Editor’s brief

This edition devoted to Theatres des Vampires. We have a good news: starting with this issue, we will publish our issues one in three months. Maybe, in three months there will be not so much information about Theatres des Vampires, but we decided that we would not wait news from vampires, we want to expand our activity. There will be old sections again, where you will be able to read interviews from the past, to see old photos of participants of the band, perhaps, we will find more interesting facts about band’s life. This time we present to you one of the very first TDV’s interviews. We decided to devote the main part of this issue to the Latin American tour Theatres des Vampires, which was in October, 2017. Unfortunately, we have not so much information, as it would be desirable. But, anyway, it would be wrong from our party to pass by this significant event. Therefore, all that we managed to find we have generalized and have made the small report about last tour. At the beginning of 2018, a very interesting band from Moscow released a metal-opera. This creation is called Theatre des Vampires and is based on the work by Ann Rice «Interview with the vampire». In cooperation with the band, we publish a big article and tell you how everything began and what all this has led to. The cover of issue is decorated by a photo of Theatre des Vampires of that metal-opera. We continue to acquaint you with movies about vampires. In this number there will be many interesting material about vamp cinema. I remind that we have a section «Question-answer». Here any the person can ask the question to members of Theatres des Vampires and they will answer. The group with pleasure will answer all of your questions. In October 2017 Theatres Des Vampires performed in countries of Latin America. It was a significant event both for the band, and for a numerous army of fans of the Italian vampires. Unfortunately, the activity of the Latin American fans leaves much to be desired. Initially we had plans to make an issue, similar to the Russian tour but to our great disappointment we didn’t make it. Nevertheless, we managed to get something after all. So, we present you the report from the latest tour...

04.10.17 Medellin, Colombia. Hard rock cafe.

October 4, 2017 – it was the date of the opening of the Latin American tour of TDV. It took place in Colombia, in the city of Medellin, in the Hard Rock Cafe. The organizer was kaos corporation. The ticket cost 70000 peso (23.5 USD). The concert took place during the two-day Colombian festival named «Covent Fest». The local Psy project band (industrial metal) acted as a support band. The beginning of the festival – 20:00. The Vampires performed in Colombia in 2013 and fans waited for this show for more than four years. The second coming happened. The concert went well, a start of the tour was made and the next place waiting for the Italians was the capital of Colombia Bogota.

PSY PROJECT

PSY PROJECT Members: Neo KF - vocal Insanin - drums Diotima Ex - keyboards Will - guitar  Their genesis consisted in combining elements of the European gothic/ electro scene with metal, using guitar riffs charged with adrenaline. The band was mainly focused on industrial-electro genre, computerized effects and sounds prevailed in their sound. Also the work on visual representation was conducted. At the first stage the project based the lyrics and philosophy on the wordly ideas and canons, anticlerical and resisting to the authority. At the same time the band became an interest object for a local musical and youth scene, and the drummer who would support live rhythms was necessary for them. There was the opportunity to perform with the presentations in the different cities, such as Medellin

and Bogota. Having achieved a certain recognition on social networks which became the main means of marketing for the band, they got the opportunity o f

v i s i t i n g different cities in Mexico which, unfortunately, they didn't manage to realize. The band seeks to visualize their maturity, realizing the influence

which music can generate in society, supporting their ideas and concepts with the projected images, showing the ideological position and reality which we live in before the society, opposing media manipulation, mediocrity of the educational system supporting mass media and, first of all, the unreasonable idea that ÂŤreality is outside us, and we can do nothing about itÂť.

05.10.17 Bogota, Coven fest. OZZY BAR ROCK

On October 5, 2017 the Latin American tour of TDV continued. Bogota welcomed long-awaited guests from Italy. The festival took place in Ozzy bar Rock. The organizer – kaos corporation. When the tickets’ sale began, a special offer was made: the first 100 tickets cost 85000 pesos (28.5 USD). Then the price was increased to 95000 and the day of the concert the price of tickets at the cash desk was 105000 pesos (35 USD). The concert took place during the two-day Colombian festival named «Covent Fest». The beginning of the festival – 21:00. Psyborg Corp from Bogota acted as a support band (Industrial + Synthwave + Harsh Electro + Cyberpunk). Then there was a freak show which entertained the crowd while the Vampires were preparing for the stage. And, as a result, fans could hear favourite songs which were many – 17 best hits. Colombian Psyborg Corp band was founded in 2008 and proves perfectly that the best Electro/ Industrial and Harsh EBM are not necessarily only in Europe and in the USA. A gorgeous fantastic image and lyrics together with powerful bits and the memorable melody make Psyborg Corp one of the most perspective bands of Electro/Industrial scene. The band has 2 albums and one EP. This moment the third album is being prepared for a release. They have awards: The best Latin American band according to Orion Records Awards, 2011. The best album of the year according to Subterranica Awards 2015. The best album cover (Subterranica Awards 2015). The best female vocal in various genres (Gia, Subterranica Awards 2015). The best DJ/programmer in the musical industry of new technologies (Gia, Subterranica Awards 2015). .

When October comes, we can feel dark energy around us, it's not a question of infantile imagination, there are things which become a reality. I have arrived to Coven Fest, preparing to see soundcheck of Theatres des Vampires after which we made our interview. When we see Sonya Scarlet, we can see many things in her, not only a rough and bloody part. Myths which we heard about her in the past have been dispelled, this is the person of huge sensuality which embraces all her internal being. As she has told us, her most part is this girl who appears on a stage, but, at the same time, there are many other persons in Sonya who force her to be so unique on the stage among other female vocals. Also we had an opportunity to interview Psyborg Corp - Colombian industrial band which has acted as a support band of Theatres des Vampires. So, Coven Fest has begun

very punctually. At 21:00 Psyborg Corp came first to fill us with energy which, apparently, literally comes from other planet. These sounds of fantasy, video games, movies made us dance for a while. It was the first time when I saw this band live and my expectations were met because they didn’t fail. We could see many people dancing and singing robotic songs though, however, I was also among them. Their mix of bits, spatial electronic sounds, and a powerful voice of the vocalist have warmed crowd to condition, so we were ready to the appearance of Theatres des Vampires. I recommend this band to all who is keen on industrial music. Besides, the band is supplemented by the beauty of Gia accompanied with these ingenious sounds. Between performances participants haven't missed the opportunity to communicate and drink a little beer. I have met many

people, fans of female metal and also many fans of TDV who were willing to die to get into the meet and greet later and to see the charming Sonya offstage. One of productions on the stage which intrigued us was a freakshow which had to accompany this dark night. The cult of art, a body and madness is alive thanks to this group of people who with their staging «Exorcism» have pleased us with more than one performance, stubbing cigarettes on their chests, dancing in fiery hoops, with sensual scenes between nuns and demons. Undoubtedly, I’ve never seen such a thing at concert’s opening, and I’ve been fascinated by their show as it seldom can be found in metal performances where basically bands of a genre always appear. Even the members of Theatres des Vampires were paralized after they became witnesses of their tremendous show. The time has come, and

I had great expectations to see Sonya live as her performance is something special. The introduction began to sound, Gabriele’s plates tapped in rhythm to it, the faces of the musicians were covered with masks. It was the beginning of the performance of the vampires… from a distance, coming out from the backstage, huge horns appear, in the middle of smoke, she goes slowly, takes a sip from the cup with blood, and among shouts the vampire Scarlet begins to sing Kain. Her suit was bewitching, the dress was full of darkness and force, beautiful as she. But it was only the beginning. We had a setlist where songs from the latest album prevailed. The attitude of Sonya towards the audience was one of the most remarkable things of their performance, affinity and sensuality which overflow when she’s on the stage – it’s the most amazing thing. Kisses, caress and a lot of blood were the things that fans received being

So, the performance of Theatres des Vampires has come to an end, but it has been announced to us that in the near future they would return to Latin America with the second part of the tour Candyland. The evening was continued with the music of dj neuromanzer and his bits. Theatres des Vampires were given the opportunity to meet fans in meet and greet where they could sign autographs and be photographed with fans, and there was even a place for embraces and kisses with Sonya. This event was organized very well, it was full of good energy and though attendance was not so massive, all of us made Coven Fest unforgettable. We hope that you repeat such night which left us with the best metal smack of blood on our lips. All this became possible thanks to wonderful Theatres des Vampires. I thank Kaos corporación, sinsanity entertainment, void design and 3+1r for all what they’ve done so all that became possible and also Ozzy bar rock for the fact that they have provided the platform for the festival. It's one of the best places in Bogota for events of this kind and they have a good beer. As for the freakshow team, I hope to find them again and to see their amazing performance. We will meet at an upcoming event with the best female vocal.

