provide emergency food support to local people, as well as essential household items, cleaning products, toiletries, baby items and more. We rely solely on donations to offer this support, which has, unfortunately, experienced a dramatic decrease in recent weeks

We have been very lucky to have received monetary donations in order to keep the Fridge and Larder stocked; however, this is now coming to end, and we are finding it even more difficult to keep this much-needed service running Helping over 25 families and individuals a day, we are seeing an ever-increasing demand for emergency help

This type of problem, where the white K makes all the moves for his side, is called a Durbar (Indian term, perhaps?) The price for first solution received goes to Gerry Enslin (Sheringham)

No. 314, shows the French motif “Reculer pour mieux sauter”

Note that 1 g7+? Kh7 2 g8Q+ Kh6 3 Qg4 would be only mate in 4, so White has to activate the SW corner – note also that stalemate must be relieved. Difficulty 2.

Sheringham & District Philatelic Society

We were pleased to welcome one new member at our April meeting, and a couple who came to see whether or not they would like to join us We very much hope that we will see them again in May!

6 members presented a tremendous variety of mainly 10 sheet displays Mike Clarke, a lifetime GB collector, brought along a selection of surface printed, Victorian stamps on covers, which had recently taken his interest. Tony Taylor put up part of an old competition entry of his, of Queen Elizabeth 11 3d Wildings There were blocks, booklet panes, watermark variations and printing errors amongst them

Jane Purkiss has always taken a great interest in anything philatelic relating to Captain James Cook and, this time, she showed us her collection of Cook Island stamps, some dating back to 1893 Early stamps were overprinted New Zealand stamps, before these 15 islands in the south Pacific became self-governing

Tim Harvey’s interest is more in his postcard collection, and he displayed a wonderful group of cards which demonstrated the growth of Cromer as a tourist destination In the early days, Cromer was known as The Gentlemen’s Watering Hole

a place where the wealthy came for sea air With the arrival of the railways and the publication of Clement Scott’s poem, The Garden of Sleep, Cromer ’s popularity grew Postcards were produced illustrating all aspects of this glorious seaside town

Andrew McCandlish brought the evening to a close with stamps from Azerbaijan, Poland in exile in WW2 and Albania, giving us the fascinating historical details which lay behind these stamps

Next meeting is on 15th May, at West Runton Church Hall at 7 30pm Visitors are welcome. For more information, please contact Jim on 01263 721043

It's also exam season for the youngsters over the next few weeks, with lots of revision to do and exam nerves to cope with Best of luck for those taking GCSEs and A levels, it will all be worth the hard work in the end

Cromer & Sheringham Probus Club

On 4 April, after lunch, we had a most interesting talk by member Paul Rundle on “Hitler ’s Spies in the UK” We learnt that during WWII Britain rounded up all of the spies which Hitler had sent over; all but one of these had already been identified before their arrest, largely thanks to Enigma messages which had been decrypted Some spies were arrested soon after landing in Britain, having injured themselves in their parachute landings Moreover, the training of these spies had not been notably efficient and many or most of them could not even speak English! Some spies were executed for treachery, including Josef Jakobs (1898-1941), who was the last person ever to be executed at the Tower of London

Paul spoke to us also about those who became double agents, having been ‘turned’ by MI5 Such double agents would, for example, feed false information to Germany about such things as troop locations or troop movements A well-known example was Agent Zigzag who provided false information to Germany about the landing places of the V1 and V2 missiles, claiming they had overshot their marks. As a result, the aim was adjusted and remaining V1s and V2s fell short of central London! Furthermore, ‘Garbo’ (a k a Juan Pujol Garcia) invented a complete but false spy network, to fool Berlin

On 6 June we will hold our Annual General Meeting but on 4 July Giles Orpen-Smellie will speak to us about the role of the Norfolk Police Commissioner

Have a look at our website www candsprobus club to find out more about the club – or you can call Dave Vickery on 01263 824306.

