Potential green space

The zoning laws in East Boston often make the development of green space difficult. Called out in this diagram are spaces designated as economic development areas, waterfront subdistrics, and Logan Airport.

Objective: To rehabilitate a key piece of urban culture in the heart of Berlin.

TACHELES REIMAGINED

Identify most populated roads.

FIRST FLOOR

PUBLIC/MIXED RESIDENTIAL

Separate into public & private

Identify desired open spaces

Select section of master plan

By creating a vertical sidewalk system, the building invites the public to interact with the spaces above street level. This allows the whole building to have public access, forming a more active community.

Objective: To design an urban school which integrates the fabric of the South End with the program of the school.

SOUTH END SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

Heirarchy of spaces

Open program

Objective: To redesign a summer home which can meet the needs of two to thirty people.

SHELTER ISLAND

PIN IMPRESSION This installation was a large scale pin impression toy, tucked away in a Northeastern academic building. The large scale toy encourages interaction both with the object, and with other students passing by. The ‘pins’ are #2 pencils with rubber cappings.

3D FOUNDATIONS

TOY MODULE This modular toy is a simple form of four cubes, which can then be manipulated into countless different forms. By including magnets on three of the interior faces, the toy become much sturdier and many more forms can be created.
