how do you feel

BAILEY ADGATE: It honestly really sucks. This is supposed to be the best last couple of months, and now they turned out to be the worst couple of months. DEANELLY MARTINEZ: It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, definitely something I will never forget! EMMA BELLANTE: Angry, sad, disappointed, loss TESSA BRIEN: Sucks ALEX PORTO: Alright ETHAN MEDDERS: It sucks VALERIE RODRIGUEZ: Really upset but it is what it is RICHIE ZAMARRIPA: Don’t like distance learning. Not good at making myself do work. BENNY RODRIGUEZ: The online learning stuff is really hard, it’s not the same as going to school and actually doing the work there, you have to make a meeting just to talk to a teacher, when you need help on an assignment you pretty much have to figure it yourself for a while, it’s really difficult and different. ARACELI ELISEA: It’s sad, it ruined our senior year :( JASON SPEARMAN: It’s very boring, but at the same time I’m just relaxing at home LIZBETH ANTUNEZ: I feel very upset. I wish my senior year could have ended better and done all the activities that we will be missing out on. CASSANDRA STEINBROOK: I was really upset that we had to stop attending school but I’m happy that we were still able to finish out the school year online BRENA STOVALL: I feel like it’s kinda weird. I would have liked to end my last year of high school actually at the school but it isn’t too bad. CARSON QUINTANA: I wish we had more time to do something fun with all of the class of 2020 before COVID-19 ARIEL CARTER: It’s not great. I want to spend it with everyone I have gone to school with. JAVIER LOPEZ: I hate it because I cant see all my friends JACQUELINE LOPEZ: Absolutely HATED it. ILIANA MANDUJANO: Not fun at all this is supposed to be our year and make so much more memories, but no we’re stuck staring at our teachers through zoom chat. :( SAVANA GROVES: It makes me mad because I didn’t get to

part to any senior address. It has been a long four years. Whether it was through AP classes, sports, clubs, or any other class or activity that we signed up for, each and every member of our class has struggled and persevered. We have passed tests, and we have failed them. We have won games, and we have lost them. We all have memories we will cherish forever, and others we hope to forget. However, regardless of the success or strife, we are here, and we are walking into the next chapter of our lives. While high school feels present, it will soon feel ages away. Some of us hear this and are scared and sad. Others hear it and are ecstatic. This journey of high school has been different for all of us, but it is now over. Whether you enjoyed,

Class of 2020 we will celebrate!

ABOUT ENDING YOUR SENIOR YEAR WITH THE COVID-19 SHUTDOWN?

experience my full senior year. I’m really upset about there not being a prom or us being able to experience the senior trip. It sucked because a lot of us had our last day and we didn’t even realize it which is so crazy to me. NEIDA SEGOVIANO LOZANO: It is a big disappointment because so many activities I was looking forward to got canceled due to coronavirus! Especially my graduation ceremony that I worked so hard for!

MADISON MYER: “It really sucks but I understand that it’s necessary for these circumstances.” KAYLEE KITCHENS: Covid has officially ruined everything about senior year. I absolutely hate it and just want a normal year AMBER GRISWOLD: It sucks because we had to much to look forward to at the end of our senior year. I miss actually being in class with my peers and teachers. ANDREW YOUNGER: I don’t mind it cause it gives me more time to work out and I can find work. MEGAN ROSS: It definitely sucks. I don’t even remember my last day. I didn’t get to say goodbye to anybody. And it sucks. But we make the most of it. MARY GRIFFIN: It sucks because I’ve gone though all this school not to be able to finish my senior year ASUCENA CASTORENA: It’s just a dissapointment not gonna lie. CARINA TORRES: Stressed because we have to basically teach ourselves everything and it’s difficult because some of us don’t have the resources we need. LANE EGGERS: Early summer is pretty epic. I just wish I could hangout with more people. AIDAN WALKER: It’s like an extended summer vacation SYDNEY SALDANA: It’s super sucky and I hate the online work but at least we’ll always remember it.

hated, or just didn’t care about the last four years no longer matters. What is relevant now, is tomorrow. Now, from the bottom of my heart, I thank each and everyone of you. Members of my class, whether you knew it or not, or whether it was for good or bad, you have profoundly impacted me. Many of us have been together since kindergarten, and I truly thank all of you for the guidance you’ve given at one time or another, the help I’ve received from you, or maybe even the annoyance you caused me. We have shaped each other into who we are becoming. We have made it through this together, and we now get to start this new chapter on our own. My fellow seniors, congratulations.

