Cromer Skate Park Charity Ball

Continued from front cover... The campaign raised over £1,250 from the sale of tickets and from various auctions and a raffle conducted on the night. These earnings were boosted by a further £1,000, thanks to the very generous assistance of Barclays, via their ‘pound-for-pound’ Matched Funding Programme.

One of several highlights of the evening involved five items being auctioned via written bids. This added an enjoyable element of tension to proceedings, as guests repeatedly revisited the written list to see whether their bids were still on top. The items included an MGP Scooter courtesy of ‘Wet Dog’, a wine package courtesy of Mr & Mrs E Gurney, dinner at the Constantia Cottage Restaurant, dinner at the Old Rock Shop Bistro, and a Norwich City FC signed pennant.

There were live auctions for three items. One night’s ‘glamping’ and dinner for two that had been donated by The Grove, a round of golf and a meal for four at Weston Park donated by MKN Building Services, and a funky rug donated by Cromer Carpets.

There was also a highly successful raffle conducted during the course of the evening, with all prizes having been donated by local businesses. The level of support received from the local business community was little short of overwhelming. Consequently, some prizes have had to be carried over to a future event, a quiz night scheduled to be held at the Parish Hall on Saturday 10 May.

The charity ball represents another major step towards the campaign’s goal of funding a skate park for the young people of the area. It has now accounted for well over £100,000 of the £150,000 required to fund the construction of a custom designed skate park on the Meadow in Cromer.

The Cromer Skate Park campaign is aware that the ball could not have been such a runaway success without the goodwill of local business, and the extraordinary support it has received from those both living in and visiting the area. The committee expressed its thanks to all those who helped to make the evening such a success, including Christine Ericksen of Barclays for organising the Matched Funding Programme, Chevertons Printers who sponsored the posters and tickets, Northrepps Cottage Country Hotel, Sound Stage Systems, and of course all the guests who attended, and who demonstrated their great generosity on the night. A full list of the local businesses who kindly provided the fabulous raffle prizes can be found on the Cromer Skate Park FaceBook page. Finally, special mention should be made of committee member Jean Spruce, who worked tirelessly in recent months to ensure that the ball would become the great success that it undoubtedly was.

Clubs with Friends

Building on our recent success with the launch of our community café in Cromer, About with Friends are now launching another brand new project, Clubs with Friends.

We were awarded funding by the North Norfolk Young Commissioners and the project seeks to improve access to local clubs and activities for young people aged 13-25 with a disability. Over the next six months we will be working with young people, supporting them to join new clubs in their local communities. These could be sports clubs, scouting groups or drama groups for example, we will be working with the young people to explore their interests and assist them in finding the right club for them.

We will also be offering support and advice to clubs to assist them to become more inclusive, and we will also be compiling a register of clubs and activities for young people in the North Norfolk area. We will guide groups, in partnerships with other organisations to apply for accessibility grants, training and general disability awareness.

We are really excited that we have been chosen to run this project; anyone who is interested should contact Lucy Sait at About with Friends. 01263 151230. In association with www.cromerdeals.co.uk

£629 was collected on the Friday and £760 on the Saturday. ‘Many people have relatives or friends affected by cancer and identify more readily with the problem and the work of the Marie Curie Foundation in particular’, said Rotarian organiser, Donald Mayes.

NATIONAL BLOOD SERVICE BLOOD DONOR SESSIONS Wednesday 30 April

CROMER HIGH SCHOOL, NORWICH ROAD, CROMER

1pm – 3.15pm and 4.45pm – 7pm

Give the gift of life this Easter

In the run up to Easter, NHS Blood and Transplant is asking readers to think about those less fortunate than themselves and give blood, as well as giving gifts and chocolate to friends and family.

According to Derek Carr, Lead Donor Relations Manager for NHS Blood and Transplant for the Anglia area “Easter is a time of celebrating new life and what better way to celebrate than to help those who need it, by donating blood. It’s an important time to give, as blood stocks are often more vulnerable around public holidays, when people go away or are busy getting out and about as the weather improves.

“If you have an appointment to donate at an upcoming session, please keep it, especially if you are an O negative and B negative blood donor. If you don’t yet have an appointment booked, please make one to donate in the upcoming weeks and help us to keep stock levels healthy.

