Special topics include: • Sources of water and its characteristics • Federal and state (NJDEP) rules, regulations & standards • Water analysis methods • Surface and ground water supplies • Treatment options; corrosion, taste & odor control • Math and calculation reviews This course will include plant tours, field visits and exams.
Course Coordinator/Instructor - Mike Furrey Mike is the President of Agra Environmental and Laboratory Services, He holds New Jersey T-4, W-2, and Aquatic Pesticide Applicator licenses and is the former chair for NJAWWA Information Technology Committee, member of Advisory Board of Water and Wastewater Licensing, and past chair and member of the NJAWWA Education and Professional Development Committee. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Rutgers University. In the past Mike as taught the Introduction to Water and Wastewater license prep course for West Caldwell’s Continuing Education program and the Advanced Water Operations course for the County College of Morris.