She changed clothes during the concert and each of her dresses was magnificent. Sonya moved the microphone to fans in order that all sang her songs, and we felt that it was very pleasant to her to be here in Colombia because she performed the best hits of the band being wrapped in our flag. We waited for many brilliant songs, such as, Sangue, Medousa, Carmilla, La Danse Macabre du Vampire, and there wasn't a single person in ozzy bar rock who didn't dance and didn’t sing at least one of the Vampires’ songs. Exclusive. Interview with Sonya (05.10.2017) Camila Tozzi Hello I'm Camila Tozzi from Dark Metal Divas, it's a pleasure to do this interview with you, thank you for allowing us this time here at the coven fest. Let's start. - If you had the opportunity to do an analysis of the first years and the last ones, do you think that the band has evolved positively with these sound changes and how do they feel about that? Sonya: They are different paths, it has been a path of more than 20 years in which there have been different evolutions, TDV was born in the year 94 as a symphonic black metal band, which develops in the course of these years with different sounds and with different ways of composing. We have never wanted to repeat the same thing, what has generated an evolution, it has been a natural path, which led us to separate ourselves from members of the past and move forward with a new line up, a new line means having new ideas, new energy and others stimuli, as for example: since 2004 to have me, as the only singer in the

band and continue this way until 2016 with the release of Candyland, which sure has a different sound, but always maintaining our characteristics, our sound that can be distinguish since the 90s. Then it is an evolution, we are always us,

we have changed over time, but we are still the same. Candyland brings us more energetic sounds but some pretty dark lyrics as is very characteristic of the band. We know that this album was inspired

by Pennhurst's t e r r i f y i n g asylum. What was the research preparation on this place to write? How was your inspiration or how did you come to talk about this particular topic? Соня: With Candyland we started from a different point of view with respect to the previous record, because we started from the letters, from the basic idea, to delve into the theme of the asylum. On a subject that interests me particularly, the world of occultism, the world that is invisible, but is connected to the human mind, that which can be hidden behind our fears. I came to study various phenomena that led me to find these stories that came from Pennhurts asylum in Pennsylvania. That has been a very particular place, a place where many people suffered, many people disappeared, where all these people who had an IQ different than average or who had some kind of problem were hospitalized. It was like a prison. There was a room in this madhouse called Candyland, with chains, red walls and very

lively paintings, where the children were hospitalized as patients, always with a very low IQ, it was a room with no exit. The stories are many, the documentaries are disturbing and it is from this that the idea is born, that it is not a conceptual album, because it touches different themes, but that in some points it focuses on these themes, there are songs like Parasomnia for example, Delusion Denial , Candyland, who talk about mental illnesses, syndromes and people with different types of problems, Candyland is an investigation, more than an investigation is the intention to exploit different fears that are hidden inside us. Then it is like a trip inside our fears, they can be more or less big, different, but they are our fears. For that reason, it is us. The female role in this genre is undervalued. Being a woman in charge of a band like TDV and in so many years of musical career what is your balance between years ago in terms of female participation in extreme music, and now that it is emerging more and more with great force, which Is your perspective and how is your internal relationship with the band? Sonya: Well, in my opinion about the role of women in the Gothic Metal genre: I think there is no difference between men and women, the important thing is personality. You must have a personality, energy and believe in what you do, make sacrifices to carry out a project. Although in the end the sacrifices do not exist, it is to give everything every time. There are female singers who have a very strong personality and I love

them and I love them very much and men who have a great personality, and who are on stage in an incredible way, like people who do not know how to do it. So the concept of man or woman does not exist, for me there is only the personality, the idea and what you want to communicate and if what you want to communicate is something valid, strong, something that you like and that reflects your soul, then you can be man or woman, it does not matter, I like what you are, that's why for me, man and woman do not exist. * About the departure of Giorgio and the Integration of Flavio: Sonya: Giorgio was our guitarist, until recently, he has separated from us before this summer, for different reasons, it is not necessary to comment, we simply take different paths. And on our way we meet Flavio who has become the current TDV guitarist. So they can ask him what they need, for now we are very happy, he has become part of the family, our right arm at this moment and that is a great responsibility.Flavio: I met the guys thanks to the participation in other bands, let's say that in the Roman environment everyone knows each other a little. Directly with Sonya I did not have much contact, I met Zimone for a while, my friends in common, and then when they were looking for a new guitarist, my name came out, a test was done and we liked the result mutually, and I must say that being accepted into a band that takes so long, and living with them their daily life, and seeing that they are very kind, I have felt more and more integrated

into the band and that's why my participation has been greatly strengthened. The other day I told Sonya that I was very happy that they had called me for this tour, and today I am even happier because more than a great band, they are a family, so this experience is very nice. About our energy, which will allow us to do a great work of composition, in which I hope to be an active part, because I have always written music for my other bands, which I still have, so we will try to do things together in the future. - We told the fans to define Sonya Scarlett in a few words: Sensual, outlandish, Passionate, sexy, Elegant, Sensitive to the world, a true vampire. They are some of the things that they told us. Now, when you are on stage, that bloody and rough girl that we see singing, is it a real reflection of who you are? We believe that falling into a label is not something that Sonya would do, but when you are on stage as you feel with yourself? Sonya: Well, asking a woman how she is is very difficult because a woman can be 100 different people at a time, nor can I answer that. I am all that, say, everything they told me I am, I'm sure I'm a sensitive person, attentive to many things, a very passionate person. The person that you later see on the stage in a large part of me, I have my moments of light and darkness, like everyone else and on the stage my strongest, most aggressive part is seen, it is a part of me and inside of me live all these people who are different but who are part of me, I am all that.


Speaking a little about the conception of vampirism. This way of life and ideology has been distorted over time. Mainly for the current films where they show this more like a fairy tale with glitter, than as a true cult of blood. Sonya, how do you live this ideology in your daily life? For you, what is the true essence of vampirism? Sonya: Well, let's start by forgetting all the teen movies about vampires, because, like all the things that become very commercial, the atmosphere is lost, the real meaning of so many things is lost, it becomes just an empty story, it becomes something as an aesthetic towards the film itself, but it is not this. Vampirism is very exciting, it is a concept that was born many centuries ago, it is a very old concept that was modernized by William Polidori when he wrote The Vampire, where the figure of the vampire is no longer that of an animal without a soul, without a particular charm and it becomes something like a knight, it becomes this fascinating, sensual, lethal creature and we begin to feel attracted to this figure that now represents immortality and the figure of the vampire, vampirism is the search for immortality, through the life itself, of the blood, then «Sanguis Vita Est» and this is the basis of our philosophy of life, of our search. -Tell us What do you like most about coming to Latin America and Colombia?