“We are always grateful to donors who respond to calls such as this and appreciate that in doing so they do give up some of their precious time. Please bear with us if there are slightly longer waits than normal on session as a result.”

Donors with blood group O negative are typically known as the “universal donor” as their blood can be given to patients with a different blood group. This can prove vital in an emergency situation when there may not be time for an immediate blood grouping test to be carried out.

B negative blood is in demand because certain ethnic groups are more prone to particular diseases that require blood, such as sickle cell anaemia and thalassemia and a higher proportion of these ethnic groups are Group B. Group B negative blood can be given to B negative or B positive patients. Just 2% of the population are B negative.

Blood donations are a vital part of treatment for many conditions including cancer and long term illnesses, people involved in accidents and in maternity care. Hospitals across England and North Wales need 7,000 units of blood every day and each unit can save the lives of up to three people.

Anyone aged between 17-65, weighing more than 50 kg (7st 12lbs) and in general good health could potentially start saving lives by becoming a blood donor. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years.

Hundreds sign online petition calling for later trains on the Bittern Line

Hundreds of people have signed an online petition that calls on the train firms Greater Anglia and National Rail to put on later services in the evening on the Bittern Line.

The North Norfolk Labour Party petition claims train users on the Sheringham to Norwich line are having to cut their evening short and ‘clock watch’ if they want to spend an evening in the city, and that there would be a greater economic benefit to the local nightlife if trains ran later.

They are collecting support from across the district - including those who do not live near the line but drive to the nearest train station on an evening to catch the train.

Some complaints of passengers are that they are currently spending large amounts of money to get back from Norwich by taxi if they want

Cromer SNAP

to stay out late at night, and that some people have been missing the last train due to the late running of events in the city.

The local Labour party are now writing to parish councils to encourage them to lodge their support with Greater Anglia for a late night train.

Denise Burke, Labour's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for North Norfolk, said “We are calling on Greater Anglia to ensure that no one is left behind at night by providing later trains in the evening. Having to be at Norwich station by 10.45pm during the week before they stop running does not offer enough flexibility, and it means that train users are having to keep an eye on the clock during their night or make alternative arrangements to stay out.

from train users here, and those who cannot drive are particularly keen to see this improvement. With a large hike in fares across the rail network we would like to see this sort of investment in return.

There would be a big economic benefit to nightlife in the area if a later train was put on - even if it was on a Friday and Saturday night - so I encourage people to sign this petition.”

The need for a later train is a big complaint

The Cromer Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP) meeting was held on Monday 24 March at Cromer Town Council Offices.

The below priorities were agreed to take forward:

• Speeding check to be carried out across the Cromer neighbourhood. Officers also requested to deal with drivers using mobile phones

• Police to undertake high visibility patrols in Cromer, concentrating on Promenade and areas of the town with the highest concentration of pedestrian traffic. Also to patrol beauty spots and car parks in

surrounding parishes

• Criminal damage across the Cromer neighbourhood area

These will be reported on at the next meeting which is due to be held on Monday 2 June at 6.30pm at Cromer Town Council Offices, North Lodge Park, Cromer.

If you have any issues or concerns from your area to raise at the next meeting please contact the Cromer Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 or email sntcromer@norfolk.pnn.police.uk.

Cromer Crab Thermidor

Friday 28th March was a great day for us here at The Grove, and for me personally. Since July, when I came to Cromer, we have had the fantastic privilege of being awarded two rosettes from the AA and seen the restaurant go from strength to strength, but I have been looking forward to getting Cromer crab back on the Grove menu throughout the long winter months and it has been wonderful to get back to work with this most beautiful of seafood.

We only use crab direct from the fishermen of Cromer, so that we know that it is the freshest it can possibly be.

There are so many things one can do with this wonderful, sweet meat, and in this recipe I am going to show you how to make one of the all-time classics; originally a lobster dish but adapted by my team and I just for Cromer – Crab Thermidor.

New in Cromer by Design

Design lines is a brand new exciting business with a Kitchen and Bathroom Studio extending over 3,000 square feet. Partnered with J.B Postle, your local electrical retailer they provide top quality appliances at affordable prices. Owners Mark Trinder and Adrian Oxtoby commented, "We offer a professional comprehensive, design, supply and installation service including, home visits and no obligation quotations. We also operate a workmanship warranty and deposit guarantee scheme."

