Great Gifts for Your Valentine. Online Valentine’s Gifts that Are Sure to Please Flowers and candy are great, but wouldn’t it be nice to surprise your valentine with something unique this year. Inside the handsome frame a mat in this frame is cut to order with the letters of your names (you and your sweetheart) with a heart cutout between. 2. Give the gift that keeps on

Art Auction 2014: The Art of the Heist Saturday, February 8 6:00-10:00 p.m. Tickets: $125-$150 On Saturday, February 8, Laguna Art Museum presents its annual art auction fundraiser. Over 100 artists are featured in the year’s event, with big-name artists like Shepard Fairey and Peter Alexander participating for the first time. In addition to contemporary artists, the line-up features historically-significant California artists like George Hurrell, Ilya Bolotowsky, and Emerson Woelffer. Guests who have visited the museum in the past year will be able to snag works by recently exhibited artists Adam Silverman, Libby Black, and Macha Suzuki. Other highlights include works by Tony DeLap (valued at $15,000), Theodore Svenningsen (valued at $20,000), and Laddie John Dill (valued at $35,000). Works donated by artists, galleries, and private collectors are sold at the event in a silent and live auction, with proceeds benefiting the museum, a non-profit organization. Works range in value from $300 to $35,000, and bidding starts at 50% of the value. Guests will have the opportunity to support the museum’s education and exhibition programs by adding works by prestigious California artists to their collections. Taking inspiration from the stylish 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair, Art Auction 2014: The Art of the Heist will feature glamorous 1960s-inspired décor and the chance to “heist” original works of art by over 100 of California’s most sought after artists. The works will be sold during an exciting silent auction as well as a fast-paced live auction led by Christie’s auctioneer Charlie Adamski. In addition to art, guests will enjoy a sampling of exquisite cuisine from local noteworthy restaurants Wine Gallery, Side Door, Sabatino’s, Vin Goat, Sapphire Laguna, and Simply Sweet Cakery; vintage-inspired cocktails by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and beer from Noble Ale Works; gorgeous floral design by Laguna Nursery; live DJ entertainment provided by The Observatory; and live art performances by John Park and Mimi Yoon. Attendees will have the chance to mingle with featured artists, fellow collectors, and the museum’s curators and executive director. Tickets are $125 for museum members at the Friend level and higher, and $150 for all others. Laguna Art Museum will be open with free admission for patrons to preview the works featured in Art Auction 2014: The Art of the Heist from Monday, February 3 through Saturday, February 8. On Sunday, Page 4
February 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the museum will host a public sale during which any unsold works will be available for purchase at 50% of the stated value. Live! at the Museum: Helix Collective Thursday, February 13 7:00-8:00 p.m. Free admission Live! at the Museum is an ongoing series of early-evening concerts in the museum’s galleries presented by Laguna Beach Live! that take place the second Thursday of each month. In February, the Los Angeles-based Helix Collective performs a highenergy, out-of-the-box mix of world, classical, and rock ‘n’ roll music. At home in nightclubs and on the concert stage, the ensemble “has a little something for everyone: those who like their classics straight up, with a contemporary edge to it, or with populist appeal” (Audiophile Audition). Called “accurate and energetic” by Fanfare magazine and praised for its “beyond-the-ordinary programming,” Helix Collective includes flute/piccolo, oboe/English horn, cello, piano, and percussion. The group works closely with composers to create new music that is fun, fascinating, and instantly loveable. Ensemble composer Phil Popham writes music that “any audience would love to hear” (American Record Guide). Kids’ Art Studio Sunday, February 16 2:00-4:00 p.m. Free for museum members, free for non-members with museum admission Museum admission is always free for children 12 years of age and under. Reservations are not required. Children under 6 years must be accompanied by an adult. Kids’ Art Studio is a new handson art-making program offered by Laguna Art Museum beginning in January. It takes place on a drop-in basis on the third Sunday of every month between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Children and their families get to create a piece of art, from start to finish, inspired by one of the exhibitions on view in the museum. Art projects are designed for all ages and are presented by members of the Laguna Art Museum Arts Council. Looking for a yummy, unique way to say “Happy Valentine’s Day”? Beautiful, bite-sized, heart-shaped cakes offer a delicious solution. Whether for your sweetheart, friends or family, or perhaps a special dessert for a romantic dinner, these tiny treats from the Wilton Test Kitchen will delight. Enrobed in pastel icing, decorated with shimmering matching sugar pearls, these little gems are a cinch to make. Use a cake mix for convenience and bake in a petite heart-shaped silicone mold. Cakes pop right out of the mold after cooling (and the silicone is super easy to clean after baking). Icing the hearts couldn’t be simpler, even though it might appear that you need an expert hand. The secret? Ready-to-use decorator icing in a can. Microwave the icing – in the can (one can at a time) – until it reaches pouring consistency, and tint with pastel icing colors. Pour over the cooled cakes to cover tops and sides, then arrange pearls on top. Perfect, Petite Pastel Hearts look bakery beautiful, but are lovingly homemade. How special is that? For more sensational ideas for Valentine’s Day or other celebrations, visit www.wilton.com. Petite Pastel Hearts Each serves 1 1 package (about 18 ounces)
white or yellow cake mix Water, eggs and vegetable oil to prepare mix 4 cans (16 ounces each) White Ready-to-Use Decorator Icing Royal Blue, Rose, Kelly Green and Lemon Yellow Icing Color Green, Yellow, Pink and Blue Sugar Pearls Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray Silicone Petite Heart Mold with vegetable pan spray. Prepare cake mix following package instructions. Fill silicone mold cavities 2/3 full. Bake, supported by cookie sheet, 8 to12 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cakes comes
out clean. Cool in mold on cooling grid 15 minutes; remove cakes from mold and cool completely. Repeat with remaining cake batter. Remove lid and foil seal from canned icing. Heat each can in microwave at Defrost (30% power) 20-30 seconds; stir. Repeat until consistency of icing will pour. Stir in icing color. Place cooled cakes on cooling grid positioned over cookie pan. Working with 2 to 3 treats at a time, pour icing on center of cake; continue covering top so icing drips down and covers sides. Let set briefly; position Sugar Pearls before icing sets completely.