What is it that catches you the most attention not only from the country but from your fans? Sonya: : Look, it took us a good couple of years to go on a tour to South America, because it is not easy to organize a tour here, there are many problems but we said we would return and well we are back, we have

worked a lot to do it but always we have believed in you, in the countries of South America, in your energy that is wonderful, it is almost a drug for us and we could not give this up, because they are always present, because they write to me continuously, to all of us, they make us feel how much they love our music. For us to come is to receive a gift, we come because we want to feel close to all these people that make our music feel that beloved and it is not something we take for granted, if I do something, if

I write a song, we do not give of course you will like it, then having so many people ... Our biggest fans come from South America, who love our music and for us that is wonderful, to feel the energy and see so many people who write to us is very beautiful. We love Colombia, it personally drives me crazy, whether it is Medellín, which has been beautiful, that is, in Bogotá, I feel at home, it is very nice and we would like to stay longer, unfortunately we are always alone one night and it is very little . We would like to be at least a week, to see everything and hope that the third time we come, hopefully we can have a couple of days to fully experience Colombia, because they have been magnificent. Sonya: We will have a show that mixes old songs with some new themes of Candyland, we will give it all of us, because we do not see the time to leave, because anyway a tour is a moment of effort ... I am sick, do not sleep, We do not eat well, they are strange schedules, it is not easy, but we are very happy to be here, we will surely give everything of us to be able to give a show that all of you like. The expectations of seeing Sonya and her band were very high, since their performance is always unique, sensual, vampiric, bloody. At the exit of the backstage, giant horns appear, which go over the head of the goddess, who wore a beautiful outfit, beautiful as her; begins his show, after taking a sip of his blood cup, the same blood cup that songs would later pour on her body and that in a very sensual way, with his hands, in the form of caresses would decorate the face of the fans that

they appeared in the first row of the venue. The concert hall without separation barriers for safety or transit of photographers gives the opportunity to make you feel part of the band, and you feel so close, it seems for a moment that you are on the stage together to the band. Sometimes it seemed that Sonya wanted to be together with her fans under the stage, wanted to hug them, kiss them and share the blood she spilled on her body. Sonya wore three beautiful

dresses, that little or much left to the imagination, in addition to sharing her microphone with the attendees who shouted every song of the set list that TdV gave us. Sonya gives to understand that she feels pleased with her Colombian fans, for two themes she wore the flag of the country, embracing her skin, song after song suggests that she does not want the show to end. Her farewell in the networks (facebook) tonight was: Good bloody night children of Hell! It will be a show that


every time I have the opportunity to see, I will repeat, and these pictures that I took, this work that I do to the band is a sign of gratitude for the delivery and for their long journey to visit their Latin American fans. I just want that when they look at one of my photos, remember how much we love them and how we want them to come back more often. Fortunately, I feel when I see Sonya's personal profile with my photo, it looks proud, as it is described in the comments, she love it, I hope that when she change that photo, it will be another one of my photos, of another event. The Italian band, Theatres Des Vampires, was present

in Bogota on October 5, 2017, at CovenFest, an event organized within the framework of the TdV South American tour (which included six dates, Medellin and Bogota (Colombia), Quito (Ecuador), La Paz (Bolivia), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay)). This concert became the second concert of the band in Bogota; it was more than four years since that first presentation in (7), Anima noir (4), Moonlight waltz (4), Nightbreed of macabria (1) and Pleasure and pain (1) The venue chosen by the organizers for this event was Ozzy Bar and the opening of the event was by Psyborg Corp., who with Industrial Cyberpunk sounds transported the fans to a party in the ElectroDark style. Colombia, on March 3, 2013 (this time presenting their LP MoonlightWaltz at GothicFest). The Italians, who were in the promotion of their last recording, Candyland pressed with ScarletRecords, showed their fans in detail this work and some of their biggest hits, in the end, the set list of the event counted on 17 tracks, extracted from five of TdV works like this: Candyland

06.10.17 Quito, Ecuador. La Industria Club

After Colombia the Vampires went to Ecuador, to the heart of the country – the city of Quito. The performance took place in La Industria club on October 6. There were local support bands Procesion and Bleeding Corp. The show began at 19:00. The interesting fact is that ecuadorian organizers decided to divide tickets into men's and women's and tickets for women were cheaper. Quito Ecuador expected the arrival of TDV on October 6, 2017, the climate of the city accompanied with its cold atmosphere to give a dark but warm welcome to the Italian vampires.

The night was ending, the band was showing all their professionalism and essence on stage, Sonya pronounced words in Spanish thanking the host: «Thank you very much Quito» and placed the flag of Ecuador on the shoulders. The evening became romantic with the wonderful theme «Moonlightwaltz», which captivated the audience and envelops the atmosphere poetically; «Carmilla» one of the most anticipated songs at night is choreographed with strength and emotion. To end this incredible presentation, began to emerge the sounds of «La Danse Macabre du Vampire» with which the ecstatic audience turns the concert into a total party of vampires. Finally it was time to leave and Theaters des Vampires went to their dressing room, the fans waited to get close to the band and get their autographs, bit it was difficult due to the limited time of their presence. Soon after the first concerts, music evolved into a deeper style creating texts according to external reality, rejecting any type of influence with intention to create other sound. The band has three selfreleased demos. The first demo named Lago de Dolor was released in 1998. The second TRISTEZA TORNASOL appeared in 2000. And the third one – in 2009. Review and photos by Carlos Lescano A big stir in a small Gothic community of Ecuador was caused by the news about a visit of the queen of the damned and her Theatres des Vampires during their South America tour. Eventually this day has come: there was no limit to emotions and excitement because there was the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of the band which we hoped to see at the show for so long and to hear hit songs. Hour X has come and, forcing the way through in the middle of the public, Sonya Scarlet went up to the stage accompanied by wild excitem e n t of the fans. The amazing presentation has begun, the V a m p i r e s showed the m u s i c ’ s q u a l i t y and scenic representation of such subjects as: Sangue, Angel of Lust, M o o n l i g h t W a l t z , Carmilla, La Danse Macabre. Though the sound at the beginning of the show was not so good, it didn’t prevent the band. Sonya showed passion and sensuality in each subject while she

hid behind the national flag of our country and made public go crazy from the performance. Undoubtedly, we will never forget this night. Though there was no opportunity to meet the band after the

performance, we were happy and grateful for this visit. We hope to see them here again one day.

On October 8, 2017 Theatres des Vampires pleased the most devoted fans in Buenos Aires, Argentina once again. This meeting was awaited by both parties - fans and the Vampires. Martin organized everything long and scrupulously, he put much effort and money so that the dream of fans from Argentina was fulfilled. And so this day has come. Theatres des Vampires arrived in Buenos Aires during their Latin American tour. The concert took place in Museo Rock club. The beginning was at 18:00. Ticket price: 550 pesos (18 USD). In Eternum was founded in the middle of 1998, with traditional structure of rock band – 2 guitars, bass, percussions and vocal – but there was the goal to add a keyboard, a violin, a female vocal and to reach the level of a musical band relating to gothic-doom metal. When the musicians were found, at the beginning of 2000 In Eternum started to record their first CD «Seas of Forgetfulness» which went on sale in Argentina in October, and for the rest of the world Black Castle Productions was released by the USA in 2002. With this lineup and this recognizable musical style In Eternum performes a large number of concerts in different clubs of the capital. By the end of 2002 the lineup of the band was changed. During this period In Eternum begins to compose material for a new album, also performing in clubs. The band performed as a support band of Therion and Gorgoroth. Thanks to the new lineup, In Eternum

obtains very good results and much more professional sounding. But in the middle of November, 2004, having already begun to record the second CD, half of members left the band for various reasons. But instead of giving up, In Eternum found a replacement and continued rehearsals and the record. This period lasted long and only in 2008 the third CD «The Anatomy Of Melancholy» was issued. At the end of 2017 In Eternum began to record a double disk which later was released separately, a disk one «The Forgotten Ones» with new songs and a disk two «Discover» with covers. Both disks were released in April, 2018. During all history of In Eternum, about 40 musicians were replaced in the band, but despite all difficulties, they continue doing what they love and performing because they feel and believe in what they do.