AUGUST GIANNINI: Ecstatic TOMAS BRIBRIESCA: It is really sad to end my last school year like this ESMERALDA AGUILAR-DURAN: Annoyed MADISON DAVIS: It’s sad because seniors are missing out on a lot of memories. The distance learning has made it really hard to stay on top of work. KAYA DE FLORES: Disappointed and sad and depressed ANDREYA AYERS: It sucks that i did not get to experience walking the stage or even my senior prom, however quarantine has given me plenty of time to get things together. KAMREN ROBLES: It’s really upsetting, it cured my senioritis LOGAN BOOTHE: I was great at first but I slowly realized I’ll probably never see some of these people again KAITLYN O’CONNOR: This really sucks YOCELYN CORONA: I honestly don’t mind distance learning but I never thought my senior year would end like this. PUNYAWAT (DEP) PROMMANEE: I feel like I haven’t finished the year and I had to come back home to Thailand. I never knew that Friday was the last day I had chance to see and say goodbye to most of my friends. This is for the best and of course, I have good memories with RVHS. DUDA ELIAS: I feel really sad because it’s my senior year, and also because I had to come back home and leave all my friends earlier. I miss all of them. MICHAEL CARLISLE: Messed up OLIVIA ROBERTS: I am sad about it cause I don’t get to see my friends and have fun with my classmates. ZOE WHITE: Disappointed ADRIAN ZAPIEN: It’s honestly a crazy experience because I went in thinking this is gonna be the best year with my friends then all this happens and it’s just surprising LOGAN BROWN: It’s absolutely awful. I actually liked going to school so that I could get out of the house. If it’s not one thing it’s another here, which makes it incredibly difficult to focus on the work I NEED to get done in order to graduate, and not to mention all the senior experiences we’ve missed out on such as prom. EDGAR RODRIGUEZ-FLORES: Ending the school year like this made me realize that I do like school and miss it. KIAN TOBIN: Personally I didn’t really like it I wanted to finish my senior year at school. JOSEPHINE GRIBSVAD: I’m sad about how my “American high school” experience ended. It wasn’t supposed to end like that. STACY GOMES: It’s sorta iconic ERIC AVALOS: Not fun. I don’t like distance learning and miss hanging out with friends. JULIAN CARPENTER: It was actually dope as AF GABRIEL SANCHEZ CELIS: I miss RVHS Staff and my pal GABRIELLA RUTLEDGE: It honestly sucks. JOSE SILVA: Well it sucks to be honest, not spending my last high school days with the ones I grew up with. I’m still not used to distance GUADALUPE LOPEZ: It kinda sucks KARINA ROMERO: This changed many things, but I’m trying to get the best from it, the thing is adapt to changes. I’m trying to be positive.

message to the senior class

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER

FR O M MR S . TU R K , PRI NCI PAL

To my seniors, 2 months, 2 weeks, 6 days and 52 instagram posts ago RVHS closed its doors. On that sunny Friday afternoon, following a successful WASC visit, your lives changed drastically. I will forever remember the looks on your faces, the questions in your eyes, the slow realization that many of your senior dreams would not happen. I have missed you all during this time. I miss your smiles, your laughter, your “Hi Turk”, the way you always hold the admin door open for me. Mostly I have missed you and have shed many tears for the loss of your senior year. Adversity is defined as a serious or continued difficulty, misfortune, or bad luck. You have shown me how to face adversity. Each of you have been champions during this time. You have faced this challenge with both courage and resilience. Not once have a heard a complaint. You have moved on with your life and you have accepted the cards you were dealt. You are champions and I have learned from you. Every class is special to me and remembered in different ways. The Class of 2020, however, will always have a special place in my heart. You are my heroes and I will always remember you as heroes. We will celebrate…it may look different, but we will celebrate. I am honored to have been your principal!

