This one-day hands-on practical course is designed to meet the 8-hour annual refresher training requirements under OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response regulation [29 CFR 1910.120(e)].

This one-day course will also address emergency response plans, conďŹ ned space entry and spill containment procedures and will include applicable hands-on exercises.

Faculty Coordinator Gary P. Schwartz, CIH, CSP, CMC has 30 years of professional experience in indoor air quality and occupational health and safety. He has held positions of increasing technical and managerial responsibility in the ďŹ eld of industrial hygiene, HAZMAT response, safety and environmental management. He is the Principal Consultant and President of PHASE Associates, L.L.C., specializing in Emergency HAZMAT response, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, safety and environmental consultation servicing private ďŹ rms and public agencies. He also lectures as a Part-Time Lecturer on the faculty at Rutgers University in the Environmental Sciences Department. Gary received his B.S. at Rutgers University in Environmental Sciences, a M.S. from New York University, Institute of Environmental Medicine and an MBA in Finance/Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is board accredited in industrial hygiene as a CertiďŹ ed Industrial Hygienist (CIH), in safety engineering as a CertiďŹ ed Safety Professional (CSP) and is a CertiďŹ ed Microbial Consultant (CMC) and certiďŹ ed in HAZMAT Command and Operational Readiness.