Stay on trend this winter season As we head into the cold winter months, there is no need to sacrifice your style for warmth. This year, incorporate on-trend looks from the runway into your wardrobe to keep your look fashion-forward throughout season. Here are five fantastic looks for fall and winter from celebrity stylist, Cristina Ehrlich. 1. Men’s suit styling Menswear is no longer reserved for the boys as women around the world are adapting men’s suit styles and making them their own. This trend embodies looks inspired by Savile Row - the famous street in London known for tailoring the attire of some of the world’s most famous men. “Patterns like herringbone and pinstripes are central to this look,” says Ehrlich. “While traditional tailoring for men - like the haberdashery cut - is being refreshed with a feminine silhouette.” 2. Neo-punk The neo-punk look channels the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Sid and Nancy, and singer/songwriter, Siouxsie. Add a little edge to your wardrobe with tartan, vinyl, chains, studs and spikes. Metals make ideal neo-punk accessories. Ehrlich recommends stacking a few customizable PANDORA bracelets
and rings in mixed metals for a fashion-forward look that is all your own. 3. Tone-on-tone Color remains big for winter, with tone-on-tone trending on and off the runway. To pull off this look, choose an outfit in a rich hue and then bring it to life by mixing in complementary shades and textures. For example, an emerald green top is enhanced with accessories in various shades of bright green. “Jewelry in harmonious shades can perfect the tone-ontone look with minimal effort,” adds Ehrlich.
4.- Renaissance fabric mixing This season’s hottest designers are showing a reincarnation of 18th and 19th century patterns blended with colorful, contemporary fabrics. This Renaissance inspired look is far from what you’ll find at a medieval fair. To incorporate this trend, Ehrlich likes to pair a long, full skirt with a cropped cardigan. “Have fun mixing fabrics to create a one-of-akind look,” she says. “Paisley and pinstripes? Of course!” 5. Mid-century T h e s u l t r y, f e m i ni ne l ook s
associated with film-noir are brought to life with this runway trend. Celebrate classic beauty with nipped-waist tops and flowing, billowy skirt-suits. Complete your outfit with accessories - try necklaces that mix sterling silver, 14 karat gold and sparkling stones. “No matter what your personal style, these five trends are sure to bring your look to new fashionable heights,” says Ehrlich. “By mixing fabrics, colors, prints and accessories that embrace the top trends, you’ll look and feel great all season long.”

Baroque Music Festival Corona del Mar, kicks off annual fundraiser with grant from Newport Beach Arts Commission In anticipation of its 34th annual season, the critically acclaimed Baroque Music Festival Corona del Mar this month marked the start of its annual fundraising campaign with the receipt of a grant from the Arts Commission of the City of Newport Beach. According to Elizabeth Blumenstock, the Festival’s Artistic Director, the City’s grant of $2,500 will be used to fund the appearance of cornetto and sackbut players with the Festival Orchestra, an ensemble consisting of musicians who play on original instruments of the Baroque era. The Festival’s principal fundraising event, its annual Winter Musicale, is a concert followed by dinner that each year attracts the Festival’s most faithful supporters, most of them residents of nearby cities who eagerly support classical musical events that do not require a drive northward to Los Angeles. At this year’s Winter Musicale on Sunday, February 16, violinist Elizabeth Blumenstock will be joined by pianist Mark Robson in a recital program of works from Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Schubert. The Festival’s annual series of five concerts opens Sunday, June 22, beginning an aural journey on the theme “From Polyphony to Counterpoint and Beyond” that traces the development of Baroque music from pre-1600 to 1714. Concerts follow on Monday, Wednesday, and Page 8
Friday, and the Festival concludes with a finale concert on Sunday, June 29. Entertaining Festival visitors before each concert on modern brass instruments, the South Coast Brass ensemble will play fanfares, canzones and excerpts from cantatas by Bach, Handel, Purcell and other high Baroque composers. Among the artists scheduled to appear at this year’s Festival is the Concord Ensemble, an outstanding group of vocalists specializing in Early Baroque music. Selections from their performances may be heard on their website, http:// www.concordensemble.com Another guest artist announced for this year’s Festival is the distinguished cornettist and Baroque recorder player Alexandra Opsahl, winner of the 2003 Moeck Solo Recorder Competition and the 2003 RAM Early Music Prize. Ms Opsahl’s appearance at the Festival is made possible by the grant received from the City of Newport Beach. She has performed with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra as well as in the filmed productions of Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea, with both Oslo and Glyndebourne Operas. Further information on the Festival’s February 16 concert/fundraising event and the June Festival is available at the Festival’s website www.BMF-CdM. org or telephone (949) 760-7887.

