel there is an exact month that is the perfect time to propose. What’s important is to choose a date or season that is special to you and your partner. If, for example, you met at a garden centre while choosing a Christmas tree, then Christmas would then be the good time to propose as it means something to your relationship. If you want to celebrate your engagement with your family, then Christmas is the perfect time to propose as it is the one time of year when families tend to get together. Also, Christmas is the perfect excuse to use candles and fairy lights – the ultimate proposal decoration.
What marriage proposal etiquette must every man or woman follow? 1) A sk her parents’ permission – it might seem old-fashioned but it’s the polite thing to do (it’s also incredibly romantic) 2) Arrange a proposal that she will like – don’t propose in public if she is the shy type and hates being the centre of attention 3) Always propose with a ring – even if it’s not the ring One final piece of advice… Make it personalised. If your girlfriend loves dogs, then try and incorporate a dog in the proposal. If you met at Starbucks, consider having a Starbucks mug with your engagement date on it. It’s the little details that count. ●
If you want to celebrate your engagement with your family, then Christmas is the perfect time to propose as it is the one time of year when families tend to get together
Emerald Cut diamonds
How do I choose a wedding band?
jOHN rOBINSON, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF DMR, EXPLAINS WHAT MAKES THIS RING DESIGN EYE-CATCHING AND OFFERS HIS TIPS FOR SOURCING THE PERFECT STONE
t
he name ‘emerald cut’ comes from the original shape used to cut beryl or traditional green-coloured emeralds. Beryl in particular tends to fracture along right angles, so by cutting an oblong shape and making the angles obtuse, the stones are less likely to fracture. So why do people choose emerald cut rings? Many feel it suits the shape of their finger – and thanks to the influx of high-profile celebrities like Amal Clooney with emerald cut engagement rings, the design is becoming more and more popular. We’re also starting to see a lot of customers choosing to set their emerald cut diamond horizontally across the finger. That said, despite the constantly shifting trends for different-shaped diamonds, the demand for traditional emerald cuts has always been there. I chose an emerald cut ring for my wife, so I’m slightly biased! When it comes to manufacturing, what shape a rough diamond will end up as is decided by sophisticated

ove Actually taught us that the most celebrated holiday, is perhaps also one of the romantic times of year. Tiffany Wright founder of The One Romance was desperate for her now-husband to propose, and thought: “What better way to give a hint than set up a proposal planning company.” Wright said her sneaky little plan worked, and she was engaged just two months later. Who better to turn to for proposal advice, than the woman that makes a business out of proposing?
equipment which analyses the size and shape of the stone and works out the optimum shape to release through polishing. If the rough can give up an elongated shape, the cutter will usually choose an emerald cut. My top tips for buying an emerald cut diamond are to look for symmetry, polish, colour and clarity. It’s important to remember that although a stone can appear to have a good colour and clarity, if it hasn’t been polished well to the right proportions, it won’t sparkle as much as it should. With this type of cut, there’s always the risk that the stone will draw in light but not reflect it back, due to the fact that there’s more volume to the diamond below the rim of the stone. Buying your ring certified by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or HRD in Antwerp is a great way to assure your stone is of the finest quality. Finally, I recommend always buying your diamonds from a company like David M Robinson, which subscribes to The Kimberley Process, so you know your stones have been sourced ethically. ●

Showroom assistant manager Hannah Williams says: “When you come into the showroom, it’s important to be wearing your engagement ring, as this will play a vital part in the process. They are going to be worn together, so they have to complement each other. Consider the profile of your existing ring; does it have a rounded edge or square? Would you like something a little wider or very slim? Do you want cut stones, claw, channel set or diamonds all the way around the ring for extra sparkle? If we don’t have a ring style that works or you have an unusual shape setting, we also offer a bespoke design service.”