Dear Former Kinders, I have watched you grow up from afar into sweet, caring, smart young adults. I am so proud of you! It saddens me that we cannot celebrate this most exciting day together. Yes, it is not fair and yes you deserve all the best the world has to offer. I am sorry, the world is not at its best right now. You are being asked to tackle a real world, adult issue at your tender age and it is NOT fair. But, chin up, you are strong; you are mighty. You will go out into this world help to make this big, blue marble its best once again. I know you will. How do I know this? I know this because You were one of MY Kindergartners and we all know “Kindergartners Can Do Anything!”. Be bold, be brave; have courage and be kind. With a heart full of happy memories and love for you all MIss Cummings

Teacher parade through town brings much needed smiles By: Megan Ross

O

n April 16, 2020, staff of the River Delta Unified School District got together to put smiles on hundreds of their student’s faces. Alison Stiles, one of Riverview Middle School’s math teachers, had the amazing idea to gather teachers and staff together to go around the towns of Rio Vista and Isleton to show their support in the start of distance learning. April 14 was supposed to be our first day back to school since March 13 when all California schools were suspended due to COVID-19. When the news came out that school would be cancelled for the rest of the year, everyone was devastated. Students didn’t get to celebrate their last days of school and teachers didn’t get to say goodbye to their student’s. That is when Ms. Stiles came up with the idea to start the new distance learning with cheer. She said that “It was, hands down, the best three hours of quarantine.” Teachers got their cars decorated by making signs and writing in their windows to show their support. Mrs. Griffin even used her daughters’ pom poms from cheerleading to spruce her car up with school spirit. All the staff members met

at the high school at 5 p.m. and started their journey. Personally, my family and I waited outside our house for roughly half an hour, excited to see all of my teachers drive by. Horns were blazing and teachers hanging out their windows yelling and waving which was really an incredible sight to see. Ms. Stark said that her favorite part was “seeing my students and the younger kids who will be my students someday!” Sadly, some of the teachers could not make it due to living out of town, staying inside for their safety, or taking care of family, but they wished they could have joined in. By the end of the event the sky was dark, horns had stopped working, but everyone was happy and ready to start this new way of learning. There has been a quote circulating around the internet since the shelter in place was enforced; “We do not need social distancing. We need physical distancing. What we need is social solidarity,” which is exactly what the River Delta Unified School District brought us. It is something I know I deeply appreciated and will remember for years to come and I’m sure others will too.

Newsom lays out plan for reopening state By: Pete Rossi

T

he Coronavirus pandemic has spread like wildfire to every corner of the globe with millions of people infected. The United States has been hit especially hard with the pandemic, with over a million cases in the country alone. Thankfully the coronavirus has not spread to the state of California like it has to other states. The percentage of California’s population that is infected with the disease is around 0.15%. Compare that number to a state like New York whose population is around 3.89% infected. California’s state government has taken many measures to try and ensure their population is as safe as possible from the virus, one of these being the shelter in place order enacted on March 19, but this cannot last forever. To keep the public informed of what the government is doing to reopen the state, Governor Gavin Newsom has released his “4-step plan” on what the reopening of the state will look like. The first stage is the most restricted stage and includes establishing places for people to get tested for the virus, keeping track of people who have been infected with the virus and people who may have come in contact with that person, and getting hospitals the equipment they require to take on all the patients infected by the virus,

