Welcome to the April/May issue of Looking Good. In these pages, you’ll read articles about joy and good health, two things we find essential to life. Find out how to protect your skin this summer using, if you choose, the same methods trusted by medical estheticians. And, join us at the Barre, a form of exercise using a ballet bar that is becoming increasingly popular. Here, you can experience the joy of becoming strong and flexible, often utilizing your own body weight. Also, we include a Farm to Table wedding that featured farm-sourced produce and meats. This wedding, held under the open sky in Rising Sun, Maryland, is particularly joyful as it insists on good old-fashioned fun. We also bring you a story about the rare art of watchmaking. This story features two legendary gentlemen who have worked for years in their Towson basement hand-building exquisite watches. Their devotion is as fascinating as the watches they produce. Read on to learn about the Stanton Community Center, a historic center in Annapolis with many great programs for families and individuals in need, including a wonderful summer camp for kids. In this issue, you’ll meet our Outstanding Dentists who give back as well; these are esteemed professionals who have found time to give back to the community, including the Stanton Center. By bringing health to those less fortunate, they find a special kind of joy. In health, Kymberly Taylor & Robert Haywood, Publishers, and all of us at LOOKING GOOD

WORLD RENOWNED WATCHMAKERS IN TOWSON BY: TOM LEVINE PHOTOGRAPHY: ANGIE MYERS

April/May 2015 13
Hartwig Balke is a precise man with a well-ordered life. He was born in Germany and was especially well suited to his career as a mechanical engineer. He enjoys sailing on the Chesapeake, Irish pubs, and fine watches. It was these passions that led him to an Annapolis pub after a day of sailing, where he happened to look down at the wrist of the man sitting next to him and see a particularly nice watch. It was not unusual that Balke would compliment his bar mate’s good taste or strike up a conversation about a shared love of watches. What was unusual, and in fact remarkable, was where that conversation led. The man with the nice watch was George Thomas. It was not surprising that he too had just been sailing and was fond of Irish pubs. It was a bit coincidental that Thomas also spoke with a middle European accent (he is a native of Prague), and that he too was a precise man who, like Balke, had a career as a mechanical engineer. The men, who were both retired, and not just watch fans but also trained watchmakers, decided to start a watch company in their basements. The Towson Watch Company, or TWC, was created in 2000 with the intent of building unique watches of the highest quality, watches that would appeal to collectors like themselves. And as Thomas will tell you, to this day “we are a Maryland company. We are Chesapeake oriented,” and they are still working in the basement, hand building worldclass watches, something almost unheard of in this country. Today Balke and Thomas build less than one hundred watches a year, all assembled by hand. The workshop is what you would imagine finding in an alpine village. It is a wonder of organization, precision, and miniaturization. A small lathe is so clean and in such good condition that it’s hard to believe it was made in the 1940s. Like much of the machinery, it came from an older watchmaker, who had maintained it with a respect for its quality. There is an array of incredibly small hand tools, tweezers that look as thin as a human hair, screwdrivers that turn screws seemingly as small as the period at the end of this sentence. If you want to buy a watch from TWC, you can go to Little Treasury Jewelers in Gambrills, MD. Steve Hammalian, who, with his wife Linda, owns Little Treasury, knows a lot about watches and the people who collect them. Little Treasury has become the preeminent mid-Atlantic dealer of rare and collectable watches, including those made by TWC. It is one of only two stores in the country that sells them. TWC watches are highly prized by serious watch collectors, a group whose ranks have been expanding fueled by social media and a shared obsession with owning beautiful, scarce

