FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION FAQ’s
What can we expect from our family portrait session? My hope is that your session is a time to have fun as a family and that those genuine interactions are captured. However, at times the shoot may not go perfectly and there may be a need for mini breaks along the way for tantrum time, accidents, food and drink stops etc. Don’t stress, I can navigate these situations to capture those in between moments that are a more postitive representation of your family! Where do we go? Your photoshoot can take place in a location chosen by you, at your home, or I can suggest a gorgeous spot. Having space to interact, play & walk is always an advantage. Some families like to choose a location where they can do something fun together - for example strawberry picking, having coffee or a picnic. What if I hate having my photograph taken? If you hate having your photo taken you are normal and not alone. My hope is that you will feel comfortable enough around me to relax and forget you are having your photo taken as you interact with your family. I will also equip you with a number of tools, tips and tricks to ensure you look the best version of you. What is the best time to scedule the shoot? I like to use natural light and so try to avoid harsh midday sun. Morning or evening is ideal for light. Golden hour the hour before the sun sets is ideal if possible. If you have children choose the time that they are at their best, around naps or meals etc. Which of your packages should we purchase? The extended family shoot comes with the most time for photographing. This takes the pressure off kids (or adults!) who might need to warm up in front of the camera and gives you some extra time for breaks or non camera time if necessary. The 30 minute minishoot is perfect for kids who will only cope with a small time frame in front of the camera. Each package comes with a different amount of photographs, the longer the shoot, the more files you will select from to keep eg the mini shoot comes with 15 images, the extended family shoot 35. After you select your favourite images these are set up and delivered via online gallery, ready for you to print at your leisure. There are no hidden costs, or products that need to be purchased after the shoot. However, if you wish to own more high resolution jpeg images from your shoot these can be purchased for $10 each or $150 for the full collection. What happens when I book? When you book a family session with me I will send you a questionare to help ensure I get the most out of our time together. I’ll find out more about you and your little (or big) people and the way that you interact as a family, as well as the types of images you would like to achieve. I’ll also send some information about what you can expect from the shoot, what to bring and some advice around what to wear. I require a $100 booking deposit to save your date and the remainder can be paid a week prior to the shoot. Please inquire about payment plans.
NEWBORN PORTRAIT PACKAGES
Newborn portrait session
$550
This includes: • Up to 2 hours photographic coverage in a location of your choice • All images edited and delivered via online gallery • Your favourite 30 ready to print jpeg files

All packages are inclusive of GST. Additional images can be purchased for $10 each or $150 for the full collection. Over the years I’ve refined my approach to photographing newborns from highly posed to more natural ‘lifestyle’ images. I no longer contort or decorate, rather I let newborns be newborns and capture the beautiful little fleeting details that make your baby, your baby. Along with some beautiful shots of the baby on its own I will also capture the parents and any other family members interacting naturally with the baby along with a few directed shots. Most of the time this shoot will take place in your home environment (don’t worry doesn’t have to be tidy!!) but on location is an option too.

DAY IN THE LIFE SESSION
FAQ’S
What is a day in the life shoot and why would I choose this style of shoot over a traditional family portrait shoot? Day in the Life sessions document your family’s everyday life in your home. Many people feel more comfortable in their own home and consider this a meaningful place to have their shoot. During my time with your family I photograph in an unintrusive way and work as a fly on the wall. For some people uncomfortable with the camera this style of photography appeals more than a regular ‘posed’ style of shoot. How does it work? Pretty simply, I turn up at your home. I’ll document what I see and do my best to represent your family as you are. These sessions are unscripted. Wear whatever you want. You don’t need to clean your house. Just go about your day as you normally would. There will be good moments, tender moments, hilarious moments, and maybe even tantrums and I will capture it all! Why is a day in a life shoot more expensive than a regular shoot? I take significantly more photos on a day in the life shoot than I would during a normal family photo shoot. Within your home I am working in an uncontrolled lighting situation which means a longer editing and culling process after the shoot. Does a day in the life shoot have to be at my house? Generally these sessions occur at the family home. However, I am happy to shoot at any place that holds significance to you, for example a family bach or grandparents home.

MATERNITY SESSION
FAQ’S
What can we expect from our maternity session? I approach the session more as a couples shoot, so images aren’t to cheesy and aim to capture natural photographs that make you look gorgeous and show off that baby bump. When is the best time in my pregnancy to have my maternity shoot? 30 to 35 weeks is perfect for most Mums to be. This is a time frame where your beautiful belly is of ample size yet you’re not as “puffy” and uncomfortable as you may be in your last 4 to 5 weeks. Though I have shot maternity sessions up close to delivery with beautiful results, feedback from expecting Mums is to book towards the earlier side where mamas-to-be are feeling their best and are more comfortable than they may be later. Where do we go? Your photoshoot can take place in a location chosen by you, at your home, or I can suggest a location that suits you. Having space to interact & walk is always an advantage! If you are bringing along a child, some families like to choose a location where they can do something fun together - for example strawberry picking or a picnic. What if I hate having my photograph taken? Should I be concerned about stretch marks and the extra weight I’ve gained? If you hate having your photo taken you are normal and not alone! My hope is that you will feel comfortable enough around me to relax and forget you are having your photo taken as you interact with each other. I understand that you may be concerned about stretch marks and feel a little bigger all over, however please don’t worry. I will equip you with a number of tools, tips and tricks to ensure you look the best version of yourself - flattering poses & camera angles are all complimentary as part of your session! What is the best time to scedule the shoot? I like to use natural light and so try to avoid harsh midday sun. Morning or evening is ideal for light. Golden hour the hour before the sun sets is ideal if possible. If you have children choose the time that they are at their best, around naps or meals etc. What happens when I book?