i
n this day and age, it’s not quite enough for a watch to simply tell the time. And while jumping into the world of smart watches was initially perceived as being rather risky, today it seems there’s little hesitation from the world’s most admired watch brands. The latest to take the plunge is the Swiss manufacturer, TAG Heuer. The highly anticipated TAG Heuer Connected watch was unveiled during the Baselworld watch and jewellery show earlier this year, and has since been received with applause from the public. Combining more than 150 years of Swiss expertise, and the Silicon Valley technologies Intel Inside and Android Wear, this is a seriously smart piece of kit. TAG Heuer teamed up with Google and Intel, and the result of this collaborative effort is a truly impressive timepiece that strikes the perfect balance between luxury watch and computing intelligence. So aside from telling the time, the TAG Heuer Connected watch enables a multitude of connectivity options including audio streaming, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and allows its users to harness a full range of features offered by the Android Wear operating system. Thousands of Android operations are already available, including: Google Fit, Google Translate, Google Maps and Google Search. The watch can also be synced with any phones running on either Android 4.3+ or iOS 8.2+. ●

David M Robinson teamed up with IWC Schaffhausen and hosted two watchmaking masterclasses with IWC’s master watchmaker Robert Trueman. The two classes, which took place at the King Street Townhouse Hotel in Manchester, presented a selected group of VIP guests with an introduction into the world of watchmaking as well as an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into how renowned brand IWC achieve and maintains the highest standards of craftsmanship. They also granted access to view the brand new IWC Pilot’s collection and some extra exclusive haute horologerie pieces. Guided through by Trueman, guests were first given the opportunity to disassemble a basic IWC pocket watch movement and then had the tricky task of putting it all back together again, allowing them to discover just how complex watch movements are and how they work. n 1982, Omega unveiled the Constellation Manhattan, but it wasn’t until 2009 that the Swiss watch manufacturer launched the Constellation line, which has since set the benchmark in watchmaking precision. This year, the brand continues the legacy, with new Constellations inspired by their ancestors. Perhaps one of the standout aspects of the newest editions is a small seconds feature at nine o’clock, as well as Master Chronometer status, putting the Constellation among the first ladies’ timepieces to achieve this new standard of certification. What does this mean? It means that the Constellation has passed eight intensive tests outlined by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), so you can rest assured that its accuracy and performance is second to none. While the Omega has evidently retained many of the popular characteristics attributed to modern Constellation models, the introduction of a stainless steel and 18K red gold combination delivers a warm aesthetic style, while the white pearled mother-of-pearl dial has a simple yet elegant effect. For those looking for something truly spectacular in the new line of Constellations, there’s the addition of a diamond-paved bezel and sapphire crystal caseback that showcases the new Master Chronometer calibre 8704. Once again we’re inspired by the craftsmanship that has gone into this truly elegant timepiece. ● For those looking for something truly spectacular in the new line of Constellations, there’s the addition of a diamond-paved bezel and sapphire crystal caseback

ver the past 60 years, the Tudor divers’ watch has gained unanimous acclaim from professionals in the field, including some of the greatest military navies in the world. In celebration of such relationships, Tudor has unveiled the Heritage Black Bay Bronze, a 43mm divers’ watch and an aesthetic reference to the use of bronze in historic ships and other diving equipment. In 2015 Tudor announced the first mechanical movement in its history to have been developed, manufactured and assembled in-house. The Heritage Black Bay Bronze has been fitted with a variant of this Tudor manufactured movement, which has been developed specifically for the new model. The MT5601 movement boasts a power reserve of up to 70 hours, meaning you’ll be able to take the watch off on Friday night, and put it on again on Monday morning without having to wind it.
Featuring a matt brown unidirectional bezel that frames a brown dial with large white snowflake indicators, the Heritage Black Bay Bronze is presented on an aged brown leather strap with a bronze buckle, but also comes with an additional fabric strap. Since 2010, some of the most important references in the history of Tudor have been reworked within the Heritage line. Not simply a re-release of a classic, the Heritage line brings together the past, present and future, and on this occasion, offers a spectacular reading of the history of the Tudor divers’ watch. ●

