Saturday, June 29, 2019 ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO, PROVIDENCE, RI RHODE ISLAND ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY
Dear Zoobilee Guests, Thank you for choosing to spend this summer evening with me as we celebrate 28 years of Zoobilee – Feast with the Beasts! As you enjoy the food and dancing tonight take a look around at the amazing changes that are happening here. The new Faces of the Rainforest building, filled with majestic animals from the Amazon has opened. This exhibit teaches our community about the importance of environmental stewardship and how we all can make a difference. Make sure go see the giant otters, adorable monkeys and colorful birds that call the Rainforest home! What started off as a small black tie event in the Zoo’s parking lot has grown into one of Rhode Island’s premier summer events. This unique evening has raised well over $5 million for the Zoo since its start 28 years ago. And tonight we have lots of fun in store to celebrate and show our appreciation for you, our guests, who have made this event so wildly successful over the last 2+ decades! I invite you to treat yourself to delicious food and refreshing beverages provided by over 40 of the finest local restaurants and caterers. And I’m happy to announce that World Premier Band is back once again as our headlining performer! There’s still time to bid in our online auction! Be sure to check it out and bid on some valuable and exciting packages including unique Zoo experiences, weekend getaways, gourmet foods, and much, much more. Simply visit biddingforgood.com/rwpzooauction. Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Alex and Ani and all of the generous companies and individuals who contribute to the success of the event. All proceeds from the evening will help support the Zoo’s mission of education and conservation both here in New England and around the world. Many thanks to my fellow Zoobilee 2019 committee members, the Rhode Island Zoological Society Board of Trustees and all the companies, organizations, and individuals who have generously contributed to Zoobilee, including the participating restaurants who have donated their delicious food, time and staff on a busy Saturday night. Thank you also to the Zoo staff and volunteers who commit their time and hard work to make the evening a fun and safe experience for everyone. Together, you help make this one of the biggest and best parties around. Have a great night…see you next year!
Patrick T. Le Beau Chair, Zoobilee 2019 P.S. Zoo staff and volunteers are hard at work to make tonight’s event trash-free! Please consider reusing your fork and take note of the composting bins that are available. Thank you for your efforts to help reduce our footprint – you make it possible!

Your Generous Support Makes a Difference! • engaging and educating the public • • bringing the wonder of wildlife to the community • • saving threatened and endangered species •
None of these things happen without continued support from the community, our sponsors, local and regional businesses, local and state government, donors and all of the volunteers that contribute to the Zoo. Events like Zoobilee, the Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular and Brew at the Zoo, all provide important revenue streams that help offset the high costs of operating a world-class zoo. Dear Friends, As you celebrate Zoobilee and have hopefully experienced and enjoyed the new Faces of the Rainforest exhibit, I want you to rest assured that there are more great things coming to your Zoo! We are currently completing design of a new education center and event pavilion. The new project will be a net zero energy facility that will be sustainable and take no electricity off the grid. The new facility will allow us to expand our award-winning education programs as well as host large special events such as weddings and corporate outings. This season we welcomed several new additions to our Zoo family. In the rainforest alone, we have had three baby agoutis, baby saki and howler monkeys and multiple tinamou chicks. Our binturongs were also proud parents to triplets who can be seen in the Adaptations exhibit. All the young ones are thriving and can be seen with their parents daily on exhibit.
I want to personally thank all of our Zoobilee sponsors and supporters, as well as our staff and volunteers for making this year’s event another incredibly successful one. If you had a fantastic time tonight, don’t keep it a secret. Tell your friends and make sure they join us at all of our special events so they too can have a great time while supporting an important cause! With thanks,
Jeremy Goodman, DVM Executive Director P.S. As you can see, the Zoo is a great place to have a party. Whether it is a birthday, reunion or holiday party, we know have to have a wild time! Both here at the Zoo and at the Carousel Village we have many options to host your event. Why wait until next year’s Zoobilee to continue the fun?
