We built the MINI Convertible to recreate the good old days when you could have a whale of time just running around in the street. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s just as much fun now as it was then, except you and your friends donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have to go home when it gets dark.

With " alloy wheels fitted as standard, along with optional leather upholstery and Chili Red contrast stitching, the vehicle is a feast for the eyes. The MINI Highgate is living proof that you don’t need a roof over your head to be stylish. And with Highgate side scuttles, " Double Cross turned alloy wheels in Silver, exclusive door sill finishers and a gorgeous Dark Truffle interior, you’re all set to make a big impact wherever you go. Now this is what a convertible should look like. The steep A-pillar on the MINI Convertible gives a real open-air feeling, and the great all-round view makes parking child’s play. You don’t even have to count the number of hours you spend with the top down: the optional openometer does it for you automatically.

THE FUN ONLY STOPS WHEN YOU WANT IT TO. HOW’S THIS FOR A BIRD’S-EYE VIEW?

Four seats. That’s four different perspectives on the city, plus space for a healthy amount of luggage. The luggage compartment has a surprisingly large capacity for a convertible, at up to  litres. And if you need even more, the rear seats fold down with a : split to give up to  litres of storage space.

The MINI Convertible’s engine is impressive enough, but the rigid chassis gives you that key ingredient of every MINI: the legendary go-kart feeling. And short though the car may be, we haven’t taken any shortcuts with safety. With high torsional rigidity, active roll-over protection,  airbags, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) as standard, you can drive on with complete peace of mind.

How’s this for starters? The heart of the MINI One Convertible is a formidable  hp/ kW .-litre engine, providing  Nm of torque and tonnes of fun to go with it. OK, so your hair may get blown around a bit, but that’s a small price to pay for a fuel consumption of . miles per gallon. You’ll forget what a petrol station looks like.

Now things start to get really interesting under the bonnet. The .-litre engine in the MINI Cooper Convertible delivers no less than  hp/ kW, and  Nm of torque. Hungry for more? Then have a look at the MINI Cooper D Convertible. Thanks to turbo technology, it provides precisely  Nm of torque to the front wheels, with combined-cycle fuel consumption of just . miles per gallon.

A turbocharger supplies compressed air to the engines of the MINI Cooper S Convertible and MINI Cooper SD Convertible, which in the diesel version delivers  hp/ kW of power and  Nm of torque. The petrol version uses a twinscroll turbocharger to achieve an impressive maximum output of  hp/ kW, generating up to  Nm of torque with the overboost function.

MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS CONVERTIBLE. The cream of the crop: the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible has a  hp/ kW, .-litre engine. This is a whole different ballgame, with a twin-scroll turbocharger, direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and, with the overboost function, up to  Nm of torque.

The MINI Coupé sails round bends, but its low centre of gravity, rigid, torsion-reinforced body and direct steering keep it hugging the road like a pair of tightfitting jeans.

Thanks to the MINI Roadster’s low centre of gravity, rigid body and direct steering, the only thing that feels more like a go-kart is a go-kart. Except go-karts don’t have this much luggage space:  litres to be precise, with a handy through-loading function.

With its low roof, flat windscreen and aerodynamic fine tuning, the MINI Roadster slices its way through the air like a knife through warm butter. The rear spoiler automatically extends at  mph, trapping the slipstream and converting it into improved roadholding. So while the MINI Roadster is an amazingly fun car to drive, it’s also safe as houses.

Sport stripes are a great way to give your MINI Coupé or MINI Roadster a classic race-car look. MINI Coupé models with a Black roof come with Black sport stripes on the bonnet and rear.

The stripes on the roof, however, are in body colour. On the MINI Roadster, the stripes only cover the bonnet and rear.

Top this. The Convertible soft-top sunroof. For a quick blast of fresh air, you can open the steplessly adjustable sunroof in the MINI Convertible up to  centimetres while travelling at up to  miles an hour. There’s even an optional wind deflector to make sure no one gets cold ears.

Wherever the lucky recipients of your attention are, the optional extra-bright xenon headlights with optional LED fog lights (incl. daytime running light) will find them automatically. SAFETY. The MINI Convertible, MINI Coupé and MINI Roadster are fitted as standard with four airbags: driver and passenger airbags protect the head and upper body in the event of a head-on collision, while head/thorax airbags in the seats reduce the risk of injuries to the head, chest and abdominal areas from side impacts for the driver and front passenger. As well as protecting against collisions with the dashboard, doors and windows, they also provide a barrier against flying parts.

The MINI Convertible is fitted with an active roll-over protection system made from high-strength aluminium. Discreetly nestled behind the headrests, it deploys in approx.  milliseconds should a roll-over occur. The MINI Roadster features two static roll-over bars made of polished stainless steel. Together with the extra-stiff windscreen frames, they protect passengers in the event of a roll-over by creating a survival space. The bars work in conjunction with a wide range of reinforcements to maximize torsional rigidity and create a secure passenger compartment.

Fitted as standard, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) counteracts incipient loss of grip by intervening in the engine management and applying braking force to individual wheels at the front and rear as necessary. DSC also includes a Hill Start Assist feature. Optional Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), which includes Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), lets you make optimal use of natural over and understeer. EDLC applies braking to the inner wheel if it loses too much grip around a corner, ensuring the car maintains forward momentum through bends and on surfaces with variable levels of grip. At the same time, it enables more torque to be applied to the outer wheel and applies additional corrective braking to the rear axle on bends.

4. FULLY VARIABLE VALVE TIMING. The fully variable intake valve lift timing increases power output for all petrol engines, while simultaneously improving combustion efficiency.

2. SHIFT POINT DISPLAY. This gives instructions in the rev counter showing which gear you should be in to maximise fuel economy, reducing your emissions and your expenditure on fuel.

The MINIMALISM ANALYSER. Part of the optional MINI Connected infotainment system, the MINIMALISM Analyser monitors a number of variables to determine how economically you’re driving, and gives you advice on how you could use less fuel. After each journey, you can review and compare your driving data with the user-friendly MINI Connected app, and refine your driving style for even greater fuel efficiency.

3. BrakE energy regeneration uses Intelligent Alternator Control to convert unneeded kinetic energy into electricity. When the driver’s foot is not on the gas, more energy is diverted to charging the battery than when the car is accelerating.

Every MINI is supplied with a -year unlimited mileage dealer warranty. (This excludes wear-and-tear parts, such as brake pads.)

At every stage, from design to disassembly, recycling is central to the MINI philosophy. For example, all the materials used in each vehicle’s manufacture are selected because they can be used in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way possible. That way, every MINI can be efficiently and ecologically recycled when its driving days are finally done. We have been working on this approach since  at the BMW Group Recycling and Disassembly Centre in Munich, the only facility of its kind. Your MINI dealer will be pleased to advise you on the disposal of your old vehicle, or you can visit www.MINI.co.uk

Every MINI also comes with a -year anti-corrosion warranty, which covers the vehicle against rusting of the body panels. This warranty is dependent on any previous damage to the vehicle body or under body (e.g. stone impact damage, scratches, dents, accident damage or other damage caused by environmental factors) having been correctly repaired in accordance with current MINI guidelines.



The painted surfaces of the car are covered by a -year warranty. This excludes any damage to painted surfaces caused by improper treatment or unforeseen environmental factors.