Giving the gift of time
Technical talk
If you were looking at buying a sleek timepiece to gift your partner this christmas, then look no further. we’ve put the key points you need to consider before heading to the shops
m
en have a secret language,” says Sandy Madhvani, showroom manager at Canary Wharf’s David M Robinson. “And that’s watches.” It’s safe to say, buying your partner a watch at Christmas has always proven to be popular. After all, what better gift is there, than the gift of time? When it comes down to it though, you shouldn’t be alarmed; the endless options and complex technical terms can often be overwhelming. The first step to buying the right timepiece is pretty simple; research. “The gift-giver should do as much ground work as they can before coming into the store,” says Madhvani. “Have a look at a few magazines or look on the internet. Get an idea of his style and ask yourself a few questions: Does he dress casually or does he wear a suit? On what occasions will he be wearing the watch?” Madhvani’s colleague and DMR’s senior sales and watch specialist Keith Parrett adds that doing a little detective work will go a long way when it comes to choosing what’s right for your guy. The second thing to come prepared with is a budget, we’re told. “You have got to have a preconceived budget in mind, a rough idea of what you’re comfortable with and then we can advise you on how to make the most of your money,” Madhvani explains. Once your mind is made up, it will be a lot easier to narrow down the options
Automatic A mechanical watch that is wound by the motion of the wearer’s wrist, rather than by twisting the crown
Chronometer A watch that has been independently tested by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute
Complication An additional function of a watch that goes beyond telling the time, like a stopwatch, calendar or a moonphase indicator
Movement The inner-working mechanism of a watch that can be either mechanical or quartz. Most watch manufacturers refer to their movements as calibers
Quartz A quartz watch is a battery-powered watch. Quartz watches are considerably more accurate, more reliable and cheaper than their mechanical counterparts. ●
Drive de cartier
t
he brand new Drive de Cartier watch is almost immediately distinguishable as a Cartier watch with its smart, beautifullydesigned roman numerals, patterned guilloche dial and blue sapphire winding crown, it exudes elegance and grandeur. Distinct details and elements, including a textured-satin finish and domed crystal, allow this timepiece to stand out from the crowd, especially so when it was unveiled for the first time at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva this year. Powered by three calibres, all produced at the Cartier Manufacture, the Drive de Cartier was inspired by and made for the kind of man who possesses independence, instinct and sophistication. The transparent case-back reveals the manufacture movement 1904 MC and the watch is available in both pink gold or steel. ●
Panerai Launches Limited Edition RADIOMIR 1940 Watch This year, Panerai has released four new Limited Edition RADIOMIR 1940 watches featuring the GMT complication that will excite any watch enthusiasts this Christmas
watches
Unveiled this year at Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, the Drive de Cartier collection makes a stunning addition to the Cartier watch family
and ensure you’re relaxed when browsing. When it comes to the style, considering the occasion the watch will be worn is particularly important; if you’re buying your loved one a watch he will wear every day at work, it could vary dramatically in style to one he would wear on the weekends. The band on the watch will also play a part. While a metal bracelet looks great on chunky, masculine watches, leather straps are more appropriate for conventional, dressy timepieces. “A classic watch can be passed down through generations. It’s timeless,” DMR sales advisor Cerian recommends. Deciding on whether you are team quartz or team automatic is a big one too. While an automatic is often chosen by true watch enthusiasts, who only accept manually-wound mechanical movements as a way to power a watch, others prefer the accuracy and strength of a quartz. However, you’re not expected to come in and know it all. The helpful experts in the DMR team are on hand to help: “use the knowledge and the experience of the sales team. In these situations, you need to use all the tools at your disposal and we are part of that tool kit,” says Parrett. “It’s about forming a partnership. If the client comes in with as much information about the person as possible, we can help to find the perfect watch. We want to get it right and it’s important for us to know that the client has walked away with all their boxes ticked,” Madhvani adds. ●

