Benyon

Bridges

Benyon has the perfect balance of more modern and older halls. The flats have six bedrooms with single beds and wet-rooms. Although off-campus it has a wonderful student atmosphere. The JCR is here to support you and host events like a Summer BBQ with free burgers and bouncy castle at the end of term.

Bridges is the NEW HALL on campus, offering 649 students the opportunity to live in a mixture of luxury accommodation. We have a large JCR area equipped with a TV and the ICE BAR-previously Wessex Bar located next door. Hoping to achieve lots of socialising this year for the halls with many socials and events being looked into. We plan to start the Halls celebrations for its first year with a BANG.

Childs

Mackinder

Childs is fun, large and modern accommodation situated right in the heart of campus. It has always been a very socialable hall, with a lively spirit that creates a memorable experience. Your JCR are here to ensure your first year is one to remember, from boat parties to quiz nights! Our team covers everything from welfare to sports, so if you see us around please do stop for a chat and ask us any questions about Uni life. We are here to help. We have Facebook, twitter and a common room situated on the bottom floor of Padworth.

Mackinder is a collection of premium ensuite flats as well as the place you’ll meet friends for life, have unforgettable experiences and want to do it all over again. Inter-block relations are the JCR committee’s aim with sport matches and other activities to intergrate you as a Fresher.

Sherfield

St Georges

Sherfield JCR are here to ensure your experience in halls is as fun as possible. From regular pub quizzes with pool tables and dartboard to club nights there are events for everyone, giving the perfect opportunity to socialize with other Sherfield students.

St Georges is a warm and welcoming hall with a family feel. Throughout the year you will always have a JCR you can look to for anything that you may need, big or small, we’re here for you. We have a fantastic social atmosphere that involves the interests of all of our students. Whether it is balls, bowling, quizzes, sports or talk-groups, there is something for everyone. What’s more, three major events occur throughout the year, the Winter Formal, Boat Party and Garden Groove.

St Patrick’s

Stenton

St Patricks Hall was founded in 1908 and renowned for its community spirit and being the most social hall amongst the University. St Patricks Hall is catered, with the Shamrock cafe providing meals 3 times a day, 5 days a week. If St Patricks Hall is your choice of hall this year, your JCR welcomes you to what will be the best of your life.

The best thing about Stenton though, is undoubtedly the people; your flat will become like family (albeit a dysfunctional one at times). You won’t know how you ever lived without having them around. . Everyone at Stenton wants to meet people and make friends so join the halls 5-a-side tournament, go out with your JCR, meet as many people as you can in Welcome Week, get a doorstop, put photos up in the kitchen and knock on other flats to invite people over.

Wessex

Windsor

It may be the cheapest halls but it also has the most character! The old corridor layout means everyone knows everyone and thus there is an incredibly friendly vibe around the place. With our own bar and common room on site there is not much more a student could need.

Windsor, Greenow and McCombie are home to 350 students and is the smallest set of the Park Halls, but you wouldn’t know it. In fact, we successfully won inter hall events year on year along with such a diverse student body, the rest of campus will always know someone who lives in Windsor.

Wantage As the oldest hall at Reading Uni, Wantage Hall and its JCR have picked up a few traditions and quite a bit of character in its 106 year history. Whether it's Formal Dinners, Croquet Tournaments, or just a simple pub quiz down in our resident bar, you'll find it at Wantage!
