Once Upon a Fairy Tale Presents … the “Chapel of Orange” for your fairy tale wedding day! “My husband will tell you that my passion has always been entertaining, whether doing over the top parties or weddings,” says Cheryl Gale, wedding director and owner of Orange County’s top rated wedding venue, the Chapel of Orange. When searching for the perfect wedding venue, the Gales’ knew exactly what they wanted… a truly special property with a historical feel… one that would transport their clients’ back in time and fulfil their dreams of a fairytale style wedding, without breaking the bank to pay for it. “We happened upon the historical Chapman Chapel, nestled on tree lined streets, in the heart of Old Town Orange,” says Cheryl, “And while it was badly in need of major restoration and upgrades, we quickly agreed it was quite special and worth the work.” Since acquiring the Chapel in January of 2015, the couple set out to make the venue all it could be, starting with a new name, the Chapel of Orange. Working tirelessly with master craftsmen and Old Town’s restoration committee, the couple underwent a major undertaking bringing the historic “Gothic” style chapel, garden and ballroom back to its glory days. The Chapel was originally constructed in 1909 as an Episcopalian church by celebrated architect Philip H. Frohman, best known for designing the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. Today, the Chapel of Orange

is #620 on the National Historical Registry and functions as a Nondenominational wedding chapel. It has quickly become one of Orange County’s most popular wedding venues. Voted #1 by the OC Hotlist in 2016 and chosen by “Wedding Wire” and the “Knot” for 2017’s “Best Wedding Venue” pick, the venue is back in business like never before and has quickly captured the hearts of all that come to see it. The Chapel is also a functioning church every Sunday, under the guidance of Sheila Schuller-Coleman and her congregation, “Hope Center of Christ”. In addition to baptisms, special events, memorials and wedding ceremonies, the venue also offers “one of a kind” all-inclusive wedding packages which include “everything but the ring”. “You basically show up in your dress with your rings and we take care of the rest,” says Cheryl. Such all-inclusive packages include use of the Chapel, gardens, ballroom and bride & groom suites for up to six hours. Also included is a whole team of five star rated vendors bringing you custom invitations, bridal flowers, officiant, day of coordinator and deliciously catered meals by exquisite 5-star Chef, “No Leftovers Catering”, including “privately catered” couple’s tastings. You’ll also enjoy a variety of beverages, a custom wedding cake, elegant table settings, custom music and photography by renowned, top

Owner Rich and Cheryl Gale OC photographer, Ashley Paige and her team. And if that’s not enough, the Chapel staff loves to offer couples a complimentary “vintage candy bar, as well as complimentary antique staging areas throughout the venue for their full package weddings. Want to really impress your guests? Add a fancy photo booth with props and custom text, including album, videography of your wedding set to music, or how about a fully restored ’54 Rolls/Bentley for bride & groom send-off. Why not let us add the town’s vintage trolley to carry guests to and from nearby parking lots? For all your out of town guests, the Chapel has corporate accounts with local hotels offering awesome discounts and incentives. If your family needs more space, take advantage of a

charming and completely renovated Old Town Orange home, just three blocks from the Chapel, available for bookings. The Chapel’s wedding packages are truly designed to take away all the stress of planning your wedding, but not the fun. Let the skilled Chapel vendors make your dream wedding a reality! “I feel so blessed to be living out my dream of hosting people’s story book weddings and life celebrations. We have an exceptional team of people that work together to create such special memories for everyone that graces the Chapel of Orange with their presence,” says Cheryl. newports Sage Hill High School Senior and Local Business Aims to Raise Over $250,000 for Homeless Children’s Behavioral Health Program Sage Hill High School senior, Carissa Long, is organizing a golf tournament that’s bringing local and outside corporations and high school students together to learn about homelessness and raise funds to increase behavioral health at Illumination Foundation’s Children’s Resource Centers. The tournament will be held at the Pelican Hill Golf Club on Monday, July 31,2017, starting at 9 a.m. and is projected to net over $250,000. Just last year, Carissa established an Illumination Foundation Club at Sage Hill High School in hopes of educating her fellow classmates about the complexities of homelessness and organize various projects and drives for the local homeless population. This summer she wanted to not only raise awareness, but funds so that the Illumination Foundation’s children’s programs are able expand their behavioral health program for the homeless and at-risk youth they serve. The funds are expected to contribute towards additional individual and group counseling and