objects, objects that show the hand of their creators, that are technically advanced but still mechanical. Your iPhone will keep time very accurately. Wearing a watch built by Balke and Thomas might be about status but it is really about finding a refuge from the digital world, a way to get information without bits or bytes or electricity. Thomas remarks, only half jokingly, “batteries aren’t allowed in our shop.” What can’t be kept out are decades of experience, the skill and desire to create beautifully designed machines that are really small pieces of art, and, sometimes, the need to commemorate our region. The Pride II is a watch about history. It commemorates the Pride of Baltimore II, a topsail schooner built in 1988 to replicate the boats sailed by privateers who once had to out-maneuver the British to deliver rum to thirsty Marylanders. The back of the watch is engraved with an image of the ship under full sail. The case has a unique
shape that is designed to replicate the prow of a ship, with a crown that mimics a ships winch. Just one hundred pieces of the Pride II have been produced. The Martin M-130, like the Pride II, is about local history and transportation. The bond between transportation and watches is deep and long. It is hard to imagine a pilot without a chronograph or a train conductor without a pocket watch. The Martin M-130 celebrates history and technology, commemorating the famous China Clipper flying boat built in Middle River, MD, in 1935 by the Glenn L. Martin Company. It was a plane that shrunk the world, skipping across the Pacific like a rock across a pond, in an astonishingly fast sixty hours. The watch celebrates technology through its handsome, boldly colored dial designed to replicate cockpit instruments of the period. It is a chronograph, the type of watch that allowed pilots simultaneously to measure the current time along

with elapsed hours, minutes, and seconds. The case back is engraved with an image of the China Clipper, and production is limited to an edition of fifty. “The Potomac is a piece of art,” Thomas says with well-earned pride. It is, of course, like the others, technically impressive. Its face presents bold and uniquely styled numbers and thin skeletonized hands. The back of the watch is a sapphire crystal and if you’ve ever wondered how art and technology coexist, you might take a look. A customized version, an edition of one, has a face that cleverly shifts

the position of the 12 clockwise to allow its owner, an avid driver, an appropriate view of the dial while his hand is on the wheel. After inspecting and studying these watches, I can understand why two strangers who met in a pub could walk out with a business plan that would carry them through their retirement years, spending their days in a basement workshop building tiny, perfect things. Yes, these finely crafted watches tell you the time of day, but they are also exquisite objects of desire.

Looking Good Magazine introduces Annapolitan Ann Tochterman Seta. She is a tiny woman with a big personality. We learned that she is 72, laughs a lot, and, it is rumored, occasionally pole dances. She is so short that during conversations, tall people breathe on her head. Sometimes, they have bad breath. To avoid gagging, which would be awkward, she sweetly offers the unsuspecting offender a peppermint from her endless stash. When possible, she anticipates the problem, and offers him or her a mint or hard candy before they say a word. When we learned this, we knew Ann was a resourceful woman and unusual, with much to share, including her conviction that age is just a number.
Loving It
By Ann Tochterman Seta Photo by Angie Myers
I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and went to public schools for the first 8 grades. I loved every single minute because it was coed and fun, fun, fun! Mother thought I was having too much fun and sent me to a penitentiary called Maryvale Prep, an all-girls school taught by nuns in a gorgeous castle in the middle of nowhere. Looking back, Mom did the right thing, for it was here in my junior year of high school that I met my husband to be, Hank. We dated for 7 years before we got engaged and married at 24. It was love at first sight. We’ve been happily married for 47 ½ years. When you see someone whom you think is old or feel old yourself, you have the wrong attitude. I am proof that age is just a number. It all depends on how you look at life. This may sound like a cliché but it is not—through all the pain and trauma I have experienced, I always find a bright side, it is always there somewhere. I try to smile and to be outgoing. That goes back to my childhood. I was born with organs that were deformed from the waist down and had many serious surgeries until the age of 30. Going through all of that and spending long periods of time in the hospital, I always smiled because the doctors and nurses and all of my family and friends spent a lot of their time caring for me. Now why wouldn’t I appreciate their kindness even though I was in a lot of pain at the time? Here’s how I stay positive in my personal life today: I only spend time with people who smile and those who love to laugh. If you are crabby and never smile, that is a cancer eating away at you. If you need a reason to smile, think of me—I’m 72 and prepared to combat bad breath.

