A
s the class of 2017’s high school years come to an end, many memories were created and the class has definitely left a legacy. It all began freshmen year with a rough entrance into the high school lifestyle with the that year’s senior class being very dominant at rallies and on sports teams. They soon adjusted
and became leaders around campus. A few highlights over the years have been: experiencing “Every 15 Minutes” twice, winning the swim league championship all four years and the softball league championship twice, having a new Vice Principal, Mrs. Knisley, winning 1st place for the junior year Homecoming float,
The Class of 2017’s officers: Kathryn Scneder, secretary and treasurer; Josie Hamilton, president; and Mallory Wilson, vice president.
keeping the Bell for all 4 years, having two All League MVPs, Ryan Mackey and Casie Mortimore, having 50 students earn a gold tassel at graduation, having 30 students attend a four year university, and building a tight class relationship. The class was honored to call Daryn Katsuki and Ramiro Uribe Homecoming Royalty. The seniors were the first class to have the new block schedule and it was a huge success. The class was led by officers: Josie Hamilton, president; Mallory Wilson, vice president; and Kati Scneder, secretary and treasurer. This class has an impressive 13 Top Ten Seniors, instead of the traditional 10 due to the high achieving students. The Class of 2017 have always been the favorite class and will be missed terribly by the faculty and staff. They have always been role models on campus and have spear headed many new activities and projects on campus and in the community. As the seniors toss their graduation caps in the air travel down different roads, they can always look back on the tight-knit class that they had and all the memories they created at Rio Vista High School.
Mr. Fonseca “.... stash away $$ for rainy days and life’s partays!”
Mrs. Griffin “Don’t be in a hurry to grow up and have a family - you have plenty of time for that. Live on your own and get to know yourself. Travel as far and as much as you possibly can. You’re a great class who will do amazing things. Congratulations!”