North Norfolk Open Studios is back again this spring for a third year and it is bigger than ever with 150 artists signed up to exhibit over a wider area than previously

The event will take place from Saturday 27th May until Sunday 4th June, coinciding with the half term and spring bank holiday

Details of participating artists, opening times and maps can be found on the excellent and very accessible new website: northnorfolkstudios co uk A brochure will also be available from early May in your local

libraries, shops and tourist offices

As before the artists have been organised into trails and this year there are seventeen trails covering an area from Castle Acre and Fakenham to Potter Heigham and Acle and all along the coast from Burnham Market to Happisburgh. Many of the trails are producing their own maps to make it easier for visitors to see several studios in succession if they wish All the artists will be offering original work for sale, and many also produce prints and cards

It’s a great opportunity to see what the artists in your area are up to and to buy directly from them without paying gallery commission

There will be a taster exhibition showing one piece of work by a selection of participating artists at The Old Workshop Gallery, Corpusty, NR11 6QP from 13th May - 4th June Open Weds - Sat 10 - 4 50, Sun 1 - 4 50 Bank Holiday Mon 10 - 2 30 It will be an opportunity to preview some of the work

and plan your studio visits

This year the Sheringham trail will include Julie Kathleen Childs and Carolyn Coe in Beeston Rd, Tracey Lees in Hooks Hill Rd, and Steven Paterson in Beeston Our trail will also include West Beckham this year, where Joannie Sandford Cook will open her studio at Sunset Cottage, and Sheringham artist Angie

Maddigan will be exhibiting with Lesley

Ash and Anna Cloutman at Camp Farm Camp Farm is just outside West Beckham and is a former World War 2 lookout post Some of the buildings from that time survive, and it’s close to the highest point in Norfolk

North Norfolk Studios co-operative was formed in 2020 and has held popular Open Studios events for the past two years. This year ’s Chair, Pia Henderson, said: “North Norfolk Studios is an artists’ co-operative teeming with talent This year we have new venues, new trails and therefore we are showcasing even more work It has been an honour to meet and engage with my fellow makers and experience the huge variety of artistic output North Norfolk offers I have had a rich and rewarding year, and I hope your visits will provide similar nourishment”

Baking back in time!

At Age Concern North Norfolk we cook around 40 meals per day for people in the day centre, the Lunch Club and for the Meals on Heels service. Our chef has the luxury of modern appliances and labour saving equipment although our kitchen is relatively small and we are planning to extend and refurbish the area in the next year once we have the funding

As part of our Reminiscence session, we stepped back in time to use kitchen tools that required a more hands on approach with weighing flour and butter on scales, mixing by hand and using wooden rolling pins to make some scones It was a very interactive session and everyone listened to an old Bakelite radio while concentrating on making the perfect scone

In building up our resources, we welcome donations of small items from the 50s and 60s to help us use the genuine articles in our reminiscence sessions although we do make use of the local library’s packs which are great conversation starters

Reminiscence involves sharing thoughts and feelings of everyone’s experiences to recall and reflect on important events within their lives The ability to recall and reflect helps older people to remember who they used to be in order to help them define their identity in the current moment.

The stories of the past provide a source of affirmation, hope, and a belief that their legacy will be preserved

Appeal for Volunteer Beach Wardens to Support Rare Wildlife

This spring, Norfolk Wildlife Trust is on the search for volunteer wardens to help protect and monitor rare birds at NWT Holme Dunes nature reserve, on the North Norfolk coast, and its neighbouring beaches

Over half of England’s most threatened breeding birds nest on the ground and for some, including ringed plover, little tern and oystercatcher, Norfolk’s coastline is a vital stronghold during the spring and summer After a long journey – in the case of little terns from Africa – the birds settle down on our coast to raise a family. During this

time, they face many challenges including disturbance, rising sea levels and predators

In the last 35 years, the population of ringed plovers in Norfolk has declined by a shocking 79 per cent, with just 123 pairs recorded in 2018 Norfolk is the most important county in the UK for nesting little terns In 2021 almost half of the UK population (roughly 691 pairs) of these birds were attempting to nest across the North and East of Norfolk Oystercatcher numbers are also dropping, seeing them join the little tern on the Amber

list of conservation concern

To help beach-nesting bird populations to recover, organisations such as Norfolk Wildlife Trust protect and monitor these avian tourists during their annual visit to our shores, with the support of volunteer beach wardens To help give these special birds enough space to raise their families Norfolk Wildlife Trust are keen for Holme Dunes beach visitors to understand the need to keep a distance from special fenced-off nesting areas on the beach, to be vigilant for the tiny chicks that may be feeding on the shoreline, and to keep their dogs under effective control

Tori Backham, Assistant Warden at NWT Holme Dunes, explains: “Our beach wardens act as guardians to our vulnerable beach-nesting birds They support our wildlife by patrolling the beaches, helping the public to understand the importance of looking after these special species, as well as recording bird behaviour and nesting activity

“This vital work would not be possible without the help of a band of friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers If you feel passionate about making a difference and you have some spare time to give, we’d love to hear from you It’s such an important job and an incredibly beautiful setting – there's really no better place to be!”

