‘ROCKLEE’ SHORE ROAD, COVE www.clydeproperty.co.uk

Built c.1851, this handsome and well maintained detached house was one of the first five to be built in this beautiful coastal hamlet. Without a doubt it has one of the best locations on the peninsula, with outstanding views over the estuary to the Cowal coastline, taking in Arran, Inellan, Dunoon, Kirn, Hunter’s Quay, Strone Point, Blairmore and Ardentinny. The house sits within beautifully laid out gardens of around one acre with a driveway which sweeps round the house to simplify access. The extensive rear garden has a rocky mound on the East side which provides good shelter and privacy with a wild garden on top. Outbuildings comprise a good sized garage with space for mowers, tools etc and a lean-to log store. Reference the enclosed floorplan, the house offers spacious and adaptable family accommodation. It should be noted that all three public rooms and two of the largest bedrooms offer views over the water. Retained features include deep moulded skirtings and architraves, panelled doors and a beautiful curved staircase with cast iron ballustrades and mahogany hand rail. With the exception of the stained glass bays, most windows have been replaced with double glazed units. Oil fired central heating is installed and the boiler is just 4 years old. There is a log burning multi fuel stove in the lounge and electric cast iron stoves in the dining room and study.