Bloodparade is a Gothic Metal band which appeared in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, at the beginning of 2002 when the former members of the Artes Negras (Hugo Sanchez, Patrizio Castelli and Ricardo Amend) decided to start their own band. The new lineup was gathered when after a number of attempts and intense search they after all found a remarkable option on a vocal. It was Brenda Jezabel Cuesta. She was an ex-member of several bands and even played guitar in a deathmetal band. In October, 2003 the band released the first demo and on August 26, 2004 performed as a support band of Therion. In 2005 the first album «Pain Exposed» was released, then performances in various clubs in Buenos Aires started again. During all of their history Bloodparade played with such famous bands as: Therion (2004), After Forever (2005), Paradise Lost (2005), Fear Factory

(2006), Amduscia (2006), In Extremo (2006), Lacrimosa (2007). In 2007 Bloodparade released EP «Take My Blood». In 2008 the second album «State of Trance»was released. And in 2014 the double album named «Euphoria» was recorded. Bloodparade play such gothic-metal sound in traditions of «the beauty and the beast» with the leading female vocal and spiteful male back-vocal. The music creativity of the band is similar to Macbeth and some f a m o u s bands of g o t h i c metal with leading female vocal Unfortunately, the performance of as Delight.

Hello! My name is Cristina, I am 30 years old and here is my review of the Theatres des Vampires concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It started at 6:00 p.m. with two local support bands... The first was Non Plus Ultra, stoner band with doom metal influences… and the second was the band In Eternum band of gothic doom metal... The show of Theatres des Vampires began at 9:00 p.m. starting with «Kain» and being on stage with all the charisma that

characterizes it. Following the set list followed pleasure and pain... Unspoken words and Sangue... Then passing the album «Candyland» began Morgana Effect with some sound problems but they were quickly solved... Followed «Blood addiction» and the macabre show that makes Sonya on stage that charm the fans... Then returned to make several songs of «Candyland»... «Parasonmia», «Your ragdoll», «Delusional denial» and Photographic...

to conclude the evening followed by Carmilla and the classic «la danse macabria du vampire»... as they always did a quality show and that left the fans wanting to continue. At the end of the show I stayed to wait for Sonya since it was the first time I was going to see a show of them since I am from the southern part of Argentina... A province called Tierra del Fuego... When I was able to say hello, she showed herself very kind to me and I could tell her what I felt for her and what admired her and she smiled at me and said thank you very much accompanied by a hug... And the best thing about my experience was that I was 7 months pregnant and I was expecting a girl and she was very happy and caressed my belly with much love... In summary my experience was something very beautiful that I could share with my husband who went with me to the show and a friend I met after many years talking on Facebook... I just hope Come back

Spell Dusk is an Uruguayan band from the city of Las Piedras - Canelones, formed on July 17, 2016. It was born as a side project of the bands Licaon and VxoxMxIxTxO project. And it consists of only two people: Jonathan Gutierrez (Lord Sadico) and Jose Ignacio Castro (Jarl Ormur). Arising from the possibility of developing another form of sound and musical style, this form could not take place in two other bands mentioned above. So Spell Dusk is the result of freedom of expressing band’s members’ opinion between black metal and traditional death metal. The band has a DEMO «DESCENT» which was released on October 16 and presented at their first live performance that took place in MONTEVIDEO MUSIC BOX with the Norwegian band MAYHEM. That day was also the first live performance of the band. Spell Dusk currently is recording its first album through the independent label «ESCORIA RECORDS». The night began with Ariman Ormuz, a Gothic Rock / Gothic Metal / Melodic Black Metal band from Paysandu, Uruguay, with guest voices and their excellent show, then «Spell Dusk», a Blackened Death Metal band from Las Piedras Canelones, Uruguay, that not only offered a tremendous musical show with tremendous strength within his style but also a very well-done visual show, after them, the Colombians of «CHAQUEN» (Melodic Black Metal from Bogota - Colombia) climbed and left on the stage an avalanche of energy that infected the audience that was already encouraging himself to put together some mosh pit around... then came the legendary «RRRRRRR» (Gothic Rock from Montevideo, Uruguay) who made a musical journey through their long career playing the successes of their great and long-lived repertoire... and finally the Italians of «Theaters des Vampires». Nobody was left sitting and the energy and musical vibrations were present to close with a flourish an evening very rich in musical quality with a tremendous display on the part of the producer «El Puente De Las Almas» that once again managed to successfully carry out an international extreme metal show that left with the desire for more... we hope a next time !!!! Interview THEATRES DES VAMPIRES have crawled out from the resurgent darkness of stinking dungeons and the decayed crypts of the cemetery near by the morgue in the year known by the all mortals as 1994, led by an immortal infernal being Lord Vampyr who had already got involved into the forbidden Art of Darkness in ‘89 and had concluded a bloody pact for his soul with the beings of another world. For a long time, Lord Vampyr had looked for similar ones among the mortals of this world, but he had found only hatred, fear and estrangement... The grief, pain and anger had morphed into the creation of musical pieces awash with the blood of his dark soul. Сurious to relate, they had resonated with the people, constantly messing around in the bustle of their everyday life. But he had persevered in his seeking... Sometimes the Lord had met some people w h o

Here, in fact, is the subject that has prompted us to reach the underworld by the phone and to communicate with local authorities... What’s new has happened within the walls of your abandoned crypt for the last some hundred years? Maybe you have already found a way to deal with sunlight and, finally, are ready to come out from the musty underground dungeons on the stage awash with the blood of sinners and opponents of the black metal, and introduce us to your new work? When will this unforgettable mortal event take place?

Our new album is titled Bloody Lunatic Asylum. It is already released on Plastic Head/Blackened. I think that it’s already possible to purchase it in your country too. Are you pleased with your last raid on the hostile ground, titled, probably, after you, The Vampire Chronicles? How have the studio battles gone and how many victims have fallen during the recording of the material? Well, The Vampire Chronicles is an album that was released more than two years ago and, of course, it is in marked contrast to our current work. The conceptual idea is quite simple - it’s magic again, vampires, lust, sex, blood and death... The Vampire Chronicles were made on a very low budget, so everything was very difficult and slowly.