Norfolk Wildlife Trust are looking for people with a passion for wildlife who enjoy talking to the public The role doesn’t require you to have background knowledge of the birds and their behaviours as training will be provided by Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

Outside the Wire

In March a group of ten veterans from North Norfolk Hub joined with a group of twenty veterans from the Norwich Hub for a First World War Battlefield Pilgrimage to the Ypres Salient in Belgium The Outside the Wire Charity, part of the Mathew Project, enabled the visit and Empire Battlefield Tours provided the guiding over four days

Places visited included the Tyne Cot cemetery, Hill 60, Passchendaele and the Menin Gate Memorial, where the names of over fifty-four thousand missing soldiers are inscribed on its walls. Since 1928 the last post has sounded here at 8 pm every night, 365 days of the year There was a break for the Second World War when it was played elsewhere The group took part in the service where a wreath was laid in respect of the fallen

Thanks go to Outside the Wire, Battlefield Tours and Maretts Chariots

A brilliant trip, the biggest one yet, everything ran really smoothly. Coach company and hotel could not be faulted, excellent battlefield guide

Hedgehog Haven

TM, pictured, has come into care with a nasty injury on one of his ears, left untreated it could then lead to serious infection.

This could have been caused by fighting with another hog or getting caught on something

Please be aware when gardening, just check the edges of longer grass for sleeping hogs

Lots of hogs who came in underweight over the winter have now been collected by their finders to be released back into the wild, hopefully to find a mate to help boost their dwindling numbers

As the National Hedgehog Awareness Week has clashed with the Coronation, we will be doing a Hedgehog Awareness Day a bit later on Saturday 27th May between 10am to 3pm at North Walsham Garden Centre, depending on the hogs in care, there might be one in attendance, but I cannot say for certain

Are mirror wills right for us?

If you are married, in a civil partnership or cohabiting with a long term partner, and thinking of making or updating your will, you may have heard the expression ‘mirror wills’ and wonder if this would be suitable for you

Mirror wills are wills made by two or more people in identical or very similar terms –effectively mirroring each other ’s arrangements

For many couples, mirror wills may be the most appropriate option, but you should always check with a legal professional as some circumstances might mean that mirror wills are not the best approach for you.

What are mirror wills?

Mirror wills are used to ensure that everything you own passes according to the shared wishes of both parties A typical set up for mirror wills is for everything to pass to the surviving partner, and then after they die everything will pass to those people or charities that you both chose together

How are mirror wills used?

Mirror wills are particularly useful for those in second marriages or with children from previous relationships, as they help to ensure that both sides of the family are treated fairly and equally

If you decide to make separate wills and you do not mirror your wishes, any money or property passing to the survivor after the first death, will then ultimately pass according only to their wishes

Advantages of mirror wills

Mirror wills are useful to protect the interests of the survivor as well as the remaining family of the first person to die

For married couples and those in a civil partnership, mirror wills are also likely to be beneficial for the purpose of inheritance tax, as including each other as beneficiaries initially allows you to take advantage of the tax free allowances available

Disadvantages of mirror wills

Mirror wills do not come with any assurance that the survivor will not change their will, make a new will, or remarry following the first death

Before making your mirror wills, it is imperative that you completely trust one another to stick by any joint decisions you make once one of you is no longer alive As there is no legal obligation on the survivor to retain the terms of the mirror wills, they could simply make a new will leaving everything to beneficiaries of their own choosing, such as their own biological children As such, mirror

OUR FAMILY LAW TEAM

wills might not be suitable if there is any element of distrust or if your families do not get along.

It is also important to note that any later marriage or civil partnership would automatically revoke the survivor ’s will As such, your jointly chosen beneficiaries could miss out even if this is not the survivor ’s intention. If the survivor does remarry, they should seek legal advice to ensure that their will continues to accurately reflect your joint wishes

How can we help?

Mirror wills are often a good option, but this is dependent on your individual circumstances, and you should seek legal advice before making any new will.