additional behavioral health staff to help address the daily traumas the children at the centers face while living in unstable environments. “IF (Illumination Foundation) has impacted my high school experience, because I have met a lot of new people both at my school and at other schools through the club. It has given me more chances to help others and give back to the community,” Carissa told Illumination Foundation staff. When she first approached her parents about her goals of raising funds for Illumination Foundation, they were both quick to extend their support. Both of her parents have volunteered for the foundation and constantly support Carissa’s endeavors to help those most in need. Her father offered to reach out to colleagues and business partners to put on a golf tournament and has since secured various sponsors including, R.D. Olson, KPRS Construction, C.W. Driver, and many others. Carissa has been a part of the whole planning process and is coordinating all volunteer efforts for

Dylan Long, Carissa Long and helper the event. She is excited to host her first large-scale fundraising event next week and looks forward to continue supporting the local homeless and at-risk youth population. About Illumination Foundation: Illumination Foundation is an Orange County-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing targeted, interdisciplinary services for the most vulnerable homeless clients

Segerstrom Center Arts and Business Leaders raised $300,000 this year hotos by Doug Gifford P Segerstrom Center for the Arts honored Charles Zhang and Jesse Bagley during its annual Arts and Business Leadership Awards Dinner with an attendance of 300 supporters, business executives, and VIP’s. The Arts and Business Leadership Awards Dinner included a networking cocktail party, dinner and awards presentation in Samueli Theater, followed by a performance of The Bodyguard in Segerstrom Hall. The evening continued with a post-performance party at Water Grill, where guests and the show’s cast mingled, dined and danced to the music of Reflexx courtesy of Yamaha. The Distinguished Leader Award pays tribute to an established corporate leader and the Rising Leader Award to a young corporate star, both of whom have demonstrated exemplary business leadership and consistent, generous support to Orange County’s arts organizations. Zhang received the Center’s Distinguished Leader Award and Bagley the Rising Leader Award. The Arts and Business Leadership Awards Dinner also serves as a fundraiser to support Center community engagement and education programs and raised $300,000 this year. During his comments, Bagley said, “Segerstrom Center for the Arts plays an integral part in facilitating the dreams of many, especially the children right here in Orange County who are underserved and underprivileged. In giving back, we do make a huge difference. Very often, we may never even meet or know the children and families we have helped. Personally, I find there is something very profound and gratifying about that.” A highlight of the evening occurred when Charles Zhang concluded his remarks, relating the story of his arrival in the United States virtually penniless, and seeing and taking opportunities presented to him: “Tonight,” said Zhang, “I’d like to thank all friends and the new friends. Let’s run the race together!” During a standing ovation, he led everyone in the song made famous by Josh Groban, “You Raise Me Up”. Proceeds from the Arts and Business Leadership Awards Dinner help make many programs possible and accessible to children throughout Orange County. These include community engagement programs developed through the Center for Dance and Innovation (CDI) and Center Without Boundaries, which connect the Center with the many diverse communities in Orange County. The CDI supports flagship artistic programming and a wide range of projects that celebrate innovation, nurture creativity and engage audiences of the future. It is home to the ABT Gillespie School and the School of Dance and Music for Children with Disabilities. The Center Without Boundaries develops partnerships with non-cultural organizations to help them in their own efforts to respond to the ever-changing needs of the community. Pau Maui Vodka sponsored the pre-event reception. Kia Motors America and Zion Enterprises were Platinum Sponsors. Kia is the official automotive partner of the Center, and was on hand with the West Coast debut of its new Stinger as well as a photo booth for souvenirs and gifts for each guest. The evening also included a live auction for two Broadway show packages provided by the Center, each raising $7,000. Segerstrom Center is a leader among the nation’s performing arts centers for providing education programs designed to inspire young people through the arts. The Center’s programs reach hundreds of thousands of students each year in five Southern California counties. Community engagement programs developed through the Center for Dance and Innovation and Center Without Boundaries also connect the Center more comprehensively with Orange County’s many diverse communities. The CDI supports flagship artistic programming and a wide range of projects that celebrate innovation, nurture creativity and engage audiences of the future. PAY LESS TO ADVERTISE TO REACH THE HIGH INCOME HOMEOWNERS OF NEWPORT BEACH, BALBOA, CORONA DEL MAR, AND NEWPORT COAST WHO WOULD LIKE TO BUY FROM YOU 1. Newport News Readers can afford your very best! According to reliable sources such as the U.S. census bureau the area served by the Newport News is one of Orange County’s highest income groups. These affluent nearby homeowners in Newport Beach, Balboa, Corona del Mar, and Newport Coast have more money to spend and the time to spend it. Make sure that these readers are aware of your company and what you do by keeping a regular, affordable advertising message in the newspaper that all of them read every week 2.Why pay more to reach your most preferred customers? Smart business owners and marketing experts agree that the most expensive advertising is advertising that doesn’t work. Savvy business managers are wise to be concerned about high volume publications that don’t deliver a strong local audience that would bring you customers. Major daily newspapers like the Times and the Register reach nearly a million readers, but do you really need to pay their high prices to reach your customers in Newport News? While some glossy monthly magazines are stylish, their costly rates may not be realistic compared to choosing a highly effective newspaper like the Newport News which is received by your most likely preferred customers of high income homeowners with advertising that costs you far less money. The Newport News is attractive, effective and affordable. 3. Why do Newport News Readers read the Newport News? Since 1907 The Newport News has been the favorite weekly publication of Newport Beach. On July 15, 1997, the Superior Court of Orange County adjudicated

