Creating a Three Dimensional Play Style

Create a new playground style that conserves space within the city, while providing an exciting play experience. Today, children are losing their play spaces in urban areas due to development. To solve this problem, this playground is designed as architecture, using multiple levels to address the problem of insuďŹƒcient space. Through this, play can become 3 Dimensional movement to not only provide for, but enhance the quality of urban play. This design acts as a multiuse playground in the city. site: 1-25-4, Ebisuminami, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan Graduation Project: Pocket Park

Landscape Studio Project: Community Garden

BACKGROUND - This site has entrance to walking path, so users are not only gardeners but also walkers. - There is closure feeling because surrounded by many trees and steep slope, and only east side is open.

Present

The walker route is only north area’s one, and there area’s one, and there is no chance to take community. walker

no community with gardeners

route

New

Making new route that gardeners and walkers can share, and improving community.

Making Approachable Space The human scale design makes friendly feeling, and it makes more community. From communty meeting, I could know that gardeners wish more community with not only gardener’s company but also other people. This site has entrance of walking path, so there are many chances to take community. However, it doesn’t incarnate. One of the reason is circumstance of site’s outskirts. it makes site closure feeling. my design is to solve this problem and make more community. site: 13027-13299 10th Ave NE, Seattle, WA