Do come in and try Cromer crab – or of course, anything else you fancy from our lovely a la carte – and don't miss our special Easter Saturday Afternoon Tea and Egg Hunt and Sunday lunch! Best wishes, Charlie

Cromer Crab Thermidor

Six dressed Cromer crabs 60g shallots, very finely chopped 225ml fish stock pinch of Cayenne pepper 200ml dry white wine 300ml Bechemel sauce 125ml double cream 1tsp strong Norfolk mustard 50g butter, well chilled and cubed 1 tbsp fined snipped tarragon

Method • Combine the shallots, fish stock and wine in a saucepan and reduce by two-thirds.

• Add the bechemel sauce and cook over a low heat for 20 minutes, stirring every five minutes.

• Add the mustard and cook for another two minutes.

• Turn off the heat and whisk the butter into the sauce, one piece at a time.

• Season with salt and a good pinch of cayenne.

• Finally add the tarragon.

• Take the dressed crab meat out of the shell, bind with the sauce, replace in the shell and bake in the oven (gas mark 4-5) ten to fifteen minutes.

(My handy hint: sprinkle with parmesan for a lovely crunchy texture!)

Design Lines currently display a broad range of Kitchens and Bathrooms to cater to any taste and budget. Our Kitchens are manufactured in the UK to a very high specification.

THE NORTH NORFOLK GARDENER RHUBARB, RHUBARB

Forced rhubarb is one of the first crops of the year and is said to make the best tarts and crumbles being less acidic and more tender than the naturally grown varieties.

The idea of forcing was discovered by chance two centuries ago, when a gardener accidentally left earth covering his rhubarb and noticed that ‘it was sprouting pink shoots out of season, having been kept warm and dark under the soil. Nine-tenths of the world’s forced rhubarb is grown in a stretch of Yorkshire between Wakefield, Leeds and Morley – known as the pink triangle. It is said that at the peak of the industry ‘you could look out from a bridge in Leeds, and see seven miles of rhubarb in every direction’. There were about 190 growers, with pickers on day and night shifts. A special train – the pink express or Rhubarb Special – left for London every night in season.

Rhubarb is a native of Siberia and thrives in the wet cold winters in Yorkshire. The plants spend two years out in the fields without being harvested. While in the fields the plants store energy from the sun in their roots as carbohydrates. The roots are subjected to frost before being

moved into sheds in November where they are kept in complete darkness. In the sheds the plants begin to grow in the warmth and the stored carbohydrate in the roots is transformed into glucose resulting in forced rhubarb’s bittersweet flavour. The sheds are long low buildings which were originally heated by coal but now by diesel. Traditionally the pickers pull the stalks in candlelight as any exposure to light will stop the growth. It is said that at night it is possible to hear the rhubarb squeak as it grows. By April the season is finished and the outdoor varieties take over.

The Crab & Lobster Festival is on its way – and tickets for the Opening Concert are now on sale This May Cromer and Sheringham will host the fifth Crab & Lobster Festival and tickets for the Opening Concert are now on sale.

With numerous events this year’s Festival offers plenty of fun for all the family across the weekend of 17 & 18 May.

The Crab & Lobster Festival will kick off the coming holiday season with an Opening Concert on Cromer Pier on Friday 16 May. This is a show for everyone who enjoys the seaside tradition of Sea Shanties, folk and irresistible humour.

The ever-popular Olly Day returns to host the Concert which features music by the renowned Sheringham Shantymen, French folk group La Grosse Erreur and comedy by Nigel ‘Boy’ Syer.

Local sea shanty group the Sheringham Shantymen have, over 20 years, developed their own style of performing songs of the sea and as well as hundreds of local performances the group has entertained at prestigious Maritime Festivals at Bristol, Southampton and Portsmouth Festival of the Sea.

They welcome French shanty group La Grosse Erreur to England to perform with them on stage especially for the Festival.

Olly Day is firmly established as one of East Anglia’s finest performers. His unique style

combines an irresistible sense of humour, lots of Magic and an impressive singing voice. Olly has just completed his fifth year on stage at Cromer with the Christmas Seaside Special, to rave reviews from both the press and public alike.

Nigel ‘Boy’ Syer is a natural comedian, using daft poetry, hilarious stories and his uncanny ability for acting the fool on stage to get a laugh. His 'country boy' style of presentation adds an extra twist to his performance that has his audience in stitches. This year Olly and Nigel will present their new Fishermen act to delight Festival audiences.