Top Tips with Toll Barn Vets - Exotic Birds (Part 3) - Health

As many birds are considered prey species they are adept at hiding illness This means that often by the time signs become obvious the bird has already been unwell for quite a while

To help keep our feathery friends in tip top condition it is worth looking out for:

• Signs your bird looks subdued and is not interacting as they normally would

• He or she has laboured breathing this is easiest to see by look for bobbing of the tail during breathing

• Feathers changes such as being fluffed up, dull, matted or there are missing feathers

• Signs of lethargy

• Lack of interest in food and toys

• Sitting at the bottom of the cage

• Change in the consistency or colour of faeces/droppings

It is a good idea to weigh your bird regularly as often weight loss or gain will be a subtle signs something isn’t right Birds can be trained to stand on an artificial perch on a set of scales, so are easy to weigh regularly with a little encouragement

Training your bird to take feeds rom a syringe can be a lifesaver when it comes to medicating them n the future, the less ndling and stress you put your k bird through the quicker they hopefully recover irds shouldn’t require routine worm or parasite treatment but if you’re worried, pop in a pooled sample (faeces collected from 3-5 days of droppings) so the vet can check to see if treatment is warranted. If your bird is itching, a trip to the vets to assess for external

Strand Club Report - April

What an interesting afternoon we had, listening to Tony Ship MBE, chairman of Cromer Carnival He became involved with the carnival in 1971 and agreed to be Chairman in 1985 This was supposed to be for just a few years, but 38 years later he is still Chairman Tony had many amusing, hair-raising or interesting tales to tell, some of which would never be allowed in our health and safety conscious present time He told us that the only time in 48 years that he missed the carnival parade was in 2000 when they decided to hold a return of the camel race. Thinking that the Bactrian camel, with its two humps, would be the safest bet he was soon to discover that this was not the case The camel got faster and faster

until he was no longer able to hang on, culminating in him ending on the ground with a broken arm and cracked pelvis, and narrowly being trampled by the following camel being ridden by the Vicar of Cromer, Revd David Hayden!

Tony then joined us for coffee and biscuits while members reminisced with him over their own memories of the popular and much-loved entry in the annual Cromer calendar

On Tuesday 4th April we were treated to an excellent and entertaining talk by Mr Andrew Sankey on the history of the cottage garden He explained the development of the garden plot and how various plants and herbs were introduced and used, starting with the early Saxon settlements, through the Tudor and Victorian times to today His stories and antidotes were great fun and had us all laughing and reminiscing, when looking back to childhood memories of gardens past.

Our next meeting on Tues 6th June at 2 30pm is Jane Steward, who has the national collection of Medlar trees and is talking on "The History of the Medlar" and bringing along some examples of the tasty produce she makes with them

Weather Outlook

May will continue the mixed weather features of April and temperatures will only recover slowly but after mid-month we should start to see more sustained fair weather with temperatures more representative of the second half of May. June will continue the trend developing in the second half of May, but although by now the mass of cold air that built up over Arctic regions as early as August last year will be all but gone, any airstream coming down the North Sea across a still cold North Sea will certainly be noticeable

Editor ’s Recipe

There’s nothing like sitting down with a cup of tea and a biscuit to unwind and de-stress It gets even better when you make your own biscuits This recipe beats shop bought biscuits by a mile and are so simple to make Not just to have with tea, they are a lovely addition to have with ice cream or, if you are feeling really decadent, you could sandwich them together with buttercream or jam for a teatime treat You will need 2 flat baking sheets lined with baking parchment and an electric hand mixer or stand mixer for best results You will also need a large piping bag and open star nozzle

Butter Biscuits

Makes approx 16 biscuits

Ingredients

200g butter, softened

100g icing sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon salt

2 egg whites

290g plain flour

Cheeky Chickpeas!

For those of you who have never delved into the delights of chickpeas, here’s a great recipe to ease you in without too much of a shock This is so ridiculously easy to do, and so cheap, that I’m kicking myself for not trying it before! Needless to say, these savoury pancakes are now a regular fixture in our suppers and lunches Chickpea, or Besan / Gram flour, can be bought in most supermarkets, health food stores and delicatessens for between £1 and £2 only, and a little goes a long way You can make all sorts of interesting things with it, such as falafel or bhaji, but this recipe is by far the easiest way to make the most of a great ingredient The great thing about this is you can roll up anything you like in it and it will taste delicious; our favourite is bean chilli, which again is

Preheat your oven to 200C/180C fan/Gas 6

In a large bowl combine the butter, icing sugar, vanilla and salt with a spatula, then whisk together with an electric whisk for 3-4 minutes, scraping down the bowl midway to ensure everything is well mixed and fluffy (Whisking for this long makes the biscuits nice and crumbly) Add the 2 egg whites and whisk again until you have a smooth, creamy mixture (This will look curdled to begin with but keep going)

Next start adding the flour in 2-3 batches and fold in with a spatula until you have a soft and smooth dough Fill your piping bag with the dough and pipe it in rosettes onto your lined baking sheets, leaving space between each biscuit as they will spread in the oven.