Interview from the past But now almost everything has changed. With the aid of the label, we can correctly draw up our budget, that’s why we can spend more time in the studio trying new ideas to present our work at its finest. Was it difficult to find the blood kindred souls to work with? In general, is it difficult for them to get along with you in one crypt... or was it easy enough to find you for them because the bloody path to your casket door will remain forever? Here, in Italy, it’s not so easy to find people with the similar views of life... We live in a Catholic country, and that’s why it’s a huge problem. But, in fact, we are not a caste, not a secret society and it is quite easy to contact us. For us, friendship means brotherhood, the unity of ideas and ambitions... it’s not necessary to join our club to talk and drink a glass of beer together. I always ask my interviewees how do they live on such a insecure work as metal music? Do you have to work on the side for a living? Everyone in our team is working in the world of music industry ... well, or just trying to work. Me and Necros are the owners of our own small label, Scarlet and Justine are treading the stage, and the other members of the team have some business of entertainment... Nevertheless, we have one goal - to live on our music. Have you ever learned your trade, or it’s all up to experience? And how about other members of your team? Some of us have a musical education, like our guitarist or female vocalists, a n d

some are self-taught. Necros studied the organ in a music school, and our drummer himself is a music teacher... Could you tell us a bit about your thoughts torturing your eternal brain during the midnight flights, and then spiraling into lines written in blood? Well, first off, you should know that we have started work

on our new material after the end of our tour in ‘99. By that time, we had already cherished an idea of a concept album, consecrated to the insanity. After that, we have signed up to the Blackened Records and everything have been back in its place. We started working. The main idea of the album is based on our perception of Evil. Sometimes it seems to us that insanity is a kind of enlightenment that ordinary people simply can’t understand. But the title of the album have constantly changed during the work on it. Insanity that the concept was based on have remained, but we tried to enrich it with the ideas that we appreciate in this life: satanism, vampirism and dark magic. What is your creative work is inspired by? We are inspired by books, films and just the bustle of the life around us. We have never had any problems with composing songs, because we are always full of ideas. We are Italians, and Italy always had been a country of imaginative natures, so we have no problems with ideas and inspiration. I know that in addition to your

night outings from your coffin, you take part in a vampire horror show under the direction of maestro Dario Argento... Our live performances is always organized by one and the same person - David Bracci, one of the Dario Argento’s (Italian maestro of horror films) illusion designers. David is our friend and is just an expert at his job. He’s just an amazing person and adores his work. David is always with us when we’re having our pictures taken for magazines, because it’s just impossible to get along during the preparation for a photo shoot without him. He created the cover of Bloody Lunatic Asylum, as well as all that you can see on our shows. Our new show will be very different from the previous ones, because we have some new people. We have already talked about this with David, so everything will be just cool!!! Although, personally I don’t like the fact that at the end of the show there will be one big joke, because instead of create the gloomy and bloody atmosphere he enjoys bantering. We also hope that everything we have prepared for our fans will be shown on the stage. This may not happen in some countries, due to some misreading of the local authorities to our work. But I can assure everyone that this time we won’t disappoint anyone. We promise!!! But, of course, all this will happen if we perform as headliners... otherwise everything doesn’t make sense... If we perform as an opening band, then we should make a more dynamic show. According to you, we can state with complete certainty that you really are true & evil... What do

these words mean for you personally? Do you believe in them? What would you like to say to all the people who rant and rave and yell these words at all crossroads and portray themselves as the most creepy and brutal blackies? Whatever you say, we perceive ourselves like true & evil and try to look like them too. We compose and play only in what we believe in and nothing more, so we are extremely honest with our fans. We don’t try to hide the concept of Evil in our lyrics, because we believe that everything must be self-explanatory, so that each suffering can touch the arcane knowledge. As a starting point in our work, we often use the theme of the duality of human nature and the sacred meaning, and the symbolism of blood. This theme is represented in many earthly myths. For example, the story of the origin of the Babylonians, published by the philosopher Berosso, tells us that this nation was derived from the blood of God Bela. According to other traditional beliefs, the blood of Medea revived the life of God Asklepio. Even Christian traditions are built on bloody myths. This is vividly captured in such things as the symbolism of the Holy Grail, as well as in the sacramental performance of the Eucharist (Holy Communion), when the communicant sinner drinks a holy wine, symbolizing, therefore, the drinking of t h e

blood of Christ, countenancing the power of the Cross over himself and his soul. According to some thinkers, this process of drinking water of life can be used to prolong youth as a source of eternal life and as a cure for death and corporal decay. Following this, we can find that there is nothing surprising in the similarity between the Babylonian vampires Ekimma, Ardat and Lamatsu and the Jewish Lilith or the Greek Lahmia. The difference between the vampire’s immortality and immortality which the Catholic Church promises is obvious. The difference is only the way of achieving the goal. The vampire becomes immortal, based on the mythical traditions of the past. He rises from the ashes and finds eternal life, assimilating himself with God... According to Christianity, such an assimilation, can only bury in hell to Lucifer (by the way, his name means “the Giving Light”). In Catholicism, you can become immortal only as a slave of God. Our lyrics are based on all of this. We don’t want our work to be similar to the creations of someone else - everyone has the right to follow his inclinations. What do you think about some of your colleagues... about guys from CRADLE OF FILTH, in particular? You are very similar to them... they also believe that CRADLE OF FILTH is performing vampiric metal. How do you feel about the rumors that they have sold out? Well, first of all, I don’t want us to be compared to CRADLE OF FILTH. Our music is different from what these guys are doing... We play gothic-horror metal. I don’t know if the guys from COF have sold out… or they have stolen the idea of using vampire attributes in their work... but when we started to develop this theme in ‘94, there were almost no teams like us on the stage... We have never plagiarized others’ works,

because we are able to incarnate our visions in our music ourselves, without stooping so low as to take credit for others. I really liked the cover of your CD... Who was the author of the idea? Necros was the author of the idea and he has incarnated his vision in this cover, he works in some design firm... so, it was just a pleasure for him to realize himself. Still, thanks for paying attention... It means a lot to him. What music is popular nowadays in a vampire community? We listen to everything... If we like music, then we absolutely do not care of its style and direction. Whom can I mention from bands? Actually, nobody (or maybe all of them at once) ... Interview with Necros (Fabian) (8.06.1999) From the abysmal depths of Italian underground comes the immortal nocturnal beings known as THEATRES DES VAMPIRES. Playing their very own style, «Theatrical Vampiric Metal», they are one of the best and most original black metal bands from Europe. My questions were answered (with blood) by Frater Necros, the one behind the keyboards symphonies in the band’s music. 1) Greetings. When the vampires did arise from the tombs the first time? And who are the ones? NECROS: The THEATRES DES VAMPIRES band was born between 1994 and 1995 like oneman band. His founder had already had different experiences in the metal music underground since 1989, realizing different promos with other bands. After a couple of month, Lord Vampyr (founder of the THEATRES DES VAMPIRES) finds musicians to collaborate in this plan; on March 1995, the band enters in recording studio t o record his first promotape, entitled «Nosferatu, Eine Simphonie Des Grauens», this promo gets a big success and in a little time becomes sold out. On the wave of this success, 5 proposals arrive for realization of a fulllenght CD , the band decides to sign for the newborn Garden of Grief, on December 1995 THEATRES DES VAMPIRES enter in studio for recording the first CD. During recording, however, the first problems begin: the drummer after have recorded his bases in a day, leaves the band and many errors on the songs too, also the

relationships with the other components of the group crack so much that Lord Vampyr is alone in recording almost entirely the CD. So it comes «Vampyrìsme, Nècrophilie, Nècrosadisme, Nècrophagie». At the end of this unlucky period, Lord Vampyr begins to look for more able and motivated musicians; after many months of searching new line-up has come; three promos follow and two live-shows full of horror references and ghostly atmospheres; this change of look and the more mature songs bring to the band firsts proposals for a second CD; the band signs an accord with ALKAID RECORD from Milan that will realize new CD in firsts months of the 1999. The band’s concept is very based in the Anne Rice’s «Vampire Chrocicles». What fascinates you in

her novels? NECROS: Naturally we consider Ann Rice one of the best story teller of the moment, but in effect we particular love the first book of Ann Rice «Interview With The Vampire».