Tickets are £7.50 and are now available from the Pavilion Theatre box office on 01263 512495. Festival organisers said “the concert will be an evening of great entertainment to open the Festival weekend”

The Festival weekend continues in Cromer on Saturday 17 May and in Sheringham on Sunday 18 May. Highlights include the Bootiful Boat Art Trail, cookery theatre with live demonstrations, a feast of superb seafood, scintillating entertainment, local heritage and seafaring crafts, plus all sorts

Festival chairman Tony Shipp said “In 2013 the Festival achieved enormous successes. Over 20,000 people enjoyed the Festival weekend and thousands more followed the Art and Seafood Trails – it is hoped this year’s Festival, with an expanded programme of free events will achieve the same success and bring more and more people to this fabulous area”.

The Festival will kick off their events this year on Good Friday with the launch of their Bootiful Boat Art Trail and their Scrumptious Seafood Trail. Leaflets for these will be available across the two towns from 18 April.

This month we were entertained by the Den Barrie Duo with Dennis on the keyboard and Barrie doing the vocals. There was plenty of foot tapping and joining in with the singing. It was a sight to behold with us all doing the arm movements to “YMCA” and some of our members even took to the dance floor.

Among the items discussed at the meeting was our participation in the Crab and Lobster Festival and also the Carnival Parade. We will be putting our boat on display in the window of the Community Hall sometime in April. A trip on the river in Norwich has been arranged for June and to the theatre at the Assembly Rooms, Norwich, in May.

Pat Fisher won first prize in the competition for a felt brooch. Hers was a lovely one in the shape of a butterfly, Hazel Patrickson was second and Ann Baker third.

Before our next meeting we will be having a lunch at the Hall, which we call the Lewin Lunch, in memory of a past member Ann Lewin.

Our speaker for April will be Stephen Lockett talking about “Working as a Volunteer at the Tate Gallery”. New members are always welcome on the second Thursday of the month at 2pm in the Community Hall in Garden Street.

Once trained and classified as Battle Flight Ready it took them just 3½ minutes to get airborne. The Lightning was able to fly between 1600-1700 mph and landing speed was 180 mph (often faster than the aircraft they intercepted). Ingredients will of course be sourced from the wide range of local produce available on the Market and visitors will be invited to taste the finished products. Try the revolutionary laser treatment from Coltishall Cosmetic Clinic

Cellulite affects more than 80% of women. Until now we only had solutions to temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite. Not any more.

We now have a laser treatment available that treats cellulite from inside. To understand cellulite treatment we need to understand what causes cellulite. The structure of skin and subcutaneous fat is different in men and women. Men have a number of criss cross strands of fibrous tissue, which keep the skin appearing firm.

Women, however, have less fibrous tissue strands between the skin and deeper tissue and these are more or less perpendicular to skin.

This allows the fatty tissue to bulge out. This in turn restricts the circulation causing yet more swelling.

How does the laser treat cellulite? Laser works in four ways. • it melts the fat cells and reduces swelling in this way • it breaks fibrous strands that pull the skin down. This releases the bands that cause dimpling • it heats under layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and improve skin quality • it improves circulation

How is the laser cellulite treatment performed? This is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed purely under local anaesthesia. A special

anesthetic solution is injected in the area to be treated. Once the area is totally numb a tiny hair thin laser fibre is introduces into cellulite. The laser is then activated to treat the area. Following this a thin metal tube may be used to even out thicker areas of cellulite. This is followed by application of a compression garment.

What is the recovery like? Some amount of swelling and bruising is common. Most people can return to work within 3-5 days. Sometimes it can take 3 weeks to resume sport or heavy exercise. Results continue to improve for 3-6 months after the procedure.

For more information or to book an appointment contact Coltishall Cosmetic Clinic on 0800 0430737 or log on to the website at www.coltishallclinic.co.uk

‘Undersong’ – A new Audio Trail in Overstrand

Local broadcaster and writer of all things Norfolk, Keith Skipper, officially launched the ‘Undersong’ Audio Trail in Overstrand at the end of last month.

The Audio Trail is the brainchild of local artist and director of the Belfry Arts Centre, Nora Gaston, who has over the years encountered a host of local characters whom she felt were worthy of recording in order to keep their stories, songs, poems and music alive.