Bake for about 12 minutes, until golden brown

Place on a wire rack to cool and firm up

Get the kettle on and enjoy!

cheap as chips and keeps for days in the fridge This is also gluten free for anyone who struggles with wheat and can be whipped up in no time at all for any unexpected vegans who might call round! I’ve added a little turmeric into the mix for a bit more flavour that works well with the filling, but feel free to leave it out; it works just as well without it

Savoury Chickpea Pancakes

1 cup chickpea flour

1 and ½ cups warm water

Pinch salt

Pinch pepper

½ tsp ground turmeric (optional)

A little oil

0.062 FOOD MILES ON OUR VEG

Add all dry ingredients to a bowl and whisk in the water until it is all combined Leave to thicken for at least 15 minutes You will need a good non-stick pan for this to work well Brush a little oil into the bottom and heat the pan up on high. Whisk the batter again. Turn down to a medium high heat and pour in enough to cover the bottom of the pan Cook for approximately 3 mins, or until the underneath is starting to colour Using a large spatula, flip the pancake, and cook for a further 1 minute on the other side Put onto a warm plate and cover with a clean tea towel while you cook the rest (this recipe makes 3-4) Once they are all done, fill them with your favourite filling, roll up and munch!

Suggested fillings:

Make some simple guacamole which goes well with most fillings:

• Mash up a ripe avocado with a couple of good pinches of smoked paprika and garlic salt and squeeze half a lime over and mix well Spread some hummus down the middle, add guacamole, bean chilli, and top with diced salad, drizzle with a little mayo and roll

• Any leftover meat such as chicken, with chopped peppers, spring onions, halved cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic glaze

• Leave out the turmeric, and stuff with feta cheese, chopped salad, olives, fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar

• Fry up some chopped smoked bacon with chopped onion in a little oil and add in some chopped cooked new potatoes. Season well and add a little smoked paprika for a quick hash filling

• Fry up some minced beef and finely chopped onion, add in some chilli powder and smoked paprika and a tin of kidney beans for a quick filling Moisten with a little sweet chilli sauce

Is your Tattoo stopping you from moving forward in life?

Would you like to have it removed in a painless, scar less way with the latest technology? Fractional laser Tattoo removal and other new developments are here.

In many parts of the world greater than 15% of adults have tattoos

It is estimated that 50% of those receiving tattoos will want to have them removed within 10 years of their application Tattoos can have negative associations and can be a hindrance in obtaining certain jobs

Coltishall Clinic have announced the arrival of new high powered lasers

Now we have added another fractional Q-switched Nd-Yag laser ‘ the

01603 736487

gold-standard tattoo removal laser’ which will help us remove most colours in tattoos, but also treat people with deeper pigmentation and sun spots” What methods of Tattoo Removal are available?

We must stress that older methods of tattoo removal are now outdated and have been replaced by better technology These methods included dermabrasion, chemical peels, destruction of tattoo ink by various forms of injectable substances These methods used to remove the part of skin with the tattoo! The results were less than desirable due to unacceptable scarring and poor cosmetic outcome

Why are Q switched Tattoo Removal lasers so good?

Q switched lasers produce very high powered and short nanosecond [one billionth of a second] pulses of light that shatter and disperse pigment particles without damaging the skin Consequently ink particles are removed and surrounding skin is not damaged This dramatically reduces the risk of scarring We have 5 dedicated lasers for this

What is fractional Laser Tattoo Removal treatment?

This is the newest technology that allows us to drill microscopic holes in the tattoo allowing for much better ink clearance

Is the Laser Tattoo Removal treatment permanent?