things like face masks, gloves, and ventilators. During stage two more lower risk workplaces will begin to slowly open up. These types of jobs include certain kinds of non-essential retail, manufacturing jobs, and offices. When these places begin to open up they will have to do so with certain kinds of adaptations in place such as retail spaces utilizing some form of curbside pickup. Stage two can only come about when hospitals have stabilized and have enough protective equipment and testing kits to supply the need. Stage three then comes next with the gradual opening of workplaces that are considered more high risk, places like hair and nail salons. And with Stage four, we will see that everyday life has gone back to the way it was before the shelter in place order. Large-scale public events will begin taking place again like concerts or live audience sports events. The government is taking their time with easing up on restrictions as they do not want the number of cases of the virus to increase. It is impossible to know how long it will take to enact all stages of the plan. Waiting patiently is all that the citizens of California can do right now.

Class of 2020 converges for a monumental 10 year reunion By: Madison Myer and Sydney Saldana

I

t’s July of 2030. The time has finally come. It’s the Class of 2020’s 10 year reunion. People are coming to meet from all over. Everyone is so excited to visit with old friends and see where their lives have taken them. The first to arrive is Zoe White. She has come straight from work as the Head Nurse, where she gets to boss people around on the daily. In the parking lot she runs into her old friend Megan Bodle who is now a certified cosmetologist. They’ve kept in touch over the years and as the two friends wander, they strike up a conversation with Edgar Rodriguez. As they talk, they find out that he’s currently training to run in the 2032 Olympics. Some people think 30 is too old, but that isn’t stopping him. In the parking lot, Ethan Medders reunites with some of his old teammates. He had to take some time out of his very hectic schedule as a famous MLB pitcher to make it, but he wouldn’t miss it. Drew Mackey pulled up in the very same Camaro he was driving in high school, almost crashing into none other than Kameron Robles who is a well known pro wrestler. Logan Boothe showed up in his fire truck with a singedoff eyebrow from the last fire he put out at Richie Zamarripa’s million dollar mansion that he paid for with his engineering job. Unfortunately, Richie couldn’t make it since he was really busy with work. Kaylee Kitchens shows up with one of her oldest friends Olivia Roberts and they meet up with all their old friends and teammates. Everyone is there; Stacy Gomez, Alicea Gonzales, Amber Griswold, Sydney Saldana, Madison Myer, Madison Davis, River Billoups, and Bailey Adgate. Many of them ended up with jobs in the medical profession; from nurses and

physical therapists to speech therapists and vets. Bailey ended up getting a bachelor’s degree in business and taking over Ford and Stacy ended up becoming a famous stand-up comedian. They all gather in a group to reminisce about their sports games and to share pictures of the past. The only person who couldn’t make it was Katie O’Connor who was too busy saving lives at the hospital to make it. Brena Stovall was also very busy with all her surgeries at a prestigious hospital in Montana, but managed to get enough time off to make it back down. Coincidentally, she had actually operated on Megan Ross after a minor car accident in Montana when she was doing a road trip through the states. Despite the small injury, Megan was not deterred from her travels and eventually wrote a book about everything she saw. Aidan Walker and Lane Eggers showed up a little late to the reunion. They were busy lugging all of their instruments and speakers out of their cars to the place everyone had gathered. The duo ended up becoming famous for their music and had just finished their third world tour. As a nice little surprise, they were joined by Per Andersson for one last show. He was unable to join them on their tour as he decided to become a Senator and ended up helping to shape the United States. He was always very proud to mention all he learned in his AP Government class with Mr. Porter. Unsurprisingly, everyone was so excited to hang out, listen to music, and dance. So the Class of 2020 met, 10 years after they separated and it was almost like nothing had ever changed at all.