3) What can you tell us about the new album «The Vampire Chronicles»? How were recordings and, mainly, if are you satisfied with the final result? NECROS: «The Vampire Chronicles» represents the change of style of the band, we took 2 years to compose all the songs (and prepare the shows) at the end we had so many ideas that we find material for the two next albums, the recording session take only 2 week, we had try to create a very obscure sound, more gothic and horroric than the old album, and I think that we have reached a good result. 4) Is possible to compare the debut album «Vampyrìsme, Nècrophilie, Nècrosadisme, Nècrophagie» with the new one «The Vampire Chronicles»? What differences/similarities is possible find between these two releases in your opinion? NECROS: No is impossible to compare it, the old album was composed and played only by Lord Vampyr, pratically now the THEATRES DES VAMPIRES is a new band, only the names remains the same and the way of the lyrics, the style is changed, the old album was a raw black metal style, now only the voice is black metal style, and some obscure atmoshere, the style is more gothic and more technics, sometimes is similar to heavy metal, sometimes it can rember the MERCYFUL FATE... Is not easy define the new style of the band. We like to call it «Theatrical Vampiric

NECROS: Yes, we can. 6) The THEATRES DES VAMPIRES live performances seems be indeed quite theatrical. How do you and the guys conceive the acts in the shows and what special meanings have the performances? NECROS: Our concert is like an horror film, the FX is designed by David Bracci, one of the effect maker of Dario Argento the master of horror film! The stage is designed like a cemetery, with some coffin and cross, skull is all around... We make theatre and we want that this is clear from the first istant of the concert! 7) Are there many live shows programmed for soon in order to promove the new album? NECROS: In september we start our tour in Europe, first Italy (with some dates with CHILDREN OF BODOM and DARK TRANQUILLITY) than Germany and at the end England in December at the Vampyria, if you want other information you can go at: http://www.darkangelprod. demon.co.uk. N E C R O S : Naturally there is some

classic like Le Fanu or Stoker that is the masterpiece of the vampiric history, but we prefer some book that are more storical, and talk about vampire in a scentific way. 9) Religious themes also can be found in the THEATRES DES VAMPIRES? This topic is an important part of the band’s spirit? NECROS: Sometimes we talk about black magic, and vampire magic, but we aren’t satanist, we think that Satan is a way to talk about the mystery that is around the figure of the vampire... Naturally we don’t love the Cristian Church and we study a lots about the Cristian esoterism, but we aren’t true satanists, we are still searching a way to live the religion, we are

studing about ancient rites, but is a slow research that probally will that to us the rest of our life... 10) The old Italian culture or the mighty ancient Roman Empire are founts of inspiration to you? NECROS: Well, sometimes you can find in our lyrics some parts in latin (the old language of Roman people) but generally we don’t talk about the Roman Empire (but naturally we like a lot)... I don’t know if in the future we will talk about some old Roman legend... Not for the moment... 11) The Italian metal scene is quite strong. Do you enjoy the Italian black metal bands of nowadays? Maybe the famous OPERA IX or EVOL? NECROS: We know OPERA IX and EVOL by name, we are in contact with a lots of Italian band like HANDFUL OF HATE, we like a lots the MALDOROR and the king of Italian metal DEATH SS. We also hear LACUNA COIL and NOVEMBRE... Yes we have a lots of good Metal bands here in Italy... We are happy of this! 12) The most famous «vampiric» band nowadays is, of course, CRADLE OF FILTH. I was wondering if do you like their music? And do you like of other bands like ANCIENT, ABYSSOS or CRIMSON MOON that are influenced by vampires too? NECROS: Well, well... In effect we don’t really like CRADLE OF FILTH (and personally I hate it... But not all the member of THEATRES DES VAMPIRES... somebody like it...). Our first demo was

We don’t like band that uses the vampire trend to make money, generally this band don’t have a real culture about the vampire history... For us is different, you can find our name in the book of Massimo Introvigne «La Stirpe Di Dracula» that talk about us like one of the first vampire band (and this book is one of the most famous in our country)! 13) Seems that is possible to find some gothic influence in the THEATRES DES VAMPIRES sound. I was wondering if do you like of gothic bands? NECROS: Yes there is strong influence of gothic inside our band... I personally like bands like LACRIMOSA, NOSFERATU, SISTERS OF MERCY... And naturally DEAD CAN DANCE! 14) Your interest for vampires is limited to the fiction or are you interested in the studies of the vampires in our «real» world? I mean, astral vampirism and this kind of thing? NECROS: As we write up, we study a lots all the tradiction about the vampire, so legend, study, and ancient story... We find very interesting the fact that you can find the tradiction of vampirism in very different culture, so probally there is some of real under the legend. the band came the first time with the definition «Theatrical Vampiric Metal»? And how could you explain the meaning behind this title? NECROS: Lord Vampyr invent this term, that now is used in the European Magazine to define us... Because as you know is not easy define our kind of music... The meaning is simple, in our music you will find horrorific keyboards like an horror film, and the image will be very «true» like a special effects, also the live will be a real film experience... We associate a lots the image at the sound. For this reason in our CD you will find a lots of sample of thunder rain wind and so on... Like the sonor of a film... At the end the lyrics talk about vampire at the 80-90%. 16) Vampires are eternal, but what’s your outlook of death? N E C R O S : Naturally a lots of time we think about the death, the death is near to us... Every day, for this reason sometimes, we spend time in the cemetery, to try to understand what is really the death, probally we are searching the immortality, our probally we are only searching

the meaning of the life... One day I hope will find it... 17) OK, any final vampiric summonings/ exclamations/comments? NECROS: Support us as you can! We welcome you, fans of the dark world! We are band KreoliS which in January 2018th released the metal opera «Theatre des Vampires»! Metal opera is based on the novel by Ann Rice «Interview with the vampire» and in this article we will tell you how we prepared this project. Obsession. Once we saw the movie «Interview with the Vampire», we couldn’t forget and disregard it so we decided to address the primary source - the book by Ann Rice. After the reading we understood that we would devote an album to this work and it should be noted that everything was supposed in smaller scales. To be well-versed in this subject and not to write any gag we decided to read the entire “The Vampire’s Chronicles” series by Ann Rice… And in process of reading all of us more and

more steeped into the dark world created by Ann… And then, having drunk blood of these works to the full, we began to write our metal opera. Here, perhaps, it’s necessary to add only that we found a set of echoes of all these stories in our hearts. In this case the speech is not about vampirism and bloodshed, but about feelings, experiences, thoughts, attitude and philosophy therefore we spent not a lot of time on writing texts and music, it came naturally. It took one month to write all the texts and one more

month to write all the music and, finally, the work on record began! In our case it was a debut metal opera, that’s why in many ways we had to reinvent the wheel. However it’s pleasant to remember all this now. We thought long over the name: to call it «Theatre des Vampires» or simply «Interview with the vampire»? But then we got an idea with involvement of the business card which Armand stretched to Louis and everything became clear - Theatre des Vampires!