What the Pros do for Beautiful Summer Skin
By Kymberly Taylor
The good news is that summer weather can be good for the skin; there is more moisture in the air for your pores to absorb. On the other hand, one spends much more time outside in the sunshine. Professionals agree that for your best summer skin ever, the first step is to exfoliate to reveal fresh new skin; the second step is to protect it from the sun. The sun is dangerous because it feels good while at the same time penetrates your skin with ultraviolet (UV) rays. These can damage your skin’s DNA and encourages skin cancers, according to the American Cancer Society.
April/May 2015 27
Exfoliation
Professionals are not like us; you will rarely see them cruising the drug store aisles for skin care products. Most estheticians who exfoliate at home use powerful ingredients, especially retinoids. One of the most common is Retin-A, which is a prescription form of vitamin A. Retinol, another retinoid, is one of the most powerful anti-aging ingredients used to improve skin texture and dramatically reduce wrinkles. It is derived from vitamin A and can appear in different skin care products at various strengths and forms. Some claim that Retin-A causes photosensitivity and that it should not be applied in the summer. However, others claim that the product is fine as long as a sunscreen is applied. Certainly check this out with your professional.
28 LOOKING GOOD
No matter what you decide, beware of products bought over the counter (OTC) that claim to use some form of retinol. Retinol, if you do not know how to use it or what you’re doing, can be dangerous. OTC products must contain very low amounts by law, so that they are safe for everyone. However, you are not “everyone” and have special needs, right? If you are going to spend the money, and want noticeable improvement, think things through. OTC products are gentler on your skin and often less expensive but it may take longer to see results.
Sunscreen
This is a must. However, are all sunscreens created equal? No. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that everyone use sunscreen that offers the broadspectrum protection (protects against UVA and UVB rays) and Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 30 or greater. A sunscreen’s ingredients are just as important as its sun protection factor, says Lauri Leight, a licensed medical esthetician at the office of James E. Chappell, Annapolis Plastic Surgery in Severna Park. Leight, who has been at her profession for over twenty years, notes that many expensive over-the-counter products contain ingredients such as alcohol and parabens that can dry out the skin, upset its pH level, and actually age the skin. In her opinion, the best sunscreens contain zinc and titanium, which are healing minerals. Leight chooses to use a product called Elta, which contains invisible zinc oxide particles and titanium and also acts as a moisturizer.
Cindy Douglas, make-up artist in the 1970s for supermodels such as Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell and currently an over-40 model for Aveda, Elizabeth Arden, and Olay, told Looking Good she leaves the house sometimes with little else on but sunscreen. She turned her back on drugstore cosmetics and launched her own cosmetic line called Boom, formulated, she says, for women over 40. She believes the philosophy that “less is more” and does not cleanse her skin everyday. “Your body knows how to be healthy. It creates a protective mantle that protects the body. When you cleanse, this comes off.” When she must wash her face, she uses water or a very gentle cleanser, followed by sunscreen.
Less Is More
Skin Care specialist Kris Lawrence is a senior licensed medical esthetician for Dr. Chappell and has practiced her craft for sixteen years. She agrees with Douglas that “less is more.” Both Lawrence and Leight had problem skin as teenagers, including severe breakouts and acne. They turned to professionals for help. The dramatic improvement they experienced prompted them to become estheticians, so that they, too, could help others. Good skin is achievable, says Lawrence, who in addition to exfoliating and using sunscreen, also applies vitamin C serum to her skin daily for anti-aging. However, you must be patient. “It takes time. It’s not just a one and done,” says Lawrence. What is most important she notes is the need to use daily an at-home professional strength skin care system. Leight agrees that a daily ritual for skin care is as essential as caring for your hair. “Skin is like your hair, a living breathing organism that you need to tend to every day. If you don’t take care of your hair or cut it, it will form dreadlocks and curl up and die. The same thing happens to your skin.” Skin care is confusing. Many of us spend thousands per year on products we may not really understand. What is clear is that creating beautiful skin takes some time. However, now that summer is just about here, there is no need to waste time. Luckily, many choices abound.