Working in conjunction with artist Duncan McAfee who recorded the voices and sounds about this very interesting area of North Norfolk they have created a unique, artistic narrative that will preserve the flavour of Overstrand and the stories of the mythical black dog, the relentless sea, the tale of the shrieking pits, contraband and local fishing in

The Belfry Arts Centre ‘U-turn’ post is a windup post while the other two are solar powered.

The accompanying booklet and CD available from the Belfry Arts Centre are a colourful informative, fun publication that add colour and image to the Audio Trail.

a way that will both fascinate and delight all those who listen.

The Audio Trail consists of three listening posts located at the Belfry Arts Centre, the Overstrand Information Point and the Ronnie Cork Memorial on the cliff top in Overtrand.

Nora Gaston said “I am delighted with the project, I am sure that everyone will find it both fun and fascinating. Overstrand has hundreds of holiday visitors and dozens of school parties and this can only add to their experience of the village”. She continued “the project has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, North Norfolk District Council and Norfolk County Council and I and all those who have been involved with the project are extremely grateful for their support”.

Norfolk Care and Support Services Directory 2014

Finding care information in the area has been made a little easier with the publication of the Norfolk Care and Support Services Directory 2014. The Directory which is published by Care Choices Ltd in association with Norfolk County Council is packed with useful editorial that explains all available care options and includes comprehensive listings of care providers for residential care or care in your own home. There is also guidance on paying for care and what financial assistance is available from the Government.

Robert Chamberlain, publisher of the directory said “When choosing care you should be armed with the most up-to-date information to help you decide which kind of care is most suitable, who can provide it and how it is to be funded. The Care Services Directory is an invaluable

source of information for anyone considering long term care.”

If you want to speak to someone about care options, funding, accessing services or other care-related questions you may have, call this directory’s free helpline on 0800 38 92 077. The friendly operators can give you more information, talk through any queries and provide you with a shortlist of care homes, in your chosen location, that meet specific care needs.

Council takes action to revitalise markets

North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) is reducing costs to traders to try to ensure that its traditional markets continue to play an important part in the economies of market towns.

NNDC manages the weekly markets in Sheringham, Stalham and Cromer, all of which in recent years have seen a decline in the number of traders. In an attempt to help and encourage regular traders and to revitalise the markets the Council has decided to implement a number of changes:

• •

regular traders’ rents reduced by an average of 10% reduced rent for charity stalls - £5 per pitch, with charities being able to book up to 12 places each year reduced rates for new starters for eight consecutive weeks rentable gazebos for new starters and charity stalls

increased advertising for all three markets to boost visitor numbers

Alongside the reduction in rents, traders will now be expected to remove their own waste rather than rely on a council collection.

number of regular traders. In this case, with the support of Stalham Town Council, NNDC has decided to concentrate its efforts on revitalising the market over the summer and no longer to run it as an all-year-round market. Stalham market will therefore run from April to September in 2014, with the single regular trader being offered a five month concession licence if no increase in other traders is achieved by May.

Rhodri Oliver, NNDC Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Assets, said “Everyone loves to wander around a traditional market, whether they live locally or are on holiday. Council announces grants to increase household by last December’s flooding who still needs and business flood resilience support. Those who experienced flooding

North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) is urging households and businesses in the district directly affected by flooding in last December’s tidal surge and storm to apply for grants from central government’s recently announced Flood Support Schemes.

The schemes, which will be administered locally by NNDC and operative from 1 April, are intended to assist those individual households and businesses that suffered flooding in December to increase their capability to withstand any future flooding. Businesses adversely affected by the storm can also apply for funds to reimburse business losses and help with business recovery. The deadline for all applications is 31 May 2014.

Both households and businesses directly affected by flooding will be able to apply for up to £5000 from the Repair and Renew Grant. The aim of this grant is to build resilience against possible future flooding events, over and above repairs that would generally be covered by insurance. Measures that might be covered by this grant include such things as airbrick covers, demountable door and window guards, repointing external walls with waterresistant mortar and moving electrics above likely flood level.

NNDC will also run the Business Support

Scheme, designed to support all small and medium sized businesses that suffered significant losses as a result of December’s storm. This grant, which is limited to £2,500 per business, aims to cover both clean-up costs and other financial impacts, such as and loss of trade as well as the development and implementation of business recovery plans.