home from football games MADDY MYER: Sports seasons for sure. Bonding with your team is the best. LOGAN BOOTHE: Sophomore baseball season KAITLYN O’CONNOR: The last day of school YOCELYN CORONA: Friday night lights and sophomore prom PUNYAWAT (DEP) PROMMANEE: Wrestling Rally DUDA ELIAS: All my senior memories in Rio Vista, and especially my cheerleader senior night. MICHAEL CARLISLE: Freshman year football OLIVIA ROBERTS: The ride home from a basketball game with my coach and teammates ZOE WHITE: Cheering at any football games senior year ADRIAN ZAPIEN: The parties LOGAN BROWN: Be chilling with my buddies from my old school in the dining area while nobody

else was there wrestling and throwing Joseph, who’s easily 3 times my size, over my shoulder. EDGAR RODRIGUEZ-FLORES: A memory that I wish I could relive would be Mr.Fonseca’s PE class. JOSEPHINE GRIBSVAD: It would probably be cheer season, and if I got the chance to experience prom. STACY GOMEZ: The football games :(( ERIC AVALOS: Freshman year because it was fun GABRIEL SANCHEZ CELIS: The colored powder day JULIAN CARPENTER: When I got a 3.0 gpa GABRIELLA RUTLEDGE: My first last day of high school GUADALUPE LOPEZ: Probably the first day of high school KARINA ROMERO: When my loved teachers nominated me for Rammie of the Month.

2020!

It is sure going to be strange not seeing your face every day (all day) at school. You’ve been at the high school the whole time I have and I’m going to miss your sweet face. We are very proud of you, Mary, and know you are going to do great things. Keep your sweet disposition, work hard, and you can achieve your goals. All our love.....Mom, Dad, Hana, and Lily

Dear Senior Class of 2020: You already know how crazy this year has been, but what you may not know is how deeply proud this community is of your grace, your acceptance, and your humor. You are heading out into a different world, and yet you know already what hard work and perseverance and human connection can do for you, because you have shined with it all throughout your life. As far as advice? Remember that we are at our healthiest in our lives when we have balance and patience. Balance to make sure that we work really hard for

All American a Netflix ringer By: Jared Beechler

All American is inspired by the real life of Spencer Paysinger, a talented young man with NFL aspirations who is more or less adopted by a Beverly Hills family to make that happen. All American stars Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) as a young man from the wrong side of the tracks who wants to be a professional football player. He’s scouted early on by the coach, Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) of Beverly Hills High, who needs a ringer to help them get back to a winning record. He convinces Spencer that to reach his goals he needs to relocate, he’s able to do so more or less without penalty (high schools are not allowed to recruit mid-season for talent, and it typically results in a suspension). Eventually, folks are tipped off to whatever loophole Baker used to get Spencer on his team, which means Spencer needs to live with Baker and his family in Beverly Hills to keep playing. Baker’s two kids are both popular. His son, Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) is the team’s QB, but also battles insecurities about pleasing his dad who only seems to believe in Spencer’s talents. Daughter Olivia (Saman-

Greta Onieogou as Leila Faisal, the kind and lonely rich girl who Spencer immediately falls in love with, much to the distaste of Leila’s jock boyfriend Asher (Cody Christian), who vows to get rid of him. The other side of All American is its fish out of water tale, as Spencer is caught between two worlds. It’s not just an economic issue, as he leaves behind his good friend Coop (Bre-Z), a lesbian struggling to come out to her mother to be influenced by members of a local gang who want her to join. One of the key dichotomies of All American is also a racial one. Though Billy is black, his wife is white and his kids are mixed; and while Spencer isn’t the only black kid at Beverly Hills High, he still definitely stands out in a sea of beige. Though the show has a few scenes of confrontations with police and lightly touches on culture clashes. The show isn’t really about football, but about growing up and dealing with friends and family.

New Mutants” the first release date for this movie was going to be originally going to be released in April 2018. This movie was postponed the 4th time this movie was delayed for two whole years now. The movie has no official release date for now but could it still be successful even though it has been delayed for two whole years now? Only time will tell when this film has been released in theaters. Universal Studios had also delayed their biggest franchise which is the “The Fast and the Furious”. The fans of this franchise were excited to see Dominic Toretto and his family back and a certain character who we thought had died. This franchise also brought in a new character who might be friend or foe in F9 after the spinoff movie “Hobbs and Shaw” which had more comedy than its predecessors. Universal announced that F9 will be released next year on April 2, 2021. Even the production of new movies for next year had to be delayed for the time being. This delay of movies will not bring the end of the world. We can live just fine without any new movies until the end of summer.