Making a Difference in Annapolis The Stanton Community Center By Robert Haywood Some organizations are vital to a community, although their purpose may be unknown and their work invisible. The Stanton Community Center is one of those critical organizations. The center, located on West Washington Street in Annapolis, was the first school in Annapolis for African-Americans. In 1974, during the county school system’s desegregation, it became a community center. The Stanton Center, operated by the City of Annapolis and Annapolis Recreation and Parks, serves as a community resource for individuals and families with low incomes and others in need. Non-profit agencies contribute to the Stanton Center, offering programs that support medical, dental, and nutritional health, family counseling, and drug intervention services. Teachers, doctors, dentists, psychologists, pastors, politicians, and those from all walks of life volunteer. The center has served as the home for a dental clinic available to qualified individuals, with many local dentists donating their services. For those unaware of the Stanton Center, some of its educational programs that aim to help struggling students deserve to be highlighted. Every citizen benefits when a community’s young people receive the best education possible. In partnership with St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, the center sponsors The Get Smart Club for elementary, middle school, and high school students. Low-performing students receive tutoring in math and reading. Another invaluable program is the Stanton Center STEM Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), which includes Girls are Great at Science (GAGAS). Many young people gain confidence and a sense of purpose through sports. The Stanton Center, which contains a gymnasium, hosts the Zastro Simms Youth Basketball League (ZSYBL), a premier youth program in the Annapolis Metro Area. The Hook a Kid on Golf program gives children an opportunity to learn regulations and golf etiquette, as well as instruction in playing the game. One of the worse things for young people is boredom and lack of quality stimulation, especially on the weekends and during the summer. The Summer Recreation Enrichment Camp, for children ages 6–12 years old, is a six- week camp that includes demonstrations on marine life by the Maritime Museum, visits by health professionals and police officers, and field trips, including visits to the Smithsonian Art and Space Museum and Jug Bay, a wetlands sanctuary. Archie Trader, Program Director, says the camp aims to “light up” the lives of children and inspire them with real life experiences and opportunities they otherwise would not have. While this is only a brief summary of some of the Stanton Center’s programs, the main point is clear: the Stanton Center works to improve the education and quality of life for young people and those in need. Volunteers make a big difference and community partners and individuals donate funds to support the specific programs. We thank them and the Stanton Center. Year after year, they make Annapolis a healthier, happier place to be. To learn more about programs offered by the Stanton Community Center, contact Archie Trader at 410.295.5519. 32 LOOKING GOOD

Outstanding Dentists 2015 When selecting a dentist, there is much to consider. The dentist’s education, experience, and track record, his or her interaction and accessibility to the patient, the quality of his or her staff, the whole office environment, costs, and referrals from other doctors and friends whose word you trust. In this issue of Looking Good, we celebrate another quality—the ability to step outside oneself and give. The following dentists not only give back to the community in many ways, they have joined us in our effort to support the Stanton Community Center in Annapolis. Each of these respected dentists has also donated a substantial portion of this issue’s advertising costs to support the Stanton Center. The funds will help fulfill the dreams of children who wish to attend the Stanton Center’s 2015 summer camp but whose families cannot afford the enrollment fee. We salute these dentists both for their professional achievement and service and for supporting a most deserving community organization.

Dr. Maria Colucciello, DDS
Dr. Maria Colucciello is a 1982 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She was the third woman to practice dentistry in Annapolis and has been treating patients for thirty-three years. She volunteers her skills at the Annapolis Stanton Community Center and with the State of Maryland’s Donated Dental Program and for many other causes. Dr. Colucciello has a rapport with her patients that often extends beyond her office. She talks about “invisible acts of power,” a phrase coined by New York Times bestselling author Caroline Myss, that can be elicited by a simple smile. What is an invisible act of power? An invisible act of power is when someone does something kind without an agenda that no one knows about. Because the act is invisible, it can be especially powerful. In her book, Invisible Acts of Power, Myss shares the story of a man in a serious state of depression who was on his way home, planning to end his life. As he was waiting to cross the street, even though it was a green light, a driver waved him across. He saw the woman behind the wheel smiling at him so warmly and sincerely that he no longer felt hopeless. That smile had an invisible power and was a small miracle. When I finish treating a patient, I tell them to go out and smile at the world. You never know what the power of your smile might do or whom it will help. Who is your hero? My hero is one of my former patients named Bill—someone whom most people have never heard of. He was a brilliant young man who was living “the dream.” He married his high school sweetheart and had a successful construction company, but at age twenty-five, he was struck by a drunk driver and was paralyzed from the neck down. Bill lost his health, his wife, his home, his job, but he never lost his inner strength. Bill died a few years after the accident from an infection, but he left an incredible legacy to those who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and never lost faith that life was worth living. He was the most courageous person I have ever met. Dr. Scott Finlay Skips Corporate Approach to Dentistry
Courageous individuals dive right into life and get started, skipping tedious prerequisites, including climbing the corporate ladder. Some call them crazy, others call them driven. Dr. Scott Finlay is one of the latter. Early in life, he knew he wanted to become a dentist and wasted no time—soon after graduating from Boston College and cum laude from University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1986, he opened his own practice in Arnold, MD. To date, he continues to build a national reputation, and has received many awards and honors, including the prestigious Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Was there an “ah ha” moment in your life when you knew you wanted to be a dentist? If so, please describe. I think as long as I can remember, I wanted to pursue a career where I had an impact on my own destiny. I always enjoyed being creative and finding solutions to problems. Dentistry provides a unique combination of each of these core values. I enjoy every day helping my patients improve their health and their smiles. A smile is an incredibly personal attribute that can open an individual to their fullest potential. Why do you continue to pursue dentistry? Was there a moment when you wanted to quit? No. It may sound odd, but I was very fortunate when I began my practice twenty-eight years ago, that I never had worked in a dental office before, so I never had an understanding of how a dental office “should” be run. What I did know is how I wanted to be treated if I were a patient. Because of that, my practice is centered on our patients and their needs, instead of the corporate approach to medical treatment. It is the best profession in the world when patients, who become friends, entrust their care to you and you can create a level of excellence that enhances their lives. How do you relax when outside of the office? I like to ski, golf, and sail and especially enjoy spending time with my family.