Preparation for record. Making a metal opera means many roles and many persons. So, at first, we thought to work only with vocalists of all familiar bands, but then it became clear that it’s worth involving also other musicians, not for the sake of promotion but to express and reveal characters’ nature more precisely. And we began to look for vocalists among more or less famous bands from Russia and CIS… But, as a rule, most of them were too busy, or they drove up the collaboration cost too high, or the subject wasn’t close to them, or they just didn’t understand what we wanted from them and were afraid to spoil the reputation hanging around with some unknown band. But the answer to the question «What do we do about it?» came immediately. We just understood that we put so much effort and feelings into the material and it would be better to find those who would understand these feelings and be able to share them. Also we wanted to embody the atmosphere of collective creativity and that’s why we began to look for vocalists and musicians among bands similar to us which were still hungry for participation in such projects and were interested in it. So, by the moment the preliminary cast of vocalists was gathered, we had recorded demos so they could begin the record. By the way, it was a little bit wrong because of the fact that we began to

record vocal on old demos and in parallel changed arrangements a little. Actually, that’s not how things are done, but the point was to save time and to distribute all resources and no one sat around. But as a result, despite all the mistakes that were made, everything sounds not bad though, of course, now we will consider all this. Let’s go back to vocalists

offer of participation in the project and we were very glad about it. We needed only to find a studio in which we could record them. But fortunately, the old friend of Zhanna Fedorova (Celeste) Alexander Cheremisin lived in SPB for a long time and worked at the recording studio «Kamorka». He agreed to help us with pleasure and to record the guys from St.

– it’s very interesting fact how some of them were found. We were sitting in despair, as we couldn’t find vocalists for some roles at that time, we were just combing through VK in search for suitable voices. And that’s how we found Max Lozhkin (Santiago) and Valentina Tsyganova (Ivetta). There is a logical question - «And how did you understand that these were the right people?» We answer: «) We didn’t. We just liked their avatars)». And later, studying their creativity we liked their creativity as well, and also they were interested and enthusiastic about the

Petersburg. Then it became clear that he was a fan of Ann Rice too and that was very pleasant for us! At the suggestion of Alexander we found Darya Vyazankina (Victim). Her part wasn’t big, but she performed it perfectly. So, the question with the half of the vocalists was solved, but the other half still remained under the question. So the interviewer from Ukraine (yes, somehow we really wanted to involve musicians from Ukraine, Belarus and various cities of Russia) once hinted that he had no time, which was quite natural, since his band had a lot of concerts and tours in other countries.

It was the vocalist of Sunrise. We like this band very much. Well they actually had a busy schedule and that’s why we decided not to pin our hopes on them and found guys from Miami B*tch from Brest. How did we learn about them? Again, we just somewhere, somehow came across their works which we really liked and they in turn agreed to take part – Max Chegodayev as the Interviewer, and Artem Shklyarik would perform solo in several songs. Ania Zhivulko (Claudia) from bands Vitamin P and Shanty whom we saw only once two years ago on the birthday of “Music Way” lyceum, but remembered. She agreed to participate with pleasure, having also noted that she liked this work very much. The vocalist from St. Petersburg agreed to play Lestat’s role, BUT... when we sent demos and texts to him, he told us: «This is real blasphemy, I won’t take part in it». - Dude, take it easy, this is music, it is still art, though dark one). Well, without thinking for a long time, we started asking the remaining vocalists

whether they had someone suitable for this role. And Anya suggested Artem Khachaturov, well, what can I say... He perfectly performed the role of Lestat and revealed his character, slightly having changed the original vocal parts for the better. A little later, at the recording, Anya told us that she was the organizer of «Rock Jam Community», which later turned out to be a magical box with a bunch of talented and responsive musicians who also became a part of Theatre des Vampires... But we tell more about it a little bit later. So, the vocalists were

recording, parallel arrangements were being made, but there were some problems with some roles. Sometimes it really seemed that the role that a man played, somehow influenced him and was embodied in life. For example, the role of Armand was the most problematic, as it turned out. Initially it was performed by the vocalist of VoxCor, but either the role won, or the devil knows what happened there. All in all, it was decided to back out of his participation, and we were again in search of Armand... At that time, we decided that it was time to make some promo and we decided to organise a photo session. It is worth noting that it was very expensive, but quite fun! Max Lozhkin from Petersburg and Artem and Max from Brest also came to the photo session. But everyone needed costumes and a suitable location. As a result, Evgeny Kiselev, the organizer of all this obscurantism even got into debts, but still organized the photo shoot. What you won’t do for the sake of the idea?


The ruined Grebnevo Estate near Moscow became a place for photo shoot. There we had a fascinating day, first of all, because of the fact that something went wrong with Evgeny Kiselev’s GPS. He traveled to Grebnevo only once before, and he had guys from Petersburg and Brest in the car. Everything, in fact, seemed to break down in this car, as a result, he and the guys drove around Moscow thinking «This place we already passed, so we are not going there.» In the end, after a couple of hours, everyone gathered in the place. The day and the atmosphere were great, but it was very cold and Grebnevo was partially crumbled. It’s good that everyone remained safe and sound after that trip. We even met the band Terratomorf, our old friends, who were also having a photo shoot nearby. And then it became clear that with each moment the project was becoming more serious than it was originally. And we already started to forget how it was originally, because everyone brought something of their own, from sounding to any other ideas that were mostly constructive and were taken into consideration. The photos were nice, but we gathered here for the music, so we stuck

the already recorded vocals into the demos in order to listen to what we have. At that time Armand’s role was performed by Artyom Shklyarik from Miami B*tch. After listening to the demos, we realized that we were moving in the right direction, but there was a couple of nuances. The first: it would be nice to record the lines between the songs, because not everyone can understand what we are talking about. Now it became clear that this was a very sensible and necessary idea, since after the release people still write us that not everything was clear and it was necessary to make more lines. The second nuance: we realized that the roles of the interviewer and Armand should be replaced. This decision came to us through collective disputes, and it was not simple at all, as we already were in a good relationship with the boys from Brest. But then

the choice fell between maintaining good relationship or making the project better, and since we were making it in hope that it would be heard, we decided to put the project first and told the guys that we had to replace them. They were upset, but treated this with understanding. And again, we were in search of Armand and the interviewer. Speaking about Armand it was more difficult, because not all of the following vocalists could manage the role of this character. But here we remembered the «Rock Jam Community», in which we found Dima Povalyaev (interviewer) and Max Saprykin (Armand) and the guys from Music Way coped with the task. The Planet of Vampires. It’s worth mentioning our crowdfunding project on planeta.ru. For some reason, it didn’t really catch the audience, and we continued to do everything on our own.

But it was interesting enough to work on a video dedicated to this project and think of gifts for those who support us, starting with plush bats, ending with all sorts of closed events. Anyway, it was at least some kind of publicity at that time - and that was nice. Night of the Vampires Vampires. Shortly before the new year, the organizer of the event «Night of the Vampires» invited us to perform. The event itself took place on the night between the 5th and the 6th of January, naturally we did not have time to gather a normal s q u a d , because most of the musicians had left for different cities and countries for the new year. But we decided not to miss the opportunity to get noticed and decided to perform a few songs with the playback, like popdudes). We did something, and everything seemed to go well, but people did not appreciate it, they, apparently, expected music to be lighter. For example, something like the songs from the musical «The Vampire’s Ball.» It is worth noting that despite the fact that we were not really noticed - the event

was quite interesting, not only we were dressed up as vampires, but all the people around were in the appropriate outfits). Oh, it’s a pity that you can’t walk round the streets being dressed up like this… music. Let’s go back to the music The vocals were recorded, all the instruments were recorded, everything was ready for editing and it was time to start doing it. We did editing ourselves. We knew that editing the whole album was a long and time-

consuming task, but we didn’t know that editing a metal opera with a huge number of vocalists was diabolical labour. Sometimes it seemed that either it would never end, or we just wouldn’t survive, but we wanted to finish this all up and release it very much. When the editing was done and the material was ready for mastering, we started looking for someone who could make it good. In general, choosing long from many options, we still decided to give the material for mastering to a russian

sound engineer, who at that time was actively working in America. Mostly we were really taken by western equipment. It was the first month of mastering... - we began to think about making a video clip. And since we came up with an interesting story, we hoped to film it in the near future... It was the second month and one song was gradually emerging... Yes, the drums there sounded excellent, the other instruments were also good, but vocals, to put it mildly, were not very good. Well, overall, we didn’t have the feeling it was mastered... After that, there were attempts to master other songs there but the result was even more deplorable. As a result we decided to replace the sound engineer and again the search began... Long and not very fruitful search, until our rescuer was found!) Vitaly Dorofeev aka Vetkin from “Vetkin records” from Donetsk, with whom we quickly and easily got along and who did everything quickly, qualitatively and cool! Considering that we did everything for a long time, he really saved us. Then, with the finished material, we turned to the label FONO Ltd and on the 23rd of January the release of the «Theatre des Vampires» took place!