College Advice from Your Teachers! Mr. Sherman: 1. Manage time wisely! Time management in college is the most important skill to have especially when you’re working or playing a sport 2. If you can avoid it, don’t take any classes that start before 9 a.m. 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. classes in college SUCK! Trust me. You think you can handle them because you started around the same time in high school but trust me it’s completely different 3. Have fun! College will be the best 4 years of your life. Enjoy it Mrs. Gomes 1. Create a schedule and remember your organization skills from AVID. Having a plan will ensure that you do not miss any important deadlines.

Even Hollywood is taking measures to make sure that people don’t get the virus. A number of movies that were coming up in theaters have been delayed. One of the movies that was delayed was the horror sequel “A Quiet Place Part II” by Paramount Pictures but one of the actors John Krasinki who played as Lee Abbott. Krasinki has given hope to the fans of “A Quiet Place” he went to Instagram and said “One of the things I’m most proud of is that people have said our movie is one you have to see together. Well due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s going in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that. As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie… I’m gonna wait to release the film till we can all see it together! It was a good speech for the fans of “A Quiet Place”. Other films that were going to be released this year aren’t so lucky, like 20th Century Fox with their movie called “ The

2. Get all your work done before leaving campus, if possible. That way, you won’t have any unfinished work looming over your head.

Suspending sports for the season, for what?

3. Create balance between academics and school work. You are there to learn, but also take this opportunity to explore, try something new, join a new club, take a class that sounds interesting, even if it doesn’t connect to your major; enjoy college life! This is an amazing time of your life, and this is the time to be who you want to be.

4. Study Abroad. I studied abroad in Birmingham, England my senior year of college, and I learned more about myself and our country’s connection to the rest of the world in that year alone. It was one of the best choices of my life. Venture out and learn about the world, develop a global consciousness/awareness, and how you situate in it. Mrs. Griffin: My #1 tip for college is to take summer courses if you can. Professors are way more relaxed and sometimes even schedule more field trips and outdoor classes, plus you can knock out a lot of units in a short period of time. #2 ENJOY IT…RELISH IT! If you thought high school went fast, college seems even faster. Enjoy every minute and do all the stuff. Mrs. Mahoney: A Checklist to Survive Finals: 1. Make a list and check it twice 2. Get your rest! Yes, all 8 hours (if possible) 3. Start papers early - a total Godsend 4. Caffeine = key...can’t stress that one enough 5. Breaks are good...in moderation 6. Remember, the finish line is in sight!

s of March 12, 2020, the following major sport leagues have been cancelled or in other words, suspended until further notice: NCAA, NHL, MLB spring training, and the NBA. All of these leagues have been suspended and will not be going through with their season until they get the clean go to start up again. The reason being for this is the same reason that has had everyone worried over for the past two months. COVID-19 also known as the coronavirus, has been spreading around the world quickly, with new cases and deaths from the disease each day. The coronavirus is a flu like disease that has been going around infecting many people, putting a major worry on countries that are being affected by the disease. As for the sport leagues,

Sydney, Madi, & Maddy,

they have all suspended their season due to the concerns of the coronavirus spreading and the concerns they have over their players and that the fans that go to watch the teams play. The mens ‘March Madness’ that was scheduled to be for Sunday, March 15 will also be cancelled for similar reasons as well. With the amount of cases that have been reported already it makes sense for them to plan on cancelling further sport events in every category due to the amount of people that go and support each team. It’s affecting it’s fans and the production of money each league makes. WIth no one buying their tickets for games, there will be no money being made and then over time they won’t be able to pay their athletes properly due to a lack of money production being made. With how things

It’s been a joy watching you three grow up. Congratulations to you and the entire Class of 2020! Love you!!! Your Families

are going with the coronavirus, who knows if these sport leagues will be having games where the public will be able to attend for the next year or season. And the 4 year sport event called the olympics has also been postponed for about a year. The event was supposed to be held in Tokyo, Japan on July 24. But now it has been postponed as stated by a CNBC publisher Jabari Young on March 24, 2020. With all the things that COVID-19 is pushing back and/or cancelling, more and more sport events and seasons will be taking precautions into what they will do for their players and the safety for their fans. So the best we can all do is to do our part and follow directions into what we need to do so the virus doesn’t need to be a bigger worry then it already is.