Dr. Sarah Aufderheide, DDS
Dr. Sarah Aufderheide, a woman of unbelievable energy, is from Long Island, New York. She completed her dental studies at Case Western Reserve and practices general dentistry in Annapolis and on the Eastern Shore. When she was in high school, she knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life, and has not wavered once from this path. In her first year of college, she even met and married a dentist, Dr. Richard Aufderheide. Today, they have offices on Kent Island and Annapolis. When did you know you wanted to be a dentist?
Sarah
My best friend lived next door to me and her father was a dentist. We would help out in his office, doing everything, from being a receptionist, to dabbling around in lab work, to cleaning the office. Yes, it was work, but we got to hang out. I liked the lifestyle; the big important thing for me was to be independent, to go out into the world with that. How do you handle fear?
I think it is healthy to have some degree of fear—that enables you to have strength and some focus. You let that fear drive you through it, and through that force, you find strength. How do you relax? One thing that I do that most people would not find relaxing is running. I have a three-mile loop and a six-mile loop. In college I often ran ten or more miles. I exercise almost daily if I can; today I am on cloud 9 because I went running for the first time in a long while. What excites you about practicing dentistry today? So much has changed since I graduated from dental school in 1995. It’s the radical improvement in materials and technology. You can take an impression for a crown, send it to a lab and have it made. Or, you can use software and build the crown in your office in your own milling machine. Some dentists do this in Annapolis today; we do not; it is one of those things that they are really perfecting, one of those things that I am watching and waiting to see what happens. Dr. Brian Valle opened his private practice in Severna Park/Millersville area in 1989 and specializes in family and cosmetic dentistry. Born and raised in Arnold, Maryland, he earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in Baltimore and dental degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1988. Like many Maryland natives raised upon a river, water is part of his DNA. It is no wonder that he finds peace and solace in watching the sun rise over the Magothy River each day. His calmness extends to his work. His mindful, down-to-earth style makes each person feel welcome and important. It is our pleasure to get to know a more personal side of Dr. Valle; we share his answers to the following questions. Who are your heroes today? There is nothing more heroic to me than those individuals who sacrifice their lives to fight for and protect our country. It is the ultimate act of bravery and selflessness and I have the utmost admiration for these men and women. Where do you find true relaxation? Watching the sun rise on the Magothy River. I was born and raised on the river and there is no place in the world I would rather be. What single thing brings you happiness every day? I’m a pretty simple kind of guy. What I enjoy most is coming home from work each day and sitting at the dining room table and having dinner together with my family. It’s simple but it keeps me grounded. Describe your fantasy vacation. Hiking in the Canadian Rockies. I love being outdoors, experiencing nature and solitude. What are your favorite “kick back and relax” TV shows? I spent lots of time growing up watching old westerns and old classic movies with my dad. My favorite channel today is TCM with all the old classic movies. It takes me back to those innocent carefree days. On the flip side my wife and love kicking back and watching House of Cards together. t a e M t e e Mthe Barre By Christine Fillat
Fitness trends come and go like fashion, but the quest for the body beautiful is ageless. Like the current love for yoga pants for every occasion and sneakers with dresses, workouts at the ballet barre have exploded onto the fitness market over the past few years. Those in pursuit of positive body consciousness love this boutique fitness movement and the ensuing community it creates. Barre was developed in the 1950s in London by German-born ballet dancer Lotte Berk. Injured in a performance of Peter Pan (legend has it she was playing the title role and flew off of the stage), Berk merged orthopedic exercise with a ballet barre workout. “Her rehabilitation became her technique,” says