NNDC will be applying a council tax discount and business rates relief for up to three months for affected households and businesses. All those known to have been affected will be notified directly when their council tax/ business rates information is sent out within the next 14 days.

NNDC Leader, Tom FitzPatrick said, “It now seems a long time since the December storms and thankfully many businesses and households are well on the road to recovery. Many of those affected, however, are still in need of support and I am sure this assistance will come as very welcome news. These payments will not only help those affected to recover some of their losses, but will assist in ensuring that the next event will not be as damaging.

“We are keen to make the application process as simple and straightforward as possible. Our aim is to receive an application from every single household and business directly affected

suffered significantly and they all deserve the extra help that this package provides, to increase their resilience against flooding in the future.

“We also hope that with households and businesses taking advantage of the grants it will bring benefits for the many high quality local traders and tradespeople, builders, plumbers, electricians etc. that we have in North Norfolk.”

Details of the schemes, guidance as to who can apply and application forms will be available on the NNDC website northnorfolk.org and can be downloaded from 2 April.

NNDC will be holding advice surgeries for local householders and businesses seeking further information and assistance regarding the schemes, as follows:

• • •

Wells - Tuesday 15 April – The Maltings

Walcott - Wednesday 16 April – Walcott Village Hall

Blakeney - Wednesday 23 April – Blakeney Village Hall

Bacton - Thursday 24 April – Bacton Village Hall

All events will run 2 – 4pm and appointments can be pre-booked on 01263 516044 or email floodsupport@north-norfolk.gov.uk

Cromer Marrams Bowls Club Tales from the Bowling Green ...

.hello and welcome to the regular snippets of information from the Marrams Bowls Club as once again the outdoor bowls season approaches. Overall I must say we have had a mild winter, the North Sea surge apart of course. Now as I write the sun shines and there are blue skies, albeit with a somewhat chilly wind. Let’s hope it continues but without the wind. This weekend club members will be at Runton Road preparing the green and surrounds ready for the opening day on Saturday 19 April. On that day the usual activity will ensue. Membership fees will be paid, fixture cards and club bowls stickers will be collected and I expect to see members on the green for the first ‘Rollup’ of the year. I know we have at least one new member this year and I hope that as members have spread the word during the winter months we shall see even more. The council have passed over maintenance and cutting of the green to the club, and over the winter a new firm have been carrying out the regular work on the green for us. During the summer a rota of club members will be cutting the green. All to save on costs as in these days every penny counts!

To bring a smile to your faces our very artistic club member Jack the Painter has come up with a few words for us which I think sums up how we all feel at the club...

Sport Relief at Greshams

On Monday 24 March, pupils from Gresham’s PrePrep and Prep School (Year 3 and Year 4) took part in a sponsored event for Sport Relief 2014.

The sun came out for the occasion and everyone enjoyed competing in a series of fun relays involving balls, high step and side step, as well as running. The children not only had fun taking part in the relay events throughout the morning but also managed to raise over £1000 in sponsorship.

Come join us, enjoy, find out what’s in store Beneath the gulls that do soar The pastime of bowls in the glorious outdoor I’m talking of Cromer Marrams above the foreshore

A friendly gathering offering a welcome to all Try us out, you are likely to have a ball Enjoy a coffee or tea, you’ll likely stay longer Or perhaps, occasionally, something stronger

Why not give us a try, equipment provided Even the bowls which you may think are lopsided As a newbie you’ll be accompanied, you won’t be harried Gentle conversation and humour guaranteed to be bandied Come join us, enjoy, find out what’s in store Here at Cromer Marrams above the foreshore.

And to encourage you again this year come for free trial sessions on a Friday evening where all the above will be there for you, although if you have your own flat soled shoes all the better!

The clubhouse will be open for refreshments afterwards.

As usual this year we shall have a team in the Wednesday night Hansells County League with Captain Graham Hall. There are two Federation teams playing on Tuesday evenings. The Crabs under Captain John Andreae and the Crows under the strict control of Captain Kay Hazelwood. We also have a team in the afternoon NANSA League with Captain Roger Purser. Our League seasons on the green start early this year. Our first Federation game is on Tuesday 29 April with The Crabs v Sheringham Morley BC and the first Hansells League game is against Reepham Nomads BC on Wednesday 30th April. Full details of all forthcoming games will be listed in the next issue.