Further actions. We plan to prepare several performances and present the metal opera live. Also, at the moment, the second part is already being written based on the two following books by Anne Rice - «Vampire Lestat» and «Queen of the Damned.» We won’t show our cards for now, but we can assure you - it will be no less interesting than the first part. The moral of this story story. We spent 2 years on a lot of work, spent a lot of money, even sold one car, killed a whole bunch of nerve cells, but we are glad that we did it. After all, there were a lot of interesting meetings and acquaintances, which led to further cooperation. It was both interesting and difficult. But we did all this for you! So that people can listen to the «Theatre des Vampires», remember those characters and feel their emotions. The moral of this story is that if you have all the time in the world, but you don’t have love and you have no one to share this time with, then it costs nothing! We are lucky! We love what we do and we have a lot of people like us who are ready to share, help and support! Appreciate life, love and live to the fullest! Les Vampires is a 1915–16 French silent crime serial film written and directed by Louis Feuillade. This 10-part silentera serial exploits the power of horror imagery to great effect. Almost a quarter of a decade before Batman hit upon a similar idea, writer/ director Louis Feuillade created his criminal gang, the Vampires, who play upon their supernatural name and style to instil fear in the public and the police who desperately want to put a stop to them. The femme fatale in Les Vampires is the Vampires’ main henchwoman Irma Vep, played masterfully by Musidora (who became a star in France because of her role). Irma Vep—whose name is an anagram for “vampire,” years before Alucard, Nilbog and Tom Riddle—carries the film in a way the other characters can’t. Watching a film for its significance to film history can seem like a chore, and the length, age and silent presentation of Les Vampires

Vishnevsky has defined the movie genre as «the occult drama» and called it «ridiculous». The movie was released on August 6, 1915 and hasn’t been remained. In the words of V. Vishnevsky, the girl «becomes a vampire after death, and her soul merges with the soul of the girl who was born from her». The Projector magazine quote: «Nothing can be understood. There were two sisters living together, one from them was married and another often fainted. The fact is that the married sister was a vampire who sucked human blood at night. That was because

John Schuyler (Edward Jose), a rich Wall Street lawyer and diplomat, is a husband and a devoted family man. He is sent to England on a diplomatic mission without his wife and daughter. On the ship he meets the «Vampire woman» (Theda Bara) who uses her charms to seduce men, only to leave after ruining their lives. Completely under the influence of this woman, Schuyler loses his job and abandons his family. All attempts by his family to get him back on the right path fail and the «fool» plunges ever deeper into degradation. The film was based on a 1909 Broadway play titled A Fool There Was by Porter Emerson Browne, which in turn was based on Rudyard Kipling’s poem The Vampire. On stage, Bara’s part was played

by actress Katharine Kaelred and was simply referred to as «The Woman». The star of the play was actually a male, Victorian matinee idol Robert C. Hilliard, whose name featured prominently in some advertisements for the movie though he had no connection with the film. The producers were keen to pay tribute to their literary source, having a real actor read the full poem to the audience before each initial showing, and presenting passages of the poem throughout the film

in intertitles. Bara’s official credit is even «The Vampire», and for this reason the film is sometimes cited as the first «vampire» movie. However, in the film as in Kipling’s poem, the term is used metaphorically as the character is not literally a vampire. The film was also a watershed in early film publicity. At a press conference in January, the studio gave an elaborate fictional biography of Theda Bara, making her an exotic Arabian actress, and presented her in a flamboyant fur outfit. Then they made an intentional leak to the press that the whole thing was a hoax. This may have been one of Hollywood’s first publicity stunts. The film was the first onscreen appearance of World War I-era film actress May Allison (1890–1989). Although part of the film takes place in the United Kingdom, the film was not approved by the British Board of Film Censors, per its policy of rejecting films with illicit sexual relationships. Although A Fool There Was never received a public showing in Great Britain, later Theda Bara films were allowed. Though the film contains scenes set in England and Italy, the entire movie was filmed in St. Augustine, Florida.

sceptical that any of these three individuals (Balfour’s daughter, Lucille, his butler Williams, and Arthur Hibbs, the nephew/ secretary of the neighbour who had placed the call to Scotland Yard) may have been involved in his murder, until Balfour’s body disappears from its tomb and an individual looking distinctly like him is seen around the old Balfour estate. This, in addition to other eerie acts such as instances of singular gunshots being heard in Roger Balfour’s former bedroom occurring in the household while Burke is there and the sinisterlooking Man in the Beaver Hat repeatedly terrifying those within the household, prompts him to determine to identify Balfour’s killer by reproducing the former crime scene and using hypnosis to induce the culprit into reenacting the murder..

Lon Chaney’s makeup for the film included sharpened teeth and the hypnotic eye effect, achieved with special wire fittings which he wore like monocles. Based on surviving accounts, he purposefully gave the «vampire» character an absurd quality, because it was the film’s Scotland Yard detective character, also played by Chaney, in a disguise. Surviving stills show this was the only time Chaney used his famous makeup case as an on-screen prop.

Witchcraft — Cinema (2018) The Moscow band Witchcraft recorded their fourth album with the title taken from a movie. Such name comes true, since the cover causing associations with Tarsem Singh’s creativity, finishing actually with the material containing musical references to different movies. Witchcraft define the genre of their music as neo-gothic metal, and it’s easy to agree with this opinion: thanks to the riffs characterizing the melodic metalcore, music sounds modern. The symphonic-metal elements and female voice parts give a gothic elegance to all work.

The End Of Melancholy are preparing their debut album for a release. Some time ago, the bass guitarist Janna left the band and her place was taken by Roman.

The Eno’s fairy tales are a certain success with audience and with critics after the release of their debut album under a label «Last Light». This young, but very perspective band receives a favourable reviews from everywhere. Needless to say, Dominia has performed as those who hear this album, at a headliner of the Fittings once fall in love with these festival which had its place melodies and a tremendous on June 30 in the city of voice of Valeria. Now the Alma-Ata. Before this event band is working on the new the band have managed project which will develop to make an appearance in into EP release. Moscow on June 1 and also to visit London to hype up the British with the serious, but very beautiful music. In anticipation of a release of the new album, Dominia has released three EPs: The Elephant Man, Suprema and My Flesh and the Sacred River.

Konsistoria has ceased to exist some time ago, but there was born a band called IRRAKRA. In the spring of 2018 their debut album «Revelation» was fully released. ANCKORA are the cyborgs who had come from the future to save mankind from boredom! The band has involved in concert activity and do it very good. Their series of unforgettable laser shows take place in clubs and on open-air stages. Now the band is working on a new album.

Krow led by magnificent Julia are working on the new material and also are participating in several known open-air festivals, such as bike fest MotorDream IV, Dobrofest and TAMAN GIRLS FEST festival which will take place during the anniversary festival «Taman 2018», on the peninsula of freedom.