Julie Wender, owner of Barre Belle in Potomac, MD. “She found that the exercise she developed enhanced her posture and improved the health of her spine.” And it toned her body, too. She created a series of moves focusing on the body’s core and leg muscles, known as the Lotte Berk Method. In 1959 she opened an exercise studio on London’s Manchester Street to provide women a place where they could tone their bodies together, and by the 1960’s swinging London scene, had a cult following. Berk became, in effect, the mother of the modern workout class. She was known for her straight-talk and saucy banter. “How is your sex life?” she would ask her students. Somehow, she knew that her workouts would make women feel proud of their bodies. Crossing the Atlantic to New York City in the 1970s, Lotte Berk’s barre method became wildly popular with fashionistas and image-conscious socialites. Fast-forward to the new millennium:
the movement has steadily gained momentum with many offshoots. In the Baltimore-Annapolis-D.C. metro area, there are more than twenty different boutique studios where one may experience barre fitness. Barre is also offered at local large gyms, like Gold’s Gym, Merritt Athletic Clubs, and Evolutions. Barre class in 2015 draws on a wealth of fitness movements for inspiration: ballet for form, pilates for core movements, yoga for stretches, isometrics for isolating muscle groups, and plyometrics for interval training. The technique is low-impact and can be practiced by anyone regardless of age, sex, and body type. “We combine upper body with core isometric muscles that control what we do,” says Anne Marie Barbour, co-founder of Soul Body, which brings barre classes to clubs and studios in Baltimore and surrounding cites. “We work with small movements and a seamless flow, choreographing one move to another. We work really deep into the abs; we’re really mindful of the body.” The practitioners agree: just one hour a day, three times a week is all the investment you need to see results with barre workouts. After a month of this regime, the shape of your body will change: your derriere will be lifted, your core will be stronger, you will be creating longer, leaner muscles, and your posture will improve. This fine-tuning of the body is fueled by house music. This determines the studio mojo. “The music brings up the intensity of the workout,” says Kim Quinn, owner of Pop Physique in Baltimore. “Basic barre is choreographed to our music. It’s what I love about it. I can close my eyes and move to the music. We have one hundred different playlists all put together by our DJ.” Moving to the music will increase body awareness, and in effect, make the movements more precise and effective. Finding the barre studio that is right for you will require some investigation. Most studios have websites. Look at them to see what sort of training their teachers have had. Those who teach barre have typically gone through teacher training at an established studio. They come from all facets of the fitness world: dance, weight training, team sports, pilates, and yoga. A properly trained teacher should know modifications for typical body issues and injuries. We all know that daily fitness is important. Think of all the workout options that are available to us. Part of the struggle for fitness is finding the method that is most efficient. Beyond that, the workout has to be enjoyable for us to plunk down our hard earned dollars and invest an hour of our time. After all what is the point of working out if not to look our absolute best and feel amazing, as well as to be healthier? This is the ultimate goal, and if it can be obtained by religiously going to the studio just three times a week for an hour at a time, then it’s definitely worth a try. Want a hot body, improved posture, and better self-esteem? I’ll meet you at the barre!

A Farm to Table Wedding
Angela and Matt Housley | August 30, 2014 Angela and Matthew Housley married 8/30/14 at Spring Hill Manor in Rising Sun, MD. The wedding took place in a big barn with two levels and plenty of gardens, with a pool on the lower level. Fresh meat and produce were served in abundance. Angela notes that the theme for their wedding was “barn, rustic, shabby chic. We wanted something pretty/elegant but fun and laid back. I’ve always loved antiques and vintage decor.” For colors, the couple chose coral and gray. I’ve always loved coral—it’s one of my favorites. And we picked gray because it goes with everything. I thought it was a clean, classic look for the boys.”