(approved) The Newport News as the official newspaper for The City of Newport Beach and the County or Orange. That’s why you regularly see stories about the Newport News Chamber of Commerce, and prominent Newport News residents in the Newport News. So when you advertise In the Newport News you get the most popular weekly for Newport Beach readers. 4.U S Post office plus selected delivery makes this newspaper special! While everyone knows that the Newport News is delivered to nearly every single family residence in Newport Coast by the United States Post office, the Newport News is also hand-delivered each week to local Newport News area businesses, professional offices, library, and several centrally located news racks other popular gathering spots where Newport News residents can easily pick up a copy. 5.Who is this woman that raises hundreds of millions of dollars and how can she help me grow my business? If you don’t know her already, get to know Kelly Bennett, the top society columnist in Orange County. She also has the top rated radio show and television program “Breakfast with Gary and Kelly. Readers eagerly await her weekly column in the Newport News which features major charity events where the beautiful people

of Orange County gather for fashionable luncheons and dinners which regularly raise millions of dollars for worthy causes. Permit us to say that placing your advertising where it is seen by people who can afford to give away millions is the best advertising purchase you will ever make. Read Kelly Bennett’s “Society Scene “column every week in the Newport News and see why. 6. Free Online Advertising Newport News Version each week. While many people still prefer to have a hard copy of the Newport News to hold in their hand, our online version is equally popular for those who want to access our entire newspaper on their smartphone, tablet or computer. Your regular ad will appear in our online edition at no extra charge. Just click on the Thenewportnews.com. 7. How Fast Will this Home be sold? We’d like to share some actual quotes from local Newport News area realtors: BUYERS CAME IN WAVING the ad that appeared in the Newport News.” Two factors determine how fast a house will sell: 1.Choose a skilled real estate professional 2. Advertise it in the Newport News Whether you are selling homes or other desirable goods or services you should consider the Newport News for your advertising.