A REVOLUTIONARY NEW FOOT SUPPORT EVERYONE CAN BENEFIT FROM
Just like the technological advances in electronics where the IPhone changed the way we think about and use phones, there has been a significant technological leap forward in custom orthotics. It is estimated that 95% of the population suffers from mechanical foot imbalances. These are primarily seen as over pronation of the feet. Pronation is where the feet/arches collapse or the ankles tend to fall inward. Abnormal pronation is certainly seen with all flat feet, but people with high arches can also have pronation problems. While the average person might not be able to identify abnormal pronation, one can look at the results of pronation and determine if these new orthotics could be of benefit to them. If you have any of these problems, you are a candidate for the new Perfect Posture orthotics.
This list encompasses about 95% of the U. S. population!
BUNIONS HAMMERTOES NEUROMAS HEEL SPUR OR PLANTAR FASCIITIS ACHILLES PROBLEMS KNEE, HIP OR BACK PAIN TIRED FEET OR LEGS AFTER ACTIVITIES
You may ask, “What is so new about these Perfect Posture arch supports?” These orthotics utilize a new casting method that puts the foot into its best position. When the cast is made, the mold is actually the shape of the new orthotic. The new casting process results in a full contact orthotic which supports your foot so that there is contact with all parts of the foot in its optimal position. Another improvement from the old technology is the orthotic device is made of material that is calibrated to YOUR weight. Utilizing this new material and process results in an orthotic which will act as a spring for your arch, as it will flex just the right amount when walking, standing or exercising based on your weight. Should you gain or lose 15% of your weight the orthotic should be recalibrated. For patients who will say I already have orthotics, this situation is analogous to having an old cellular phone. Yes you have a phone but you get so much more function and convenience with smart phones. So discard those old orthotics and come in! You’ll benefit from the latest advances - while you get the most out of your feet - and your life!

UFOs Fly In Triangle Formation Newport Beach Resident Joins Board of Directors for National Nonprofit Over Newport Beach
From ufosightingsdaily.com We were walking outside along the ocean in Corona del Mar at about 840 on a clear evening when we saw a bright orange light travelling from north to south. It is hard to judge the scale of the object since it was dark, but it appeared to be just several hundred yards off the coast at about 40 degrees and ascending. The object eventually disappeared. It was hard to tell if it disappeared out of sight due to rapid descent or if the lights were turned off. After seeing this first object, we went in to get a camera and captured video of two more lights. A fourth followed after the two seen in the video. There
is a white light in the video which is Venus. I was having coffee when I looked up and saw a large triangle formation above my roof! The object consisted of 3 orbs working together to form this triangle. They hovered in formation for about a min then took off north towards the ocean. 1:24 shows a breakdown of the triangle activity. I also filmed some Rods. The video shows various Rods flying thru the screen and flying in groups. This is the first time I’ve caught them flying longer distances and easily visible. There were also some orbs captured and some kind of solar wave. It was a great day of activity

NOTE: The opening bid at Trustee’s Sale is estimated to be $195,654.32 In the event that the deed of trust described in this Notice of Trustee’s Sale is secured by real property containing from one to four single-family residences, the following notices are provided pursuant to the provisions of Civil Code section 2924f: NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee’s sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 714-573-1965 or visit this Internet Web site www.priorityposting.com, using the file number assigned to this case 73645. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not be immediately reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. DATE: 01-28-2014 ALAW, as Trustee GARRY DAVIS, ASSISTANT SECRETARY ALAW 9200 OAKDALE AVE. - 3RD FLOOR CHATSWORTH, CA 91311 (818)435-3661 For Sales Information: www.lpsasap.com or 1-714-730-2727 www.priorityposting.com or 1-714-573-1965 www.auction. com or 1-800-280-2832 ALAW IS A DEBT COLLECTOR ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT A DEBT. ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE USED FOR THAT PURPOSE. NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, this information can be obtained from one of the following three companies: LPS Agency Sales & Posting at (714) 730-2727, or visit the Internet Web site www.lpsasap.com (Registration required to search for sale information) or Priority Posting & Publishing at (714) 573-1965 or visit the Internet Web site www.priorityposting. com (Click on the link for “Advanced Search” to search for sale information), or auction.com at 1-800-280-2832 or visit the Internet Web site www.auction.com, using the Trustee Sale No. shown above. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. P1080650 2/7, 2/14, 02/21/2014