T

he year 2020 has arguably had one of the worst starts to the year in a very long time. First was the death of beloved rap artist Juice Wrld, which happened in December of 2019 but that gave us a pretty bad start to the new year. Then the tragic death of basketball icon and inspiration to many, Kobe Bryant, who died in a horrific helicopter crash on January 26. And now we face a pandemic that our generation has never seen before, the coronavirus. When the coronavirus came about nobody truly understood it’s magnitude of what it is, where it came from, and what it can do. There are still many speculations of these things. But one thing it did do is rob us of our senior year. When school was announced discontinuing on March 13, many kids celebrated this and thought it was a great blessing, besides the student athletes of course who have been robbed of their seasons, especially the seniors. Senior athletes will not be able to have their final home game, final swim meet, final tournament, all things that they looked forward to enjoying one last time before their playing days are over, have been stolen from them.

“It’s unfortunate that we had our last game and we didn’t even know it said senior baseball player Logan Boothe. Needless to say, student athletes are not celebrating this “corona break as some would call it, this to them is a curse. Not only does this affect athletes, but students who are unsure of the college they will be attending can no longer visit a college they may want to go to due to the travel ban. Juniors can’t take their ACT’s or SAT’s which puts them in a very tight spot for college. Kids who raised animals for May Fair may not get to sell their animals and could lose a lot of money. But what is probably going to hurt us all the most, is the possibility of not being able to walk across the stage which we have waited 12 long years for; to enjoy our accomplishments and share one last moment with all of our childhood friends. I believe this situation can teach us a lesson, to never take anything for granted, because you never know what can be taken from you, even your senior year.

“Slow down and take life in more. Don’t rush to think of the next step, or the next phase--- appreciate where you are at this particular moment. - Elizabeth Greer

June 1, 2020 Seniors, Coach Kawika here, I just want to say what a privilege it has been coaching you and watching most of you grow up since you were in grade school. I will miss you all, each of you holds a special place in my heart. Always know I will be around if anyone of you ever needs anything at all. I know you will all go out and make a life you can be proud of. Maybe one day you’ll come back and coach here at RVHS! Love to you all and Best wishes for your new journey. Love, Coach Kawika RVHS Class of 1992 To the Rams Baseball graduates of 2020 While the season went nowhere near the way we expected, let this be your reminder and motivation to persevere throughout your life. As we have always discussed, we know most will not play a game of baseball again after graduating from RVHS, but it is our job as representatives of the Rams baseball program to learn how to be great adults, outstanding individuals, and valuable contributors to society. If there is one success we can point to from 2020, it is you have all done this extremely well. It has been a privilege to coach you and to be a part of your high school careers. I know all of you will go on to do tremendous things and I look forward to hearing about them all when you return for the many alumni baseball games to follow. Congratulations and remember....Once a Ram, Always a Ram! Thank you, Coach Farrell

Learn From Everything Remember every moment is an opportunity to learn from everyone around you, no matter their title. Pay attention when things go well; pay extra attention when they don’t, and watch how people react to it and learn from it. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. - Mrs. Barkman RVHS Class of 1986

When you are getting ready to leave the nest, remember to be patient with your parents. Let them help you. Listen to their advice, even if you don’t use it. Ask them all the questions. You may be annoyed and ready to leave, but soon enough, you will miss everything about them. And they will have been missing you even more. -Coach Ann Arroyo