Yes Doctors and Laser therapists at the Coltishall Clinic have many years experience with IPL and lasers. We specialise in ‘no downtime’ gentle laser facials to more invasive laser resurfacing procedures and ‘knifeless’ laser surgery for lumps, bumps and skin tags in addition to botox, dermal fillers, leg vein treatments and full range of cosmetic surgery

For Laser Tattoo or pigment removal contact Coltishall Cosmetic Clinic 01603 736487 or http://www coltishallclinic co uk

Rental evictions increase following lockdown lift

Landlord possession actions were halted when the country went into lockdown in March 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the aim of easing the financial pressure on struggling families and individuals.

Following the lift on restrictions, the number of tenants evicted from private rented homes across England has seen a peak, although figures are still falling short of pre-pandemic levels Shelter, a charity which provides housing support, has reported that in England 1 in 12 private renters find themselves under the threat of an eviction with 1 in 4 renters consistently struggling to pay their rent

The current cost of living crisis has impacted not only on tenants but landlords who are finding themselves under financial pressure

With interest rates on mortgages increasing, homeowners are facing higher costs Tenants may find themselves in situations where their landlords are wanting to increase their rent

Jams, Chutneys, Pickles, Flour and much

7 West Street, Cromer. tel: 01263 519 039

Open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm Part of Cromer life since 2010

Legally landlords can only do this in certain situations or where the tenant agrees to the rise in rent. It is possible for a tenant to challenge or even refuse the rent increase

In the UK, eviction is a classed as a civil process whereby a landlord can legally remove a tenant from a rental property This process can take a few months and landlords will have to give notice to their tenant of the planned eviction The amount of notice that a landlord is required to give to the tenant will vary depending on the type of tenancy agreement in place.

What can you do if you do not agree with the increase in rent?

If you do not wish to agree to the rent increase demanded by your landlord, the initial approach that you can take is to seek to negotiate with them Try to reach an agreement on a lower rental figure by writing to them and clearly identifying the sum that you feel would be reasonable and are willing to pay If the attempt to reach an agreement by negotiation fails and you find yourself in a position facing eviction you should seek legal advice A legal professional will be able to advise you of your rights as a tenant and can help you to challenge the proceedings

Marrams Bowls Club News from the Club House

We started bowling at Cromer Marrams, on the Runton Road (next to the Blue Sky Café), on Friday 7th April The following day there were over 20 members taking part in the first Spoon Drive We have had a further 3 Spoon drives, all well attended Andrew H was winner of 2 of them with Nigel C second Not doing quite so well were Tony B and Chris H!

Our first friendly was against the Newark Town BC tourists and resulted in a 90-50 shot victory, 3 rinks to 1 Top rink for Cromer was Bob A, Gordon G and Steve H

The green has been playing very well despite the damage inflicted by persons unknown First it was ‘attacked’ with a sharp implement and divots made This was followed recently by individuals sliding on the green and digging their heels deeply into the surface (13 times!) If anyone has information about the culprits, it would be most welcome In the meantime, the police have been informed and CCTV may be installed

All the fixtures are ready to be played in the men’s NBA, mixed Federation leagues, mixed NANSA league and mixed friendlies, over 90 in total So, there will be a game for you, at a time to suit and at a level of competitiveness to suit

Several new bowlers have joined us for the new season There are club matches afternoons, evenings

and weekends Seven days a week, from 10am to dusk, you can also play a ‘roll up’ All this for only £65 subscription, about £2 70 a week Where else can you get such a fun and healthy leisure pursuit so cheaply?! We have introduced ‘Club Time Bowls’ sessions on a Monday afternoon, Wednesday morning and Friday evening which have given more members the opportunity to play socially

If you are not sure you wish to be involved as a club member, then the green is available for local residents and visitors to play, as and when open between 10am and dusk Contact the number below and turn up with smooth soled, flat shoes, borrow a set of bowls and play for 1 hour (£2 50 per person) or 2 hours (£4 per person) We are looking forward to welcoming you this season

FREE SESSION! As part of Bowls England ‘Bowls Big Weekend’ we will offer everyone a free play on Friday 26th May 6 30pm-8 30pm and Monday 29th May 10 00am-12 00pm and 2 00pm-4 00pm Turn up and have a little go You’ll get hooked and find out how friendly we are! More information from the contact details

The winter short mat bowls season is over, with Bob A winning the league and cup double

Congratulations to him and to the top lady, Gay B Trophies were presented at a gathering of members, with lovely cakes provided by the refreshment ladies Many thanks to them The club bar is open every Friday from 7pm for members and visitors Drinks at club prices!