Mark Cavendish rises above Mark cavendish has exceeded expectations this year, having hosted a second successful rise above sportive event, sponsored by dmr, in a challenging ride across cheshire, chester and north wales
m
Right to Play and Help for Heroes charities for a number of years and was delighted to have them both on board as the two official charity partners for the Rise Above Sportive event for a second year. There to cheer the riders on, Cavendish handed out well-deserved medals to the riders that took part at the end. Following the success of its second Rise Above Sportive event, both of which were sponsored by David M Robinson, plans are already being put in place for the 2017 event. Cavendish commented: “It was incredible to have so many riders turn out again this year. All three routes were really challenging and tested the riders mentally and physically through North Wales. It was great to start and finish in Chester again, with so many of the local public turning out to support the event, which was amazing to see. I believe the event has come a long way since year one and with my team I’ll be looking to making Rise Above bigger and better in 2017 and hope to see you there.” ●
ark Cavendish MBE Tour de France stage winner and 2011 World Road Race Champion, successfully hosted the second edition of the Rise Above Sportive event on 28 August this year. Riders turned up in their thousands to take part in a journey across Cheshire, Chester and North Wales, through scenic forestry roads, breathtaking views with iconic Welsh landscapes and full of challenging climbs with the road reaching a maximum height of 417 metres. Riders had the choice of three routes – the Enthusiast 80km, Purist 120km and Extremist 160km. The father-of-two, who recently won the silver at this year’s Rio Olympics in the men’s Omnium, rode the 120-kilometre Purist route and saw Chester’s historic city centre taken over by the colourful spectacle of 2,500 riders setting off on one of the sportive routes. ROLEX Basel 2016 Exhibition Collection
Baselworld 2016 saw many stunning new timepieces making their debut, and Rolex was one brand that launched a dazzling new collection during the fair. DMR arranged two events, in Liverpool’s Walker Art Gallery and Manchester’s King Street Townhouse, to showcase the collection as well as granting the only chance for many guests to see the highly coveted new Daytona. While the event in Liverpool hosted guests with a spectacular champagne reception taking over the first floor gallery space, the event in Manchester was set as a summer barbecue to display the impressive watches.

PATEK philippe exhibition week
In the space of a week, DMR set about holding three events to display the new Patek Philippe Exhibition Collection and managed to pull it off with more than 300 guests attending over the three events. The 12 Hay Hill Members Club offered a champagne reception for guests viewing the pieces, while DMR’s Canary Wharf showroom showcased the exhibition collection and the recently refurbished Patek Philippe showroom alongside some bubbly. The Boisdale Watch Club was the largest of the three; the extensive collection shown comprised over 100 of Patek Philippe’s timepieces both new and existing, with many special models, like the highly sought-after Nautilus range, out on display. ● “Three events in three nights in three different locations was a tall order but the level of interest in the Basel Collection from Patek Philippe was unprecedented. It was a long but hugely successful week for us and it has really set the bar high so we are already thinking about next year.” John Robinson, DMR’s Managing Director

After Sales Manager
After Sales Ambassador
Which products are most commonly brought in to the After Sales team? It’s usually an even mix in all our showrooms, with 50% jewellery, and 50% watches. We offer a free jewellery cleaning service which is very popular with our clients.
What do you enjoy about working with the after sales team? It’s the opportunity to go the extra mile and demonstrate our investment in looking after our customers. After Sales has grown as a department over the last few years, and developing a relationship with our customers is a huge part of that. Being largely office based, I do not always have the opportunity to meet our customers, however, it is very rewarding when I do.
Nicky Owens
What are the benefits of servicing your watch? Servicing is essential for prolonging the accurate timekeeping and lifespan of the watch. It’s important to ensure you have your watch serviced by an approved and accredited workshop. We are extremely lucky at DMR to have two Rolex-accredited watchmakers in Liverpool and Manchester, and we are just about to undergo an extensive refurbishment of our Rolex-accredited workshop and goldsmith workshop in Manchester. How regularly should a timepiece be serviced? That depends on the watch brand, but we usually recommend the first service to be from five years onwards and then every five years after that.
Julie Speechly
Are there any After Sales stories that stand out to you? I have met many lovely and interesting people over the past two years, but perhaps the most memorable are Jennifer and Edward Johnson. Jennifer had unfortunately lost her sapphire and diamond engagement ring, purchased in 1971 for £40 from David M Robinson. When they called in to the showroom to replace it, they sat with both our goldsmith, Rupert, and Mr Robinson, who fortuitously was in the showroom that day and was delighted to spend time with the couple, recreating the design of the ring. ●
